Another message for the Singles – Destiny Destroyers

Hello People!

Joseph and Potifar's wifeOk, I had no intention of bringing this up ever, but today I had lunch with a friend of mine and her story is what has inspired this post.

You know as a single person, you will encounter many battles and temptations to undermine and compromise your integrity. Joseph had that situation happen when Potifar’s wife wanted to sleep with him, but he did the right thing and preserved himself from the open invitation to stray from the path of simply doing the right thing.

And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.”

1eded7c4682539b61c0c0b554b8a97a3So my friend today tells me that there’s this guy in her past that has been contacting her as of late and they know each other since high school days. They’re good friends, however, the man is married. He went through an arranged marriage and has had 3 kids with his wife. So the thing is this, he supposedly confessed to my friend recently that he has always been “in love” with her and she didn’t really have romantic feelings for him, but would have entertained the idea of marriage had he expressed interest earlier on before the whole arranged marriage fiasco happened. He claims that the reason why he didn’t confess to her earlier was because she didn’t throw any hints of entertaining the idea, but she didn’t know that the man was interested in her that way. This is a moment where I say to men reading this post, if you’re interested in a lady, don’t assume for one second that they can read your mind…go up there and have courage to confess to her, so that you don’t have this crae-crae-ness affect your life later like this guy in my friends story.  You won’t know if you have a chance if you don’t try. Why live in regret thinking I coulda shoulda woulda, but inevitably like this guy, didn’t?????

Anywho, let me continue on with the story, so mind you they were young when they were friends and she was battling self-esteem issues like we all do when we’re in our teens and in our twenties. Anyways, long story short…he’s been constantly wanting to meet up with her without his wife knowing, and she being a woman with strong moral standards, doesn’t want to be a quote-in-quote “Homewrecker”. He even wrote two poems to her today which she shared with me to read to see what they meant because she isn’t really strong in understanding the symbolism in poems, literature and meanings etc etc. Thank God for English class because when I read these two poems, I could tell you where this man’s head was at. There were warning signs everywhere with what he wrote. I won’t paste the poems here for the sake of anonymity, but what I will say is that his subtle messages to the undiscerning individual will seem like lovely emotional imagery type poems, but in the poems were laced with venom that entertained leaving his wife, a threat of committing suicide and feeling trapped in dark emotions aimed at making my friend feel guilt. 😦 The man is obsessing over the fact that he could have married her had he had the guts back then to confess. Men…life is short, if you like a gal, confess now….if it doesn’t work out it doesn’t work out…but don’t be like this guy okay? Ladies, don’t entertain ungodly behaviours that can cause your brother to stumble. Don’t give into the temptation whatsoever because this type of thing right here is a DESTINY DESTROYER. Not just your destiny will be affected, but his as well, if you entertain the thought of adultery. Think David and Uriah’s wife, Bethsheba in the Bible (2 Samuel 11 ). David committed adultery, and his life there after was not peaceful from then on… there is a heavy price to pay for such a sin and life changing mistake.

Hearing her story freaked me out because I was reminded of a time I liked a similar person. This person that I liked was “in the church” and I secretly liked this person for 7 years (Yeah, I know…why did I do that to myself?). The person appeared to (from my perspective) or seemed to like me back and sent out strong signals that he was attracted to me, but he never took action. Me being young and naive thought…that was just him being shy…but when I got the courage to confess (because I couldn’t stand waiting anymore), I was stopped by a few friends of his that were in the church as well who kind of indicated to me not to say anything. Long story short, I found out soon after that he was married and he had no intention of revealing that in the first place to me whatsoever until he had peer pressure from his friends forcing him to be accountable and come out with the truth. I thank God everyday for his God-fearing friends.

The moment he told me the truth I was devastated and immediately, all the feelings I had for him were completely gone. I was distraught beyond belief and felt like I had just wasted 7 years to end up with nothing, NOTHING 😦 . I was angry and completely emotional about the whole thing. The strange thing was, after confessing the truth that he was married, he all of a sudden started to show strong affections towards me that he never displayed before once he found out that I “liked” him, and started to pursue me in the church. Just like my friend’s situation, he was regretting not acting on his feelings or so it appeared. At this point, I didn’t have time for that so You know what I did? I RAN AWAY. That’s right I RAN AWAY and didn’t look back. He started to stalk me and that totally freaked me out, but thank God, his friends and family kept him at bay. I had to pray and fast to God to have this person removed from my life, and one day he simply just left the church. I sincerely pray and thank God for that because he seemed like he was not going to back down until he had what he wanted. It was like dealing with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The man had two personalities going on there that shocked me. I shudder when I recall the whole thing.temptation

I must say this, even if you pray for the person to be removed from your life, you might have to take drastic measures and simply remove yourself from the situation just to preserve your integrity. I’m not joking about this. You have to do whatever it takes in order to preserve yourself. Yes, it will hurt like hell, but trust me, you will see down the road that you did the right thing. I admit that initially when he started to show strong affections towards me, I did entertain the idea that maybe he married the wrong person” etc etc, yes, those thoughts did come across my mind,but who was I kidding but myself. I have no time to be in self-denial. He showed a dark obsessive side that I failed to see before and when God simply opened my spiritual eyes to see into the person, I saw something that freaked me out and I will never forget it for the rest of my life that it made me realize the devil will use anyone and anything to kill your destiny.

God loves us so much that He will show us the truth to preserve our lives, but we have to be willingly open to what God shows us in order to embrace the reality of the situation no matter how disappointed you may feel. I knew that God loved me enough to show me the truth of this person’s heart that he saved me from a life-time and possibly life-changing mistake. Think SAMSON….he entertained danger and made a life-changing, lifetime mistake when he allowed a DELILAH in his life.Overcoming_Temptation_Product_Image_1024x1024

Men, I urge you, do not allow crae-crae (crazy) women into your life. They can mess you up big time and give you a lifetime of pain. Ladies, don’t allow a man who promises and tells you sweet “nothings” to cause you to compromise your beliefs and where you stand in God. He is not worth it.

Albeit, I was devastated, I imploded on the inside and the funny thing was, God had shown me in some dreams that I had recorded that he was not what he appeared to be despite being in the “church”, but I was ignoring the interpretation because I wanted to “see the best in him”. Listen, love isn’t blind to the truth, we choose to be blinded by our emotions. We deceive our own hearts into accepting lies rather than seeing the truth for what it is. That whole experience inspired my “So You Lied to Me – Trust is Earned My Friend” post which is one of my very first posts for this blog that has always received huge hits because I’m sure many people have gone through this craziness.

DO NOT and I mean DO NOT COURT WITH DANGER.

I cannot emphasize this enough. As a single person in my thirties, I have come to know based on experience, that life is already short, why make it shorter by entertaining nonsense in our lives. The Devil’s agenda doesn’t change…he want’s to kill, steal and destroy you and the blessings God has for you in your life.

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Yes, you will be tempted, you will be deceived, you will be tricked, you will be put into situations that will test your integrity, but hold fast to the WORD OF GOD. That is the only thing that can save you. I know what it’s like to be heartbroken. I was heartbroken about the situation to the point I was grieved because I couldn’t believe that a person I liked, and supposedly a “Christian” person at that would not care about entertaining the idea of an “affair”. I’m not that girl, I’m not that woman that wants leftovers. I was so distraught that such a person didn’t realize how much I take my relationship with God seriously. It took me two years to get over it…I mean I loved the guy for 7 and I was in a state where I was repenting everyday and seeking God’s face to show me where I went wrong, how could I be deceived etc etc, and during that time I separated myself from a lot of people and contemplated suicide. I was withdrawn and needed to find myself again.

God is amazing in that He healed many parts of my broken heart that started me blogging in the first place. It took 2 years…but honestly, I’m glad I went through that experience. I was bitter and didn’t trust anybody, but honestly, God was showing me not to close myself off just because of this. I want to remain in right-standing and had to be like a modern-day Joseph and preserve mine integrity. I won’t lie, it does feel lonely at times doing the right thing when everybody else is just jumping to what’s good, but this is all about fighting for your DESTINY.  Hence, this is why I’m sharing this story now. Honestly, I would much prefer taking this story to my grave, but I feel led to share it here so that I pray that this story helps someone to see that there are things out there that are geared to destroy your destiny. Only you have the power to protect it with the decisions that you make. I’m not saying that it’ll be easy, in fact, it will be excruciatingly hard, but you can do it. God wants you to have an abundant life, don’t allow room to sin in areas that you know you cannot undo. Don’t entertain illicit affairs or relationships that are ungodly and unequal yokes. Don’t marry into a lifetime of unhappiness and pain. Wait on the Lord, and He will bless you in the fullness of time. I trust God with my future, so I implore you to put your future in God’s hands. Don’t allow the enemy to trap you and halt your destiny by entertaining danger. You know that saying that goes, “If you play with fire, you will get burned”. I know what it feels like to play with fire…but thank God I ran away from it so that I wouldn’t end up burned. Don’t play with fire is my message.

The Devil will attack you with feelings of “loneliness” to move you to do crazy things. It is so important to anchor yourself with the right people that share the same biblical-standards that you do, or are stronger than you in many areas that you are weak in. Isolation is not good for you because we are all created to be relational beings to begin with, so fellowship with strong Christians. Find mentorship with people that can guide you in the right direction. If you’re in my thirties like myself and thinking “Yo, my biological clock is tickin’ and nothing’s going on. I’m going to take matters into my own hands and do this thing my way”, let me stop you right there and tell you, if you ain’t praying to God about your spouse right now, I guarantee that you’ll attract trouble and trouble will find you. I may not be married right now and many of you might think I’m not qualified to say the things I’m saying, but it doesn’t matter. God’s Word stands firm forever. If you want to do things your way without consulting God on the matter, then be my guest, because I already have friends that compromised and fell into temptation and their lives are in chaos with what the devil brought in their direction. Understand this one thing, the Devil maximizes on the emotion we call “Loneliness” to trap you and get you to compromise. Don’t allow that feeling to trump reason, don’t allow that feeling to override what it means to do the “right thing”. Go to God when you feel empty, because it is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that He fills you. No person in this lifetime can fill or satisfy the void that is in your life and in your heart.

This message is for the single for both men and women, young or old.  There are things out there in life that are laid there as a trap to cause you to falter on your journey. These are what I call DESTINY DESTROYERS. Please, please, please, go to God if your are dealing with something like this. Find someone who will pray with you and assist you to stay on the right path. Avoid a life time of pain, Amen! This was indeed a difficult post for me to write because of my personal story, but I feel that someone needs to hear this and change their course to get back on track. I hope it helps somebody.

Here is a song from Hillsongs United called I Surrender. Surrender your life to God right now. If you’ve made some of these mistakes, go back to God and seek His face to help you get back on track. God Loves you and will help you get up again no matter how many times you’ve fallen. He cares about you and will do all that it takes to Protect your Destiny, Amen. I pray that this Song blesses your spirit today. God bless you everybody 😀

EX-Porn Star Danielle’s Story: How I Got out of the Porn Industry

Hi Everybody!

Again, I’m putting another disclaimer for this post. It’s quite heavy and yet mind-blowing. It is definitely for an 18+ audience with graphic details so please watch at your discretion. It is mature subject matter and yet I feel for those that struggle with watching Porn, this video testimony might enlighten you, for those that know of anyone thinking of going into this industry or are in it, know that you can get out of it and that you don’t have to stay there, whether you’re a guy or girl.

Danielle William’s Story

When I first watched Danielle’s story, I was heart-broken and yet sobered up by the realities of other peoples struggles. Her testimony sheds light on how women see themselves, what addictions are and how such places as the Porn industry work to ruin lives of those who watch it and also those engaged in the industry. The Devil is real people. What I found interesting in her testimony is how many people who participated in watching porn were also the very same who would pay to have porn-stars like Danielle and or prostitutes as their personal escort were also “Christian” men in the Church. Now, I know we have a lot of people in the world who struggle with Porn, but we can’t act like it’s not in our back yard. What I also love about her testimony is that she explains how she still felt she was a Christian even though she wasn’t living up to the standards of her beliefs. God revealed to her the truth of what she was living through and how “Money” played a big role in her continuing to be a Porn Star. Money became her God and this led her to be trapped for a time in this dangerous and risky business. She explains the role that STD’s and AIDS plays out in the industry and she also explains how much women make versus what men make in the industry.

Watch her video

After watching it, I thought to myself that Pornography is definitely the devil’s play ground. Although I was exposed to it at the age of 5, I felt that the pictures were rather degrading and evil. Women are not creatures with insatiable desires as these pictures depict and it is no wonder why some young ladies dress up scantily clad trying to imitate these pictures just to get a guy to “notice” them. Their self image in these pictures and videos sell an idea that assumes you have to do these things to get noticed, to get appreciated to get validated as an attractive woman and to get “loved”. These are definitely lies from the pits of hell being fed into especially young minds of young girls and boys that need to be dismantled. Ladies, I’m here to tell you that God didn’t design you to be this way.God created every person to be fearfully and wonderfully made.

Psalm 139:14
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.

Virtue should be your mantle and not these scandalous and dangerous activities. It is easy to land in these places and you’ve got to wonder, is it such a mystery as to why some men and women struggle with bulimia, anorexia nervosa, self-injury, suicidal thoughts, drugs, alcohol etc  to numb the pain when they are bombarded with magazines,  television, advertisements in different forms of social media that depict images of what an ideal man or woman should be by the world’s standards? No, it is not a mystery and yet things like Pornography which is a mutli-billion making industry fuel these ideas by those fueled by greed, money and lust at the expense of our generations losing their self-worth and identity. We are losing generations folks, to perversion and violence and the more we hide it under the rug, the more we allow for this culture of genocide to continue. That’s right, you read correctly when I said a “Culture of genocide”. I know using the term genocide sounds strong, but generations are dying because of how we have allowed for such things to control our society, our families and our children.

We feed addictions at the cost of people’s lives and I find this all to be rather really sad and it grieves my spirit to know that young people can’t talk about this stuff freely because of ridicule and condemnation, especially those that are in the church. It is yet another hush hush topic and some are afraid of being judged in a Christian circle because of the high standard expected of young people. The ‘I’m a Christian and yet I struggle with watching porn” isn’t something someone wants to testify let alone admit to because of the thought of, “What’s wrong with me?…I know that it’s wrong but I can’t seem to stop”.

People, it’s a serious stronghold that needs to be broken with much deliverance and healing and EDUCATION.

Christian or no Christian, Porn has it’s own demons and it doesn’t discriminate on who its victims are…you can be a Christian and watch it and you can be a Non-believer and watch it, but the effects of Porn remains the same. It breaks people’s spirits, it breaks relationships and peoples marriages. Let me just say that men aren’t the only participants who watch it, young girls do too from the ones I’ve talked too, but they are ashamed to reveal that because of the social stigma that places women at a higher standard than men to be participating in these activities. I’m here to tell you that women watch Pornography just as much as men do, but many books always focus on men’s issues regarding it because we know it’s an obvious area that targets men, but trust me when I say that there are a lot of closet women who do watch it too and it is no wonder why there is a rise in pre-marital sex, there is a rise of single-mothers all because Sex has been perverted by this industry (as a factor but not the only reason) that thrives to drive people away from what God intended sex to be for which is for the sacred institution of Marriage with One Man and One Woman – just to make that clear.

My abuser obviously had a problem with Porn and she was a woman…a “Christian” one at that… so don’t assume that I’m only talking to men who watch it because women do too and for different reasons. For men it maybe more for physical release whereas for women it maybe more for emotional release.  I won’t profess to be an expert on this topic, but I’m just laying out my opinions. I’d be very interested to hear other people’s feed back on this so please by all means comment below and let’s have a discussion.

For the men that watch it, I’m not here to condemn you at all about those that watch it, but understand how you viewing it continues the violence that these young women experience. There has been research to support that most sexual offenders imitate what they have seen in Porn videos and afflict the same activities on their victims. Sex Trafficking is a major issue in foreign countries and it is also happening in our back yards which is also another arm to fuel the Porn industry. Men…you have to break the cycle if you want to be serious. You must believe that you can overcome the temptation of it all by admitting that you may have a problem and you need some accountability for it. Seek support groups and do what you have to do in order to be set free from the addiction of watching Porn. God want’s you to know that we all have the ability to have self-control and you need to embrace that truth.

2 Timothy 1:7
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and selfcontrol.

Titus 2:12
It has trained us to reject and renounce all ungodliness (irreligion) and worldly (passionate) desires, to live discreet (temperate, selfcontrolled), upright, devout (spiritually whole) lives in this present world,

2 Peter 1:6
And in [exercising] knowledge [develop] selfcontrol, and in [exercising] selfcontrol [develop] steadfastness (patience, endurance), and in [exercising] steadfastness [develop] godliness (piety),

Suffer no delusions and wake up people! You are a victim if you watch it and/or participate in it, but God wants to break these addictions and the only way to be free from them is by confessing it for what it is (Repentance) and then seeking some Godly counsel or some effective support groups to help deal with these issues before they spiral out of control.

Porn effects both men and women, young or old in respect to their self-image.

Remember Danielle’s testimony and realize that this industry affects how we view ourselves for those  of us who are in the Body of Christ. I encourage everybody to do some serious soul searching and some real-talk about this issue with some support system and accountability partners so that we break the cycle of self-abuse and continual abuse-by-proxy by continuing to watch Porn that affect the people who participate in the industry. Spread the word and feel free to share this post if you think it will help somebody.

Danielle is an amazing conqueror and overcomer as an EX-Porn star that has battled her demons in this evil industry and she is a living testimony that you can be set free from the stronghold of the Porn industry and from Pornography.

The glamor of it all is false and it’s amazing how young ladies are suckered into this place driven by lust and money. Guard your children parents! Vigilance is key here especially in their formative years. Consider that Men, if you don’t show the proper respect you have for your wives and daughters…your children will look elsewhere for some validation. God forbid if they land in this industry that may cater to their emotional needs not being met or other perverse avenues. Mothers, your sons need to be taught how to respect women by you being an example that is attractive to follow. A women of virtue is definitely a Proverbs 31 woman. They need to respect you at home and Fathers need to train men in the way they should go so that they don’t depart from your wisdom.

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Ephesians 6:4
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Do not judge your children harshly if you find out that they do in fact struggle with Porn or drugs or whatever addiction. The last thing a child wants to hear after they confess their issues is utter condemnation from their parents…this continues to facilitate their silence. Be open and discuss openly rather than fueling their silence to their struggles with your criticism. Ask yourself how would Jesus address the issue, with Love? or Condemnation? You play such a vital role in a Child’s life and freedom comes in an environment where love surrounds them and cultivates a safety net where they are free to express themselves without fear of condemnation. You can shut a child down by condemning words rather than with compassion.

Well that’s all I have to say  on this topic so I hope this post blesses somebody today and may Truth break the silence.

A Situation of Faith – Staying Saved

Hello everybody!

Today my meditation is a continuation of my last post regarding Job and how much we claim to “really love the Lord”. Now in this post I’m going to probably ruffle a few feathers as I speak some truth out here in this post. The truth isn’t intended to harm but to reveal that which remains hidden. We have to yield to the power that wisdom gives in keeping us from remaining vulnerable in ignorance when wisdom sheds light into a situation that produces the truth. We have to address difficult topics at times in order to remain humble and real with ourselves. So I am just stating that as a warning for the ones who may be offended with what I’m about to say when I’m speaking on the topic of Salvation.

Salvation – What is Salvation?

sal·va·tion  (sl-vshn)

n.

1. a. Preservation or deliverance from destruction, difficulty, or evil.
    b. A source, means, or cause of such preservation or deliverance.
2. Christianity

     a. Deliverance from the power or penalty of sin; redemption through JESUS CHRIST.
     b. The agent or means that brings about such deliverance.

Now let me just say that as followers of Christ as “Christians”, it is assumed that we follow in the footsteps of the One in Whom we Believe which is our Savior and LORD Jesus Christ. I also stated in my previous post How Much Do We Love God? – The Fear of the Lord that Satan has no reason to attack the already UNBELIEVING Christians since unbelief is enough to separate us from our God.

Yes, it is possible to be a Christian and yet be unbelieving. *shock* *gasp* –“Say it ain’t so Sherline!!!!!!” I’m sorry but it’s TRUE.

Some people start off believing after they get saved…but sometimes the adversities of life can shake a person’s faith and cause one to stumble. Some stumble for a short time in their wavering faith and some stumble greatly and permanently and at times don’t recover from the fall at all. Although we can stumble in our journey, I want you to know that we can stand back up again and return on the journey that is set before us, but some people when they get hit and smacked down, they stay down and some just completely divert from the path and turn away completely. This is an issue of backsliding and also an issue of wavering faith that leads to unbelief – The major killer of destiny. This also ties back to my other post regarding what type of SEED are you and what SOIL are you in?????

The path of a Christian isn’t a simple “walk in the park” friends, I’m sorry to say. In fact, I didn’t expect such trials in my life to enter after I found Jesus Christ at the age of 15 because I had already been through some heavy things prior to salvation that I did not expect an even heavier battle that lay ahead of me. I have found that in my own journey I have had a “Peter’s Denial of Jesus” experience and in many ways, I was shocked beyond belief that I was capable of doing so, but that’s because the things I was facing were soo mind-breaking and heart-breaking for me that I was almost losing my mind. At such points as Christians, we have to understand that the battles we face will cause us to answer this one but very important question that needs to always be  in our heart as we walk in the Spirit:

How far are you willing to go and stay with GOD and Stand with GOD? – seriously consider this question people. This isn’t the type of question that elicits a “spiritual answer“. Speak truthfully and really search deep before you answer…because your answer will be TESTED. Never forget that.

Adversities are there to shape our character even though they can be quite rough and soul-breaking. Our Spirit is strengthened when we go through the tests. Peter went through it when he denied his association with Jesus during the time of Jesus’ arrest before that day at Calvary.

Peter exemplifies that it is POSSIBLE to be a follower of Christ and yet Deny Him when Troubles come to Test our FAITHFULNESS. Peter believed in Jesus, but when he denied him three times in a crowd of witnesses, that was the Test of his Character that revealed an area of weakness in his level of Faith to remain COMMITTED even when faced with the threat of PERSECUTION.  I know that I’ve had my Peter moment and have discovered that wow…Faith in Jesus simply isn’t just following the Lord, it’s a question of standing and staying with HIM in the end. How far are we willing to GO?

There is HOPE folks.

Peter was redeemed and so can we. If you have ever encountered a “Peter moment” in your life, know that you can still be redeemed. The whole idea is to STAY SAVED. We may stumble along the way in our walk but GOD is saying, “I can redeem you no matter how many times you may stumble through my Son JESUS CHRIST”.

Peter was restored in John 21:15-19 Lets Read:

Jesus Restores Peter

15 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah,[b] do you

love Me more than these?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”

He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”

16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah,[c] do you love Me?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”

He said to him, “Tend My sheep.”

17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah,[d] do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”

And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.”

Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. 18 Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” 19 This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.”

Here we see that Jesus is speaking to Peter addressing his personal commitment to remain with the Lord. Jesus didn’t just ask Peter once whether or not Peter loved Him. He asked him at least 3 times because it’s easy to claim that we “Love the Lord” so rashly, but do we really? Are we really committed to Him? I also think that the reason why Jesus asks Peter several times concerning whether or not he loves Jesus is so that Peter really hears what he is saying in his claim. He has to be sure of his love for the Lord since he was so rash earlier in his claim that he would never deny Jesus prior to His arrest  and yet he did deny Him 3 times  in the end in (Matthew 26:35) and (Mark 14:31).

Peter’s words were TESTED and so shall our words be if we make such claims in our “Love for the Lord”. Peter did fail in that test but even though he failed, Jesus still had the compassion to redeem him after he resurrected from the grave, hence these questions of Peter’s Love were to address his level of Faith and commitment to the Lord after the fact.

Notice that:

1. Peter denied Jesus 3 times (Matthew 26:34, Matthew 26:75; Mark 14:30; Mark 14:72; Luke 22:34;Luke 22:61)

2. Jesus asked Peter whether or not he loved Him 3 times;

3. Peter affirmed his love for the Lord Jesus 3 times;

4. Jesus restores Peter by giving him 3 Instructions to tend to the flock and redeems him by grace in order for Peter to answer to the call in his life to build the church in  (Matthew 16:18).

What can you learn from this?

For every time we fail, God takes each failure into account and leaves no room for Satan to accuse us on the same failure as he addresses each failure one by one in order to restore us in right standing.

The Last instruction Jesus gives – “FOLLOW ME” completes Peter’s redemption to walk again as a BELIEVER of Christ and as a son of God, as he later operates in the freedom that Salvation in Christ brings with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah! Can you imagine what would have happened if Peter was not restored by the forgiving grace of Jesus?????? I praise God that Peter was restored because he is one disciple-turned -to- Apostle that knew how to equip the Church for Spiritual Warfare when persecution became the threat to the rise of Gods Kingdom being established on earth by the rise of  the Church of God; the rise of the Christ-believers;  the rise of the Christians.

Friends, I believe that God is always going to Test us in our level of Faith and Commitment to Him in our walk. We will encounter what I call the “PETER TEST of Faith” in our walk at some point in our journey because the Devil is always seeking to sift us as wheat (Luke 22:31). The great thing about the Peter Test is that we also discover our weaknesses early enough in our walk in order to work on strengthening our Faith so that we can be restored in right standing with our Lord. The key term is RIGHT STANDING. We have to stand up again no matter how many times we fail. The devil would rather you stay down or not return on the path of Salvation but Jesus wants us to live a life of abundance so don’t beat yourself up and cause yourself to remain grounded when GOD is commanding you to GET UP AGAIN!

Peter was called the ROCK that would build the Church (Matthew 16:18). When Jesus came to restore Peter, He gave him instructions:

1. “Feed my Lambs” (John 21:15)- basically work with the young believers in Christ (the born again Christians) that need the WORD of GOD and teach them the basics  in order to lead them in their journey to spiritual maturity as they GROW in FAITH in the WORD of GOD.

2.”Tend my Sheep” (John 21:16)- Work with the mature Christians believers and guide them in their journeys to follow the WORD of GOD as they also will encounter similar experiences as you once did and tribulations that will test their level and measure of faith in the WORD of GOD.

3. Feed my Sheep” (John 21:17) – the Mature Christians still need to work with BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES so preach the WORD of GOD to them so that they can continue in their Spiritual Growth and gain more knowledge, understanding and wisdom as they go from strength to strength and glory to glory knowing who they are in Christ.

4. “Follow me” (John 21:19) – Never forget in Whom you believe and remember that the Lord Jesus Christ is always with you in your Journey as you continue to walk with Him through tests and trials and tribulations.

I believe that these instructions that Jesus gave to Peter strengthened his spirit as he acknowledged that Jesus didn’t condemn him in his weakness, He merely pointed out the areas of  Peter’s weakness that he needed to deal with so that he could work on it as he continues to grow in his journey as a FOLLOWER of CHRIST.

My message today is that God is saying,  “I want to REDEEM you ALL who have fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

You can be redeemed if you fix your eyes on Jesus and learn to stand up again from your trials and times of testing. Recognize your weaknesses, accept the forgiveness of our Lord Jesus and learn to understand that Jesus knows your weaknesses before you make them, but He doesn’t want you to be destroyed by self-condemnation as is the devil’s plan is in our lives. He wants to restore you back on the road and FOLLOW HIM just like he commanded Peter. Peter equipped the CHURCH as he rose to answer the Call in His life after Jesus restored Him through forgiveness, so God wants us to equip ourselves and be restored in RIGHT STANDING with HIM by accepting His Forgiveness to you TODAY.

Don’t let the devil take you away from the LOVE of the LORD. Remember that the devil is an ACCUSER of the Brethren (Revelation 12:10)…but God is our kinsman REDEEMER!  BE REDEEMED TODAY and let all of the REDEEMED SAY SO!

To end this meditation, I have this amazing song from Canton Jones and it’s a song called Stay Saved. It’s a great song with a theatrical characterization of how we walk each day when people try to offend us and get us stirred to do the wrong thing in our daily lives. I found the video rather entertaining. Enjoy everybody and Stay blessed because GOD LOVES YOU!

A Prayer of Repentance – Forgive Me Father for I have Weaknesses!

Nathan the Prophet confronts King David

Psalm 51

For the director of music. A psalm of David. When the prophet Nathan came to him after David had committed adultery with Bathsheba.

1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
   and done what is evil in your sight;
so you are right in your verdict
   and justified when you judge.
5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;
  you taught me wisdom in that secret place.

7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
   wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins
and blot out all my iniquity.

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
   and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
   or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
   and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
   so that sinners will turn back to you.
14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
you who are God my Savior,
and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
15 Open my lips, Lord,
and my mouth will declare your praise.
16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;
you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
17 My sacrifice, O God, is[b] a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart
you, God, will not despise.

18 May it please you to prosper Zion,
to build up the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then you will delight in the sacrifices of the righteous,
in burnt offerings offered whole;
then bulls will be offered on your altar.

I felt the need to point out Psalm 51 as a model for a prayer of Repentance.

King David had sent Bathsheba’s husband Uriah to the front lines to be killed while he stayed in Jerusalem so that he could take his wife (2 Samuel 11:1). Uriah died in the battle and David had committed adultery with Bathsheba. This was a serious offence against the Lord in that he had committed a heinous crime and had envied Uriah for his wife and acted on his envy by committing adultery with her (2 Samuel 11:27). The Lord sent Nathan the Prophet to rebuke and warned David of what he had done to anger the Lord to pronounce His righteous Judgment against him. David’s response to his grievous sin was a sincere and sorrowful, contrite and a broken-hearted spirit seeking forgiveness from the Lord for his grievous actions (2 Samuel 12). David was anointed and chosen by God to be King over Israel and yet he too had weaknesses in areas that sought to satisfy his flesh. He too was tempted and had succumbed to his temptations to such an extent as to plot someones death just to get what he wanted. David is no angel here but when he confessed to God, he did so with a sincere and contrite heart that moved God to forgive him as a response to David’s repentance of his actions. King or Pauper, no one is immune from temptation. It says in the word that:

Romans 3:22-24 (NKJV)

22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all[a] who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus

We can only be redeemed through Christ our Saviour, so we must confess our sins before Jesus who died for us so that we can be restored to the Love of the Father.

John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

God is a Father who forgives us even for the most grievous of offenses as hard as that seems to believe.

David’s act of Repentance allowed for him to be Forgiven because he still remained a Man after God’s Own Heart.

How God sees us as children

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Today, I have a song that I pray ministers to those that need to Seek God’s face in any areas that they struggle with. I admit that I too am no angel myself and this song ministers to me all the time. Confess to God your Weaknesses so that you may be healed and restored back into His Divine Loving Presence. The song I have today is from Donnie McClurkin and it’s called Create In Me a Clean Heart. It definitely epitomizes Psalm 51. Stay Blessed today Everybody!
