Building on Integrity in a World with Moral Decay

Hello Everybody! 😀

I pray that your Weekend is going pretty well.

We had a brother in the church that lost a newborn baby and just came back from Africa from burying the baby. 😦 We as a church pulled together to minister to his spirit by loving on this individual because it’s so important to have support when you’re going through that time of grief. I know I needed it when I was going through the grief of losing my grandmother who was someone very important to me. I pray that he and his wife will pull through this together and that God will restore joy back to them and bless them with many more children in the future. I found out later on after service by my Pastor, that the brother was so moved by the love displayed by the members of the church that he made a decision today that he wants to serve. To me, that is worth a praise and a shout to God. It’s amazing what the love of God can do for someone. If it causes a person to move into destiny, then I’m all about that. No manipulation involved, just pure and genuine unconditional love is enough to move a person and shift their destiny, Amen! 😀

That’s what it means to be the Church people of God. We build each other up by supporting each other, growing with each other, edifying each other and training each other to keep moving forward to the upward call of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

So today I want to continue on this whole thing about INTEGRITY. For those of you following along, please refer back to my previous posts, the Transition to Elevation post and the It’s PA time with God, How did you measure up? post.

integrityIt is so important to assess the condition of your heart when seeking elevation, promotion and going up somewhere that you’ve never been to before. God always looks at our hearts to determine if we are ready for the next level. If you’re not prepared, God won’t bring you to something or someone that you aren’t prepared for. People want to experience high levels and high heights, but are spiritually, intellectually and/or emotionally immature to handle the responsibility of the next level. I can tell you right now that if you harbor any jealousy, bitterness, pride and arrogance towards your fellow brother or sister, be it family, friends, co-workers or peers who are getting blessed, then you’re heading down a dangerous path of destruction.

What is INTEGRITY?

The dictionary defines it as:

  1. adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.
  2. the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished.
  3. a sound, unimpaired, or perfect condition.

The Bible also has a few things to say about integrity:

Let me be weighed on honest scales, That God may know my integrity.

The Lord shall judge the peoples; Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity within me.

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for You.

So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

bmmlwvsimaabs4qIt is so important to walk in integrity with your heart because if you don’t, you will walk in a place filled with many dangers. Those that lack integrity live a perverse life and are drawn to wickedness, are boastful and have a lying tongue. They will delight in the ways of evil and not good, and such people will corrupt your heart and will lie with their lips. They walk in the counsel of the ungodly and find themselves bound up by their own devices. Notice how I said “They will be bound up by their own devices” and not necessarily the devices of the enemy because all the devil has to do is dangle something in front of such a person and they’ll run quickly to evil and will get caught up in a snare. My message to you is to please not become such a person. Such a person will have a seared conscience (1 Timothy 4:2) and will not maintain any standard that has to do with Godly moral principles.

He who walks with integrity walks securely, But he who perverts his ways will become known.

The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.

Better is the poor who walks in his integrity Than one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

It is better to hold onto Integrity, because it is founded on a person choosing to maintain a Godly moral standard way of living. Those that have integrity will be blessed in everything that they do and will receive promotion, elevation and much much more.

The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.

Integrity is also founded on TRUST. Can God trust you with His business? If God can’t trust you with little, why is it that we expect to receive so much from God as if we are entitled to every blessing from the Lord? What have you given God lately? Have you given Him your time, your attention, your love? We really need to get away from simply demanding stuff from God and really start focusing on building a closer relationship with Him by pursuing the HEART of the FATHER. Seek to understand Jesus’ Heart by being a God Chaser.

Luke 16:10

10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.

INTEGRITY is what you pass on to the next generation if you are a parent/guardian/mentor/teacher/pastor/leader. If you look at Proverbs 20:7, it tells you that even the children of a righteous man who walks in integrity are blessed after him. If we need to pass on something to the next generation, let it be INTEGRITY people. Right now we live in a Godless society that wants us to compromise our beliefs and what we stand for, but God is seeking a people to stand for what is right, to stand up for what is good and to stand up for our Lord Jesus Christ. We can’t be closet Christians. Our life should scream “I’m a believer of Christ Jesus”, but do you want to know the reason why some people aren’t obvious in their Christianity? It is because some people are “Christians” in name only, but not in conduct. We cannot afford to be this way.

heartI remember sharing this story with my church the other day because right now we’re dealing with a series that my Pastor has been talking about called “God, Money and You”. You can check out those sermons on our church website So a while back my parents were friends with this guy that they went to school with in the UK. My parents moved to Canada and this friend followed, but he ended up living in Vancouver since we lived in Ontario. He had just gotten married a few years after that and apparently the woman that he married was quite wealthy so when he visited us and my parents in Ontario a few months after getting married, he came and showed off his golf clubs and made fun of my parents and their house and was quite disrespectful to them and to me with his show of arrogance and pride asserting that “he’d made it”.

Frankly speaking, I didn’t care and was very annoyed to serve this guy with hospitality because if it were me, I’d show you the door and won’t think twice on it if you think you can just disrespect me and my family in my own house, however, my parents were more gracious than I was at the time and entertained this so-called “friend” until he left to go back to Vancouver. I honestly was like good riddance…I mean really people, really! 😦  Oh Minister Sherline, you shouldn’t say that…yes, I’m saying that because I’m being real here.

My parents could not believe this supposed “bible-believing” friend that they went to school with together could change so much. My question was, did you really know the man? The man was obviously in love with money and you know what the Bible says about the love of money? It is the root of all evil. Don’t get me wrong, money in and of itself is not bad, but its the way in which one pursues it that matters. Do you pursue it with just means, or are you unjust in your methods of pursuing wealth? All these things matter people.

1 Timothy 6:10

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

A few months pass by and it became apparent that this friend no longer wanted to have anything to do with my parents because he was a “high-roller” now and why would he need to hang out with those below his so-called status? Let me just say that our standards are never God’s standards if we act with a haughty spirit filled with pride and arrogance. Anyways, a few months down the road we read about that brother in the newspaper. He had stolen over $450K from the Children’s hospital and wrote out over 75 fraudulent cheques. As a consequence, the man was put under house arrest for 2 years and we also heard that the government of Canada had placed a ban from him from ever traveling to the USA for life, he was stripped of his accountancy designation that he worked so hard alongside my stepdad to obtain in the UK, I mean, the man was simply destroyed. In the papers they quote this about him:

“”It’s the scarlet letter that you wear,” [An Official] said. “’He’s the guy that stole the money from the Children’s Hospital.’ That’s how he’ll be remembered.”

We as a family were shocked about this brother’s demise. I mean, the whole thing is sad, but this is what happens when people lack INTEGRITY to maintain Godly standards in their character and conduct. This is what happens when you don’t preserve your integrity. You compromise and do things your way because you don’t want to listen to God anymore, you want to take things into your own hands and feel like you don’t need to answer to anybody and refuse to submit to Godly and wise counsel. You will be operating in a place of mediocrity and will end up with a life that is mediocre. When you lead yourself astray, the devil uses you as his playground to get you to a place where you are bound up, isolated and can’t move. That is called BONDAGE folks.

The truth is, there is redemption and there is grace, however, the road is much harder to walk on because you have to guide yourself back to the right path by first seeking the Father’s heart through REPENTANCE. Don’t ever take God’s grace in your life for granted, because one of these days, that grace period will run out and it’ll be too late. If your heart is far from the Father, you are walking on a perilous road. Stop trying to exalt yourself when humility is the path that you should walk in in order to preserve your life and your future. I’ve lived a life serving dignitaries at a government level and can tell you, I’ve seen the worst in government and I’ve seen amazing people at the same time. How you climb up in promotion MATTERS, because if you ever fall, you’ll have to wonder if there will be anybody below to catch you when you fall. How you treat people MATTERS, because if you treat people with disdain, you will have no true support to help you when you’re down. Treat people in the way you would like to be treated, Amen!

Titus 2:6-8

Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,[a] sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.

Here is a song from Elevation Worship called Grace Like a Wave. I pray that it ministers to someone’s spirit today as we meditate of the Grace of God and how we shouldn’t take that grace for granted in our lives. Let’s learn to walk in right-standing, Amen! God bless you everybody! 😀

God-o-nomics – God’s Measure of Success

Hi Everybody!

What is God’s economics for success? Are we measuring up are are we falling short? God’s measure is always just but it isn’t always understood. I thought it awesome to check out this video. It really touches on the beatitudes that Jesus spoke of in Matthew 5:1-13. The beatitudes of Christ are what God uses to measure success in our lives; however, the question is, do we use these standards as our measaure of success?

 The Beatitudes

5 And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Believers Are Salt and Light

13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

We ought to always retain our salty flavour as Seasoned Christians if we are to walk in the Spirit victoriously. May the video bless and minister to you today. God bless you everybody! 😀 Registered & Protected

Stand Out!

Hello Everybody!

Today is an amazing day. It’s sunny out there and I just gotta give GOD all the PRAISE!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO! Ok, so that was my shout out today. Did it wake you up a bit? It is amazing when I look at what God has done for me in my life and I just want to say that when I look at where I was and how far I’ve come to be where I am, I feel like a shout just comes deep down in my Spirit to give a Praise to the Lord for what He’s done for me! God loves us sooo much that it’s sooo hard to comprehend sometimes when we think of the times we did things without understanding, without wisdom or direction that makes us beg  the question, “LORD WHAT SHALL I DO????!” The patterns of our world cannot take us to where we need to be nor to where we ought to be in God. Our God-given potential is sooo great that we can only function when we strive to be transformed, to be renewed, to be changed and to also STAND OUT against the patterns of this world that don’t believe in our Lord Jesus Christ. When we conform to worldy standards, we limit our GOD-given potential because that potential is divine in nature. The world cannot bring it out, it’s only GOD who can. So today, Meditate on what it takes to TRANSFORM into GOD’s image which was the ORIGINAL PLAN to begin with before we fell from our state of Grace, Our state of Glory, our state of GOD IN US and WITH US the HOPE OF GLORY.

I have a song today to Uplift your day. It’s called STAND OUT by Tye Tribbett and G.A. Choir. Stay Blessed EVERYBODY and choose to STAND OUT!

Here are the lyrics to this AWESOME SONG!

[speaking: Tye Tribbett]
When the enemy comes in like a flood,
The spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him.
I see the enemy coming in like a flood in our houses, in our churches, in our families.
But what I don’t see is the standard. People of God where’s the standard at?
We in a war y’all. It’s time to stand OUT!

It’s about to go down. The battle has begun.
It’s time for you to choose, whose side you gonna be on.
The devil is recruiting, temptin’ every man.
But he’s already defeated, all we have to do is stand.
No time for mixing light with the darkness.
Be black or be white, no more shades of gray.
Be separated, be holy, no matter what you do, don’t bow.
And even if you stand alone, stand anyhow.

[Tye:] Rise up!

Rise up people, put on your strength.
There’s a war going on and we will win.
Stand up and fight, let the kingdom prevail.
With power and might, we will stand out.

Stand out!
[G.A.:] Stand out!
Be not conformed to this world.
[G.A.:] Stand out!
Be transformed, renew your mind.
[G.A.:] Stand out!
Just like the three Hebrew boys,
[G.A.:] Stand out!

God is playin’ it cool, don’t wanna rub nobody the wrong way.
Almost like we’re trying to fit in. Acting like we don’t know the name.
It’s time for us to stand out and go against the grain.
Forget tryin’ to be down, let the world know you’ve been changed.
How you gonna be the praise leader? But you listen to R & B?
And hip-hop is on your ringtone. I’m trynna tell you God ain’t pleased.
And since when did it become cool for you to live together unmarried?
Men with men?
Women with women?
I’m tellin you God ain’t gon’ have it.

via the Enterprenuers Blog

It’s time to recognize.
The war it’s in disguise.
No time for compromise.
Wake up open your eyes.
[together:] The devil is a LIE!
You must be hot or cold.
You can’t blend in the crowd.
It’s time for God’s people ta –

Let me hear your war cry!

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!

Let me hear your war cry!

Ooh! (Let’s Stand Out!) Ooh! (Let’s Stand Out!) Ooh!

Little bit louder.
Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!

One more time!

Ooh! (Cry out loud!) Ooh! (Stand out!) Ooh!

[Speaking: Tye Tribbett]
We in a war people of God.
You don’t have to fight, all you gotta do is stand.
Make some noise G.A.!
Having done all to stand…
Now stand people of God!
If you gonna stand out with us… SCREAM!

Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.

Maintain Standards to Build Integrity

It is important that as you continue to strive for high goals and achieve your dreams, you must consider how you go about your business to accomplish your dreams and aspirations. You have to have standards in order to build integrity. When we fail at committing to a standard, we end up being wishy washy about what we do and trail towards the path of mediocrity.

Before I speak of standards ask yourself:  What is Integrity? What does integrity mean to you? Do you have it or are you even building towards it?

When I speak of maintaining a standard, I mean maintaining a “moral standard” in order to do the right thing. For me, my standards are based on Biblical principles as a guide and it may vary for many people what their standards may be but ultimately you have to remain consistent. When you are consistent in your conduct you will earn people’s respect and gain self-respect. The virtues of having standards are plentiful.

What standards can you easily work on?

1. Consistency – When you are consistent, you show that you are reliable and people can trust you to do things because your character remains constant. The virtue of maintaining consistency within your actions means you are a dependable individual and people won’t expect any suprises. You gain favour by valuing this character trait. Those that are inconsistent are unstable and no one can rely on an unpredictable person. If you can’t be trusted with little, you can’t be trusted with much (Luke 16:10).

2. Follow through – If you say that you are going to do something then do it. Many people start by saying they will commit to a task but never follow through. Deliver the goods that you said you would deliver because if you don’t, people will lose their faith and trust in you. This is also a part of remaining consistent with your actions. If you say you will show up at 8:30am to work then be there at 8:30. Being mediocre about what you are being trusted to do exemplifies a level of disinterest and lack of concern for the task that is entrusted to you. It is intolerable by the business world standards and neither should you cultivate such shoddy behaviour. Commit to your responsibilities and people will be able to guage how adept you are at following through to the things they require of you. If you are uncommitted in your heart then don’t volunteer for tasks that require responsibility. Rather keep your mouth shut instead of performing at unsatisfactory levels. The whole point of following through is to build  a positive character that can build a positive reputation. If you perform below the base level of expectations, then you set yourself up for failure.

3. Finish what you start – Complete what is required of you. Many good projects have a strong beginning but during the process some people drop the ball and never end up completing the project as a result. If you want to be results oriented, then you have to start with the end in mind. You have to follow through to the end. Finishing what you start means that you are a person that is goal oriented. When you have goals and you complete them, there is a level of satisfaction that comes upon you on a job well done. The race is not for the swift nor the strong if you remember the fable regarding the hare and the tortoise. If you need to take your time to finish something then take your time if needed as long as you complete the task with quality versus quantity. The quality of work must be emphasized here. Quantity counts but it is useless if you have it without it backed by quality. Don’t distract yourself with what the other person is doing and concentrate on what you have to do. If you get side-tracked you’ll make a mess of what you are doing. Remain focused and block out distractions. Distractions hinder you from reaching your goals.

Having standards helps maintain your integrity. People view those that uphold their standards as powerful and amazing individuals, but people often forget that it takes a lot of work and effort to maintain your integrity. You have to do the basic things like the 3 tips I have listed here as a starting point to build your integrity and create a standard for yourself. Do not be like everybody else because you are unique. You have to define the standards that you will uphold and then follow through. Do not be like a leaf that is moved by the tossing of the wind; be firm like a tree that has it’s roots that reach far deep into the ground. When you maintain a standard, you will grow in it and you will not be easily shaken.

The Consequence of having NO Standards – I believe that if you have no standards then you are guided by loose morals. There is a saying that comes to mind that says, “If you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything”. Such an individual is fickle-minded and can easily betray your confidence since they have nothing that the truly follow to the end. They remain inconsistent and they are successful at disappointing people with their actions. They do not see a need to change because they are moved by what is convenient for them at the time and are absolutely undependable. Such people lack a true moral compass to walk uprightly and lack dignity. They are unstable in their reasoning skills and in conversations they may agree with everything you say to “appear” like they have a mutual understanding with you when really they don’t stand for anything that is inconvenient to themselves. Watch out for such characters. They manage to cause a lot of chaos in the workplace, in your family and your friendship circles. They know how to do anything for you but at their own pace.  They rarely finish what they start and they lack completeness. They are double-minded in all their ways that you can conclude that they are hypocrites. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:7) so remember that you must be very careful when you come across such individuals in your life. Do not entrust them with important projects for they will surely bring it to ruin.

The Issue of having Double Standards

I also want to address those that have DOUBLE  STANDARDS as well. Don’t be a person that says “Don’t do as I do but do as I say”. Hypocrites love this type of language. I don’t condone it. I believe in the “Practice what you Preach” approach. Having double standards causes chaos and confusion. You don’t want to create a whole bunch of fools with this level of conduct. A fool says “there is no right way of doing something” while a wise person says “there is a correct way of doing something as there are various ways of doing the same thing”. What is your moral compass like today? Are you wishy washy with certain things or do you have discipline? People with standards have discipline whereas those with no standards or those that operate in double standards act with mediocrity. They lack integrity by nature since their actions are tied to their loose morality. Build yourself and maintain a Standard that you will follow  through to the end. Consistency is dependable and finishing what you start proves that you are steadfast.

My Last Note: Please understand that my discussion of maintaining a standard doesn’t mean that you won’t battle with your weaknesses. Having said that, it is important to understand that just because you have weaknesses in areas that you find difficult to follow through doesn’t mean that you lack integrity because to have integrity you have to work hard at it. You don’t become a person of integrity just like that because it’s always a work in progress. However, if you don’t strive to a standard then you are walking in the path of mediocrity. Standards help to build your integrity and helps boost your reputation.

However, Integrity is more important than having a reputation. Reputations are built on how others see you whereas integrity is built while others aren’t always looking. Choose to have standards that you can walk in and you can use the three points I have provided as a guide to get you going. If you’ve been walking in confusion for a while and don’t know how to get to that stage of discipline then seek an accountability partner that can be your mentor to help you walk uprightly. You are not an island to yourself so it’s important to practice self-discipline if you want to learn how to have Integrity with the help of others. I personally still am a work in progress so it’s safe to say that I haven’t “arrived” but I will continue to work hard at it. This post is intended to encourage you and boost your character to a new level of thinking. I hope it helps you and feel free to pass it onto others that need this message.

Remember: Have stability and remain consistent; have standards and you will become a person of value, stature, and a person of Integrity. Registered & Protected
