Understanding Your Adversary: Remain Focused and Don’t Get Distracted

Hi Everybody,

I spoke on this topic with my church tonight and hope that this message blesses your Spirit. If you want to be successful in life, you have to move by principle, and I mean by Godly principles that can be best understood through the life of Jesus. Jesus shows us so many examples of how we ought to live, so take a look at this on your own and do some soul searching as you pursue greatness in your life. Amen! 😀

Luke 4:1-13 (NKJV) – Satan Tempts Jesus

4 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into[a] the wilderness, 2 being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.

And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”

But Jesus answered him, saying,[b] “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’”[c]

Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him[d] all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.”

And Jesus answered and said to him, Get behind Me, Satan![e] For[f] it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”[g]

temptation-christ.jpgThen he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. 10 For it is written:

‘He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you,’

11 and,

‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’”[h]

12 And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’[i]

13 Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.

John 16:33 NIV

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

When you are pressing through for your blessings in life, when you are in pursuit of elevation or promotion, and going to the next level, you must understand that there is a battle you face against your destiny. This battle is against the adversary (the devil).

You have to understand who your adversary is and how he operates in order to overcome his schemes.

We are praying and fasting not as a religious exercise, but as a spiritual exercise to develop emotional strength, wisdom, discernment in order to grow in Knowledge, Power and Faith to achieve desired results. It takes a lot of work to remain focused, and through prayer and fasting is where your spirit becomes sharpened to deal with things ahead of you that you would not have seen had you not prayed and fasted.

It’s time to understand what it is that you are dealing with when you are in pursuit of elevation in your life.

In Luke 4:2 Jesus was tempted for 40 days and nights by the devil this means that your enemies do not rest until they take you down. Christians are sleeping while their enemies are plotting for their downfall day and night. You cannot afford to take on a passive approach in your daily affairs when the enemies of your destiny do not rest until they have achieved the destruction of your destiny.

Matthew 17:21

However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

My question to you is, are you still sleeping?

1372260154_Temptation_of_ChristIn Luke 4:3 – The devil undermines Jesus by mocking him and attempting to see if Jesus has an area of pride to prove himself and test his loyalties – Do not get suckered into this. You will have people in your life who will mock what you are about and will attempt to get you to prove your self-worth by provoking you to prove who you are in an arrogant way. This provocation is really just a method to get you to act out of pride and arrogance which could turn people off of you, who could have potentially been your destiny helpers. Be still and know that this can cause you to sin and do something outside the will of God if you get suckered into proving your identity and self-worth just because someone mocked you. Try not to be moved by the provocation of your enemies who rile you up to puff yourself up with pride and arrogance to cause you to miss opportunities with people who want to help you move to the next level.

In Luke 4:4 – Jesus didn’t need to prove himself –  He already knew who he was and therefore responded with dignity and grace and told the devil plainly that “listen, you…I know what you’re trying to get me to prove but I’ll tell you something, you need to remember what Your Creator (God) has said and commanded you to do” (this is my paraphrasing what has happened) and therefore, Jesus turned the conversation around to pinpoint the enemy’s lack of obedience to do what the Lord has commanded all creation to do and that is to live by every Word of God. The Devil could not come with a good come back on that point because he knows very well how rebellious he is to God the Father. This is where Christians need to learn to order their conversations right. Just because someone is undermining you, doesn’t mean that it gives you the license to respond with contempt. Learn to wisen up and respond with wisdom and grace. Order your conversations right and act with humility.

Jesus-TemptationIn Luke 4:5-7 – The devil takes Jesus to a high place and claims that he has authority over all the things that any man/woman would desire to have and that if he works and acknowledges the devil by giving him praise, he could have a share of what he has as well as a promise to this allegiance – Listen, do not be fooled by people who try to trick you out of your rightful place of promotion by getting you to side with them and work for them like a gopher to make them look good. I am not talking about rightful submission to authority here. I’m talking about those who scheme to get you to undermine the “right authority” by causing you to take a side that is rebellious in nature in order to achieve gains and/or promotion by dishonest means.

To take this into context, try and imagine this: Have you ever been in a workplace where a supervisor undermines the authority of the manager who you report to and gets co-workers to side with the supervisor in order to gang up together to attempt to overthrow and get the manager fired so that they can take the manager’s place by bribing people into being disobedient through lies and slander (accusations) in order to receive promotion at the promises that the supervisor makes as a form of a pact, or allegiance. “If you do this for me, I’ll help you get the promotion you deserve…”

The devil attempted to do the same thing with Jesus. But how did Jesus respond?

In Luke 4:8 – Jesus told Satan to get behind him – Sometimes you need people to get behind you so that you don’t lose focus on what’s ahead of you. You can shove such people who are there to distract you “one side to the back” (a Nigerian saying) if they are in your face. Jesus refused to entertain the conniving nature of his enemy to be disobedient to the True authority Jesus submits to, which is God the Father. In the same way, you may face people in life who will try to get you to be rebellious and cause you to attack the leadership, to undermine and scheme against the heads of your company or church and overthrow managers to steal their places of authority by dishonest actions and slander. This also is a test of where your loyalties lie.

God does not approve of rebellion in any fashion, so why should you side with the devil and become associated with the oppressor? You will find that those that help such conniving people become a slave to the oppressor who never intended to fulfill their blanket lies and promises. Children of God, it is important to understand the meaning of submission to the right authority. Where do your loyalties lie? Do not entertain people that get you to rebel. You will find a tight noose around your neck if you fall for such schemes in your life. This is a trick the adversary uses every time to get you into bondage. Be wise to rebuke those who attempt to get you to undermine the leadership in your church, your workplace, your family or in any other area of your life. You will preserve your soul if you understand the meaning of submission.

In Luke 4:9-11 – The devil attempts yet again for Jesus to prove himself, but in this time, he wants Jesus to take a huge risk to prove that his identity is indeed the “Son of God” based on his qualifications – Sometimes your enemies will be able to guess and see where you are heading in your destiny, and they will try to trick you into proving yourself quickly by taking a high and unnecessary risk just to prove that you are indeed what they suspect you are in your journey of life. They entice you to seek recognition concerning your identity and abilities by pursuing to get noticed in the wrong way.

Do not be fooled into seeking recognition for the wrong purpose. This will undermine your integrity.

Let us take an example to understand what is going on here:  Say for example, you know that you are good at public speaking and your boss acknowledges it and has given you the responsibility to be his speech writer. You are then invited to listen to your boss speak at a function but a co-worker thinks it is unfair that you aren’t being acknowledged for the numerous speeches that you have written for your boss to speak. This co-worker then tells you, to hijack the function and embarrass your boss by letting everyone know that you wrote that speech for him and that your boss doesn’t know how to do speeches without your help. By doing this, it is assumed that people will give you praise and acknowledge you for your skills and this will draw away the attention from your boss and put you in the spotlight. But the catch is, if you listen to your sly co-worker’s advice, you will find out by the very next day that you are fired and without a job because you undermined your integrity by undermining your boss in your pursuit of recognition for promotion.

Do not be provoked into seeking recognition and acknowledgement the wrong way.

The adversary is always provocative, and malicious in what they try to get you to do in order to miss the mark in your destiny.

How did Jesus respond to that provocation?

In Luke 4:12 – Jesus responded by rebuking the devil and telling him you can’t tempt me to go outside the will of God. In the same way, if anybody attempts to get you to seek recognition in the wrong way, you should tell them where to go and not bother you because you want to hold on to this beautiful thing called INTEGRITY! Do not allow people to cause you to miss opportunities for advancement by making you undermine authority, and doing things dishonestly in order to achieve promotion or elevation. Smarten up and do not give room for nonsense.

In Luke 4:13 – The devil departed from Jesus after tempting him for the last time and will wait for another opportune time to tempt him again to go outside the will of God – Your enemies will try and try again to get you to do something wrong that will make you miss the mark. Sin is defined as “missing the mark”. You don’t want to miss the mark in your destiny, so as we pray and fast, seek God to give you wisdom to know what to do, strength to withstand temptations to do something outside the will of God concerning your life, discernment to identify who your enemies of your destiny are, knowledge to handle every situation with God’s grace, and the will to remain focused on the goal without being distracted.

Stay.Focussed

You need God to help you with every attack that may come from the enemies of your destiny. It is not “if” the enemy comes that you need God’s help, it’s “when”. You will face obstacles; you will face trials but you must determine within yourself to hold onto your integrity. Jesus demonstrates that you can strengthen yourself through prayer and fasting to face such schemes that occur in your life. This battle is won when you operate in the realm of the Spirit of God. Your own might and power is not sufficient to handle each attack that comes your way. Seek God and He will show you the way to gain success the right way. Put your Faith and Trust in God.

Zechariah 4:6

So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.

Don’t make prayer and fasting a religious exercise, it is your spiritual warfare weapon for success.

Philippians 3:12-16 – Pressing Toward the Goal

12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. 16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.

Let God Direct Your Path

Hi Everybody!
I’m back from vacation and I  just wanted to give praise to God for making it the best I’ve ever had in a long while. Three weeks away from the noise and the distractions in my life have led me to feel so rejuvenated that I feel convinced that this year will be an amazing, dynamic, transforming and innovative year.

Everything from this point on is based on perspective. As I was praying to God during my holidays, the Holy Spirit showed me that a lot of things we go through in life are based on one of two perspectives; (1) It’s either we do things or experience things from our own perspective; or (2) we view our circumstances from God’s perspective.

Ask yourself, in light of where you are right now, how are you seeing your world? Is your world view coming from your short-sighted carnal lens? Or are you allowing God to help you see clearly using His set of supernatural lenses?

The way in which you perceive your world today is the way in which you will choose to function in it.

Most of our reactions to situations are based on our perception of a situation. If you have a negative view of things, you will function with that negative under-tone in all that you do. If you have a positive view of the world, then you will function with that positive tone in all that you do. Many a time, we like to take things into our own hands and do things our own way, but lately, God has been showing me that it’s time we give the Holy Spirit some room to function in our lives since it is not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).

Today’s post comes from a contemplation of this scripture from:
Proverbs 3:6 – In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

How many of us take the time to pray before we make a decision about something which even includes even the smallest of things in your tasks (i.e. shopping)? Many people want to hear from the Holy Spirit but they don’t want to include the Holy Spirit in their daily affairs. The Holy Spirit talks to us everyday, but it is up to us to take the time to make room for Him to voice His instructions. If you want to learn to hear from the Holy Spirit, you will have to learn to obey Him when he instructs you to do something. This is how you sharpen your hearing to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to YOU the Church of Jesus Christ. When you give room for the Holy Spirit to speak you will increase in your spiritual discernment and sensitivity towards the things of the spirit.

In this particular year of Divine Grace, you will have to quicken your spirit to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying. Many of your struggles right now are based on acts of disobedience and lack of attention to the Holy Spirit’s voice. It may sound hard to believe, but you sit down and do an inventory of your actions and ask yourself how many times did you consult or take the time to pray before deciding to take a course of action? Be honest with yourself. In fact, I’ll be the first to put my hand up and confess that there were times that I leaped into something head first without consulting the Lord on whether or not my decision was the right course of action to take and only discovered my mistakes after-the-fact. You don’t want to move in that level of mediocrity this year.

Don’t strive to build things with your own hands (Might and Power) without consulting with the Holy Spirit this year. If you do things like that, you will be actually working against yourself and you will indeed labour in vain. The Holy Spirit wants to guide you in the right direction which requires your ability to remain attentive, patient, and obedient. If you cannot master your ability to listen and obey to simple instructions, then you will block yourself from receiving instructions that could lead you to greener pastures.

Our perception of obedience must be changed in order to move away from doing things from our own will and actively pursuing God’s will. God’s will for your life is to prosper as your souls prospers, but if  you aren’t taking the time to pay attention to him, you might just “miss the mark” Also consider that “missing the mark” is also defined as “sin“.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soulprospers.

For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.”’

This should be your goal this year. Make it a point to seek God’s face this year and learn to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will guide you to people that will either show you the answer, be the answer or are a sign that you are heading in the right direction.  Learn to humble yourself and expect that your answers will come from the least likely of sources so do not judge prejudicially a book by its cover.

You want to prosper? Then focus on letting your ego step aside for a moment and give more room for the Holy Spirit to take over in your daily affairs. The more room you give to  allow the Holy Spirit to function in your life, the more you will be able to grow spiritually sensitive to hear God’s voice and incline your ears to instructions. You will avoid so much strife by learning to humble yourself to take heed to the Holy Spirit’s voice.

Some of you maybe asking, how do I hear from Him? You must first immerse yourself in the Word (the Bible) in order to know when the Lord is speaking to you. If you don’t know any of His Word, then how can you expect to learn to hear and recognize His voice in the first place?

A great analogy would be when you listen to a familiar song on the radio and you immediately know who sang the song and what the lyrics are to that song. How were you able to know who was singing if you didn’t read the lyrics, familiarize or meditate on the song? You wouldn’t be able to without doing those things, so in the same way, God instructs us to meditate on the Word of God Day and Night and to not have this Word depart from our mouths so that when we incline our ears to understanding we will be able to recognize the Holy Spirit’s voice. Make this your goal this year and seek God with all your heart, soul, and mind. God Bless your everybody.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

[ A Book of Remembrance ] Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

This song that I’m posting is one that I have posted before from Hillsongs United called Oceans. May this song bless your spirit today. 🙂

Worship Weekend: You Reign!

transitionourgodreigns Hi Everybody!

I was sitting here thinking of what I want to write. Actually, I’ve been wanting to write for quite sometime however, I’m working on a personal project right now hence the lack of blogging. This year has been full of ups and downs for myself and I’m sure for other people. The one thing I believe that needs to be addressed is to never lose hope. Hope is the one thing that keeps you fighting. The question lies in where do you put your hope? where do you put your faith? I put my faith in Jesus, because when I consider, having lost a job right before Easter this year and then gaining a better one after what seemed to be more than 6 months of unemployment, only to lose my grandmother during my second week of starting the new job. I felt like the bad seemed to be outweighing the good. One thing I believed throughout my trials is to keep my hope and faith alive. God comforted me when I lost my job, when I lost my grandma and now I don’t even have a car….in many respects, I could very well have lost my mind…but God kept me. The way I see it, He Reigns in my life as the God who lifts me up when I’m down, He is my provider, my Father and my Friend. I can quote scripture on here until I’m blue, but I feel lead to say that to anybody reading this, no matter what you are going through… Keep your faith alive, keep your hope in the Lord. The trial that you face today may make you see things dimly, but trust God and He will walk you through it. You are not alone. God is with you even if you can’t see Him. You can’t put your trust in people or things, because these things can be taken away and people can fail you, but God says, He will never leave you nor forsake you.

I can testify and say that when I heard that my Grandma had passed away, my heart was completely broken. No one can truly understand what she meant to me. A lot of people can be insensitive and act like “well she’s in heaven now, so isn’t that a good thing?” like as if I should be instantaneously happy and not have room to be sad. It is true that she is there, but for the people left behind, the loss is real. I’m sorry if my grief disturbs their spirit…but I cannot pretend to act like all is well in the world when to me my heart is broken.  That’s when I began to see people in a different light…it’s amazing what you can learn when you experience grief. It seems that in such moments you see people for who they truly are like as if a veil has been lifted from your eyes. Compassion was absent for many that heard the news and for those that did care, I acknowledge with gratitude and a new found appreciation for the Lord opening up my eyes to see the true hearts of people.

I read somewhere recently that when a person experiences a death, you will see people for who they truly are for one, and that many of God’s generals are propelled into their destiny after such an event occurs. I pray that I am being propelled into destiny. The way I see it now…you will see things more clearly in and through tragedy. I appreciate things in life that I once took for granted. I have also noticed that my discernment has sharpened extremely that I am amazed of what I’m seeing now that I didn’t really understand before.

Time is a transient thing, but when you understand that the time you have right now is really in God’s hands, you can be assured that when you trust Him and His ways of doing things, God will help you accomplish what you were called to do. I’ve come to a place where you have to consider that at this moment, your life affects the destinies of others. You are not here just to occupy space, God has a plan for your life and it is time to step into where God calls you to be. You have no time to make sense of the journey, neither do you have the time to make people understand the things that God wants you to do, but all you have to do is listen to Him just like Moses did, and say “HERE I AM LORD”.

Are you listening?

You are a deliverer in your generation.

I love being a worshiper and I love worshiping God. I remember coming for a praise team practice and tried to sing in my grief over losing my Grandma. I cried during that practice….but a sound came out of my mouth I had never heard before. It was the sound of true worship. Worshiping from the deep calling unto the deep. I know that it’s easy to sing when we are happy, but what about the times when grief has its grip on you. That same week I came to worship and praised God on a Sunday service as I ministered with the praise team and choir behind us. I worshiped knowing that the people in the pew don’t know what my struggle with grief was, because they all have their own problems that their dealing with. What they need is a sound that gives them hope. I began to praise God in my grief, and I knew from that point on…that worship for me had changed in that I had a deeper understanding and revelation of it. I worship God because He is God. He deserves our praise, He deserves everything because He has given me life with a new meaning. He that gives life is able to take it away…but for us, He came to resurrect our dead selves so that we could Live with Him again.

I had a dream, that my Grandma was in Heaven shortly after her passing. It gave me Hope, but I knew that I had to shape up. I had to move on, and take on the baton and start to re-prioritize my life and make God really important to me. I know what my spiritual giftings are and God will make room for me to flow freely with them, but the one thing that the Lord has been telling me as of late is that He seeks OBEDIENCE. And when I say obedience…I mean not just for me but from all His people that are called by His name.rain_and_tears_by_voltuzaidi-d5j2yl3

How many of you want to obey God when He calls out your name?

Many of us profess to love Him, but do not do as He says. As a Watchwoman, I have sounded many alarms, but not many want to listen. Those that do are running in the right direction and are prospering. What I find really intriguing is that as a Watchwoman, I have found that those that believe in what I hear in terms of guidance or warnings are not even Christian and yet they run with it and prosper. Then there are Christians I have spoken to who lack ears to hear and continue to do their own thing. From what I’ve seen from these individuals, they are facing unnecessary problems that could have been avoided had they chosen to listen attentively rather than with skepticism and unbelief.

God has shown me that obedience is better than sacrifice. People labor, but labor in vain because listening to what God has to say is just too trivial for them.

If faith comes by hearing….then why are many people ignoring????

At the present time, I feel that those that listen will prosper and God will be faithful to those that are faithful towards Him. Many Christians at this time, need to go back to the basics and understand that Jesus is the Chief Cornerstone. Do not be like the builders that rejected Him. The foundations of this world are literally held in His hands. God is seeking a church that will learn to make it a priority to build a House of PRAYER, a house that understands the meaning of consecration, a house that does not make men or women or things as idols that steal your attention from hearing from God. Those that mock these basic fundamentals are those that have put objects before them as their God and will make fun of Prayer.

The power of the praying Church can take down storms that ravage a country if only the church believed.

I feel like I’ve rambled, but what I will say is that if God is not a priority in your life right now, you are traveling on a perilous journey right now. You won’t know how to distinguish what is right and wrong and will stumble into things that will make you waver between various opinions (mans opinion). God wants you to listen to Him, but it’s up to us to decide that we want to Listen to Him in our personal lives.

Also, one more thing I want to say to close off in my ramblings for tonight is that, You have to learn to be happy for others when something good is happening in their lives. You have to learn to comfort others when something bad is going on in their lives. The Christ in us which is the HOPE of Glory seeks to be the answer for other peoples need. You see, the thing is we ask too many questions that we want God to answer for us that we don’t take the time to be the answer that God created us to be for someone else. You are the answer to another persons question. When a person is in pain, you are their comfort, when someone is feeling low, you are their encouragement… when a person is hungry, feed them, when a person is naked, clothe them, when someone is happy you  are their rejoicing buddy…when someone is grieving you are their shoulder to cry on… May we never be too self-centered to see how we are the solution to another persons need. You are important and your destiny is connected to another person and other people. Pray to God to help you fulfill your destiny and learn to bend towards God’s will and move when God tells you to Move. Other peoples lives are depending on your level of Obedience to God. Never forget that.

Today, I’m posting a song from the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International called You Reign! May this song Bless Your Spirit today everybody!

The Will of God for the Sons of God

Hi Everybody!

Today’s Devotional comes from the book  ofMatthew 21: 28-30

The Parable of the Two Sons

28 “But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’ 29 He answered and said, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he regretted it and went. 30 Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go, sir,’ but he did not go. 31 Which of the two did the will of his father?”

They said to Him, “The first.”

Jesus said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you. 32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; and when you saw it, you did not afterward relent and believe him.

It’s interesting to note the two distinctions between the two sons. The First son was not really wanting to do what His Father asked of him, but after careful consideration of his arrogance and obstinate behavior towards his father, he felt guilt and decided to act in obedience to his Father’s request in order to reconcile back into his father’s good graces. The Second son claimed he would fulfill his Father’s request but ended up being all Lip service and no action.

These two sons are Characteristic of two types of Christians.

The Character of the First Son:  There will be times when we are asked to do something that we don’t want to do by our Father in Heaven because of fear and also the weight of the task may seem overwhelming or just tedious; however, despite this, we ought to act in obedience nevertheless. When I think about this, I think of Moses and Gideon who were called out by God Himself to become the chosen deliverers for the Children of Israel out of the hand of their oppressors. However, they too had excuses to disqualify themselves from becoming God’s “Called Out Ones” (the Ekklesia; greek), nevertheless, they still satisfied and answered to the call on their lives despite their reluctance. They are great examples of the First Son’s character to the Father’s will.

The Character of the Second Son: Those that claim they will do something for God and don’t are hypocritical, unreliable, untrustworthy, double-minded and disobedient. The nature of the Second Son is Characteristic of a Son of Disobedience (Ephesians 2:2; Colossians 3:6).

Ephesians 5:6
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Disobedience to the Fathers will is the fruit of the Second Son. The Second son was all Lip-service with no action. As it says in the Word (the Bible), Faith without works is dead (James 2:20) and this son compromises his faith in his father by this willful act of disobedience. It is clear that the second son simply desired to satisfy his Fathers ears  by acting compliant to his request in order to get him to leave him alone to his other devices, when clearly he had no intention of satisfying his father’s request. He operated in disobedience of the Father’s will by feigning obedience to his father. Such a character is self-seeking and pretentious in its actions that it is also considered to be a form of false humility.

For those that have followed my blog for a while you will already know that I have spoken about false humility and the importance of detecting it several times with great emphasis because it is something I see in operation to this day. I can tell you by just looking at these two sons, that the first son chose the path of Humility to do the Father’s will even though his initial reaction to his Father’s request was one of arrogance and reluctance. The other Son who acted compliant and yielding to his father’s will initially is one who prides himself on looking the part of a ‘good and faithful son’ while really taking on a mask of pretension while operating in pride against the Father’s will by choosing the path of dishonesty and willful disobedience. This Second son’s pretentiousness is a fruit of disobedience to his Father. There is evidence of self-righteousness in his actions in that he’d rather appear legalistically legitimate before his father rather than actually operate with integrity to perform his Father’s request. The Second son epitomizes one appearing to have the form of godliness but denying it’s power (2 Timothy 3:5) by acting in willful disobedience. Such a son is evil and that is why I refer to him as a Son of Disobedience.

We should never be like the second son because we are heirs of the righteousness  according to our faith (Hebrews 11:7). So Today, think about becoming more like the First Son rather than the Second Son. It’s is better to be obedient to the Father’s will in your life rather than pretending to walk in obedience. Such pretension is ungodly in character and hypocritical. A person thinks that they are fooling people by operating in this fashion, but what they are really doing is fooling themselves and the Devil is laughing at them. The First son had a contrite heart towards his obstinate behavior and with such a heart the Lord our God does not despise because the First Son purposed to fulfill his Father’s will in the end (Psalm 51:17). This is how we should be when we are called by God to do something that is outside our comfort zone. It’s not always easy to obey a parents direction, but our Father God wants what is best for us. In humility we must learn what it means to submit and yield to God’s will and purpose in our lives.

Willful disobedience draws us away and far from God, Obedience brings us closer to Him. Purpose Obedience and walk in humility, Amen!

Your Enemies will Dream Dreams of Defeat

Hi Everybody!

Todays message is about your enemies dreams. You may have people that come against you in your life that maybe from your family, workplace, in your city in your churches etc, and especially when God has put a dream in front of you to fulfill, it can be discouraging when all you see are hindrances towards your advancements and progress in your life. Today I have a meditation that encouraged me and didn’t realize was in the Bible before. Sometimes God will give  prophetic dreams to those that oppress and frustrate your progress and show them how they will be defeated. In this case it happened to little Gideon. A young fella who was in the midst of a situation where the Jews had sinned against God and were now being oppressed by the Midianites who had taken over the land and taken the best places that had crops and food leaving the Children of Israel to be impoverished in Judges 6:1-6. Everything was under their jurisdiction because the Children of Israel had sinned against God and had forgotten God for all that He had done to take them out of captivity from Egypt by worshipping other idols. Gideon found favor with the Lord and an Angel visited him in Chapter 6 in the book of Judges to tell him that the Lord had found favor with Gideon and was going to use him to overthrow the Midianites. Gideon was overwhelmed with the task and the proposal and found many excuses to disqualify himself from the call but the Lord saw Him as a “Mighty man of Valor” in Judges 6:12.

Judges 6:12:

12 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!”

It is important to note how God sees us when He calls us to do something. It doesn’t matter how weak we appear or how unlikely we are to be used for His Glory, God deliberately chooses to use the weak things of this world to confound the mighty and the foolish things of this world to confound the wise to make it a point that God should be given all the Glory for His Will will stand with those that walk uprightly.

1 Corinthians 1:27
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

He will give the desires of our hearts when we walk in righteousness. For Gideon, he wanted the Children of Israel to be delivered from the oppression of the Midianites and God came to fulfill his desire by using Gideon as the answer to his own prayer.

It is important to bear in mind that when God fulfills the petition and the desires of your heart, be prepared to be the answer to your own prayer.  <— didn’t see that one coming now did ya 😉

In this situation, God intervened and the Enemies of the Children of Israel (the Midianites), received prophetic dreams of their own downfall. Let’s read:

Judges 7:9-18

It happened on the same night that the Lord said to him, “Arise, go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand. 10 But if you are afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant, 11 and you shall hear what they say; and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp.” Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outpost of the armed men who were in the camp. 12 Now the Midianites and Amalekites, all the people of the East, were lying in the valley as numerous as locusts; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the seashore in multitude.

13 And when Gideon had come, there was a man telling a dream to his companion. He said, “I have had a dream: To my surprise, a loaf of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian; it came to a tent and struck it so that it fell and overturned, and the tent collapsed.”

14 Then his companion answered and said, “This is nothing else but the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel! Into his hand God has delivered Midian and the whole camp.”

15 And so it was, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, that he worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel, and said, “Arise, for the Lord has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand.”16 Then he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet into every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers. 17 And he said to them, “Look at me and do likewise; watch, and when I come to the edge of the camp you shall do as I do: 18 When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then you also blow the trumpets on every side of the whole camp, and say,The sword of the Lord and of Gideon!’”

I don’t know about you but that’s worth a praise in my mouth! Woooohooo!!!!! GLORY! Ain’t it awesome that the your adversaries can have dreams of their own demise? One Midianite had the dream and the other man who was his companion, was able to prophetically interpret the dream even though they weren’t Jews and were ones that didn’t worship the same God Jehovah. Unbelievers can dream dreams too it seems and that just goes to show you that with God all things are possible for those that love the LORD (Matthew 19:26). You must always give the Lord praise when He promises you Victory. Gideon was so encouraged that he went into battle with style, with trumpets giving the Lord Praise. We should learn to blow our trumpets of praise for praise is our weapon of warfare!

As intercessors, you can declare and decree that your adversaries will dream prophetic dreams of defeat and that your God is more than able to overthrow their schemes against you in the Mighty name of Jesus! Rejoice! For if God can encourage Gideon in this manner, what more say you? I used to assume that I needed to see a dream or vision of my adversaries downfall to feel encouraged that I can progress in this life, but after reading this passage, I know that God can prophetically intervene and cause them to dream up their own defeat for those that come against God’s plan in your life. I don’t have to dream about it anymore when my enemies can dream about it themselves, and likewise, for those that do evil against you, God can intervene in that situation when you seek His face above all else with a purity of heart and in humility.

Never take anything into your own hands because vengeance is the Lords <— I want to be clear on that.

Romans 12:19
Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

When people come against your calling in your life or the progress in your life, understand that they aren’t up against you the person, they are up against the God you serve. So the first thing you must question is, What God are you serving? This is the first and most important question you have to ask yourself because this will determine whether you remain subdued by people who plot to oppress you, frustrate your efforts, scheme and abuse you or not. If God is not who you are serving, then I suggest that you repent right now and give your life back to God and then seek the Lord’s face to set you free from whatever is holding you back from fulfilling your dreams and purpose in this life. You must always move according to God’s will in order for Him to see you as a “mighty man or woman of valor”. This is how you gain the favor of the Lord to move His hand against the enemies of your soul. However, you must live a life daily in humility, honor, integrity and obedience for that favor to rest upon all that you do.

The Favor of God is predicated on you living a life of obedience to him. So be encouraged today and know that God can cause the enemies of your soul to dream dreams of their defeat in their plans to prevent you from reaching your full potential. God is an Awesome God and He is well able to do what He promises. He did it for Gideon and He can do it for you too. God Bless you everybody!

“It Doesn’t Make Sense!”

Hello Everybody!

When you look through the Bible we see that there were many miracles that were performed and many were initiated after ACTS of obedience. It is important to note how acts of obedience are tied to miracles and supernatural moves of God. I believe that miracles are always happening everyday but we just have to learn to be obedient in order to see how they are happening everyday. Sometimes, God asks us to do something out of the ordinary and when you try to rationalize what God is thinking it may seem like you heard incorrectly because sometimes He requests us to do things that don’t make any sense.

1 Corinthians 2:16
For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Have you ever been in a situation where you heard in your spirit that you must do something but you tried to rationalize it away thinking that you weren’t hearing properly and probably rebuked the suggestion thinking it’s not of God when really it’s the Holy Spirit telling you to do something? I have been there many times and when you think about it, a lot of things God asks of us to do don’t always make sense, but when we learn to obey Him in the thing that sounds ridiculous, we see amazing things happen.

Think about it, if Moses didn’t stretch out his rod over the Red Sea as God had commanded him to, the Bible would have ended at Exodus  with Pharoah probably killing off the Jews and taking many of them back into captivity had Moses decided to ignore the voice of God to do something that didn’t make sense. The future of Israel was on the other side of the Red Sea and that future could have been extinguished at the shoreline had Moses said “But God this doesn’t make any sense!”.

What we hope to achieve in this life is tied to how much we move and do things that don’t make any sense to anyone.

The greatest inventions such as the Thomas Edison’s light bulb and the airplane that could fly by the Wright brothers were all invented at a time where people thought such things cannot be because they have never seen such things before and they didn’t make any sense. Just because you haven’t seen a miracle happen doesn’t mean miracles don’t or won’t happen. I think that if we keep trying to do things in our own might and power, we leave no room for the unexpected. The unexpected is cultivated by acts of obedience. When you decide to just do something different even when faced with the threat of ridicule and unbelief, you step into the Faith Zone that carries you towards the Miracle Zone and God always brings PROVISION for the VISION when you decide to walk in His Will.

It is possible to walk everyday in the Miracle zone if you allow yourself to walk in God’s Will Also consider that people are stimulated by shock value and most of the time it’s negative. Miracles should be our shock value daily because when they are from God they are always positive. We no longer pursue miracles because we live in a state of mind that thinks everything that has been done has already been done before. I’m here to tell you…there are greater things yet to come if you believe for it. I personally want to see things I’ve never seen before, don’t you? Like Moses, stretch out your faith and focus on seeing greater miracles than these and remember that you can only see a miracle when you ACT in Obedience. Stop ignoring the ridiculous and go for it. You have to do your part by acting on your faith rather than sitting there waiting for it to happen. Miracles are activated by ACTION. Whose action you ask? Yours! so MOVE! Moses performed an action by stretching out his rod and the Red Sea Divided, so you have to do the same and act by faith to see things happen. This message isn’t just for you only, because I feel that it is also for me as well. So I’ll step out and do different things in pursuit of my miracles in my life. Each person has a portion of miracles that are specifically assigned and designed by God for their destiny and are only activated by the power of your faith in action, so think about what you have to do in order to see your portion manifest itself today, Amen!

I have a song from the Prince of Egypt Cartoon that came to mind when I wrote this up called When You Believe performed by Mariah Carey and the late Whitney Houston. May this song minister to you today. God bless you everybody!

Scriptures to Meditate

Isaiah 55:8
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.

Exodus 7:9
“When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, ‘Show a miracle for yourselves,’ then you shall say to Aaron, ‘Take your rod and cast it before Pharaoh, and let it become a serpent.’”

Galatians 3:4- (NKJV)

Have you suffered so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?

Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?— just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

Isaiah 64:4
For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.

1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Fan or Follower? – Can You Hear God’s Voice?

Hi Everybody!

So today I have another video today to get us thinking about our walk in the Lord. Being Christian doesn’t win us any medals, popularity contests or any brownie points, but it does gain us an eternal life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ when we seriously consider what it means to be a Follower. There are times when people look at me wierdly when I say I heard this and that from the Lord as if to say I’m some kind of liar…my question to them would be… Do you hear from the Lord? and if so, What have you heard from the Lord???? If not…why not?

John 10:27
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

I know when God is talking to me if He’s convicting me of a bad habit that I need to curb, or if He points out areas of Sin that I need to confess and repent about. I also Hear from Him when He gives me warnings about certain situations or about people, and I also Hear from the Lord when He tells me that He loves me. I believe in His voice through the workings of the Helper who is the Holy Spirit. I admit that there are times I ignore Him obviously because of stubborness and pride, but I know His voice because He is the Counselor of my soul. I’m not going to act like I’m a saint all the time becuase I have my own struggles to deal with and I’m not going to remain in denial of that just so I can sleep well at night. Sometimes the Lord tells me things I don’t want to hear but He loves me enough to tell me the TRUTH. The Truth isn’t always easy to swallow, but I’d rather be told the truth than swim in a pool of lies. Such a pool leads to drowning, but God always throws us the Life Jacket to pull us out of that pool of regrets with His TRUTH.

Jesus is our Saviour in every sense of the Word and that is why when we Follow Him, we must purpose to Hear Him when He talks to us through the Holy Spirit. This is how we come to reverentially Fear the name of the Lord. Sin separates us and deafens our ears but REPENTANCE sharpens our hearing and discernment as it also reconciles us to Hear attentively to what the Lord is saying to us through the Holy Spirit.

Ask yourself…Can you Hear the Lord speak to You when He tells you something through people, signs, wonders, confirmations and various other ways and methods? If God can use a Donkey to get Balaams attention (Numbers 22), God will and can use anything to get our attention, but it’s up to us to purpose to recognize when the Lord is in fact talking to us through His methods to convict our Spirit to yield to the Truth of His Word.

Everybodies relationship is different  in their walk with the Lord since some people are at different stages, but I am convinced that as we continously learn to Follow the Lord whole-heartedly, we must be able to hear His voice. If we cannot hear Him, then certain things are happening in our lives to prevent us from following our Lord Jesus Christ whole heartedly. We must really search deep and ask ourselves…why do we find it hard to follow God fully?

Check this video out and think about what it means to Follow Christ rather than being a mere Fan of Christ. Those who follow will learn to hear the Lord’s Voice and will answer to His call.  Stay Blessed Everybody!

Obedience Leads to Promise and fulfillment of DESTINY

Hello Everybody!

So today I was just doing a meditation in the book of Hebrews and read something that jumped at me.

It’s in Hebrews 3: 16-19

Failure of the Wilderness Wanderers

16 For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? 17 Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Have you ever questioned why some people haven’t been receiving the full promises of God in their lives? Sometimes as we wait we can do one of two things during the waiting period for our promises.

1.) We can wait in Faith.  Believing is Seeing.

or

2.) We can wait in Unbelief. Seeing is not Believing.

In the passage above God tells us why the majority of the Children of Israel were unable to enter into the Promised Land.  The promised land is a place of destiny. If you are wondering why some people cannot reach their full potential, it’s because they have certain *character traits* that hinder them from reaching their places of DESTINY. In the passage above we discover that there were particular traits that prohibited the Children of Israel from entering their promised land.

1. They were rebellious (v. 16);

2. They had sinned (v. 17);

3. They were disobedient (v. 18); and

4. They were unbelievers of GOD’s WORD. (v. 19)

The Character traits listed above are what will prevent us from reaching our places of destiny if we choose to be Rebellious, Sinful, disobedient and unbelieving in the Word of God.

Folks, we cannot afford to be like that with the things that God wants to give us in our lifetime. We must seriously learn to walk by Faith and NOT by Sight because Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen (Hebrews 11:1).  So today I challenge you, analyze yourself and REPENT of any areas that exhibit the four traits listed here that are hindering you from receiving the promises of God in your life. Prosperity is your portion, but if you don’t even believe that…then you have to repent for Trait number 4 (UNBELIEF).

How you reach your destiny is determined by how you exercise your FAITH.

Destiny is always tied to FAITH.

The only thing that aborts Destiny is UNBELIEF.

This is just a short meditation today so I hope this blesses you. God bless you everybody and keep believing until you see God in your situations. God has your Jeremiah 29:11 promises for you so hold on to that truth and remain steadfast and Believe in that TRUTH.

So now that we know the Truth lets us rejoice in it. I have a song by Hezekiah Walker and LFC called Let’s Dance. Be Blessed EVERYBODY!

I Will be Your God and You will be My People

via triune-echo.com

This Post is still in reference to practicing the Fear of the Lord in our Lives. I feel as if God is pressing me to talk about this subject multiple times since the Last post in regards to Tapping into Divine Wisdom: The Reverential Fear of God .

My Meditation today comes from the Book of 2 Timothy 3

Now, from what I’ve read, there are two clear distinctions in this chapter. There are characteristics that describe the traits of Children of Disobedience and then there are Characteristic traits of those who are the Sons of God.  We cannot afford to be like the Children of disobedience because there is indeed a heavy price to pay by choosing to be rebellious in nature. However, having said that we must also understand what it means to be Children of God. From what I have read, we must clearly assess what type of Children we resemble in our current life right now. If you want to grow from strength to strength, from faith to faith, from glory to glory in your walk, there are certain features that you cannot afford to be ignorant of concerning your conduct, concerning your behaviour, concerning your belief system that determines your FAITH level and the level of your intimacy that you have in your relationship with GOD, Jesus Christ, Son of the Father. Purposing to walk in Holiness is a serious commitment that takes so much dedication and resolve that it can only be cultivated by discipline and confidence in your Faith towards Jesus Christ.  You can only come to the Father through the Son, so accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord who is the One that paves the way for you to commune with the Divine Father God in your life. Let me make it clear that it is YOUR CHOICE the path that you choose to walk on. You are accountable for your own decisions that you make in your Life, so remember that as you read on.

2 Timothy 3 New King James Version (NKJV)

Perilous Times and Perilous Men

3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith;but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.

The Man of God and the Word of God

10 But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, 11 persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The Man/Woman of God that is described here is one that:

1.)  Follows God’s Word and BELIEVES in it (2 Tim 3: 10)

2.) Endures the troubles they experience through and for their faith in Christ (2 Tim 3:10-11)

3.) Has a Spirit of Love indwelling in them which is one of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit (2 Tim 3:10)

4.) Understands that they will be persecuted for what they believe (2 Tim 3:12)

5.) Walks in the divine wisdom of the Lord that comes from Discernment and meditation of Gods Word through the workings of the Holy Spirit (2 Tim 3:14)

6.) Meditates on Gods Word as a lifestyle and practices it on a daily basis (2 Tim 3:15)

7.) Takes Heed to the Prophetic Word of God and believes in that Prophetic Word (2 Tim 3:26). The Bible is often described as the book of Prophecy (ref. Revelation 22:10 so hence I am calling it the “Prophetic Word of God” since God’s Word will not return Void, it shall complete that which it was sent it to do and it will accomplish much! (Isaiah 55:11)

8.) The Man/Woman of God is equipped through the Word and lives by the Word that provides Divine Wisdom and Understanding to walk with God in all their ways (2 Tim 3:16-17).

The Man/Woman contrary to the Word of God is one that:

1.) Acts like they “believe” in the Word but denies the power of the prophetic Word which is from God (2 Tim 3: 5). <– this is also characteristic of False Humility which is a post I wrote a while back that I truly recommend for people to read if you want to increase discernment about such people operating in this fashion.

2.)  They are Narcissistic (Lovers of themselves), Greedy (Lovers of Money), Braggers (Boasters), they act aloof/conceited/ haughty (Proud), they talk against God and His word and try to cause others to lose faith in GOD (Blasphemers),  are disobedient to instruction/ guidance/ rebuke/ correction from their parents (or guardians), they lack a heart of gratitude (are unthankful),  they don’t believe in the holiness of God and are perverted in all their ways (unholy) (2 Tim 3: 2).

3.) They are unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good (2 Tim 3: 3)

4.) They are people who don’t think twice about selling you out (traitors), Stubborn in their thinking and all their ways (headstrong), arrogant and snobby (haughty), they prefer to walk in the flesh to satisfy their carnal desires rather than walk in the Spirit to operate in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit (lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God),(2 Tim 3: 4)

5.) They can appear to look and act “Christian” on the surface but they do not actually believe in the power of the Name and the Blood of Jesus Christ our Savior, our Redeemer, our Lord. This is how some will have the form of Godliness but deny its Power (wolves in sheeps clothing) (2 Tim 3: 5)

6. ) They love to deceive people and they have corrupt minds that are self-seeking to satisfy their carnal desire (2 Tim 3: 6 & 8)

7.)  They can learn about the Word just like everybody else but not fully embrace the truth of it. They are Skeptics, Doubters, they tend to be argumentative about the Word, are Unbelieving in nature and are not doers of the Word but are still able to preach about it when practicing false humility (2 Tim 3:7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth).

8.) They will NOT prosper in their wickedness even when they think that they are getting away with it, God will make them a spectacle and deal with them accordingly (2 Tim 3: 9; Nahum 3:6; Colossians 2:15).

What does God say about such people… He says to TURN AWAY. (2 Tim 3:6). Turning away from them is the only way one can keep from being influenced by their perverted way of life. Turning away means DO NOT follow their path, DO NOT walk in their ways, you may not be able to ignore such people in your life completely, but that doesn’t mean you should do what they do when you know to do better, always do better. Don’t be led astray and purpose to walk with wise counsel rather than evil and corrupt ones because there is safety in wise counsel (Proverbs 24:6).

Corrupt people corrupt others and in the same way that God-fearing people edify and strengthen others.

You’ve got to ask yourself, who are you hanging out with? Are you hangin’ with the God-fearing Crowd or the Crowd that entices you to do things that go against what you believe in?

I believe in my spirit that at this present time, God is making a clear distinction between His People and those that Deny His Power.   I know this sounds bold for me to say, but this has been in my spirit for a while and I can’t keep silent about it. God is separating the wolves from the Sheep and that is what it means to be Set Apart in the first place. This Separation is going to cause a lot of repositioning and dethroning liken to what happened between Saul and David. He is making a clear distinction between the Saul’s in this world with the David’s of this world. The question is, who are we before God?  Are we seeking to walk in the Spirit with God and be like David, or are we going to choose to walk in the Flesh like Saul?

People, all I can say is that we need to start being serious in our walk. This Word is not just for you but for me as well. God is setting the record straight in this Year of Divine Government.

When God Says: “I will be your God and YOU will be my People”, it means that He sincerely wants to be God to His People, but do we want to be His People? We can only be His people if we are GOD-FEARING. So ask yourself, Who do you Fear? Is it Man or God? Your answer will determine where you stand and who you place as “God” in your life.

This is a humbling word to me and I would like to encourage others that God makes a distinction so that we can increase in our discernment of the types of people we have in our lives as well. Can you distinguish the Sauls in your life from the Davids?

David was used to help build the temple of God and made worshiping God His lifestyle. As imperfect as he was as a man, God chose Him over Saul who was rebellious, arrogant and Jealous of David’s true love for the Lord. Saul didn’t love God that way at all but still wanted what God gave to David, and that was Sonship through KINGSHIP. This is a kingdom thing.

God is King of KINGs  and LORD of LORDS. Saul was bankrupt in His spirit for the Love of God and became one that hated anything to do with Him and that is why He sought to kill David, because He despised what is Good and acceptable of the LORD. Saul epitomizes the one with a contrary spirit to God. David is a God-fearing man loved by God.

Today, Meditate on what it means to be God-fearing. Seek to walk in the Spirit, Seek Sonship because you sincerely LOVE God, and Seek to do what is Good and acceptable before the Lord.

Stay blessed in your walk everybody!

Tapping into Divine Wisdom: The Reverential Fear of God

For the past few days I’ve been feeling the need to speak on the reverential fear of the the Lord. We must understand that God is a Holy God. We are all unworthy to come before His presence because of how Holy He Truly is, but through Jesus we are able to commune with the Almighty one. No one can come to the Father except through the Son. This is how HOLY God is but I don’t believe that people have fully grasped what it means to go before a Holy God. Ask yourself what does it mean to be in the Presence of a HOLY God?

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

The Holiness of God is such that it is sooo powerful that our human container (our physical bodies) can’t handle the Holiness of God. It is so powerful that it can crush us and that is why when we speak of “Seeking His Face” we have to go from strength to strength to handle The Holiness of God as we learn to increase from Faith to Faith to see God working in our lives. It takes a measure of Faith for us to see what I would term “glimpses of God” because we cannot handle the fullness of God’s Glory.

So how do we learn to Revere a God that is so Holy?

Let me just say that the fear of God that I speak of isn’t some unhealthy fear that causes us to be bound up and paralyzed from doing or acting on something. By all means learn to take initiatives to step out and do things that you’ve never done before. That is what Faith is about! The fear of God that I speak of is in respect to the relationship between having UNDERSTANDING with WISDOM to do the RIGHT THING and LIVE the RIGHT WAY.

It says in the Word that:

Psalm 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

The Fear of God provides us with the Benefits of Wisdom and Understanding to do His Will in our lives, but how many of us Fear God enough to obey Him when He tells us to do something? We have the free will factor to choose between doing things GOD’s way or doing things OUR way which is foolishness to God.

Isaiah 55:8
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.

Our levels of wisdom are limited and that is why we must learn to Fear GOD because HE is our PROVIDER of Wisdom that leads us to do things with purpose, direction, and with a promise that assures that our obedience in Him will lead to prosperity according to the Jeremiah 29:11 promise. However, we as people can be hard headed and become ignorant and arrogant and do things that may seem right to us at the time, but later reap the repercussions of our disobedience.

There are benefits to reverencing our Lord as there are repercussions to the lack of Fear in God which I will outline here:

THE BENEFITS OF FEARING GOD:

1.) Those who Fear God will cause others to believe in God.

1 Samuel 12:14
If you fear the LORD and serve Him and obey His voice, and do not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then both you and the king who reigns over you will continue following the LORD your God.

2.) Those who Fear God will be rescued from their enemies schemes.

2 Kings 17:39
But the LORD your God you shall fear; and He will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies.”

3.) Those who Fear God will be safe and remain safe.

Proverbs 29:25
The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.

4.) The Fear of God keeps people from continuing to SIN.

Job 28:27- 28

27 Then He saw wisdom[a] and declared it;He prepared it, indeed, He searched it out.
28 And to man He said,‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom,
And to depart from evil is understanding.

5.) The Fear of God is Pure and is filled with Truth.

Psalm 19:9
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

6.) Those who Fear God will be revealed prophetic revelations and will be revealed of His promises in their lives.

Psalm 25:14
The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant.

7.) Those who Fear God are blessed when they follow by Faith and walk in His Word in OBEDIENCE.

Psalm 128:1
[ Blessings of Those Who Fear the LORD ] A Song of Ascents. Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways.

8.) Those who Fear God receive divine wisdom and knowledge when they take heed to God’s instructions by following His Word and Trusting in Him.

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

9.) The Fear of God prolongs a persons Life.

Proverbs 10:27
The fear of the LORD prolongs days, But the years of the wicked will be shortened.

Proverbs 14:27
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death.

10.) Those that Fear God walk Humbly and are Honored in their Humility and Wisdom.

Proverbs 15:33
The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility.

11.) The Fear of God provides safety and confidence because you know in whom you Believe.

Proverbs 14:26
In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge.

12.) Those that Fear God Obey His Voice and His Word.

Haggai 1:12
[ The People’s Obedience ] Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him; and the people feared the presence of the LORD.

13.) A Church that Fears God PROSPERS!

Acts 9:31
[ The Church Prospers ] Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.

When you read these benefits, it makes you wonder why the current state of the world is in chaos and confusion. It is because people have not learned to FEAR GOD and follow HIS WORD. When a nation Fears God, the people of that Nation are blessed and this goes vice versa, when a Nation does NOT Fear GOD, the People suffer.

The consequences of not Fearing God is like asking for a removal of His Jeremiah 29:11 promise of Blessing on your life. This is quite serious folks. If people don’t learn to Fear God in the sense of seriously BELIEVING HIS WORD, we liken ourselves to SAUL’s attitude which was one of REBELLION (the same level of sin as witchcraft). We all know what happened to Saul right? The Spirit of GOD LEFT SAUL and entered into DAVID who was a man of God who reverenced the LORD enough to take out a GOLIATH when no one else would.

1 Samuel 18:12
Now Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, but had departed from Saul.

Saul ended up demonized and was going insane. This is what happens when the presence of God leaves our lives. We are left vulnerable when we continue to remain in disobedience, faithless, and rebellious to God’s Word in our Lives. Therefore, Fearing God, the Giver of all blessings, all wisdom, all knowledge and power is the only way we are assured of Divine preservation and prosperity.

We must understand that those that DO NOT FEAR GOD are:

1.) Rebellious.

1 Samuel 15: 23-25

23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,
He also has rejected you from being king.

24 Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. 25 Now therefore, please pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the Lord.”

2.) Cursed.

1 Samuel 16:14
[ A Distressing Spirit Troubles Saul ] But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the LORD troubled him.

Deuteronomy 28:15 -19

15 “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

16 “Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.

17 “Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.

18 “Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.

19 “Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.

[Please read the rest of the curses in this chapter of Deuteronomy 28:20-68 for there is a huge list, but I’m sure you get the point]

3.) Faithless, Sinful and always troubled.

Proverbs 15:16
Better is a little with the fear of the LORD, Than great treasure with trouble.

4.) They that lack the Fear of God Call forth Judgment in their Lives.

Malachi 3:5
And I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness Against sorcerers, Against adulterers, Against perjurers, Against those who exploit wage earners and widows and orphans, And against those who turn away an alien— Because they do not fear Me,” Says the LORD of hosts.

5.)  They are full of PRIDE, they are Liars and are children of DISOBEDIENCE.

1 John 2:4
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Colossians 3:6
Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience

Ephesians 5:6
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

I know that this post is very different from many of my earlier posts because I feel so strongly on this subject at this time that I feel led to touch on this touchy subject. It may not be something someone wants to read, but it has to be said. Folks, many of the curses I read in Deuteronomy 28 are actually going on right now in certain countries right now if you analyze them. What’s also interesting about this chapter is that it first lists the blessings, but the curses took a whole chunk of that chapter because let me tell you that there is a heavy price to pay in the lack of Fearing God. I’m not trying to be scary here but I feel that this needs to be addressed. For each time we try to take God out of our lives, curses keep entering our lives…we open the doors for such things to happen. God doesn’t want to see people suffer, that’s why His will is for all to Have LIFE and have it more ABUNDANTLY!

John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

We can only have abundant life when we Fear the ONE who GIVES LIFE!

Today reflect on where you are in your relationship with God. Ask yourself, do  you sincerely FEAR GOD? Are there areas where your conscience is cold to the truth of what you ought to be doing? Do you value the Holiness of God? IF so, how? If Not, why?

Ask yourselves these questions and understand that the Fear of the LORD is the beginning of ALL wisdom so if people are praying for Wisdom in this life, you can’t have wisdom without the Fear of God. The Fear of God is connected to Wisdom because He is the One who provides for it. It goes hand in hand in God’s Hand. Be wise and learn to reverence the Lord your God so that He can say that I will be Your God and You will be my People.

To finish off, I have a Lovely Song that I was actually listening to the whole time I was writing up this post. It’s by Byron Cage and the song is called Royalty. Trust me when I say this Song will bless your heart. Enjoy it and may it minister to you. GOD Bless you everybody!
