Understanding Your Adversary: Remain Focused and Don’t Get Distracted

Hi Everybody,

I spoke on this topic with my church tonight and hope that this message blesses your Spirit. If you want to be successful in life, you have to move by principle, and I mean by Godly principles that can be best understood through the life of Jesus. Jesus shows us so many examples of how we ought to live, so take a look at this on your own and do some soul searching as you pursue greatness in your life. Amen! 😀

Luke 4:1-13 (NKJV) – Satan Tempts Jesus

4 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into[a] the wilderness, 2 being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.

And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”

But Jesus answered him, saying,[b] “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’”[c]

Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him[d] all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.”

And Jesus answered and said to him, Get behind Me, Satan![e] For[f] it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”[g]

temptation-christ.jpgThen he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. 10 For it is written:

‘He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you,’

11 and,

‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’”[h]

12 And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’[i]

13 Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.

John 16:33 NIV

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

When you are pressing through for your blessings in life, when you are in pursuit of elevation or promotion, and going to the next level, you must understand that there is a battle you face against your destiny. This battle is against the adversary (the devil).

You have to understand who your adversary is and how he operates in order to overcome his schemes.

We are praying and fasting not as a religious exercise, but as a spiritual exercise to develop emotional strength, wisdom, discernment in order to grow in Knowledge, Power and Faith to achieve desired results. It takes a lot of work to remain focused, and through prayer and fasting is where your spirit becomes sharpened to deal with things ahead of you that you would not have seen had you not prayed and fasted.

It’s time to understand what it is that you are dealing with when you are in pursuit of elevation in your life.

In Luke 4:2 Jesus was tempted for 40 days and nights by the devil this means that your enemies do not rest until they take you down. Christians are sleeping while their enemies are plotting for their downfall day and night. You cannot afford to take on a passive approach in your daily affairs when the enemies of your destiny do not rest until they have achieved the destruction of your destiny.

Matthew 17:21

However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

My question to you is, are you still sleeping?

1372260154_Temptation_of_ChristIn Luke 4:3 – The devil undermines Jesus by mocking him and attempting to see if Jesus has an area of pride to prove himself and test his loyalties – Do not get suckered into this. You will have people in your life who will mock what you are about and will attempt to get you to prove your self-worth by provoking you to prove who you are in an arrogant way. This provocation is really just a method to get you to act out of pride and arrogance which could turn people off of you, who could have potentially been your destiny helpers. Be still and know that this can cause you to sin and do something outside the will of God if you get suckered into proving your identity and self-worth just because someone mocked you. Try not to be moved by the provocation of your enemies who rile you up to puff yourself up with pride and arrogance to cause you to miss opportunities with people who want to help you move to the next level.

In Luke 4:4 – Jesus didn’t need to prove himself –  He already knew who he was and therefore responded with dignity and grace and told the devil plainly that “listen, you…I know what you’re trying to get me to prove but I’ll tell you something, you need to remember what Your Creator (God) has said and commanded you to do” (this is my paraphrasing what has happened) and therefore, Jesus turned the conversation around to pinpoint the enemy’s lack of obedience to do what the Lord has commanded all creation to do and that is to live by every Word of God. The Devil could not come with a good come back on that point because he knows very well how rebellious he is to God the Father. This is where Christians need to learn to order their conversations right. Just because someone is undermining you, doesn’t mean that it gives you the license to respond with contempt. Learn to wisen up and respond with wisdom and grace. Order your conversations right and act with humility.

Jesus-TemptationIn Luke 4:5-7 – The devil takes Jesus to a high place and claims that he has authority over all the things that any man/woman would desire to have and that if he works and acknowledges the devil by giving him praise, he could have a share of what he has as well as a promise to this allegiance – Listen, do not be fooled by people who try to trick you out of your rightful place of promotion by getting you to side with them and work for them like a gopher to make them look good. I am not talking about rightful submission to authority here. I’m talking about those who scheme to get you to undermine the “right authority” by causing you to take a side that is rebellious in nature in order to achieve gains and/or promotion by dishonest means.

To take this into context, try and imagine this: Have you ever been in a workplace where a supervisor undermines the authority of the manager who you report to and gets co-workers to side with the supervisor in order to gang up together to attempt to overthrow and get the manager fired so that they can take the manager’s place by bribing people into being disobedient through lies and slander (accusations) in order to receive promotion at the promises that the supervisor makes as a form of a pact, or allegiance. “If you do this for me, I’ll help you get the promotion you deserve…”

The devil attempted to do the same thing with Jesus. But how did Jesus respond?

In Luke 4:8 – Jesus told Satan to get behind him – Sometimes you need people to get behind you so that you don’t lose focus on what’s ahead of you. You can shove such people who are there to distract you “one side to the back” (a Nigerian saying) if they are in your face. Jesus refused to entertain the conniving nature of his enemy to be disobedient to the True authority Jesus submits to, which is God the Father. In the same way, you may face people in life who will try to get you to be rebellious and cause you to attack the leadership, to undermine and scheme against the heads of your company or church and overthrow managers to steal their places of authority by dishonest actions and slander. This also is a test of where your loyalties lie.

God does not approve of rebellion in any fashion, so why should you side with the devil and become associated with the oppressor? You will find that those that help such conniving people become a slave to the oppressor who never intended to fulfill their blanket lies and promises. Children of God, it is important to understand the meaning of submission to the right authority. Where do your loyalties lie? Do not entertain people that get you to rebel. You will find a tight noose around your neck if you fall for such schemes in your life. This is a trick the adversary uses every time to get you into bondage. Be wise to rebuke those who attempt to get you to undermine the leadership in your church, your workplace, your family or in any other area of your life. You will preserve your soul if you understand the meaning of submission.

In Luke 4:9-11 – The devil attempts yet again for Jesus to prove himself, but in this time, he wants Jesus to take a huge risk to prove that his identity is indeed the “Son of God” based on his qualifications – Sometimes your enemies will be able to guess and see where you are heading in your destiny, and they will try to trick you into proving yourself quickly by taking a high and unnecessary risk just to prove that you are indeed what they suspect you are in your journey of life. They entice you to seek recognition concerning your identity and abilities by pursuing to get noticed in the wrong way.

Do not be fooled into seeking recognition for the wrong purpose. This will undermine your integrity.

Let us take an example to understand what is going on here:  Say for example, you know that you are good at public speaking and your boss acknowledges it and has given you the responsibility to be his speech writer. You are then invited to listen to your boss speak at a function but a co-worker thinks it is unfair that you aren’t being acknowledged for the numerous speeches that you have written for your boss to speak. This co-worker then tells you, to hijack the function and embarrass your boss by letting everyone know that you wrote that speech for him and that your boss doesn’t know how to do speeches without your help. By doing this, it is assumed that people will give you praise and acknowledge you for your skills and this will draw away the attention from your boss and put you in the spotlight. But the catch is, if you listen to your sly co-worker’s advice, you will find out by the very next day that you are fired and without a job because you undermined your integrity by undermining your boss in your pursuit of recognition for promotion.

Do not be provoked into seeking recognition and acknowledgement the wrong way.

The adversary is always provocative, and malicious in what they try to get you to do in order to miss the mark in your destiny.

How did Jesus respond to that provocation?

In Luke 4:12 – Jesus responded by rebuking the devil and telling him you can’t tempt me to go outside the will of God. In the same way, if anybody attempts to get you to seek recognition in the wrong way, you should tell them where to go and not bother you because you want to hold on to this beautiful thing called INTEGRITY! Do not allow people to cause you to miss opportunities for advancement by making you undermine authority, and doing things dishonestly in order to achieve promotion or elevation. Smarten up and do not give room for nonsense.

In Luke 4:13 – The devil departed from Jesus after tempting him for the last time and will wait for another opportune time to tempt him again to go outside the will of God – Your enemies will try and try again to get you to do something wrong that will make you miss the mark. Sin is defined as “missing the mark”. You don’t want to miss the mark in your destiny, so as we pray and fast, seek God to give you wisdom to know what to do, strength to withstand temptations to do something outside the will of God concerning your life, discernment to identify who your enemies of your destiny are, knowledge to handle every situation with God’s grace, and the will to remain focused on the goal without being distracted.

Stay.Focussed

You need God to help you with every attack that may come from the enemies of your destiny. It is not “if” the enemy comes that you need God’s help, it’s “when”. You will face obstacles; you will face trials but you must determine within yourself to hold onto your integrity. Jesus demonstrates that you can strengthen yourself through prayer and fasting to face such schemes that occur in your life. This battle is won when you operate in the realm of the Spirit of God. Your own might and power is not sufficient to handle each attack that comes your way. Seek God and He will show you the way to gain success the right way. Put your Faith and Trust in God.

Zechariah 4:6

So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.

Don’t make prayer and fasting a religious exercise, it is your spiritual warfare weapon for success.

Philippians 3:12-16 – Pressing Toward the Goal

12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. 16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.

The Anointing for Breakthrough Started with Jesus – by Minister Sherline —

Hello Everybody! 😀

My message from this past Friday is also posted on my church’s website via The Anointing for Breakthrough Started with Jesus – by Minister Sherline . I’m on day 6 of the 7 day Fast and I give God praise.

On April 6, 2016, marked the 2 year anniversary since my Pastors and I and my sister started the church. We give God all the honor and all the praise. It has been challenging but I’m so happy to see people desiring to seek God more in our church that we’ve been getting so many people contacting us across the globe and in other cities that want to connect. I believe that God wants to equip His Church for the greater call in people’s lives, but everything starts with the foundation of your belief system. Many churches have clogged up the foundation to suit their own agendas, but we must advance the agenda of Christ in order to see His Word become manifest in a generation that needs to know, Jesus came for all people, and not just some, but all people to live a purpose driven life, Amen! 😀

The Power of the Anointing for Breakthrough is already in you. The word “Christ” (in Greek khristos) means “the Anointed One”. If you have Christ in you the hope of glory that means that the anointing is already in you through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The question is, is it operating inside of you?

Are you tapping into what is already inside of you if you are a believer?

The Anointing God puts on you cannot be taken away, it is generational.

Exodus 40:15

You shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may minister to Me as priests; for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.”

The Anointing for breakthrough started with Jesus

Jesus had first fasted for 40 days in the desert while being challenged by Satan before releasing this Word found in Luke 4.

Jesus-teaching

Luke 4:16-30 – Jesus Rejected at Nazareth

16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,[j]
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”[k]

20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him.21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” 22 So all bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, “Is this not Joseph’s son?”

23 He said to them, “You will surely say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done in Capernaum,[l] do also here in Your country.’” 24 Then He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country. 25 But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; 26 but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath,[m] in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. 27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.”

28 So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, 29 and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff. 30 Then passing through the midst of them, He went His way.

The Anointing on Jesus is the same anointing we need to tap into as Christians in order to operate in a realm of perpetual breakthroughs.

First the anointing Jesus speaks of comes from the Holy Spirit (Verse 18). The Holy Spirit provides the power that backs the anointing for you to be able to do the following:

  1. To preach the gospel to the poor: It brings good news to the Poor (poverty in spirit, poverty in finance, poverty in relationship, in fact all areas of Poverty).

  2. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted: It has the power to heal what was broken in your heart because everything you do in your life is a reflection of what is in your heart. Out of the abundance of the heart your mouth speaks.

  3. To proclaim liberty to the captives:  It breaks bondages to those bound to sin in any area (spiritually and physically). Because the Holy Spirit provides the power that backs the anointing, you need to understand that you need to tap into the spiritual realm to move what cannot be moved in the natural realm. This can be done by prayer and fasting and meditating on God’s Word. Every breakthrough you require for God to intervene is only found through the power of the Holy Spirit. If you don’t tap into the Spirit, you will operate in a realm of mediocrity as you strive by might and power. Learn to humble yourself and go before God to whom is your source of breakthrough.

  4. And recovery of sight to the blind, – Jesus doesn’t just restore physical vision, he restores your spiritual sight to see into the spirit, He restores your vision so that you are able to see yourself in the way that God sees you and He also restores the overall vision you require in order for you to be successful in your life.  In order to be successful, you require Revelation.

What is Revelation? The dictionary defines it as:

  1. the act of revealing or disclosing; disclosure.
  2. something revealed or disclosed, especially a striking disclosure, as of something not before realized.
  3. Theology.

God’s disclosure of Himself and His will to His creatures; an instance of such communication or disclosure; something thus communicated or disclosed; something that contains such disclosure, as the Bible.

In the KJV it says in Proverbs 29:18 – Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

The NKJV version says: Where there is no revelation the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law.

Vision brings you revelation, however, you are required to keep the law which is contained in God’s word; meaning that you must follow God’s Word. It is not enough to be a hearer of it when you don’t do what it says. You don’t want to be a Revelation Short of a Breakthrough.

Vision allows you to see what you couldn’t see before and it brings about direction towards your elevation.

When God gives you a revelation, he reveals to you what was hidden so that you are guided in the right direction.

You need Revelation for ELEVATION.

How can you follow the Lord’s direction when you cannot see?

That is why it is important to meditate on God’s Word so that you are provided clear direction as to where you ought to go, rather than follow another man’s revelation of where they think you should go. You have to learn to see God by following His Word. That’s why there is emphasis to meditate on His Word day and night so that it does not depart from your mouth. The more you meditate, the more you can see clearly and hear clearly. If you don’t meditate on His Word, you will follow a false direction and will end up misguided into the wrong direction and that is why God’s people keep perishing, because they don’t keep God’s word. They don’t meditate on it and therefore, they run in the dark and find themselves lost and directionless. It is important to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus if you want to maintain the vision that He has for your life which is in:

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

  • To set at liberty those who are oppressed; The anointing is so powerful that it gives you the ability to deliver people from oppression whether it is demonically inspired (demonization) or legally inspired (through the laws of men) to oppress people into slavery/torture of different sorts (i.e. human trafficking/ war etc). God has given us authority to challenge and defeat the oppressors in order to set captives free.

  • To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” The anointing also prophesies what the Lord will do in every year. When you proclaim, you are declaring what it is that you want to see. The anointing gives you the power to call forth those things that be not as though they were. You can call your breakthroughs into being by proclaiming by faith what it is that you want to see happen in your year. The thing is, whatever you proclaim requires you to partner with the Holy Spirit in order to see your breakthrough.

Romans 4:17  As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

The Power of the Anointing:

  • Confounds the wise and the mighty (Luke 4:22). People will not know why God has put such an anointing on your life, but God is willing to use a willing vessel to do great and mighty works. Look at David as an example.

1 Corinthians 1:27 (NKJV)  But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

  • The Anointing locates the least likely for increase (Luke 4:25-26). There were many widows in Israel and yet the prophet Elijah during the time of the great famine/drought that lasted 3 years 6 months visited the widow who fed him the last morsel she had for herself and her son. The oil in her pots brought increase in a time of famine/lack.

1 Kings 17:8-16 Elijah and the Widow

Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” 10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, indeed a widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Please bring me a little water in a cup, that I may drink.” 11 And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”

12 So she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

eikon_1132_13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’”

15 So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days. 16 The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah.

  • The Anointing does not discriminate, it locates willing vessels to receive breakthrough (Luke 4:27). The same applies to Naaman in 2 Kings 5: 1-19 who was a great and honorable Commander who the Lord had given him victory to the Syrian army that he served as commander, was also struck by leprosy. However when he listened to the prophet Elisha from the enemies camp (the Children of Israel) he was healed. It just goes to show that the anointing can even heal the least likely to believe in the God you serve.

2 Kings 5: 1-19 – Naaman’s Leprosy Healed

Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valor, but a leper. And the Syrians had gone out on raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel. She waited on Naaman’s wife. Then she said to her mistress, “If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy.” And Naaman went in and told his master, saying, “Thus and thus said the girl who is from the land of Israel.”

Then the king of Syria said, “Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel.”

So he departed and took with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten changes of clothing. Then he brought the letter to the king of Israel, which said,

Now be advised, when this letter comes to you, that I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy.

And it happened, when the king of Israel read the letter, that he tore his clothes and said, “Am I God, to kill and make alive, that this man sends a man to me to heal him of his leprosy? Therefore please consider, and see how he seeks a quarrel with me.”

So it was, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, “Why have you torn your clothes? Please let him come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.”

Then Naaman went with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha’s house. 10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.” 11 But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, “Indeed, I said to myself, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.’ 12 Are not the Abanah[a] and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage. 13 And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” 14 So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

eikon_1142_15 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, “Indeed, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel; now therefore, please take a gift from your servant.”

16 But he said, “As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will receive nothing.” And he urged him to take it, but he refused.

17 So Naaman said, “Then, if not, please let your servant be given two mule-loads of earth; for your servant will no longer offer either burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods, but to the Lord. 18 Yet in this thing may the Lord pardon your servant: when my master goes into the temple of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow down in the temple of Rimmon—when I bow down in the temple of Rimmon, may the Lord please pardon your servant in this thing.”

19 Then he said to him, “Go in peace.” So he departed from him a short distance.

  • The Anointing Offends those that do not practice the Truth (Luke 4:28) People will not like the fact that the anointing in your life reveals their own weaknesses and will stir up jealousy, hatred, and people will want to attack you but the anointing will still preserve you.

Jesus kept emphasizing in the synagogue that a prophet is not accepted in their own country and was calling that out on the Jews. Elijah and Elisha were such prophets and they kept giving instructions to willing vessels to receive blessings who were foreigners. In the Bible, you will find the frustration of the Lord in the book of Isaiah who keeps saying “Oh Jerusalem, how I have sent you many prophets and you did not receive them” and they kept killing them, dismissing them and not hearing them because they would not accept the instruction that the Lord had to give to them to guide them back in the right direction. The blessing of the anointing was no longer reserved for just the Jews, it was also for the Gentiles. That’s why Jesus states that He was going to pour out all His Spirit on all flesh. You no longer needed to be a Jew to receive the anointing and this reality and truth heavily offended those in the Synagogue.

207139744_640

The anointing gives direction to willing vessels and it does not discriminate. This is why a Muslim or any non-believer for that matter can come to church and receive the Word and act on it (being a doer of what they hear) and receive the reward that a Christian sitting in the same room would miss. The Anointing searches willing vessels that are ready to obey the Lords instruction in order to receive the blessing that they seek. This is why the people wanted to murder Jesus upon hearing all this. They were not ready for the Truth and wanted to kill him by pushing Jesus off a cliff, but they were unable to because the Anointing protects your destiny. That’s how powerful it truly is and this is the same anointing that is in all believers that have been baptized receiving the same power through the Holy Spirit.

Drawing Closer to God

Hello Everybody! 😀

It’s been a while since my last post but I’m spending time with God by praying and fasting with my church for 1 week for the month of April. Although it is for 1 week, I’m looking forward to the next month where we will be doing 30 days for Prayer and Fasting. I really want people to tap into breakthroughs this year but not many churches want to pray and fast these days. Sometimes, the challenges we face require more than just prayer, you may require fasting in order to receive your breakthrough. I know that every time I’ve fasted, I’ve always seen results. People in my church have seen results to the point that people keep asking when is the next prayer and fasting session. People are hungry to tap into what can only be found in the Spirit. The Lord reveals so much during the fast that it empowers you when you humble your flesh to yield to the Power of the Holy Spirit.

Might and Power can only take you so far, but it is by His Spirit that you conquer your challenges that you face. It’s day 2 of the Fast for me for this month since we started yesterday and God is just doing amazing things. I feel like He’s just showing me things in the Word that I didn’t see before and I’m preparing to release this Word for Friday night with my members. I will eventually post it on here and on my church’s website Livingproofcentre.org after I release it to the Church first, but y’all can wait right lol. 🙂

For now I just want to post this song that has been ministering to my Spirit. It’s from Antwaun Stanley called You Are the Source.

I pray that this song blesses your Spirit Today.  God Bless You everybody! 😀

The CRY Movement

Hi Everybody!

I just wanted to advertise that if you’re living here in Toronto, there is going to be a movement happening on July 28, 2012 at Massey Hall downtown Toronto called The CRY Movement. I just heard about it recently and it’s a call to prayer and fasting for the city that I live in. More than 10, 000 people show up for it each year and from different denominations and ethnicities. It’s a massive movement that I just ran into and would love to attend and extend invitations. People, I’m expecting a revival fire this year, so if you are interested, come on down. God deserves the highest praise AMEN!

Wisdom for Effective Victory – Choosing your Battles Wisely

via mobaptist.org

Day 9 of 21 Day Daniel Fast –  Yay! My swollen eye is healed. It took 24 hrs but it’s all better now. God is GOOD!!! I heard from some of my colleagues that it could have been a spider bite *yikes*. I sincerely hope not! At first I contemplated putting my pic with the swollen eye on here but then again I thought…..hmmm…. nah…people might get grossed out so just know that it’s healed everybody lol.

Today’s meditation is about choosing your battles wisely. Yes, it is a given that we are to remain focused on the goal at hand here but do not ignore your enemies gorilla warfare tactics on your soul! When you are in engaged in Spiritual warfare, you have to understand that the Devil isn’t sitting there watching you win…he isn’t going to let you get HIM while he’s sitting down. You are always on the offensive as you fight for your victory through Prayer and Fasting.  Keep your expectations high and then make them higher. This battle isn’t a walk in the park either so you shouldn’t rely on perceiving things with our natural senses  since you are supposed to be seeking the Gifts of the Holy Spirit at this time because He is the Great Helper in such situations. If you want deliverance and healing in your life or in the lives of others, including your family, make sure you understand that you’ve got to keep your mind together. This isn’t the time to crack under pressure. You will suffer battle fatigue but that’s because you are many steps ahead to your victory through Jesus. The Lord will go ahead of you in battle and will ensure your Victory as you fight the Good fight of Faith.

Matthew 11:12
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

I must also emphasize that although we acknowledge that we are in a serious battle, you also have to learn how to choose your battles wisely. Don’t just pick up and react to everything that is happening around you. You should already know that the agenda of your adversary is to place key people you have in your life (with vile intentions) to rile you into anger and act on it foolishly because their aim is to get you offended. Make no mistake and realize that you will start to see the wolves in sheep’s clothing (Matthew 10:16) and when you do, you must act with prudence and with wisdom.

You’ll see things that you never saw before because God will lift the scales off your eyes to see what you never noticed before (Acts 9:18). You will experience people trying to agitate you during this Fast and it’s all about holding your ground and remaining steadfast in the midst of the battle (1 Chronicles 28:7). You should learn how to respond appropriately rather than react negatively to situations as they arise because when you are racked up with your emotional self, you will fail to reason and will act on things without wisdom. The point I am getting to here is that you have to choose to be better than your OLD self. You are Fasting to become a NEW creation and toss away your childish behaviors of the past (1 Corinthians 13:11). In order to mature with Wisdom, you have to set aside the foolish reactions, the foolish ideas, the foolish counsel (wayward thoughts, friends, family members or peers) that lead you astray, the foolish things that poke fun at Divine Wisdom that guides you into your victory.

You’ve got to ask yourself can you afford to go through this Fast and finish UNCHANGED???? This is why I keep saying, don’t do things in Vain. If you aren’t determining to come out NEW and transformed from this Fast, you are wasting time and I suggest that you don’t continue fasting because it will be done in Vain.

For those that are persevering for their breakthrough, understand that the Greater the Need that you have of God requires a Greater sacrifice. You don’t have to stop Fasting after 21 Days if you feel led to continue, but remember the focus is to dismantle the works of the wicked one in your life through prayer and meditation of God’s Word and to intercede on behalf of your family, your church, your workplace and your political leaders that govern the land that you live in.

Expect to receive answers from Heaven, Expect to be Transformed and Renewed, Expect to increase your level of FAITH and Expect to Prosper with the Guidance of the Holy Spirit that provides Wisdom in your Daily affairs. Seek HIM (JESUS) and HE will answer YOU.  You have to believe that in order to receive what He already has for you.

Here are 2 Videos to Help you Keep Encouraged as you go day-to-day in your daily battles. Remain Blessed in all that you Do and You seek HIS face.

The Latter Rain will be Greater – Receiving God’s Answer

Day 5 of 21 Day Daniel Fast –  Today’s meditation is from the Book of Joel about acknowledging when your desert/wilderness season is over and when you must prepare to receive the Latter rain of Blessings in your life from the Lord. For me last year was amazing but I did have a few desert situations where I was wondering “when will I receive a greater blessing?” because I believe everybody has a PROSPERITY PORTION according to the Jeremiah 29:11 Promise from the Lord.

When Reading the book of Joel, I received a great encouragement in that when the people Fasted and prayed in their desert season, God opened up the heavens for DIVINE rain of Blessings on the Land that had suffered a severe drought. In this Daniel Fast, although we are fighting against Principalities and Powers and Spiritual Wickedness in the High places, let us not forget why we are fighting in the Spirit in the First place. We want the ENEMIES OF GOD TO PAY BACK EVERYTHING THEY STOLE FROM US WITH INTEREST!!!!

I believe that there will be a rise of Calebs and Joshuas in this year of DIVINE GOVERNMENT who will lead people into their promised land. As we pray and Fast, we must seek God’s face to increase our spiritual discernment to point out the Calebs and Joshuas in our lives. No more of this 40 year desert experience where the people of Israel wondered about like lost lambs with no home based on the discouragement of the report of the 10 spies who were sent out to the land of Canaan to spy over the land that the Lord had promised to them in your season (Numbers 13:27-31). Just because there were squatters (Numbers 13:27-29) in the land doesn’t mean that the land belonged to them. Fight for what is yours and be like Caleb and Joshua who kicked them out of the Land. Ignore the Naysayers during your Fast for breakthrough and be like Caleb and Joshua who were able to enter into the promised land because of their level of Faith (Numbers 14:24; Numbers 14:30; Numbers 26:65; Numbers 32:12).

You will receive your promise when you develop a fighting spirit to take back what the enemy has tried to steal from you, be it your home, your health, your finances, your children, your mind, your peace, whatever it is, Fight in the Spirit to obtain Victory in the Natural. You don’t have to accept the current status quo, your current circumstances and your current situations if they don’t represent the Jeremiah 29:11 promise. When you fight, don’t use your own might and power, for you will lose if you do. Seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, for what you war in the Spirit can only be fought by the Holy Spirit, so Fight with God on your side. Remember, you can only win with God on your side so always seek strategies of engaging a spiritual battle with Divine wisdom that comes from the Almighty God.

Zechariah 4:6
So he answered and said to me: “ This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘ Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts

I believe that there will be people who will rise up and take possession of their promises (which are your blessings of prosperity) that the Lord has prepared for them because they believe in the Word of the Lord over their circumstances. Whose report will you believe? I will believe in the Report of the Lord. Don’t look at the desert that you are in right now and think of the Latter RAIN that God wants to pour into your life.

Mark 9:23
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Believe for: The Rain of Blessings, the Latter Rain, the Overflow and the Gifts of the HOLY SPIRIT. I’m looking out for my Rainy season and Praying for the Overflow. What are you Praying for??? Do you want the latter Rain??? Ask yourselves these questions in your meditations.

So in reading the book of Numbers and the book of Joel, I thought to myself, I want to be like a Caleb and Joshua who has a heart to pursue and believe for the blessings that belong to me, a Child of God. We have to learn to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).  Don’t you want to receive what God already has prepared for you???? I know for sure I do, but that means I have to increase my level of FAITH in order to obtain what God has promised to me. I have no idea how I will receive my promises or by what means, but I’m seeking God’s face for His answer.

We must seek to increase our level of Faith in order to receive according to the measure of that Faith when the Lord prepares us for the great Outpouring for the overflow. Are you ready to increase your level of Faith during your Spiritual Warfare Fast? The Promises of God need those with a Caleb type spirit and level of Faith who will fight for the Promise instead of those that listened to the Naysayers who were intimidated by the squatters robbing them from Gods promise in their lives. Are you willing to fight in your prayer life for your promises? I want to and I will start by ignoring the negative and will call forth things that are not as though they were (Romans 4:17).

Maintain the FOCUS and fix your eyes on Jesus Christ, Holy God, Our Counselor, Prince of Peace and the Author and Finisher of your Faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Read Joel 2:12-32 and focus on the highlighted verses.

Joel 2:12-32 (New International Version)

Rend Your Heart

12 “Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” 13 Rend your heart and not your garments.Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. 14 Who knows? He may turn and have pity and leave behind a blessing– grain offerings and drink offerings for the LORD your God. 15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly. 16 Gather the people, consecrate the assembly; bring together the elders, gather the children, those nursing at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her chamber. 17 Let the priests, who minister before the LORD, weep between the temple porch and the altar. Let them say, “Spare your people, O LORD. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ “

The LORD’s Answer

18 Then the LORD will be jealous for his land and take pity on his people. 19 The LORD will reply to them: “I am sending you grain, new wine and oil, enough to satisfy you fully; never again will I make you an object of scorn to the nations. 20 “I will drive the northern army far from you, pushing it into a parched and barren land, with its front columns going into the eastern sea and those in the rear into the western sea. And its stench will go up; its smell will rise.” Surely he has done great things. 21 Be not afraid, O land; be glad and rejoice. Surely the LORD has done great things. 22 Be not afraid, O wild animals, for the open pastures are becoming green. The trees are bearing their fruit; the fig tree and the vine yield their riches. 23 Be glad, O people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains,as before. 24 The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil. 25 “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten– the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm– my great army that I sent among you. 26 You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the LORD your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed. 27 Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the LORD your God, and that there is no other; never again will my people be shamed.

The Day of the LORD

28 “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. 30 I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. 31 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. 32 And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the survivors whom the LORD calls.

To end my meditation I have an awesome song by Israel Houghton and New Breed called “Your Latter will be Greater”. I hope it blesses you today. Be encouraged and remember that God is with you in every season of your life. Seek for the latter Rain in your Life.

Scriptures to Meditate

Joel 2:23 (NKJV)

23 Be glad then, you children of Zion,
And rejoice in the LORD your God;
For He has given you the former rain faithfully,[a]

The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month.

1 Chronicles 12:14-16

14 These were from the sons of Gad, captains of the army; the least was over a hundred, and the greatest was over a thousand. 15 These are the ones who crossed the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all its banks; and they put to flight all those in the valleys, to the east and to the west. 16 Then some of the sons of Benjamin and Judah came to David at the stronghold.

Zechariah 10:1
[ Restoration of Judah and Israel ] Ask the LORD for rain In the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, Grass in the field for everyone.

James 5:7

See! Your house is left to you desolate; and assuredly, I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’”

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD! We have blessed you from the house of the LORD.

Preparing for the Overflow – Don’t Settle for Less than the Best that is Yet to Come

Day 3 of the 21 Day Daniel Fast – Today’s meditation is about Preparing our hearts for receiving the overflow. I believe that there is a great outpouring of God’s Spirit at this time when we choose to consecrate ourselves before Him as we seek His face during this Fast. Some will receive and some won’t based on their personal level of expectation. What are you expecting during this season of Spiritual Warfare? Do you want your family members that are far from God to be saved? Do you want restoration in your marriages, in your finances, in your relationships with your friends and families? Do you seek healing from a disease or sickness? Do you seek answers for many of the questions that You are seeking from God? What are you expecting from God??? Do you even believe that you WILL receive your answers??? Will you be mature enough to handle the answers as they come down to your address??? What is your level of expectation in this year of DIVINE GOVERNMENT???

Some people can be satisfied with settling for just enough to get by and by even though our God is a God of the overflow, a God of more than enough. We are often taught not to settle for less than the best as we grow up but I want to challenge you and say don’t settle for JUST ENOUGH and pursue MORE than ENOUGH because the more you receive, the more you have to give and the more your generation and future generations will get blessed. Let me be clear and say that I’m not saying to be greedy, I’m saying seek above your expectations so that when you are blessed you will have enough to bless others, Comprende? Do you see where I’m driving at here? Pursue Generational BLESSINGS. You were born to be blessed to be a blessing!

When your cup overflows in Faith it is so that you can share it with others. Much like Wealth, Faith is not to be hoarded, it is to be shared. When you empty your flow, you can receive a new downpour of fresh Revelation from the Lord. That is what I mean by the overflow. I am expecting an overflow from the Lord this year not for just myself, but for the church I attend where I minister in my Church Choir and for my fellow bloggers who follow my journey of self-discovery at WordPress and for whoever I encounter in my life. We are ministers wherever we go if you believe in the God you serve. The idea here is that I am not satisfied with my level of Faith. Are you satisfied with Yours??? I don’t care how man measures my level of Faith whether they deem it high or low, I personally am NOT satisfied with my level because it is not God’s level for me. I want more of Him so that I can look more like Him in this Life. I want an overflow of Gods presence in my life, don’t you?????

A NATION that fears GOD is what I desire in my personal meditation this year so that the land and its in habitants can be blessed. When wickedness reigns in political realms, it is the people that suffer. We must choose to fight back and drive darkness out of the Land or wherever you live. You don’t have to accept the current status quo! Through prayer and Fasting, we can drive darkness to flee and make the light of God’s Word shine brighter on the Land. I want to believe in the blessings of humbling ourselves before God so that He will Hear from Heaven and Heal our Lands. Don’t you want the same thing? When the Land is Healed, families are healed along with it and propserity begins to manifest as a great Harvest and presentation of the Glory of God. Pursue the greater blessings so that your future and the future of your family is blessed along with it.

Prince Michael the Angel

Like the voice of the one crying out in the wilderness prepare the way for our Lord! Right now as Kings are being dethroned in this world, the Wealth of the wicked have been laid up for the Righteous and for the purpose of Making GOD SOVEREIGN. When the Body of Christ unites with this same focus, God will perform His wonders. I truly believe that. However, He has to prepare His people to receive His government in order to Rule in the World. So during this Fast, Focus on your relationship with the Lord and incline your ears to Hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to YOU the CHURCHES. The church isn’t a physical building, YOU are the CHURCH. You will be able to rule in your families with wisdom, in your workplaces with prosperity and in any sphere of influence that you have when you make God the Head and Lord in your Heart, in your Mind and in your Spirit.

The Overflow will flow and some will be blessed by it and some will drown if they are not ready for it. God won’t give things to people who cannot be trusted with little. So ask yourself, can God Trust you with the Outpouring???? What must you do NOW to be prepared for it when it does start to Pour. The Harvest that He has are for those who are prepared. Prepare and do not be like the lazy man that doesn’t prepare for winter and ends up begging during the time of Harvest. PREPARE, PREPARE, PREPARE.

13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son.
