Jesus is My Valentine – A message to the Single from somone who is single

love-like-jesus

Hi People!

thZLU27RLEHappy Valentines! I must admit, I never really liked Valentines day because 1) I thought it to be a very exclusive day for those that are “couples” leaving all the singles such as myself hanging out to dry watching all these couples be lovey-dovey to each other. I was pretty much disgusted and annoyed by it just to be honest. Yes, I was bitter about it and dreaded it each year frankly speaking, but God showed me something about myself and had to deal with my broken heart concerning this issue. 2) I don’t believe love should be expressed on this one day only. If you really love someone, love should be shown everyday. It’s nice to have a day to celebrate it, but the last time I checked, I believe that Jesus showed us what real love looked like. Jesus is Love so don’t wait for one special day that only happens once a year to express it to your loved ones.

So today, I’m saying that Jesus is my Valentine, not for just today, but for my whole life. I love Jesus and when you think about all that He has done for  you, you realize that love isn’t subject to one day, Jesus is LOVE personified. Love is a person and that person is Jesus. The way you express love to your spouse should be in alignment to God’s personality. Husbands, Love your wives as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her, Wives submit to your husband. If your husband loves you in the way that Jesus loves you, women would not have a problem submitting to their husband. The reason why many relationships are in trouble today is because people don’t understand how to love each other as Christ-like as possible.

428538157f78e7e67b13773e38a9dd22Ephesians 5:24-33(NKJV)

24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. 30 For we are members of His body,[a] of His flesh and of His bones. 31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”[b] 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

I don’t know if any of you have read The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate is a 1995 book by Gary Chapman.[1] It outlines five ways to express and experience love that Chapman calls “love languages”: gifts, quality time, words of affirmation, acts of service (devotion), and physical touch (intimacy).[2]

dea833f7166c2e1ac5076ce3f484bb39If you think about these 5 ways we express love to one another, we can apply the same thing with the way we express our love and devotion to Christ our Saviour. Personally, my love languages that I identify with the most are quality time, words of affirmation and physical touch (affection). I grew up in a family where my parents and grandparents spent quality time with me, gave me words of affirmation and expressed love with physical affection (hugs and kisses, hand holding etc). The other two love languages acts of service and gifts are secondary for me. My family did show me the other two love languages but I identify strongly with the 3 I have listed above. I love that they worked hard to bring me up and I’m blessed to have received many gifts from them, but I know personally I love the quality of time we’ve spent together laughing, joking around, the embraces I received and the words of affirmation that built my character today. I find that when I go into my own prayer closet, I express my love for God in the very same way. I enjoy being in God’s presence, I enjoy spending quality time with the King of kings and the Lord of lords. I enjoy giving Jesus my affection and words of affirmation. Yes I bring my gifts and acts of service in the church, but I believe that apart from those things, our Lord wants to spend quality time with us.

So if your single (just like me), and have dreaded Valentines Day just like the plague like I did because it reminds you of how “lonely” you feel, just remember, that a person cannot fill the void in your heart. Only Jesus can fill those places.

I’ve seen people get together and there’s no love in the relationship. There has been too much squabbling, bickering and complaining that there is literally no affection displayed at all, there are no words of affirmation, virtually no acts of service, nor gifts or quality time spent together because no one wants to set aside their pride to make their relationship work. God showed me that if you don’t know how to love His Son Jesus, then how are you then able to show this love to your family or significant other? As a single person waiting for God’s best in my life, I believe that this is the time we learn to love people in the way God wants us to. Don’t wait to be in a relationship to express it, learn to love people that around you right now. When you cultivate these love languages in your life with the current people you have around you, you will see things differently and appreciate what you have. I know what it’s like to feel bitter about being single, and honestly, God showed me that I had serious issues. I’ve read many articles from people who are in successful relationships trying to encourage us “single folk”, but God impressed in my heart, that it’s time a single person encourages single people because I can identify with us experiencing this season in our lives. I hope that what I’ve written here encourages somebody today.

You are not “alone” or as “lonely” as you think you are. God is with you even when you think this whole thing is lasting forever. But believe me when I say, that this is a time for you to maximize on the current relationship you have with the Lord. Cultivate your time to spend more time in the presence of the King. I feel a fulfilment knowing that God is with me even now. My spiritual giftings have increased in that I am now able to interpret peoples dreams (I’m still growing in this area) and prophecy when prompted by the Holy Spirit to do so, I can discern spirits, and I am still growing in the Lord. Despite all this, God says, “Increase in your ability to LOVE my people”. The greatest gift isn’t all these spiritual gifts that I’ve grown in, it still remains to be LOVE. It doesn’t matter how gifted you end up becoming, God strongly emphasizes that you must have LOVE in your heart for His People.

This is where I learned to shift my focus off of my supposed “loneliness” and cultivated intimacy with the Lord to learn to hear from Him directly. The reason why some of us are deaf to the voice of the Holy Spirit is because we are too self-absorbed in our problems and have not learned to enter into the secret place where the Lord dwells, who seeks intimacy to share His secrets with us.  If you don’t learn to cultivate your relationship with Jesus now, do not assume for one second that you’ll be able to cultivate one with another person here on earth successfully. Do not be deceived. You’ll enter into a relationship rather selfishly since you were already too self-absorbed about your needs and wants, that you’ll never love the other person properly. Learn to Love Jesus and His people and when you cultivate that relationship you’ll be ready to love the other person.

I’ve come to a place where I’m satisfied of my current status. I have learned to ignore those that make fun of my single status at my age, because I believe in God’s perfect timing. I believe that God wants the best for me. Until you get to that place where you trust God fully, you’ll always be miserable and miss out on what’s good around you. I have had the privilege of travelling, and will continue to do that Praise the Lord. I have met so many people, experienced different cultures and now understand that as a single person, you are able to do more in this season. So maximize on what time you have now. The moment you get married, things do change, you will have new responsibilities and people depending on you. It’s a shift of mindset and priorities. It’s also an opportunity to be a blessing to your spouse and your children or future children. But if you aren’t there yet, be a blessing to other people right now, Amen!

34884-The-Joy-Of-The-LordWhen I lost my grandmother, I realised that man…life is short. I’ve come to a place where I appreciate this season of singleness and have learned that you cannot be too self-focused about what you want when you cannot seem to appreciate what’s right in front of you right now. You seriously don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone so don’t regret the opportunity  that you have right now to spend quality time with those that you have around you. Life is short, but it gets shorter when you don’t maximize on what you have right now. Learn to build a heart of gratitude. Being single may seem like hell to you right now as you watch your friends around you in relationships, but that is when you have to learn to love God all the more, Trust God all the more. Believe God all the more. He is the Author and Finisher of your love life. Let God write the script and give Him your paper so that he can author the right relationship for you. However, this means, you must learn to sit at His feet to be able to learn how to hear from God and hear what He says about you.

Rejoice and be merry. Thank God for all that things that He has blessed you with. Find reasons to give God Praise. Stop being bitter. Believe me when I say that it gets you nowhere. You’ll fill yourself up with self-pity and will be blinded by the beauty that is already around you. Learn to cultivate your love for people by learning how Christ loved us and gave His life up for us so that we could do the same and love other people in return in a Christ-life fashion. It doesn’t matter how gifted you are, if you do not have love in your heart, then you are but a clanging cymbal…with no sense of harmony in your life. Love has a beautiful sound…don’t end up being a clanging symbol with a heart of self-entitlement to what the world has to offer you. You are a blessing that is supposed to bless others, so don’t think too highly of yourself and expect to always receive when you’ve been called to be a giver just as God gave us His best, He gave us His Son Jesus. Give your best gift of love to others today, AMEN!

REMEMEBER:

1 Corinthians 13(NKJV)

The Greatest Gift

13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Therefore, for the singles out there that hate this day, let Jesus be your Valentine today. For those that are already in a relationship, Praise the Lord and allow yourself to love Him and He to love you back in return. Even if you don’t acknowledge Jesus today, He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will love you forever. He will walk with you during the storms of life, He will be there for you when you cry, when you rejoice, when you achieve things. Jesus is your greatest cheerleader. He will cheer for you when you’ve done a job well done. He will make a way for you to prosper. He will always be with you every step of the way. He will walk with you through hell and back. He will be there for you when you need Him. Jesus seeks such a great level of intimacy with Him that this is why I’m making Him my valentine. Love God by Loving His people. I challenge you to show love to those that have not received it today. Say a word of encouragement, hug somebody, spend quality time with people, give gifts to those that have never received one, show kindness and serve one another as Jesus has served you.

True-Worship-Sermon-Title1-570x428There’s this song sung by Fred Hammond that comes to mind for this day. It’s called How I love You. I pray that this song blesses your spirit today.

Happy Valentines Everybody and God bless you. :D

Keep Your Lights On

jesus-light-of-the-world_4366_1024x768

Hello People! :)

I’m still on vacation and had the privilege of experiencing an evening without electricity throughout the whole neighbourhood and probably the whole city.  This experience has inspired my new post for today. The message is to keep your lights on. What do I mean by that? Listen people, when you travel in darkness which equals “ignorance” by the way, you simply don’t know where in the world you are going.

672861679dfc4e8844711fe3e7772700Even Jesus says this:

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Jesus also warns us and says this:

Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.

The Light of God which equals “Knowledge” is what you need in order to know which path you ought to take. Jesus is the light of Truth, and He himself confirms this by declaring that He is the way, the truth and the life in:

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

If we walk in darkness/ignorance, the Truth cannot be in us. Ignorance of the truth causes us to lose our way in life.

If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

darknessWe cannot afford to be blinded by the Truth. The truth is what sets us free, but if you are walking in darkness you most certainly are bound by lies. Darkness cannot reveal to you what is lurking in the dark. When the light shines, revelation comes because you can now see. Why do you think it says in the Bible that when the blind man was healed of his blindness by Jesus that he could now say that though he was blind he could now see? It is because Jesus is the hope revealed; He is the Truth, He is the Life and He is the Way.

He answered and said, “Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.”

The Lord keeps saying that “for a Lack of Knowledge”, which I will rephrase to say, “…for a Lack of Light, My People perish”.
REMEMBER THIS:
Light = Revelation/Knowledge/Truth/Life.
Darkness = Concealment/Ignorance/Lies/Death.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

efe21eab8ab2a64ae4402d4c47380181It is so important to tap into the knowledge of the Lord and how do you do that? By Meditating on His Word day and night. If you don’t tap into the knowledge of Christ, you will be forgotten and your children will be forgotten also just because you chose the path of ignorance. Ignorance is not profitable for your soul.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.

You can’t fight what you don’t know. You need knowledge of who your adversary is in order to fight effectively. You cannot operate by presumption…you need to operate in wisdom through the power of the Holy Spirit. Those that operate in presumption often lead themselves into a darker pit of trouble. Do not assume anything. Act like you don’t know everything and learn to lean on the Lord for wisdom. Our limited knowledge base cannot handle the types of attacks that are headed our way. Do not rely on past battles as references to future ones. The future ones may or should I say will be ones that you cannot even fathom or think could happen to you. However, I will say remember your past victories and recognize that those victories had one theme in common, God was in the plan. Make sure that with whatever you do in life, make sure that God is in your plan. If God isn’t in it…then my friend, you will walk in a place of ignorance in the battle and you will incur losses. Jesus is who will preserve your life. Remember when I say that JESUS is the Way the Truth and the LIFE.

I’ll give you an example. There was a cave that I wanted to visit on my vacation that is a pretty famous tourist spot. However, I am aware that many tourists go missing from that location because as beautiful as that place is there is a lot of spiritual history about that place. It is said that if you say foolish things in that place you will go missing. I’ve been making it a plan to go there because my family has been there before, but for some reason, I felt a great foreboding about going there for the past few days. Even my sister who is with me felt it and couldn’t shake it off. I couldn’t shake the feeling off until the day I was supposed to go and had to make a wise decision and cancelled the trip to go to that place.

Listen, I knew it was the Holy Spirit warning me not to go there. Whenever I feel the unction of the Holy Spirit to do or not do something, I simply listen. I don’t ask questions. This is not an occasion where you come with your pride as a “Christian” and assume that simply because you believe in Christ that you can ignore the voice of the Holy Spirit. That is disobedience and Arrogance cannot preserve your life, the wisdom provided by the Holy Spirit can. God won’t back your disobedience when He warns you not to do something through the power of the Holy Spirit so learning to listen and obey God’s voice when He tells you to do something.

As a result, I did not go to that cave since I trust the voice of the Holy Spirit. You don’t need to know everything that God asks you to do, you just need to have the Faith to Trust in His leading. Do you Trust in God’s Leading? Obedience is key here folks.

A story about some tourists who went there to prove that there was nothing to be afraid of concerning that cave went swimming in the pool that is found in that cave, which was what they were warned not to do by the locals who are familiar with the area. As a result, one member of that party of friends went missing because they ignored the locals warnings about how spiritual that cave was and the warnings to not do something stupid. To this day, they cannot find that fellow even though they hired an experienced rescue dive search party to locate their friend. The whole incident was very unfortunate, but this is the result of IGNORANCE. I acted on knowledge and therefore, my life was preserved. Those that act on ignorance….death is sure to follow them.

How many times have you traveled into a dangerous place that you were told or felt you shouldn’t go and still went anyways and found yourself in a precarious situation? It is so important to not act on presumption. Remain humble and learn to follow your gut instincts which most likely is the Holy Spirit talking to you and asking you to listen to His voice when making a decision about something important. Keep your lights on! Keep operating in the wisdom of the Lord, ALWAYS. It says in His Word that:

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Learn to put your trust in God who is able to show you the way when hope seems bleak. When you don’t know where you are going, Lean on God again. He will direct your path.

Here is a song by Lauren Daigle called Light of the World. It’s not to be confused with the other song that some people know with the same title. May this Song bless your spirit today. Love y’all :D

My God Will Fight for Me

cc4ebdec701e3e63fba6762280c36256

Hi Everybody,

Today is the final day of the 21 day fast that I was participating in with my church. I feel like this fast was quite challenging and yet eye opening for me. Lots of things were revealed to me as I immersed myself in the Word and stayed in that place of worship. I couldn’t afford to be distracted…Sometimes I stay quiet during these times and weird things happen, but at the same time I feel like my senses are sharpening to hear the Holy Spirit clearly that sometimes when I’m at work I would say certain things to some people and they would happen as I had said they would. I give God all the praise because GOD is AWESOME! :)

I have seen visions and have had dreams which show me where I must go and what I must do and certain things that are yet to come. I cannot emphasize that you should not down play the workings of the Holy Spirit functioning in your life. It is at those times that when you feel lost that you need true guidance, a word of encouragement or a spoken word in season that can direct your path. The only thing you have to do is lean on God for understanding, and I mean completely lean on God for understanding. Like I said before, your intellect nor your might and power is sufficient enough to deal with the types of challenges you may face this year.  We as people need to become totally dependent on God, especially in a crisis. Will you obey the voice of the Holy Spirit this year?

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”’

jesus-walks-on-water

I know of a few friends of mine are going through a crisis right about now, and the only thing I can say to that is that at the end of the day, you have to exalt God above your circumstances. You must be thinking “Yeah Sherline, easy for you to say, you’re not the one in this mess”. Well, yes I may not be in your mess, but I have my own sets of challenges that I have to face and can tell you based on experience that exalting a problem gets you nowhere.

The more we magnify a problem the more we are blinded and fail to see the One who is the Solution to the Problem.

Our solution is wrapped up in Jesus. We cannot afford to exalt our problems above God. God is the one who is able to see us through the storms of life. When Peter walked on water, he did it by faith by simply Fixing his eyes on Jesus. The moment he shifted his gaze to view the storm he was walking into, he began to sink because His focus broke away from the One that was walking with Him in that storm. His eyes left Jesus to focus on his circumstances and that is where he started sink in the storm.  My message to you today is FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS. He is the Author and Finisher of your faith, so do not magnify your problems above Jesus, otherwise, you’ll start to sink in them just like Peter did when he shifted his focus off of Jesus.

Matthew 14:28-30 (NKJV)

28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”

29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous,[a] he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

sinking

The Holy Spirit can guide you if you allow your ears to incline to his wisdom and understanding.

Proverbs 2:1-6 (NKJV)

The Value of Wisdomefe21eab8ab2a64ae4402d4c47380181

My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
And find the knowledge of God.

In no way am I saying that the fight will be easy with whatever battle that you face, however, you still have to fight. You cannot afford to back-out, back-down or  sleep this one through hoping that the trial will simply disappear. You have to learn to face your battles head on and acknowledge that fact that you will tackle with the spirit of fear, depression, oppression, including the spirit of death and that is why you need to strengthen your spirit man for each battle by saturating yourself with the Word of God. WEAR YOUR ARMOR PEOPLE! (Ephesians 6). Your battle is completely spiritual…never forget that.

I remember the times where I battled suicidal thoughts and at one point almost succeeded taking my own life until my Grandmother stepped in when I went through a lot of spiritual oppression that was too difficult for me to bear. I was sick and tired of battling demonic forces that I couldn’t see in the natural but could see when I had these nightmares. I had severe nightmares when I was a child that would end up being physically tormenting in that I would lose control of my body as it would twist in ways that I had no control over (think exorcist here) until I cried out the name of “Jesus” would the torment stop for the night. I remember seeing angels beside my bed when I was younger when these things would happen and all they would say to me was “Cry out the name of Our Lord Jesus and He will help you” and I would and the nightly attacks would end.  There is something about that Name Jesus, that makes the difference when you are faced with something that is beyond your control or capacity to deal with. So when I say fight…I’m not saying this as some shallow advice with no experience to back it up, I’m speaking from experience. The fact is Christians, you will face trouble in this world, but Jesus told us this one thing… Take heart, for I have overcome the world.

John 16:33 [Full Chapter]

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Jesus has already confirmed that we can overcome anything that we face when He is on our side. Jesus will fight with you when you face a crisis, but you must first acknowledge Him in your battle. Many people or should I say, many Christians head into battle without their armor and experience heavy losses  in their lives because they simply thought they knew better in terms of how to go into that battle. When you include God in your battle, you have assured victory, but it takes humility to know that you need to set aside your pride and arrogance in order to let God step into your situation and win the war against your soul.

My question to you today is will you allow God in your battle? Food for thought.

I have this song by Martha Munizzi called My God is a Big God with the Reprise. This song will help you magnify God in your life. I pray that it blesses your spirit today. I will soon be traveling so I won’t be able to blog for a while but I just wanted to leave off with this note of encouragement to anyone facing a crisis. God is with you, just believe that and include Him in all your battles this year, Amen! God bless y’all :D

Hope is what we Crave

small_812218ac9c53a99bbe9b8e5f

Hello Everybody!

f551c49317faa4dc520f2a11e9b40ec6There’s this song that I’ve been listening to that’s just awesome. It’s by for King and Country called Hope is what we Crave. I sense in my spirit that there are people out there facing self-condemnation.

In Christ there is no condemnation but redemption. Nothing you have done, thought and/or said can keep you from being forgiven. My challenge for those of you beating yourself up about your past mistakes is to learn to forgive yourself. Forgiveness releases you from depression, bitterness, anger, fear and doubt. Don’t exalt or magnify your mistakes either...it’s very easy to get too caught up in that so rather lean on the redeeming power of Jesus Christ that will embrace you like a father who welcomed back his prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32) . BELIEVE you are forgiven and move on. I’m not saying continue to sin…I’m saying, learn to repent and change your heart to be more like the loving Father.

And for those that love pointing fingers at others, make sure that there isn’t one pointing right back at YOU. God is not pleased when we make fun of others for their mistakes or weaknesses. The same measure you judge another person is the same that will be used against you. We must be a people that understand the meaning of Compassion. If you don’t have it, then get it.

Matthew 7 [Full Chapter]

[ Do Not Judge ] “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?

2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (NKJV)

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

Romans 8:1

[ Free from Indwelling Sin ] There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Sometimes it’s hard to comprehend to love or should I say the Agape Love of the Father when we are imperfect in our own love. Perfect love casts out fear so learn to abide in the love of the Father.

1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

[ Love and Joy Perfected ] “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.

There is literally nothing in heaven or earth that can keep you from the Love of God.  You have to be persuaded to believe that though. In order to believe, you must first have Faith that this Love He has for you is unchanging. People may change around you but God’s love never changes towards you. Circumstances may rock you, and you may even fail sometimes, but God’s love will always be there to carry you when you’re down.

Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV)

38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I don’t believe that when a child is disobedient and does something that upsets their images (1)parents that all of a sudden the parent stops loving them. Good/God-fearing parents never stop loving their children and in the same way, God never stops loving you even if we may upset Him with our disobedience sometimes, His love never changes for you. That’s why it is good news to know that you can be redeemed. A contrite spirit is one that God does not despise so bask in God’s love for you today.

Psalm 34:18

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.

I pray that this song encourages you today and blesses your spirit. God bless you everybody :D

We can do the IMPOSSIBLE

Cropped

Happy Sunday EVERYBODY!

I just got this awesome song in my spirit right now to uplift you if you’re feeling down about your situation. It’s by Bryan Popin called I Can Make It! I don’t know what it is that you’re facing right now but you need to know that the God inside of you is saying YOU CAN DO THE IMPOSSIBLE. You have Christ in you the hope of Glory and because He lives inside of you, He will make a way out of no way for you.

Colossians 1:27

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

the-greatest-pleasure-in-life-is-doing-what-people-say-you-cannot-do-life-quoteI believe strongly that God will make Provision for whatever Vision you have for this year. Just go back to Him if you turned away from Him before. He is willing to embrace you again like the father that embraced the prodigal son who ran off doing whatever he wanted, having fun and wasting what was left of his inheritance.

In order for you to do the impossible this year, you have to shift your mindset. You can only be transformed when you start to renew your mind. You have to put away the childish behaviours of yesterday and tap into the meat of God’s Word for this year.

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

You cannot afford to be emotional about everything. It’s time to build some back-bone in your spirit. How else can you remain steadfast if you’re always cowering away from every test, obstacle or set back. The reason why we overcome by faith in the first place is because you will face tests, you will face trouble but you have to take heart and know that with Jesus on your side, you can overcome anything that’s in this world.

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

John 16:33

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Yes, disappointments may come, people might let you down, you may even be frustrated by yourself this year….but I repeat, fix your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your Faith. You will pull through, you will make it. Do not be discouraged, do not be dismayed. There are more for you than there are against you. Understand that you will face an intense spiritual battle this year, so you must guard you heart, guard your mind from negative thoughts, guard your spirit by wearing your armor at all times.

Whether you realize this or not, you are already enlisted to fight in the good fight of FAITH for this year. Don’t act like you aren’t a soldier for Christ by putting your head in the sand. Many people remain weak in the church because they simply don’t want to fight the battle that’s right in front of them. Stop waiting for others to fight your own battles...pick up your sword (The Word of God) and Fight. You cannot imagine the frustration I feel sometimes when I see complacent Christians in the church not wanting to confront injustice, not wanting the challenge the status quo because you’re too afraid of what sister or brother so and so will say about it. God is in the business of restoring righteousness with His people this year…so yes, that means challenging the current status quo. You will have something to contend with. David had to fight Goliath…so church of Jesus Christ, it is an expectation that you will learn to slay some giants this year. Can I get an Amen to that? ….ohhhhh the silence…

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

im-possibleAlso remember, to give God praise for every victory that he gives you, because you know, had it not been for God, where would you have been? Do not forget Him and puff yourself up with PRIDE.
Pride will kill your destiny if you let it take root in your life.
Yes, you can make it, but remember Who brought you to your increase? Who brought you to your promotion?  Who brought you to your elevation? Who blessed you beyond your comprehension?
Don’t miss the boat and choose to remain humble at all times. When God blesses you, don’t forget Him in the process. I can’t stress that enough. People can miss it when they get excited about receiving their breakthroughs…but the true test is what you do after you’ve made it?…Do you stop going to church after that…do you refuse to bring your tithes and offerings to God like you used to? do you stop praying…? are you too awesome that you can’t even lift your hand up to praise Him anymore…? Please don’t miss it when you make it this year.
I will repeat…HUMILITY IS KEY.

Don’t forsake God this year…include Him in all your plans and you will surely be successful in all that you do, AMEN. I pray that this song blesses your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody :)

Humility will Promote You in your Destiny

hezekiah-reformers-header

Hello Everybody!

My church and I have commenced a 21 Day Fast starting Jan 4, 2016 although I started on the 1st personally and we are on day 5 of the Fast. I shared a message last night with our members still on the topic of King Hezekiah. Listen, if you read my Prayer for 2016 you will have noticed that King Hezekiah started to restore righteousness in the church (temple) with the people of Jerusalem since the previous King Ahaz had made a mess of things by introducing idols into the temple, stopping the practice of people bringing their tithes and offerings into the Storehouse…and the list goes on. The end result of all that mess was that the people suffered desolation and trouble because they denied their worship to the ONE true God.

[ Ahaz Reigns in Judah ] Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem; and he did not do what was right in the sight of the Lord, as his father David had done.

I remember telling our members that You become what you worship. If you worship a singer (e.g. Michael Jackson)…you’ll imitate his mannerisms, dance style, clothing style etc to the point that you’ll look exactly like him…I’m using him as an example because I’ve seen fans…and then I’ve seen FANS…..extreme fans that is. I’m not saying that it’s wrong to like someone’s abilities…but don’t make them your god. There is a fine line between mere admiration and worship. Don’t cross the line. If you worship Jesus, in the same way, you will become like Him in your mannerisms, speech, and appearance. Choose today whom you’ll serve/worship because this year has a strong correlation to worship. What you worship in this year will determine the way you end your year (if you make it that is). I know what I’m saying might not seem cosy for your heart right now…but I feel led to address some stuff that are pretty much black and white with no gray areas for you to feel doubt about what I’m saying.

God is interested in RIGHTEOUSNESS being restored this year and it all begins with YOU.music_temple

King Hezekiah started the first Month of the year with cleaning out the temple with the help of the Levites and the priests. The Levites ended up being more sanctified than the priests and ended up taking up tasks that should have been the job of the Priests but because they had not finished going through that process of purification and sanctification, the Levites who were always in a state of sanctification started to take on more work to clean God’s house. You can read all about it in 2 Chronicles Chapters 29-31 for yourself. If you are a worshiper, this is the level in which we as Christians should reach. Consecration is what God is seeking from us this year…to be in right-standing. In no way am I saying that this is an easy task…but the truth of the matter is…we need to go back to that place where churches start talking about the importance of HOLINESS again. I don’t know why the message of Holiness has been silenced, but as a person hearing the heart-beat of God, I know this is what He wants restored for the year 2016 with His People. If you want Jesus to be your God, then you have to want to be His people.

Anyway, back to the message I spoke last night: Hezekiah did all he could to set the people of Jerusalem back on the right path by restoring the foundation of righteousness and faith that was broken among the people because of the mess left by the previous King Ahaz. He (Hezekiah) as a leader made GOD important to the nation by putting Him First and because he did that, King Hezekiah prospered in all that He did and had the Lord’s attention.

2 Chronicles 31:20 – 20 Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah, and he did what was good and right and true before the Lord his God. 21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, in the law and in the commandment, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart. So he prospered.

In this year you will face a fierce battle if your agenda is to restore righteousness in your life and in the life of the church.

This message isn’t intended to make you feel fear, because fear is not of God, but what God showed me through the passage below that I have pasted From 2 Chronicles chapter 32 is that the King of Assyria is like a person who comes out to mock you, harass you, threaten you, undermine you and what you stand for. Such a person will even boast of how they stole your opportunities, stole your house, car, wife, husband, children or any blessing  you had in your life because they are filled with so much pride and arrogance simply because they are ruthless and they don’t care what they do to get ahead of you in life.

The devil doesn’t play around people… so WAKE UP!

You cannot afford to be complacent this year…you have to learn to FIGHT the good fight of FAITH.

If you purpose in your heart to go back to that place where you humble yourself before God, you will be victorious in the battles that you face.

REMEMBER: HUMILITY IS POWER UNDER SELF-CONTROL. It is the place you set yourself aside (even when you don’t have to) and allow God to step in. The question is, how many people do that these days??????? It’s the question of the day I tell you.

The fight this year isn’t going to be won by your own might or power…your intellect alone isn’t sufficient to deal with what’s coming, but I’m here to tell you that in this battle there is a method that will assure your victory. That method is called HUMILITY and WISDOM.  You cannot afford to react to the same attacks you experienced from the past in this year. You have to develop SELF-CONTROL.   Let’s read this scripture:

2 Chronicles 32 (NKJV)

Sennacherib Boasts Against the Lord

32 After these deeds of faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and entered Judah; he encamped against the fortified cities, thinking to win them over to himself. 2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come, and that his purpose was to make war against Jerusalem, 3 he consulted with his leaders and commanders[a] to stop the water from the springs which were outside the city; and they helped him. 4 Thus many people gathered together who stopped all the springs and the brook that ran through the land, saying, “Why should the kings[b] of Assyria come and find much water?” 5 And he strengthened himself, built up all the wall that was broken, raised it up to the towers, and built another wall outside; also he repaired the Millo[c] in the City of David, and made weapons and shields in abundance. 6 Then he set military captains over the people, gathered them together to him in the open square of the city gate, and gave them encouragement, saying, 7 Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is  with him; for there are more with us than with him. 8 With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

9 After this Sennacherib king of Assyria sent his servants to Jerusalem (but he and all the forces quote___humility_by_takaonguitars-d5qpfrawith him laid siege against Lachish), to Hezekiah king of Judah, and to all Judah who were in Jerusalem, saying, 10 “Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria: ‘In what do you trust, that you remain under siege in Jerusalem? 11 Does not Hezekiah persuade you to give yourselves over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, “The Lord our God will deliver us from the hand of the king of Assyria”? 12 Has not the same Hezekiah taken away His high places and His altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, “You shall worship before one altar and burn incense on it”? 13 Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands in any way able to deliver their lands out of my hand? 14 Who was there among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly destroyed that could deliver his people from my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you from my hand? 15 Now therefore, do not let Hezekiah deceive you or persuade you like this, and do not believe him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you from my hand?’”

16 Furthermore, his servants spoke against the Lord God and against His servant Hezekiah.

[The King of Assyria was being such a bully here that he had to bring a gang to harass Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem]

17 He also wrote letters to revile the Lord God of Israel, and to speak against Him, saying, “As the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver His people from my hand.” 18 Then they called out with a loud voice in Hebrew[d] to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to frighten them and trouble them, that they might take the city. 19 And they spoke against the God of Jerusalem, as against the gods of the people of the earth—the work of men’s hands.

[The fact that he even had to write letters tells me that people might even email you, text you and harass you in this method as well]

Sennacherib’s Defeat and Death

20Now because of this King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah, the son of Amoz, prayed and cried out to heaven.

[Hezekiah did the right thing…he humbled himself before God and prayed. The truth is, he could have responded to the King of Assyria in violence, but he knew that the battle was too great for him to rely on his own might and power, he needed the spirit of God to help him with this battle. His humility is what produced a victorious outcome for Him and the people of Jerusalem]

21 Then the Lord sent an angel who cut down every mighty man of valor, leader, and captain in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned shamefaced to his own land. And when he had gone into the temple of his god, some of his own offspring struck him down with the sword there.

[The end for the King of Assyria was SHAME and DEATH. God struck every leader what was in cahoots with the King of Assyria leaving him powerless to the point that he returned back home in shame and his own children who are his own relatives are what killed him. It just goes to show that PRIDE goes before a fall, and a haughty spirit before destruction. HUMILITY IS KEY]

22 Thus the Lord saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all others, and guided them[e] on every side. 23 And many brought gifts to the Lord at Jerusalem, and presents to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations thereafter.

The humility King Hezekiah demonstrated in this attack is based on the kind of relationship he had with the Lord his God. God wants us to have this level if humility this year so that when you do face a crisis or a series of crises, you will have a strong head on your shoulder to seek His face to help you win the battle that you face. You cannot rely on previous methods with the types of attacks that may come in your life this year. LEARN TO LEAN ON JESUS.

 Matthew 23:12

And whoever exalts himself will behumbled, and he who humbles himself will beexalted.

Points the remember:

  • People will/may harass you during this year – they will poke fun at your faith and mock armor-god1
    your God
. They might even write about you to their supervisors to tempt you to strike back in anger. Your role is to not give in to the harassment. Have self-control and know where you stand.
  • People will threaten to steal your blessings but you shall not be moved
  • People will try to shame you but God will put them to shame
  • People will try to attack you using various methods but God will rescue you and protect you and your household
  • People will try to steal from you but God will help you recover all
  • People will exalt themselves before you but God will humble them in your presence by preparing a table before your enemies.
  • When God gives you victory because you decided to fight the good fight of faith in what you believe in and remained humble, you will be exalted and you will be promoted

God wants to do New things with us this year but you have to be open to instruction, love mercy, act justly and pursue wisdom.

You cannot afford to react the same way to the same attack in the year 2016.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, allthings have become new.

Promotion requires WISDOMed7a00378576c9b492ca240a105f3540

Proverbs 4:7-9 (NKJV)

7 Wisdom is the principal thing;

Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding.
8 Exalt her, and she will promote you;
She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.
9 She will place on your head an ornament of grace;
A crown of glory she will deliver to you.”

James 4:6

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

Here is a song from Kevin Levar and One Sound called Destiny. May this song bless your spirit everybody! Love ya :D

The Promise

i-saw-jesus

Hello Everyone,

I have no intention of making this a long post since I have to go to church soon, however, there is this song that’s in my spirit sung by Tiff Joy called The Promise. This song speaks of restoration and how the promises of God shall come to pass. I don’t know what you are believing for, but I know one thing for sure is that you’ll have the learn to stand on God’s Word this Year. His Word never returns void. It has to accomplish what He sends it out to do so speak into your situation and learn to block out the voices that increase doubts rather than increase your Faith.

Isaiah 55:11 [Full Chapter]

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

The language of God only speaks Faith...if anything is contrary to that language, you have the right to block out the noise and lean onto God’s Word. I’m not saying it’s easy to lean on God, because people tend to think they know better than God and listen to their own limited methods of reasoning and intellect, but I guarantee, His Word is worth fighting the good fight of faith for. You haven’t got time to entertain nonsense when you have to tune your spirit to obey God’s voice.  This year is soley based on how far you are willing to Hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to YOU, His Church.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

Understand this, His sheep know His voice…if you don’t know what He’s saying to you, then you might have to consider that you are distracted and need to find yourself in a quiet place to hear Him clearly. I pray that this song blesses your spirit today. God bless you everybody :D
