Fight the Elements

Hello Peeps!

I just had to post this awesome song by TobyMac called The Elements. I love how the music depicts him in a cold tundra like landscape as he sings this song. Sometimes in life, you’ll find that the environment you’re in can be a cold cold world and not in the literal sense either as in weather-wise; but I mean it figuratively speaking. You could be facing strife at home, or contention in your workplace with adverse co-workers, or issues with your finances, or personal issues that could be health, money, or emotional in nature. Although as Christians, we are not immune to adversity, because we will face trouble, but God always reminds us that we can overcome the world.  You maybe in a tough spot right now, but God says you can overcome it. A couple of years ago my memories were messed with because of a seemingly simple cold that turned into viral encephalitis that causes short-term memory loss. But God preserved my health and is continuing to restore my ability to remember to this day.

Ever since I was a kid, I battled different types of attacks whether they were spiritual attacks, physical sicknesses, whether it was demonic oppression (such as levitating off my bed) or something I could not see twisting my body in unusual ways that left me in severe pain when I woke up in the morning; or a strange sickness that attacked my joints that made it difficult for me to walk when I was 5-7 years of age; sleep-walking, losing weight in the process due to puking blood a lot, and the list goes on… (sorry… didn’t want to disgust you there….but spiritual warfare is not a joke people of God). Some of you can relate to this, and some of you will think: “is that even real?” . Well, my experiences maybe a foreign to the average “Christian”, but then again, it’s hard for me to believe that no one has experienced spiritual attacks or some type of oppression that seemed normal or seemed explainable, but really it was a spiritual attack on you as a person. 

In any case, my message today is that, whatever you have faced in your life that tried to knock you down, just know that you can overcome with God on your side.

John 16:33 [Full Chapter]
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

 1 John 5:4 – For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

1 John 5:5 – Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

I pray that as you listen to this song, may it encourage those that are facing some type of adversity to know that you aren’t the only one going through problems. You may be tired and weary, and may even feel like giving up. Trust me, been there and done that…. but, it is through our trials and tribulations that you learn to develop a fighting spirit. We are like olives being crush by the pressure, but that is how the anointing in us to overcome can flow. I’m not saying that you always need to face adversity to flow in whatever it is you are anointed to do, but sometimes, that pressure is applied in your life to see what you are really made out of. Your locked-in potential will flow out of you when given the right pressure. What tries to pull you down, will only make you stronger. You just have to learn that even when your in the trial, do not give up, do not give in! You will OVERCOME, AMEN! I pray that this song ministers to your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody! 🙂
