Don’t be fooled as I was. Recognize occultic influences for what they are.

I didn’t want to face my furies. I wanted someone else to do it for me. As a compulsive person, I was particularly vulnerable to the quick fix of mind-bending fads and cults.

Compulsive people are dependency-prone. And from childhood I’d been attracted by the invisible world.

Superstition was part and parcel of New England life. There were rabbit’s foot keychains and horseshoes nailed over doorways.

Then came the Ouija board craze. Great mysteries were revealed by this means, a neighbor assured me. She had special clairvoyant insights, and in my early teens I made frequent visits to her house seeking answers to all kinds of problems.

Once as a seventh-grader, my friend Betty Lou and I attended a magic show at the Barre (Vermont) Municipal Auditorium. When the magician needed volunteers, we streaked to the stage.

Perched on wooden folding chairs, we stared obediently into his intense blue eyes. Later friends told us that after being given hypnotic suggestions, we had scratched frantically as if covered by fleas and shivered violently from icy cold blasts.

Afterward, my mind wouldn’t focus. I felt confused, disjointed. The next morning I made the mile walk back to the auditorium. At my knock the door was flung open, and there he stood.

“I’m one of the people you hypnotized last night,” I told him. “I’ve felt strange ever since you woke us up. My mind seems fuzzy. Everything is all mixed up.”

“You must be one of the very sensitive ones,” he replied. “Really, what I did last night was routine. Perhaps you went into a higher plane of consciousness than the others.”

He pulled a chair beside mine and explained that he would call upon a higher power to help me. I didn’t understand the words he used after that.

Ten minutes or more passed. His voice trailed off into a chant.

“You should have no further problems now, Miss,” he said.

I thanked him weakly and backed out of the room. But a part of me that had felt safe and secure before, now felt violated.

Dabbling With Deception
Psychic phenomena continued to fascinate and lure me. Shortly after representing my state as Miss Vermont in the Miss America pageant, I visited a woman who told fortunes with a deck of cards.

Disclaimer Notice: Breaking this Code of Silence

Hi Everyone,

I just want to say that the next few posts maybe 18+ in content because they are addressing touchy issues like Pornography and sexual abuse and some of these testimonies from these individuals aren’t for the faint of heart or for the spiritually and emotionally  immature individual. I have been feeling in my spirit, that I need to address the things that are hurting people in the church, and by church I mean globally in scale and how this code of silence has functioned to prevent people from being healed and delivered.

Sister Res’s last post that I just re-blogged here on WordPress is a prime example of some of the things I’d like to address. The predator in this case was a Minister in the Church mind you, and I’m not going to say that all predators are in church because they can be found anywhere and everywhere. However, it is one of the institutions where we expect our shepherds to protect the flock when such grievous affairs happen. Shoving something like this under the rug and using the law to manipulate and continue such sinful affairs is APOSTASY that needs to be curbed with serious reprimand and Godly correction that may require legal action.

If you all have read my post regarding The Importance of Detecting False Humility you will understand that the predator in Sister Res’ article called Why Child Sexual Abuse Grooming Must become a Felony: The Story of Jason Kidd and His Daughter fits to the “T” for TRUTH.

There are some Wolves in Sheep’s clothing in the Body of Christ and discernment is one thing that we can use to detect them, but after detection there needs to be some sort of wisdom and practical action and structure to deal with these wolves accordingly.

Apostasy causes people to put the Church into disrepute. The Word cannot reach those that have been abused by manipulators who use the Word to abuse the flock. I’m telling you that God ain’t pleased with such matters and as of late, my spirit has been grieving over this area. I’ve been praying about this for a while, because of stories I’ve read and also because I’ve encountered people who turned away from the church because of these very same reasons of abuse. So Please take the Disclaimer Notice seriously and understand that the few posts that are yet to come may be heavy and I appreciate my readers and respect you enough to let you know this in advance so that you aren’t shocked regarding the content.

Personal Testimony

I admit that at first I didn’t want to do this, but I cannot ignore what I feel the Holy Spirit wants me to talk about. I can’t explain why this is gripping me right now, but I feel like I can’t keep my mouth shut about this anymore since I also have been in a situation where trust was broken by someone I knew.

My first prophetic dream that I had was at age 4 concerning a woman that was to be my nanny when I got to Australia. When we landed in the country, we were introduced to the workers at the house and she was one of the live-in nannies introduced. She was a pretty person who smiled a lot but I was tired after a long flight from Germany and didn’t really care for the introductions. I was 4 years old and wanted to sleep. The first night in Australia I had my first prophetic dream. In this dream this woman (the nanny) chased me in a mall and when I got to the second floor, there was no railing and she pushed me off deliberately and I fell. Before I hit the ground, I woke up and I heard the spirit of the Lord speak to me at age 4 and He said “Do not trust this woman, she is very evil”. I know this sounds far fetched to you right about now but this is really true. As a 4 year old, I didn’t understand why I shouldn’t trust her. Later on I soon began to realize why. She ended up being the woman that would later molest me and God tried to warn me, a 4-year old child who was innocent enough to trust in such an evil adult that this would happen. At this point, I do not care if people think my testimony is whack and unbelievable, but this is something that happened to me and I’m going to be frank about it since silence is deadly.

I am here to say that I too am a victim of molestation and sexual abuse. This woman that was my live-in nanny (not a family member)  was supposedly a “Christian” who actually in fact was a person who tried to groom me into practicing witchcraft. She exposed me to pornography first, tried to make me pray weird prayers that I soon found out later in my walk were incantations, gave me strange items to which I suffered a lot of spiritual attacks after that. She tried to poison me slowly with food since she would always prepare my breakfast as a means of silencing me about the molestation because she was fearful that I’d talk to my grandparents and reveal what she had done and get arrested. She made me promise not to tell my grandparents and bought me gifts to keep my mouth shut. As a kid, I didn’t know any better and did what she wanted me to do. Sometimes I wish I could have told my grandparents about this situation but my grandma was strict so I thought I would be blamed for allowing these things to happen to me, but later on I realized I should have confided in my grandparents when I could have because they were always on my side.

This so-called nanny often told me that she “loved me” but later on she grew cold and I mentally shut down. She then realized I wasn’t buying her “love-act” and got paranoid and tried to poison me but I still remained loyal and remained silent because I felt that nothing could be done about it. There was a time I would vomit everyday the food she prepared for me to eat to the point of blood and my grandmother got scared and took me to the family doctor because I was losing weight. There was an exchange where I heard my doctor tell a nurse that I had been progressively poisoned since they found something in my blood. At age 5 I could understand a lot so they didn’t know I was listening to the conversation.   She had the trust of my Grandparents, my uncle and aunt and she used that to her advantage. There is more to this story but I think I’ll stop here. What I can say is that I felt like the deed was done and I had to live with the consequences. This was a grave error on my part, but does a young child know any better?

I became disillusioned in my walk but somehow maintained my faith in God despite these events. This story is just one statistic. I praise God that I can share it without fear here. I feel such a release and I don’t care what people think of me now…She wasn’t the only manipulative person I encountered because there were also teachers in the “Christian” schools I attended that also betrayed my trust but that’s a story for another day. The reason why I’m telling my story here is so that for those that feel alone and don’t know what to do, silence keeps you trapped in the cycle of abuse. The only way to set yourself free is if you speak. I wish I learned this earlier, but evil knows no bounds and tries to do all that it can to get you to remain silent. Silence is deadly people. Even though I’ve been through this abuse, I have forgiven my abuser(s). There is no point in maintaining hatred because that is what keeps us bound in the first place. God wants people to be really real with themselves and not be in denial of the pain they feel. So for the next few posts, please listen to these testimonies with an open heart and don’t be so quick to judge without really hearing the truth for what it is about for these individuals. Sometimes the raw truth is hard to handle but Jesus says, The truth will set you FREE.

So my intention for this post and the following posts is to address difficult stories and come out of the closet with stuff that churches are hush hush about.  Jesus Loves and has always loved His Flock and I feel that He is sad and grieved when His children are abused by folk who are entrusted to care for them but are really Wolves in sheep clothing. There is a high price to pay for those that practice such lawlessness and abuse should not be tolerated under any circumstances. Keep that in mind.

Jesus is the True Shepherd and if people aren’t following the True Shepherd’s example to tend to the flock and end up abusing the flock, I feel that some people should be removed without question. This isn’t a local problem, it’s a world wide one and people should not fear addressing these issues like it is. Some churches do and many churches don’t but is protecting one felon at the expense of the flock that important? Is God pleased with that????  At some point everyone will be held accountable on that day of judgement…we have to address sin like it is and not water down the truth so “some people can sleep well at night”. So please regard my disclaimer now and appreciate where I’m coming from with the few posts that I will prepare. I fear God enough to do this regardless of whether I become unpopular or not because the truth isn’t popular and I know that in advance to write without fear. I may lose readers but it is what it is. I respect you all and thank you for reading up until now.  God bless You All.

Thanks for reading everybody!

Tapping into Divine Wisdom: The Reverential Fear of God

For the past few days I’ve been feeling the need to speak on the reverential fear of the the Lord. We must understand that God is a Holy God. We are all unworthy to come before His presence because of how Holy He Truly is, but through Jesus we are able to commune with the Almighty one. No one can come to the Father except through the Son. This is how HOLY God is but I don’t believe that people have fully grasped what it means to go before a Holy God. Ask yourself what does it mean to be in the Presence of a HOLY God?

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

The Holiness of God is such that it is sooo powerful that our human container (our physical bodies) can’t handle the Holiness of God. It is so powerful that it can crush us and that is why when we speak of “Seeking His Face” we have to go from strength to strength to handle The Holiness of God as we learn to increase from Faith to Faith to see God working in our lives. It takes a measure of Faith for us to see what I would term “glimpses of God” because we cannot handle the fullness of God’s Glory.

So how do we learn to Revere a God that is so Holy?

Let me just say that the fear of God that I speak of isn’t some unhealthy fear that causes us to be bound up and paralyzed from doing or acting on something. By all means learn to take initiatives to step out and do things that you’ve never done before. That is what Faith is about! The fear of God that I speak of is in respect to the relationship between having UNDERSTANDING with WISDOM to do the RIGHT THING and LIVE the RIGHT WAY.

It says in the Word that:

Psalm 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

The Fear of God provides us with the Benefits of Wisdom and Understanding to do His Will in our lives, but how many of us Fear God enough to obey Him when He tells us to do something? We have the free will factor to choose between doing things GOD’s way or doing things OUR way which is foolishness to God.

Isaiah 55:8
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.

Our levels of wisdom are limited and that is why we must learn to Fear GOD because HE is our PROVIDER of Wisdom that leads us to do things with purpose, direction, and with a promise that assures that our obedience in Him will lead to prosperity according to the Jeremiah 29:11 promise. However, we as people can be hard headed and become ignorant and arrogant and do things that may seem right to us at the time, but later reap the repercussions of our disobedience.

There are benefits to reverencing our Lord as there are repercussions to the lack of Fear in God which I will outline here:

THE BENEFITS OF FEARING GOD:

1.) Those who Fear God will cause others to believe in God.

1 Samuel 12:14
If you fear the LORD and serve Him and obey His voice, and do not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then both you and the king who reigns over you will continue following the LORD your God.

2.) Those who Fear God will be rescued from their enemies schemes.

2 Kings 17:39
But the LORD your God you shall fear; and He will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies.”

3.) Those who Fear God will be safe and remain safe.

Proverbs 29:25
The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.

4.) The Fear of God keeps people from continuing to SIN.

Job 28:27- 28

27 Then He saw wisdom[a] and declared it;He prepared it, indeed, He searched it out.
28 And to man He said,‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom,
And to depart from evil is understanding.

5.) The Fear of God is Pure and is filled with Truth.

Psalm 19:9
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

6.) Those who Fear God will be revealed prophetic revelations and will be revealed of His promises in their lives.

Psalm 25:14
The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant.

7.) Those who Fear God are blessed when they follow by Faith and walk in His Word in OBEDIENCE.

Psalm 128:1
[ Blessings of Those Who Fear the LORD ] A Song of Ascents. Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways.

8.) Those who Fear God receive divine wisdom and knowledge when they take heed to God’s instructions by following His Word and Trusting in Him.

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

9.) The Fear of God prolongs a persons Life.

Proverbs 10:27
The fear of the LORD prolongs days, But the years of the wicked will be shortened.

Proverbs 14:27
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death.

10.) Those that Fear God walk Humbly and are Honored in their Humility and Wisdom.

Proverbs 15:33
The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility.

11.) The Fear of God provides safety and confidence because you know in whom you Believe.

Proverbs 14:26
In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge.

12.) Those that Fear God Obey His Voice and His Word.

Haggai 1:12
[ The People’s Obedience ] Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him; and the people feared the presence of the LORD.

13.) A Church that Fears God PROSPERS!

Acts 9:31
[ The Church Prospers ] Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.

When you read these benefits, it makes you wonder why the current state of the world is in chaos and confusion. It is because people have not learned to FEAR GOD and follow HIS WORD. When a nation Fears God, the people of that Nation are blessed and this goes vice versa, when a Nation does NOT Fear GOD, the People suffer.

The consequences of not Fearing God is like asking for a removal of His Jeremiah 29:11 promise of Blessing on your life. This is quite serious folks. If people don’t learn to Fear God in the sense of seriously BELIEVING HIS WORD, we liken ourselves to SAUL’s attitude which was one of REBELLION (the same level of sin as witchcraft). We all know what happened to Saul right? The Spirit of GOD LEFT SAUL and entered into DAVID who was a man of God who reverenced the LORD enough to take out a GOLIATH when no one else would.

1 Samuel 18:12
Now Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, but had departed from Saul.

Saul ended up demonized and was going insane. This is what happens when the presence of God leaves our lives. We are left vulnerable when we continue to remain in disobedience, faithless, and rebellious to God’s Word in our Lives. Therefore, Fearing God, the Giver of all blessings, all wisdom, all knowledge and power is the only way we are assured of Divine preservation and prosperity.

We must understand that those that DO NOT FEAR GOD are:

1.) Rebellious.

1 Samuel 15: 23-25

23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,
He also has rejected you from being king.

24 Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. 25 Now therefore, please pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the Lord.”

2.) Cursed.

1 Samuel 16:14
[ A Distressing Spirit Troubles Saul ] But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the LORD troubled him.

Deuteronomy 28:15 -19

15 “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

16 “Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.

17 “Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.

18 “Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.

19 “Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.

[Please read the rest of the curses in this chapter of Deuteronomy 28:20-68 for there is a huge list, but I’m sure you get the point]

3.) Faithless, Sinful and always troubled.

Proverbs 15:16
Better is a little with the fear of the LORD, Than great treasure with trouble.

4.) They that lack the Fear of God Call forth Judgment in their Lives.

Malachi 3:5
And I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness Against sorcerers, Against adulterers, Against perjurers, Against those who exploit wage earners and widows and orphans, And against those who turn away an alien— Because they do not fear Me,” Says the LORD of hosts.

5.)  They are full of PRIDE, they are Liars and are children of DISOBEDIENCE.

1 John 2:4
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Colossians 3:6
Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience

Ephesians 5:6
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

I know that this post is very different from many of my earlier posts because I feel so strongly on this subject at this time that I feel led to touch on this touchy subject. It may not be something someone wants to read, but it has to be said. Folks, many of the curses I read in Deuteronomy 28 are actually going on right now in certain countries right now if you analyze them. What’s also interesting about this chapter is that it first lists the blessings, but the curses took a whole chunk of that chapter because let me tell you that there is a heavy price to pay in the lack of Fearing God. I’m not trying to be scary here but I feel that this needs to be addressed. For each time we try to take God out of our lives, curses keep entering our lives…we open the doors for such things to happen. God doesn’t want to see people suffer, that’s why His will is for all to Have LIFE and have it more ABUNDANTLY!

John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

We can only have abundant life when we Fear the ONE who GIVES LIFE!

Today reflect on where you are in your relationship with God. Ask yourself, do  you sincerely FEAR GOD? Are there areas where your conscience is cold to the truth of what you ought to be doing? Do you value the Holiness of God? IF so, how? If Not, why?

Ask yourselves these questions and understand that the Fear of the LORD is the beginning of ALL wisdom so if people are praying for Wisdom in this life, you can’t have wisdom without the Fear of God. The Fear of God is connected to Wisdom because He is the One who provides for it. It goes hand in hand in God’s Hand. Be wise and learn to reverence the Lord your God so that He can say that I will be Your God and You will be my People.

To finish off, I have a Lovely Song that I was actually listening to the whole time I was writing up this post. It’s by Byron Cage and the song is called Royalty. Trust me when I say this Song will bless your heart. Enjoy it and may it minister to you. GOD Bless you everybody!

Scriptures to Meditate

Jeremiah 31:33
But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

Jeremiah 32:38
They shall be My people, and I will be their God;

Ezekiel 37:23
They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. Then they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

Ezekiel 37:27
My tabernacle also shall be with them; indeed I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

“Why am I not getting my Answer???!” – Hindrances to Prayers Pt. 2

(Cont’d pt. 2) In the previous post I talked about how I needed to revamp my faith level in my prayer life and in general, enhance my spiritual walk with the Lord. FAITH IS THE KEY HERE. How do we expect to get mature with our prayer life if we don’t have faith in Jesus? It says in the Word of God in (Hebrews 11:6) :

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him

Image courteousy of http://www.muscleprogram.com/Let’s all try to revamp our prayer life together by going to that Prayer Gym to exercise on our Faith – stair master machine; our Belief– treadmill machine, Trust– bench press machine. Let us not lean to our own understanding but in all our ways, acknowledge HIM (GOD -your workout trainer), and He shall direct your path (Proverbs 3:5) – for a healthy exercise routine. Let’s build our Faith Muscles!

In this post I will now explore what I find to be the reasons as to why we don’t get some of our prayers answered. It could be any of the reasons I am about to list below. I don’t expect this list to be exhaustive because there could be more reasons for hindrances in prayer and perhaps I just haven’t thought of it yet so people are welcome to comment below to add on the reasons why they think  some prayers don’t get answered. This is a learning process for me so I’m welcome to other people’s opinions and thoughts on the subject matter. Keep in mind that I’m not a pro on this topic so that’s why everything I will list is based on my perspective of the things based on experiences and things I have read. There are certain things we do in our prayers that hinder us from receiving answers when we pray to God. Let’s explore these reasons.

HINDERANCES TO PRAYER

1. Do you know how to pray? (Matthew 6:5-15)- I find that this is the number one fundamental reason as to why some prayers don’t get answered. I believe that prayer is a conversation between You and God; however, when you are a new believer and you have absolutely NO idea how to pray, I find that in the Body of Christ we have a tendency to assume that these people should know how to pray on the get go which is a grave error in our judgement that still persists to this day. I would recommend to a new believer that they can start off with Jesus’ example of the Lords prayer found in (Mathew 6:5-15).

The Structure of the Lords Prayer:

i.)  Acknowledge the Father who is in Heaven.

ii.) Be Humble before the Lord and admit Honestly your weaknesses and failures. Acknowledge your weaknesses and failures before the Lord and seek God’s forgiveness in sincerity.

iii.) Seek the Lords help if you harbor any bitterness, resentment or hatred towards anyone who has wronged you in your life with the Help of the Holy Spirit. This is very important.

iv.) Understand that you can be tempted to do things that go against Biblical principles because of your weaknesses and seek God for strength help you to do right in the eyes of the Lord. Each day is a daily struggle between Flesh and Spirit so you need God’s help to increase your level of Faith in order to walk humbly under His Grace and Mercy.

v.) Praise Him, Worship Him and Thank HIM for listening to your prayers. Acknowledge that you cannot do anything without the Lords help so remember to do all these things as you end your prayer. This helps you to cultivate a character of humility because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5).

Those that are more seasoned should be able to connect to those that need some direction in this area because some people don’t even know how to ask for the right things in their prayers simply because they have no idea how. You have not because you ask not.(James 4:2).I was like that once and through the help of my mother, being in a youth group (cell group) at church, and going to the christian book shop that had material on prayer books and intercession etc, I was able to equip myself to pray more effectively and saw many of the things in my life change.

Going to church and fellow-shipping is a requirement if you want to grow in strength in your spiritual journey. You cannot mature on your own without the help of other people. You are not an island to yourself so don’t kid yourself into thinking you don’t need anyone when you need guidance to build your character and spirit. With a body of believers they can intercede for you when you are going through a crisis…how can you do that if you isolate yourself from the body?

I must emphasize that you can learn to pray even better when you are with a group of other Christians, in particular a small group setting such as a cell group. When you hear the way others pray, you will learn how to pray effectively at an individual level and you will be able to cultivate your own conversation with God as you listen to others. I think that this is the best way to learn how to pray on an individual level and at a small group level. You start off small and in an intimate group setting and that helps you when you move into the larger body within a larger group in a congregational setting. When individuals master prayer as a congregation, they will be able to pray more effectively at a corporate level of prayer and take down footholds and strongholds in your families, in your workplaces, in your cities, in your countries and then head into the global arena at an international level.

2. Motivation (James 4:3) – Are you asking amiss or are you hitting the target?

Some people need to understand this basic principle because it’s one of the most important and fundamental principles that people fail to understand. When you Pray, you must pray seeking that which you need and not seeking things out of selfish motivation. An example of this could be a man praying to God that he wants a particular woman that he desires to make as his wife and he sees a woman that he has “fallen in love with” but finds out later that she is married. He cannot then go ahead and seek the Lord to get her divorced from her husband just because he wants to make that woman his wife. That is UNGODLY and Evil! Such prayers will NOT be answered and anyone practicing this type of meditation for a long time will venture into the arena of demonic prayers which is a form of WITCHCRAFT. God won’t answer a prayer that contradicts His precepts. You must check your motivations when you pray. Prayers have a purpose, it can be for intercession, requests on NEEDS Not WANTS for yourself or others, it can even be a time for receiving a download of revelations in scriptures when meditating on the Word as you seek clarity for things that you don’t understand. Prayer is your relationship hotline between You and God.

Do not abuse this privilege by requesting things based on desires derived by selfish motivations and rebellious requests that contradict the Word of God. Those prayers will go unanswered.

I must provide a word of caution in that although such crazy requests will not be answered by God…demonic forces will gravitate to such impure meditations and attach themselves to people who move by these unrestrained carnal desires and guide them to places that can give them these “so-called answers” that God refused to grant. That’s why I call them witchcraft prayers.

James 4:1-5

Pride Promotes Strife

1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet[a] you do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 Adulterers and[b] adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?
6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

“ God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”[c]

If you are guilty of this, repent right NOW and turn away from such behaviours so that you don’t latch yourself to some curses on your life that will bring you no rest and trouble will follow you and your household if you continue this activity. That is why people must learn to exercise prudence, sound judgement and self-control when pursuing things out of selfish desires. Some people don’t realize they do this but let me tell you…I have seen such crazy things happen to some people that I can honestly say I know what I’m talking about. On the subject of understanding the difference between the Needs versus Wants, I recommend checking out my earlier post called Desire: Differentiating between Needs vs Wants .

Let me clarify something here, it’s not bad to request things on an individual basis like wanting a spouse, car, job, house, healing etc. What I am trying to say here is that you must assess the purpose, intention and motivation of your request first before putting it forward to God. I encourage you to consider that He will answer your prayer on the basis of His Will for your Life and not your own. Some people have difficulty with accepting this and that is why they end up offended with the Lord for not answering their vain prayers.

I always say to the Lord when I pray for something I want…because I don’t always know what I need I say to God “By your will and Not my own” because I believe God wants the best for me and sometimes we request things that aren’t right for us at the time and we fail to see that but He can judge the request and He will answer those things that are what we need.

Jesus practiced this example in the Garden of Gethsemane before He was arrested and crucified as He prayed in Luke 22:41-43 (NKJV):

41 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” 43 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. [Emphasis added].

Seriously assess your requests and repent of any selfish prayers that you have put before the Lord. Believe that the Lord wants the Best for You so seek His Will for your life above your own.

Isaiah 55:8

“ For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
