Don’t forget you are a Christian

Hello Everybody! Today, I would like to touch on a subject that I feel led to talk about. For the past few days, the Holy Spirit has been urging me to tell people that “You should never forget that you are a Christian”. It seems like a “duh” comment, but when you really think about it, how many of us forget that this is our identity? The reason I feel I need to bring this topic up is because lately, we forget that “the enemies of God still hate God, and they don’t care for you either” (I got that from Fred Hammond’s song “No Weapon”) :) . Are you still wondering why bad things are happening to you even though you consider yourself a “good” person, are you wondering why your money is getting tight and you’re running low on resources? Are  you still wondering why your family members are acting crazy all of a sudden when things were going well? are you still wondering….?

It’s because you are a Christian.

Spiritual warfare isn’t something that you switch on and off and can go to sleep when you want to. The moment you identify yourself as a Christian, literally, it’ll seem like “All hell broke loose” because that is when you have enlisted yourself into spiritual warfare with the devil and the battle rages on. It’s ever ongoing, ever-present and if you read your Bible, you would know that the Enemy, the devil is a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. If your enemy doesn’t sleep well at night because he is roaming around seeking to steal, kill and destroy your blessings and your life, then why is it as Christians, we put ourselves on “sleep mode” thinking that nothing bad will happen? The battle that you face in your life is not your physical life itself, it is a battle against your faith, and faith specifically towards Jesus Christ as Lord over your Life. What you believe in is what you identify yourself with and believing in Christ is a spiritual battle because Jesus didn’t come to save our physical bodies since we will all die one day. He came to save our souls and our spirits and therefore, what you are up against isn’t anything natural, it is a supernatural battle that manifests itself in your natural world.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

We cannot afford to be complacent folks. Persecution is real and it won’t go away just because you decide to put your head under the sand. Every challenge you face right now is in light of the fact that 1.) you are a Christian, 2.) you are a Christian, and 3.) you’re still a Christian. Troubles won’t disappear when what you stand for is a threat to the enemy at all times, Not sometimes, ALL TIMES. That is why we must be vigilant, we have to be alert, we have to remain awake and face the fact that there’s nothing new under the sun, and that in this world you will have trouble, but what does Jesus say? He says, “Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the World” John 16:33 .

The World will impress upon you to adopt a different identity or identities, but as Christians, the fact that you chose Christ, you have made Him become part of your Identity. We can dress in worldly clothes all we want, but if you’ve chosen Christ as your Savior, not even clothes can strip you of that identity. Now, I know that some religious folk will have something to say about that, and I’m not going to argue here about it. Instead, just think of someone like Lecrae. He isn’t dressed up like a typical church person in a suit and yet he stands firm in his belief and is outspoken about his identity as a Christian in the music industry. We can’t limit God with how and who he chooses to use to make an impact on the world by embracing Christ as part of their identity. Stop putting God in a box, God can use a rapper as much as he can use a basketball player, an actor or lawyer, etc to do His will. The whole point is, no matter what your dressed in, if Christ is part of your identity then you shouldn’t forget that you are a Christian.

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the worldour faith.

You are Born of God and that is also a threat to the World as we know it. Because as it says in 1 John 5:4, that those that are born of God have the ability and the authority to overcome the things of this world. You do this on the basis of your FAITH. What you place your faith in will determine on what basis you will choose to either overcome or be subdued by the systems of this world. If you choose Christ as your standard, you can overcome, and have overcome; however, if you choose the world as your standard, you are subdued and lack identity because the world’s definition is always in a state of flux, there is no fixed standard when you choose to identify with Fads, with what’s “popular” (at the time), and with what’s “cool” and “widely accepted”. Just because something is widely accepted doesn’t make it “right” nor “Christ-like”. If you choose Christ as your identity, then recognize that the Faith you have, is Jesus Personified. Jesus already overcame the world and therefore, you share the same identity as Him by being an overcomer of the systems of this World. He is the standard to your identity. The heart of Jesus remains unchanged toward you and everybody else in the world.  He came that we would have life and life more abundantly (John 10:10). The World may change its heart towards you and spit you out countless times, but Jesus is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever. Therefore, you must remain secure about your identity in Him as a Christian.

John 10:10

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

You cannot afford to be having an “identity-crisis” as it were. If you read your Bible, you will already know that Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the World.

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Everything regarding your Identity is based on what you KNOW about yourself as a Christian. If you didn’t know the few scriptures that I’ve just mentioned in this post or have just remembered a few of them and not because you have been actively meditating on them for yourself,  then you’ve got to ask yourself, how much of your identity as a Christian have you embraced? Do you KNOW who you are in Christ?

Contrary to “popular” opinion, “What you don’t know can hurt you”.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

The biggest tool used against Christians in today’s world is Ignorance. What people don’t know can hurt them. If you don’t know your authority, your ability, your purpose in life, your God, and your salvation, you truly are a lost person. If you don’t know something, then pursue knowledge actively. Laziness and complacency attracts poverty and destruction. If you want to avoid strife in your life, then get to know your God more, and learn more about what He says about you. I don’t have to tell you what to wear, or what to do when all that information is in the Bible. The question is, are you even reading it? Are you simply waiting for a Sunday service to get your Word fix? If you are, you are being Lazy, and you truly don’t know what battle you are facing right now.

Have I offended you? GOOD, because you need to be offended in order to face reality my friend. The Devil doesn’t play, and neither should you by playin’ around. Go back to the source of your Salvation which is in Jesus Christ and read the Word of God (the Bible) to understand what the Word says about you. You have to know how God defines you, rather than remain ignorant and accept any definition that the world has to offer about you. Ignorance is no bliss…ignorance is a curse.

Your God-given identity is not wrapped up in material things, it is a spiritual identity that takes shape in various shapes, sizes and colours since God created each one of us uniquely and we are all said to be Fearfully and Wonderfully made. We seriously haven’t got time to criticize other people prejudicially when Jesus tells us to “Love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34-35) . Put your biases aside towards other people and focus on understanding your OWN identity rather than poking fun at another person’s identity. That’s just nonsense. When we bicker amongst our fellow brothers and sisters criticizing them on superficial things like their attire, their hair, their skin, the accents, etc, the devil laughs at us because he knows that people are acting like fools if they are busy making fun of their brothers and sisters. It tells the enemy that you simply can’t identify that you are making fun of God at the same time when you do that so STOP IT.

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.

This topic on knowing who you are as a Christian is a Sermon all by itself. I could go on and on, but I just wanted to touch base and let you know that what I felt led to capture in this post today is this message that the Holy Spirit has been urging me to tell people for a while now. And that is,

I can’t emphasis this enough, but that is the main message so think about it today and ask yourself who do you identify yourself with? Is it God, is it some pop singer? an idol? who are you and who or what defines you? Do you even know who you are? Think about it SERIOUSLY.

I have a song here by Adia ft. Jessica Reedy called Behind Enemy Lines. This song has been in my spirit for a while and I pray that it blesses your spirit today as you contemplate on what it means to have Christ as part of your Identity. God Bless You Everybody!!!!

Tapping into God’s Agenda

Love of God

Hi Everybody!

So Today I want to focus on us as Christians tapping into God’s Agenda for this Year of Divine Grace. Stop what your doing and listen for just a moment. Ask yourself this question…“Are you where you should be right now?” if the answer is “No”, then consider that you are outside God’s agenda, you are outside God’s plan for your life, you are traveling on the road of mediocrity that leads to nowhere and realizing that that isn’t where you want to be will lead you to look back, turn around and walk back on God’s designed path for your life. It says in God’s Word to …seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you [emphasis added] – (Matthew 6:33).

What does that really mean?

It doesn’t mean that if you do church activities “in the sight of God” you’ll get blessed like a “get rich quick scheme”. It means that in your heart of hearts, you personally make it your priority to advance God’s agenda on earth which is to fulfill the great commission of discipling nations and teaching them about what the Word of God says about the Kingdom of Heaven and what Jesus did for us at Calvary. Jesus was always talking about the Kingdom when He was teaching his disciples and followers and in the same way that is what we have to do in this life too. We have to make people aware that the Kingdom of God is real and near them. It’s great that we are saved, but there are countless others out there that need to hear the same good news that will bring them out of the kingdom of darkness and into the glorious one filled with light. We need to ensure that we aren’t simply occupying space on Earth until we get to Heaven. We need to care about our unsaved brothers and sisters as well.

God’s Agenda

Did you know that you are part of God’s plan? If you are walking outside of His will, you will find 6cc2d944f6cfb62b30e00d1fae1f8ca5that where you are right now is leaving you with feelings of depression, dissatisfaction, frustration, worry, uncertainty, obscurity and doubt. You aren’t aligned with God’s purpose for your life if you aren’t making it a point to advance God’s agenda in your life. You were made for a purpose, a great one at that and that is why it is important that you get back on track. Get back on God’s track, more specifically. You may have many reasons and excuses to avoid God’s plan and path for your life, but I tell you the truth, you will end up with a wondering spirit looking for things to fill up the empty spaces and voids in your life if you keep ignoring the fact that God placed you here to advance His Kingdom. You must be Kingdom-minded, Kingdom-motivated and Kingdom-driven to preach the gospel of Truth to the Nations. If you have not made it a point to share the message of salvation with others in your life, aren’t you “missing the mark” (also defined as “sin”)? You can’t be simply satisfied that you alone are going to Heaven while others are perishing. If you are thinking in this way then you truly do not understand the Heart of Jesus.

Keep Seeking God

How do I advance the message of the Kingdom? Use what you know best, but in all things prayer is the first thing you should do. Seek God to give you direction on how to pursue His agenda effectively. Talk to your Church leaders to get their advice. Get involved with your community and find opportunities to testify about what the Lord has done in your life. I’m sure there is something that you can give God praise for. Your entire life is a testimony of the goodness of God. Seek God and it’s alright to not have all the answers. That is why you must seek first the Kingdom in the first place. God knows that you need His help in order to satisfy the call on your life so get serious and go down on bended knee and fast if necessary.

Matthew 7:7-8 NKJV

[ Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking ] “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

What is my calling?

If you don’t know what your calling is then this is an indication that you need to pray and seek God more in your life. You maybe feeling lost and unsure about where you need to be, but your calling is tied to your giftings. Your job could be the very tool God wants to use to impact other people’s lives. Do not limit God with your limited way of thinking because God is limitless. You have to decide right now that today, you are going to make God’s agenda your top priority this year. You are actively going to make an effort to share the message about the Kingdom with others. You will no longer shy away from testifying about God’s goodness in your life. You will make it a point that Jesus is still relevant and needed in other people’s lives. God will create the platform for you. All you have to do is step out and reach out by Faith. Stop overthinking things and just act and be moved by faith.

You won’t always get it perfect all the time, but that is why it says in the Word that it is through Him we become perfected when we keep His Word.

1 John 2:5

But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

The important point is to share what we know about Jesus to others. People need to know that God loves them and that it is not His will that any should perish, but that all would have everlasting life (2 Peter 3:9; John 3:16). My concern is that the theology of today has got us so caught up in storing up treasures for ourselves here on Earth that we have put the great commission on the back burner. It’s great to get blessed, but don’t allow your blessings to get you to lose focus on God’s agenda.  I don’t think that God is pleased.

Matthew 16:26

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Let’s tap into God’s Agenda everybody. Let’s not lose our focus to the distractions of life and remember why we are here. We are here to do what it says in Isaiah 61:

[ The Good News of Salvation ] “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

So today, Seek God’s face and repent of not pursuing God to the fullest in the way that we should. Let’s put God first again and work towards fulfilling our God-given purpose in Him. Let God continue to direct your path, Amen! God Bless you everybody! :D

Let God Direct Your Path

Hi Everybody!
I’m back from vacation and I  just wanted to give praise to God for making it the best I’ve ever had in a long while. Three weeks away from the noise and the distractions in my life have led me to feel so rejuvenated that I feel convinced that this year will be an amazing, dynamic, transforming and innovative year.

Everything from this point on is based on perspective. As I was praying to God during my holidays, the Holy Spirit showed me that a lot of things we go through in life are based on one of two perspectives; (1) It’s either we do things or experience things from our own perspective; or (2) we view our circumstances from God’s perspective.
Ask yourself, in light of where you are right now, how are you seeing your world? Is your worldview coming from your short-sighted carnal lens? Or are you allowing God to help you see clearly using His set of supernatural lenses?
The way in which you perceive your world today is the way in which you will choose to function in it.
Most of our reactions to situations are based on our perception of a situation. If you have a negative view of things, you will function with that negative under-tone in all that you do. If you have a positive view of the world, then you will function with that positive tone in all that you do. Many a time, we like to take things into our own hands and do things our own way, but lately, God has been showing me that it’s time we give the Holy Spirit some room to function in our lives since it is not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).

Today’s post comes from a contemplation of this scripture from:
Proverbs 3:6 – In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

How many of us take the time to pray before we make a decision about something which even includes even the smallest of things in your tasks (i.e. shopping)? Many people want to hear from the Holy Spirit but they don’t want to include the Holy Spirit in their daily affairs. The Holy Spirit talks to us everyday, but it is up to us to take the time to make room for Him to voice His instructions. If you want to learn to hear from the Holy Spirit, you will have to learn to obey Him when he instructs you to do something. This is how you sharpen your hearing to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to YOU the Church of Jesus Christ. When you give room for the Holy Spirit to speak you will increase in your spiritual discernment and sensitivity towards the things of the spirit.
In this particular year of Divine Grace, you will have to quicken your spirit to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying. Many of your struggles right now are based on acts of disobedience and lack of attention to the Holy Spirit’s voice. It may sound hard to believe, but you sit down and do an inventory of your actions and ask yourself how many times did you consult or take the time to pray before deciding to take a course of action? Be honest with yourself. In fact, I’ll be the first to put my hand up and confess that there were times that I leaped into something head first without consulting the Lord on whether or not my decision was the right course of action to take and only discovered my mistakes after-the-fact. You don’t want to move in that level of mediocrity this year.
Don’t strive to build things with your own hands (Might and Power) without consulting with the Holy Spirit this year. If you do things like that, you will be actually working against yourself and you will indeed labour in vain. The Holy Spirit wants to guide you in the right direction which requires your ability to remain attentive, patient, and obedient. If you cannot master your ability to listen and obey to simple instructions, then you will block yourself from receiving instructions that could lead you to greener pastures.
Our perception of obedience must be changed in order to move away from doing things from our own will and actively pursuing God’s will. God’s will for your life is to prosper as your souls prospers, but if  you aren’t taking the time to pay attention to him, you might just “miss the mark” Also consider that “missing the mark” is also defined as “sin“.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.”’

This should be your goal this year. Make it a point to seek God’s face this year and learn to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will guide you to people that will either show you the answer, be the answer or are a sign that you are heading in the right direction.  Learn to humble yourself and expect that your answers will come from the least likely of sources so do not judge prejudicially a book by its cover.
You want to prosper? Then focus on letting your ego step aside for a moment and give more room for the Holy Spirit to take over in your daily affairs. The more room you give to  allow the Holy Spirit to function in your life, the more you will be able to grow spiritually sensitive to hear God’s voice and incline your ears to instructions. You will avoid so much strife by learning to humble yourself to take heed to the Holy Spirit’s voice.
Some of you maybe asking, how do I hear from Him? You must first immerse yourself in the Word (the Bible) in order to know when the Lord is speaking to you. If you don’t know any of His Word, then how can you expect to learn to hear and recognize His voice in the first place?
A great analogy would be when you listen to a familiar song on the radio and you immediately know who sang the song and what the lyrics are to that song. How were you able to know who was singing if you didn’t read the lyrics, familiarize or meditate on the song? You wouldn’t be able to without doing those things, so in the same way, God instructs us to meditate on the Word of God Day and Night and to not have this Word depart from our mouths so that when we incline our ears to understanding we will be able to recognize the Holy Spirit’s voice. Make this your goal this year and seek God with all your heart, soul, and mind. God Bless your everybody.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

[ A Book of Remembrance ] Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

This song that I’m posting is one that I have posted before from Hillsongs United called Oceans. May this song bless your spirit today. :)

2014 in review

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 56,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 21 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Worship Sunday: The Great I AM

Happy Sunday Everybody!

I just had to post this awesome song called The Great I AM by PHILLIPS, CRAIG & DEAN. This song is just filling up my spirit and I just had to share this song with y’all. I will post the video of this song being sung by LaRue Howard. It just sounds AWESOME. I pray that it blesses your spirit today. God Bless you Everybody! :)

Here are the lyrics:

 “Great I Am”

I want to be close, close to Your side
So Heaven is real and death is a lie
I want to hear voices of angels above
Singing as one

Hallelujah, holy, holy
God Almighty, the great I AM
Who is worthy, none beside Thee
God Almighty, the great I AM

I want to be near, near to Your heart
Loving the world and hating the dark
I want to see dry bones living again
Singing as one

The great I AM

The mountains shake before You the demons run and flee
At the mention of the name King of Majesty
There is no power in hell
Or any who can stand
Before the power and the presence of the great I AM

The great I AM the great I AM yeah

[Chorus x2]

The great I AM
The great I AM
The great I AM
