Working Through Adversity

Hello People!

I have another motivational video for you today to bless your spirit. I think I’m on a motivational trip right now. When I think about adversity, I am reminded of what my grandparents went through to raise 3 kids and 2 grandchildren (5 kids in total). They went through hardship and ridicule from those that assumed that they were “losers” that wouldn’t amount to anything. My Grandmother was a nurse and my Grandfather was a teacher, a principal (headmaster) of a school, who later on became an Ambassador to my country. When he became an Ambassador, those that used to ridicule the family during the painful years of their lives all of a sudden wanted to be associated with them. It’s so funny who comes crawling out of the woodworks to try and re-enter your life when God elevates you. Always remember those that weren’t for you then when you were down and out and struggling, because from what I’ve seen and experienced, such people won’t necessarily be for you even when you do start to prosper. That is why you need to develop discernment on your journey when you do start to prosper. People can make you and break you in this life, but ultimately, it is your current mindset and how you face such adversities that will determine your end.

Your starting point doesn’t determine your end. Just because a person may start out disadvantaged or poor, doesn’t mean that their end will remain the same. A seed thrown in a desert may not flourish but once it’s planted in the right soil, it can grow to the full potential of what it was meant to be, and that is to be a tree. You may have started life in a desert, but you can move from your current condition and change the outcome of your destiny when you decide that where you are isn’t enough. Pursue people that don’t have a “desert” mentality… Pursue people that can groom you into a “forest”. Such people know what nutrients of information you need in order to thrive and prosper. In some cases, you may have been a seed that landed in a desert, but the winds can carry you to the right environment when you allow yourself to reach out to those that are willing to carry you out of your desert environment to thrive in the right environment for your destiny.

I always believe in marking those that see little of you to be people you keep to the curbside of your life and for those that truly believed in you even when you were down and out, these are the types of people you should remember when you reach that place of elevation in your life because these are the types of people that won’t flatter your ego. They tend to be brutally honest with you, they encourage you and are able to perceive the true level of your potential and greatness that already resides inside of you, and are the keys you need in your life to draw out that greatness. If you surround yourself with people that can’t see beyond problems, then you’ll always remain stuck where you are. If you surround yourself with people that are visionaries who see beyond the problem(s) and find solutions to such problems, you will always be able to break the barriers that seemed to be unbreakable and become a problem-solver worth pursuing. Jesus is a problem-solver and He first demonstrated this capability that we all have through His first miracle at the Wedding in Cana.

Water turned into Wine

Jesus’ first miracle was at a wedding. It wasn’t at a farm, it wasn’t while tending sheep, it wasn’t at a synagogue, it wasn’t even in the marketplace, it was at a wedding in Cana (John 2-1-12). I believe that the significance of this first miracle taking place at a wedding was to mark the significance that God places in His relationship with The Church that is often referred to as “The Bride of Christ”. The wine at the wedding had already been consumed and depleted by the guests who were already in attendance at the wedding; however, when Mary, mother of Jesus requested Jesus to do something about it, He did do something about it even though He had told her that it wasn’t His time yet (John 2:4). Although Mary disregarded Jesus’ comment, Jesus in His graciousness took six stone jars that were filled with water (each jar holding 20-30 gallons or 75 to about 115 liters) that were used for ceremonial washing (John 2:6) and filled each jar to the brim with wine. I believe that the miracle of the wine at the wedding of Cana event foreshadowed and symbolized the Blood of Jesus that was going to be spilled at the Cross, which would later become known as the Blood of the New Covenant between the sons of Men and God.

In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Don’t get angry at those that don’t see your true value.

Jesus became the sacrifice that would restore our relationship with God and it is through His blood that we are restored in right-standing before the Father. So for today, no matter how many mistakes you’ve ever made in your life, the Power of the Blood of Jesus is able to wash over your sins, your past mistakes and cause you to overcome every hindrance, obstacle, or weight that keeps you from reaching your full potential as a Child of God. When you have the mind of Christ, you can achieve whatever it is that you put your mind to. Most of what these motivational speakers say in our day, are in alignment to what is already written in the Bible. So my prayer for all of us is to remember that even when people ridicule you and look down on you on the basis of your current circumstances and define you by your present status, always remember that God has already defined you as someone who can succeed, who can overcome, who can endure, who can persevere, who can press forward towards the goal and not look back, who can win, who can be an over-achiever, who can do exceedingly, abundantly and above all you could ever ask or think or imagine. God already knows your end from your beginning.

Do not let the short-sighted naysayers of your life define who you presently are when they haven’t even got the correct lenses or the revelation to see where you will be far up ahead in your God-driven, purpose-driven destiny.

Always remember, that God knows your end from your very beginning and you must run with that revelation rather than running on another man’s criticism to define who you currently are. We are all destined for greatness so remember that as you watch this video. I pray that it blesses your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody! 😀
