In the Mood for Worship

Hi People!

I’ve just come back from vacation and feel rejuvenated. 😀 I’m in the mood for worship so for those in Canada Happy Family Day y’all! I didn’t expect to come back to -25 degrees…but I’ll praise God anyway. I praise God I’m African and can still enjoy traveling between two hemispheres to have two summers per year. Don’t hate lol 😀

Here are some songs to bless your spirit today that have been in my spirit all of last night.

The first one comes from Hillsongs United called Heart Like Heaven. This song has been ministering to my spirit and it’s just awesome in surround sound. Let this song minister to your spirit today.

The Next song is from for King & Country called Shoulders. Sometimes you need to know that God carries you through many challenges. You just need to lean on Him as the answer to your need. This song has been blessing my spirit. I pray that this one also blesses yours.

The Last Song I will post here today is from Newsboys singing We Believe. I just love how Michael Tait sings this song. I truly believe that this song will bless somebody today.

I know that I usually just post one song per post, but right now I don’t want to talk I just want to saturate my spirit with Praise and Worship Songs. Through my travels God has just been showing me things and ministering to my spirit as of late. I feel so light in my spirit that I just want to Praise God more. I actually have more songs I could put on here but I think I’ll keep it to three for now.

It’s so important to give time to worship God. Personally, I find my gift in the prophetic is stimulated in the presence of worship. I hear God more clearly during that time and so I fill my spirit with songs that give honor and praise to God. This is how I meditate. I shut out the noise of my life and sit in His Presence. Fill your spirit with worship and you’ll see things clearly in that presence. Don’t allow distractions. I remember being in a church where I just wanted to sit in the presence of worship and then a sister so and so or brother so and so would just distract me because they want my attention…I would feel really upset about it because “seriously, can’t you see I’m in a different place right now????” well…you get that from some “church people”…forgive them anyway… *sigh*.

The point is, in the presence of Worship, God is there. You need answers from God? Then visit Him in the place of Worship. You can worship Him in your living room, in the church or at work. In fact you can worship Him anywhere. God is limitless. You just have to make time for it. Don’t make excuses, make time for God, Amen.

God bless You everybody! 😀

Humility will Promote You in your Destiny

Hello Everybody!

My church and I have commenced a 21 Day Fast starting Jan 4, 2016 although I started on the 1st personally and we are on day 5 of the Fast. I shared a message last night with our members still on the topic of King Hezekiah. Listen, if you read my Prayer for 2016 you will have noticed that King Hezekiah started to restore righteousness in the church (temple) with the people of Jerusalem since the previous King Ahaz had made a mess of things by introducing idols into the temple, stopping the practice of people bringing their tithes and offerings into the Storehouse…and the list goes on. The end result of all that mess was that the people suffered desolation and trouble because they denied their worship to the ONE true God.

[ Ahaz Reigns in Judah ] Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem; and he did not do what was right in the sight of the Lord, as his father David had done.

I remember telling our members that You become what you worship. If you worship a singer (e.g. Michael Jackson)…you’ll imitate his mannerisms, dance style, clothing style etc to the point that you’ll look exactly like him…I’m using him as an example because I’ve seen fans…and then I’ve seen FANS…..extreme fans that is. I’m not saying that it’s wrong to like someone’s abilities…but don’t make them your god. There is a fine line between mere admiration and worship. Don’t cross the line. If you worship Jesus, in the same way, you will become like Him in your mannerisms, speech, and appearance. Choose today whom you’ll serve/worship because this year has a strong correlation to worship. What you worship in this year will determine the way you end your year (if you make it that is). I know what I’m saying might not seem cosy for your heart right now…but I feel led to address some stuff that are pretty much black and white with no gray areas for you to feel doubt about what I’m saying.

God is interested in RIGHTEOUSNESS being restored this year and it all begins with YOU.music_temple

King Hezekiah started the first Month of the year with cleaning out the temple with the help of the Levites and the priests. The Levites ended up being more sanctified than the priests and ended up taking up tasks that should have been the job of the Priests but because they had not finished going through that process of purification and sanctification, the Levites who were always in a state of sanctification started to take on more work to clean God’s house. You can read all about it in 2 Chronicles Chapters 29-31 for yourself. If you are a worshiper, this is the level in which we as Christians should reach. Consecration is what God is seeking from us this year…to be in right-standing. In no way am I saying that this is an easy task…but the truth of the matter is…we need to go back to that place where churches start talking about the importance of HOLINESS again. I don’t know why the message of Holiness has been silenced, but as a person hearing the heart-beat of God, I know this is what He wants restored for the year 2016 with His People. If you want Jesus to be your God, then you have to want to be His people.

Anyway, back to the message I spoke last night: Hezekiah did all he could to set the people of Jerusalem back on the right path by restoring the foundation of righteousness and faith that was broken among the people because of the mess left by the previous King Ahaz. He (Hezekiah) as a leader made GOD important to the nation by putting Him First and because he did that, King Hezekiah prospered in all that He did and had the Lord’s attention.

2 Chronicles 31:20 – 20 Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah, and he did what was good and right and true before the Lord his God. 21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, in the law and in the commandment, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart. So he prospered.

In this year you will face a fierce battle if your agenda is to restore righteousness in your life and in the life of the church.

This message isn’t intended to make you feel fear, because fear is not of God, but what God showed me through the passage below that I have pasted From 2 Chronicles chapter 32 is that the King of Assyria is like a person who comes out to mock you, harass you, threaten you, undermine you and what you stand for. Such a person will even boast of how they stole your opportunities, stole your house, car, wife, husband, children or any blessing  you had in your life because they are filled with so much pride and arrogance simply because they are ruthless and they don’t care what they do to get ahead of you in life.

The devil doesn’t play around people… so WAKE UP!

You cannot afford to be complacent this year…you have to learn to FIGHT the good fight of FAITH.

If you purpose in your heart to go back to that place where you humble yourself before God, you will be victorious in the battles that you face.

REMEMBER: HUMILITY IS POWER UNDER SELF-CONTROL. It is the place you set yourself aside (even when you don’t have to) and allow God to step in. The question is, how many people do that these days??????? It’s the question of the day I tell you.

The fight this year isn’t going to be won by your own might or power…your intellect alone isn’t sufficient to deal with what’s coming, but I’m here to tell you that in this battle there is a method that will assure your victory. That method is called HUMILITY and WISDOM.  You cannot afford to react to the same attacks you experienced from the past in this year. You have to develop SELF-CONTROL.   Let’s read this scripture:

2 Chronicles 32 (NKJV)

Sennacherib Boasts Against the Lord

32 After these deeds of faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and entered Judah; he encamped against the fortified cities, thinking to win them over to himself. 2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come, and that his purpose was to make war against Jerusalem, 3 he consulted with his leaders and commanders[a] to stop the water from the springs which were outside the city; and they helped him. 4 Thus many people gathered together who stopped all the springs and the brook that ran through the land, saying, “Why should the kings[b] of Assyria come and find much water?” 5 And he strengthened himself, built up all the wall that was broken, raised it up to the towers, and built another wall outside; also he repaired the Millo[c] in the City of David, and made weapons and shields in abundance. 6 Then he set military captains over the people, gathered them together to him in the open square of the city gate, and gave them encouragement, saying, 7 Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is  with him; for there are more with us than with him. 8 With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

9 After this Sennacherib king of Assyria sent his servants to Jerusalem (but he and all the forces quote___humility_by_takaonguitars-d5qpfrawith him laid siege against Lachish), to Hezekiah king of Judah, and to all Judah who were in Jerusalem, saying, 10 “Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria: ‘In what do you trust, that you remain under siege in Jerusalem? 11 Does not Hezekiah persuade you to give yourselves over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, “The Lord our God will deliver us from the hand of the king of Assyria”? 12 Has not the same Hezekiah taken away His high places and His altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, “You shall worship before one altar and burn incense on it”? 13 Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands in any way able to deliver their lands out of my hand? 14 Who was there among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly destroyed that could deliver his people from my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you from my hand? 15 Now therefore, do not let Hezekiah deceive you or persuade you like this, and do not believe him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you from my hand?’”

16 Furthermore, his servants spoke against the Lord God and against His servant Hezekiah.

[The King of Assyria was being such a bully here that he had to bring a gang to harass Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem]

17 He also wrote letters to revile the Lord God of Israel, and to speak against Him, saying, “As the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver His people from my hand.” 18 Then they called out with a loud voice in Hebrew[d] to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to frighten them and trouble them, that they might take the city. 19 And they spoke against the God of Jerusalem, as against the gods of the people of the earth—the work of men’s hands.

[The fact that he even had to write letters tells me that people might even email you, text you and harass you in this method as well]

Sennacherib’s Defeat and Death

20Now because of this King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah, the son of Amoz, prayed and cried out to heaven.

[Hezekiah did the right thing…he humbled himself before God and prayed. The truth is, he could have responded to the King of Assyria in violence, but he knew that the battle was too great for him to rely on his own might and power, he needed the Spirit of God to help him with this battle. His humility is what produced a victorious outcome for Him and the people of Jerusalem]

21 Then the Lord sent an angel who cut down every mighty man of valor, leader, and captain in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned shamefaced to his own land. And when he had gone into the temple of his god, some of his own offspring struck him down with the sword there.

[The end for the King of Assyria was SHAME and DEATH. God struck every leader what was in cahoots with the King of Assyria leaving him powerless to the point that he returned back home in shame and his own children who are his own relatives are what killed him. It just goes to show that PRIDE goes before a fall, and a haughty spirit before destruction. HUMILITY IS KEY]

22 Thus the Lord saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all others, and guided them[e] on every side. 23 And many brought gifts to the Lord at Jerusalem, and presents to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations thereafter.

The humility King Hezekiah demonstrated in this attack is based on the kind of relationship he had with the Lord his God. God wants us to have this level of humility this year so that when you do face a crisis or a series of crises, you will have a strong head on your shoulder to seek His face to help you win the battle that you face. You cannot rely on previous methods with the types of attacks that may come in your life this year. LEARN TO LEAN ON JESUS.

 Matthew 23:12

And whoever exalts himself will behumbled, and he who humbles himself will beexalted.

Points the remember:

  • People will/may harass you during this year – they will poke fun at your faith and mock armor-god1your God. They might even write about you to their supervisors to tempt you to strike back in anger. Your role is to not give in to the harassment. Have self-control and know where you stand.
  • People will threaten to steal your blessings but you shall not be moved
  • People will try to shame you but God will put them to shame
  • People will try to attack you using various methods but God will rescue you and protect you and your household
  • People will try to steal from you but God will help you recover all that was taken from you
  • People will exalt themselves before you but God will humble them in your presence by preparing a table before your enemies
  • When God gives you the victory because you decided to fight the good fight of faith in what you believe in and remained humble, you will be exalted and you will be promoted

God wants to do New things with us this year but you have to be open to instruction, love mercy, act justly and pursue wisdom.

You cannot afford to react the same way to the same attack in the year 2016.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, allthings have become new.

Promotion requires WISDOMed7a00378576c9b492ca240a105f3540

Proverbs 4:7-9 (NKJV)

7 Wisdom is the principal thing;

Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding.
8 Exalt her, and she will promote you;
She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.
9 She will place on your head an ornament of grace;
A crown of glory she will deliver to you.”

James 4:6

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

Here is a song from Kevin Levar and One Sound called Destiny. May this song bless your spirit everybody! Love ya 😀

So What Do We Do Now With Mark Driscoll?

So What Do We Do Now With Mark Driscoll?.

I read this article and thought to myself how sad it is that popular preachers are straying from the safety net of wise counselors by abusing their powers that not only affect the flock, but their spiritual walk with God on a personal basis.

I think the major take away from this article are the numbered items that I think are key for leaders to understand about their role. There is nothing wrong with making mistakes…but it is the attitude in which those refuse to repent or be corrected by them that worries me. I have seen this happen in a church before and all the signs are there, but people are too afraid to speak up, pay attention, or do something about it (i.e. confront their leaders). We are our brothers keeper…and it is a duty to make sure that when even a leader strays. we guide them back on the right path on the right road with love and compassion and direction. If we shy away from correcting them…are we not saying we don’t care for their lives???

This should be food for thought today.

What would Jesus want us to do? We cannot forsake our brothers and sisters…but if they refuse to change…they will have to answer to God in the long run for their own actions. Apostasy continues when people don’t stand up for what is right, allowing abuse to continue to happen.

As a watchwoman, I find this to be critical to watch out for this year…leaders will reap what they sow during the season of the harvest if they don’t repent. It is not God’s will to watch Christian leaders fall…He wants them to change their ways and humble themselves and pray and turn away from their wicked ways, and God will restore them and heal them and deliver them, if and when they do choose the path of the humble and decide to repent openly before God and their flock.

This is a good time to remind people of the warning signs of an unhealthy church:

1. Little or no accountability. When celebrity preachers seem eager to tell everyone else what to do but aren’t willing to hear correction from others, prepare for a train wreck. There is safety in the multitude of counselors (see Prov. 11:14). There is much less safety—even danger—when a leader does not seek counsel from a diverse group of his peers.

2. Spiritual elitism. If there is a spirit of control in a church, people are usually told their group is superior. If people choose to leave, they are shunned or branded as renegades. Sometimes, in extreme cases, people are even cursed if they leave. This cultic behavior inflicts unimaginable emotional suffering and also divides families.

3. An oppressive atmosphere. Authoritarian leaders control people through manipulation. This may come in the form of threats, legalistic demands, unreasonable requirements or false doctrines. In such a church no one is allowed to ask questions. Spiritual heaviness lies like a thick cloud over the congregation, and few believers manifest genuine joy.

4. Angry domination. Tyrants are surprisingly similar. Because they want to control their surroundings, they often blow up when people do not conform to their demands. Yet the apostle Paul taught that church leaders should not be “violent” or “quarrelsome” but “self-controlled” and “gentle” (see 1 Tim. 3:2-3). He also instructed Timothy that the Lord’s servant “must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone” (2 Timothy 2:24).

 5. A low view of women. While churches today differ in their views on women in leadership, it should be noted that authoritarian churches almost always discourage women from pursuing any genuine role in ministry. Women are viewed as useful only in their functions as submissive wives and mothers, and they are not encouraged to step beyond these confines to pursue ministry opportunities.

Let’s pray that the healing power of Jesus covers this situation in Seattle—and that the people who left Mars Hill Church, the people who remain there, and Mark Driscoll himself can recover from the trauma of spiritual abuse.

Self Productivity vs. Self Pity

godprovides

Hi Everybody!

god-will-never-leave-you-emptyIt’s been a while since I last posted anything on here, and I apologize since it’s been kind of up and down for me lately. For those that haven’t read one of my previous posts, I got laid off from my job recently, and I have been going through the job search phase and keeping my hopes up and keeping my faith alive. I keep speaking positive into my situation, and will believe that this time of unemployment shall pass. Either way, I am enjoying the time I have to spend with the Lord each day. I get to pray and seek His face each day as I wonder what will tomorrow bring?

The way I see it, it’s better to be productive rather than sit around milling about thinking of what could have been, but wasn’t, what should have been, but isn’t. It leads a person down the road to self-pity land which is a place I refuse to go to. Sometimes, when things like a job or a family member or a loved one is snatched away from you, you run the chance of choosing to operate in one of two attitudes; one that is grateful for the grace of God that is on your life that helps you see each day is in God’s hands, or one that is hateful towards God and despises the joy of others while you are in your own perceived trial or test. One way or another, it’s better to live a life filled with GRATITUDE in your ATTITUDE rather than operate with with DISRESPECT and SELF-ENTITLEMENT.

In a way, no one owes you anything and people who live humbly are often the ones who live with gratitude in their hearts. Everything in this world belongs to God and God owes us nothing and yet He still gave us His beloved and begotten Son Jesus, to die for us and resurrect for us in fulfillment of the scriptures to save us from the price of living in sin which is death. God wants all of us to have life and LIVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY!

John 10:10

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

The greatest way to live in life is not seeking pity from others about your circumstances, but seeking a reason to Give the Lord PRAISE EVERYDAY!!!!

God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek HIM! The question is, do we really believe that and are we truly seeking His face?

Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

It is so important to give the Lord Praise everyday, because nothing in this life is secure nor permanent since life is transient and temporary. However, we all have the ability to secure our lives in Jesus Christ by making it a point to live productive lives worshiping our King of kings through acts of kindness, being representatives of His grace in our daily encounters with people everyday which include the workplace, family, or church. We all have a duty to remain productive.

Self-pity is self-seeking behaviour…and NOT a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Provision
It is a choice to choose to be SELF-PRODUCTIVE (solution focused thinking) versus SELF-PITY (self-seeking, arrogant, prideful and self-entitled behavioural thinking).

CHOOSE to be SELF-PRODUCTIVE because such people find solutions and more answers to questions than those who are self-focused individuals that cannot see past their own mirror and see that the very answers that they seek concerning their trial or situation may very well lie within them.

The Key to remaining SELF-PRODUCTIVE…. is by keeping the right focus. FOCUS ON GOD!

Stop focusing on  yourself if you are because the rewards that God has for His people are only for those who are ACTIVELY and DILIGENTLY SEEKING HIM.

Question: Who are you seeking? What are you seeking? Are you Seeking God?

I believe that the Holy Spirit in me has been stirring me up to say to somebody today who maybe reading this post that:

“You’ve got to stop focusing on yourself and start seeking things of the Kingdom because all your treasures, all your prosperity, all your opportunities are wrapped up in JESUS!”.

If you don’t have Him in your heart…you will seek things of this world in vain and will not obtain the fullness of Joy that the treasures you attempt to store up  here on earth bring. 270205_530379613647954_1757161617_n

Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Matthew 6:21

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Psalm 16:11
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Today, Choose to be SELF-PRODUCTIVE have a solution-focused mindset rather than a defeatist attitude.  God works with FAITH…not with FAITHLESSNESS and SELFISHNESS.  It is impossible to please God without Faith (Hebrews 11:6)… if that is what you lack, then be productive, and WORK OUT YOUR FAITH with much reverential fear and trembling.

I have here  two songs to minister to you today. One by J. Moss called God’s Got It. It ministers to me and it’s a bit upbeat but I pray it ministers to you today.

The other is my Jason Nelson called Shifting the Atmosphere. May these worship songs bless your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody!

Guarding Your Heart from the Spirit of DIVISION.

guardyourheart1

Hi Everybody!

I know I know, It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on here, LOL 😀 .

The 21 Day Daniel Fast this year for me has been rather different from the one I had last year. I’d say that it is just as intense as last year and so many new things are happening around me that I can’t get into it just yet. All I can say is that it’s been an uphill battle in this fast to keep my wits about me without getting weary lol 😀 .

For the past few days, the Lord has been talking to me about the Spirit of Division.  I thought to myself “What about it Lord?”, and that’s when He started to reveal things to me to keep note of for this year.

imagesCAK6X5LDThe Spirit of Division is the kind of spirit that prevents UNITY. It is the type of spirit that can come in various forms, but stems from the root demon spirit called PRIDE. It causes disunity and is known to be a Thief of time, effort, emotions and steals people’s Provision for God’s VISION for our lives (John 10:10). God wants a UNIFIED Church. If gossip mongers create strife, there will be divisions amongst the fold which means that the CHURCH will crumble if there is a lack of agreement and unity amongst its members (Amos 3:3 – Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?). If Division can be created to cause disagreements and arguments amongst the members of the Church, then how can the body of Christ walk in the same direction if the members do not agree upon any one thing? This is what will happen if DISUNITY is achieved which is exactly what the Devil wants in order to weaken the power of the UNIFIED CHURCH. I feel like the spirit of the Lord has been wanting me to say for quite sometime “Church of Jesus Christ, Guard your heart from this DIVISIVE Spirit!”God in your HeartWe must learn to guard our hearts from adopting such a Divisive spirit that seeks to kill, steal & destroy the Unity of the Church that is Strong in the Lord and in the Power of His Might.

[ Avoid Divisive Persons ] Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.

The Lord also revealed to me during my meditations that a Spirit of Division is also a characteristic of a DOUBLE-MINDED Man who is unstable in all their ways (James 1:8). The only way to keep yourself from becoming double-minded is by learning to remain humble in all that you do for God and for others by understanding the true meaning of SUBMISSION.

James 4:7-8imagesCAA4WUEV

Humility Cures Worldliness

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

DRAW NEAR TO GOD and RESIST THE DEVIL. It is so important to not allow oneself to be embittered with envy (jealousy),or temptations that lead one to lust, or acts of depravity, anger & hatred which are all sinful behaviours that contaminate a persons soul. Such behaviours stray from the path of righteousness and cause one to act with a divisive spirit that is unable to work with others as a team. This is what happens when one yields to a Spirit of Division. Such persons, cause strife, they cause arguments, they enjoy the breaking up of peoples who once walked in agreement and they are the ones that prevent UNITY by creating DISUNITY.

imagesCAU1G9XM1 Corinthians 1:10

[ Sectarianism Is Sin ] Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
UNITY is what keeps the Church of Jesus Christ STRONG. If the devil can find a few key members in the fold to cause division, then as the American saying goes “United we Stand, Divided we FALL”.
So what do you do about those members that cause DIVISIONS amongst others on purpose?
 imagesCAMNQYNL
[ Avoid Divisive Persons ] Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus[b] Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.

We are told in the Book of Romans to:
1.) Take note of who they are ; and
               2.) AVOID THEM.

imagesCA1ANTEPAnd by avoiding them, I mean, DO NOT partake or imitate their behaviours…DO NOT do what they do…and DO NOT allow them to contaminate others who you know can be easily led astray by such individuals. Protect yourselves and your brothers and sisters from such a foul spirit. It is so important to build discernment applied with WISDOM so that you know how to tackle such a spirit strategically using the WORD of GOD and by praying without ceasing seeking God’s direction and instruction. This Spirit is not one to toy with, neither one to disregard. Haman Spirits act alike, Saul-like spirits act in the same-like manner so be wise and guard your spirit from ENVY, Strife, Anger, Jealousy, Hatred, Lust and such behaviours that contribute to being divisive and argumentative in Character and in Spirit.
imagesCA7E6O0B

Jude 1:16-21

Apostates Predicted

16 These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. 17 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: 18 how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. 19 These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.

Maintain Your Life with God

20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

heartWe are forwarned that those who operate with a Spirit of Division are sensual persons who DO NOT have the HOLY Spirit in them (Jude 1:19). Therefore, we must do what the Bible says in (Jude 1:20-21) and keep praying in the Holy Spirit and in the LOVE of God always pursuing the mercy of God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In essence, the point is to remain humble and practice humility as a way of life. Humility requires us to submit to the will of God in our lives and to heed the Godly counsel of our elders and not to be filled with self-seeking behaviours that seek to satisfy the desires of our flesh. When we yield to this wisdom, we can properly guard ourselves from becoming obstinate, callous, rude, calculative, and deceptive, not only deceiving others but ourselves from the Truth which is in GOD’s Word. The spirit of Division operates in the same way as one who practices False Humility  if you reference back to the post I wrote last year regarding The Importance of Detecting False Humility.

Guard your heart, your mind, your spirit and your soul from adopting this type of spirit. It will affect your Character and everything you do. Remain Humble and always abide in the Truth.  It is always better to esteem others above yourself and it is even better to give to others rather than to receive from others.

Unity is Strength

A United Church is a Strong Church

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

Acts 20:35

I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Such a person operating under the spirit of Division will always seek to esteem themselves higher than others and will always prefer to receive accolades, gifts, prizes (including bribes), and high recognition from others to puff up their PRIDE (this definitely reminds me of SAUL who was jealous of David in 1 Samuel 18:6-8). My dear brothers and sisters, we must avoid becoming such a person. Remain humble and learn what it means to SUBMIT TO GOD and also to submit to Godly counselors who watch out for your soul. Refrain from becoming bitter about any issue that arises in your life, for bitterness will lead you to sin in this way if you do not learn to manage your emotions well, so check yourself before you wreck yourself, and repent to God if you have harboured such traits that are described here regarding the spirit of Division and seek to humble yourself before God to purify your heart and to make it more like Jesus Christ’s heart which is filled with Love, Peace, Righteousness and Joy.

Developing “Staying Power” to Remain Free

400441_450608054983330_1000003999_n5

Hi Everybody!

For the past few days during the Daniel Fast, the Lord has been speaking to me about maintaining “Staying Power”. At first I had no clue what He meant since I knew it was a business term so I had to look it up and this is what it is defined as:

stay·ing pow·er

Noun
  1. The ability to maintain an activity or commitment despite fatigue or difficulty; stamina.
  2. Long-term popularity of a product or trend: “hip-hop has a remarkable staying power”.
Synonyms
endurance – stamina – durability – hardiness – resistance

And according to investorworlds.com “Staying Power” in business terms is defined as:

The ability of a person or entity to endure for a long period of time, even through rough times or situations. “During every economic downturn, the company was able to weather the storm and remain profitable. This was a true testament to the company’s staying power.”

energizerWhy mention STAYING POWER?

Through this fast, Daniel learned an important lesson when he prayed and fasted for God to come down with the answers he sought for; He learned the true power of ENDURANCE in order to obtain his breakthrough. Many people want breakthroughs in life but have not past the test of ENDURANCE to stay the course. I have found that it’s easy to start something with much passion and enthusiasm in the beginning, but the true test is whether one can endure to the end. This is a matter of Starting and Finishing something.

Now, for Daniel he had hindrances that he did not realize he had to fight in the spiritual realm in order to receive a message of confirmation from the Lord spoken by an angel. Many people fight unseen forces and underestimate the intensity of the battle when they give up too early. According to Daniel 10:12-14, the angel revealed to him that on the very first day the Lord had answered his prayer but he had to battle the principality of Persia.

Daniel 10:12-14

12 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. 14 Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come.

Finish the raceIn this Fast, the Lord wants to train our spirits to practice ENDURANCE in Spiritual Warfare. Don’t give up too easily as you pray with expectancy for instruction, direction and confirmation of God’s Word in your life. As you press through do not be naive and underestimate the enemy who seeks to Kill, Steal and Destroy your Hope and Faith during this fast (John 10:10). You’ve got to fix your eyes on JESUS.

The Bible says that we cannot work by MIGHT nor by Power, but by HIS SPIRIT (Zechariah 4:6). If we want to endure during this Fast and if we want to strengthen ourselves for battle, we need to rely on the Holy Spirit to provide us guidance to maintain our STAYING POWER in the Lord. Staying Power only comes from the guidance of the HOLY SPIRIT.

How does one maintain STAYING POWER to stay the course?

1. By Practicing Humility – You need to know that you need God to help you endure the tests and the trials that you may encounter this year no matter what comes your way. Also confess your sins and weaknesses to God by practicing daily repentance so that the Accuser has no room to hinder the progress of your prayers by petitioning against your soul. Recognize your mentors and respect them when they chastise you and guide you because they are the people that God plants in your life to watch out for your soul. Disrespecting them only closes doors of opportunity in your life and will definitely leave you in a vulnerable position for the enemy to attack you ruthlessly.

James 4:6
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

1 Peter 5:5
[ Submit to God, Resist the Devil ] Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.

Hebrews 12:7
If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?

2. Practice Worship DAILY – this is your battle axe weapon of warfare in this fast. Keep your mind, body, soul meditating on God’s Word so that the enemy can’t kill, steal or destroy your hope and your faith.

2 Corinthians 10:4
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,

3. Being specific in your Prayer life – You need to be specific in your prayers so that you hit the target. Don’t be vague otherwise you will not receive what you truly require during this fast. The most important thing to pray for is WISDOM. It is worth far more than rubies or diamonds and this can take you a long long way.68652_317238341728647_846683213_n

2 Chronicles 1:10-12

10 Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of Yours?”

11 Then God said to Solomon: “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of your enemies, nor have you asked long life—but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge My people over whom I have made you king— 12 wisdom and knowledge are granted to you; and I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings have had who were before you, nor shall any after you have the like.”

4. Meditate on the Word – Guard your spirit from UNBELIEF by abiding in the Truth that is contained in God’s Word. The Bible says that you must meditate on the Word day and night so that it does not depart from your mouth.

Joshua 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Psalm 1:2
But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.

These are the things that I can think of at the moment that will help you develop Staying Power. If anybody has anything to add, feel free to comment down below.

The Lord continues to emphasize in my prayer life the importance of Humility.  Humility will take you to your destiny; Pride will kick you off the path. Let the Grace of God be with you during this 21 Day Daniel Fast because God resists the proud only because they do not believe they need God to direct their path.

Proverbs 3:5-7

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,tumblr_m37m8xen201r2ph83o1_500
And lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct[a] your paths.

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.

Matthew 10:22
And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

Those that can endure during this season of prayer and fasting, whatever you are seeking from the Lord shall be saved and you will receive your reward for your endurance. Do not falter in your Christianity, do not lose hope, even if you stumble along the way, get yourself back up again and continue to run towards God with all that you’ve got! Seek God to purify your heart so that your flesh decreases and the Spirit of God increases in you.

1 Corinthians 3:14
If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.

2 Timothy 2:3
You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 2:12
If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.

endurance1So everybody, the Staying Power of God is the ability to ENDURE through hardship and remain standing strong and firm in the Faith. This is how one also maintains their ANOINTING like the 5 wise virgins (refer back to The Bride of Christ is Anointed post) who kept a supply of fresh oil to keep their lamps burning. Do not be like the 5 foolish ones that did not prepare properly to keep their lamps burning. You need divine wisdom in order to continue the course and endure the race set before you. Keep in mind that yesterdays anointing cannot sustain you for tomorrows troubles, so it is important to always seek a fresh Word, a fresh anointing, a fresh direction through revelation to continue on the path that lays ahead of you.

The Kingdom of God shall not be shaken, so be guided by the instruction of the Holy Spirit and remain in obedience to God’s Guidance by yielding to HIS WISDOM and stay strong in the Lord and in the Power of His Might (Ephesians 6:10).

You can become free from bondages and things that hindered you from progress by maintaining your Humility, practicing your worship unto God daily, being specific in your prayer life and by meditating on God’s Word day and night to fortify your SOUL.

Daniel 6:26
I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end.

21 Day Daniel Fast: Needing God’s Grace to Build Emotional Strength

bible quotes on strength (8)

Hi Everybody!

It’s been a busy New Year, more busier than I anticipated, but we are back in the mode of the 21 Day Daniel Fast. My Fast started on the 2nd of January and so far I have decided that I won’t chronicle my meditations daily as I did last year. I found that last year the fast was so intense that I found it difficult to sleep because I was in such a spiritually heightened state that I developed insomnia which I have not been able to get over since now.

David has Emotional Strength to defeat a Goliath

These days, I feel the need to just bask in solitude and will type up whenever I have the time my thoughts during the fast. So far there have been many strange things that I have been noticing as of late, but despite all that I have witnessed and experienced and still continue to witness, I can attest to the fact that God’s grace during the fast is amazing. I find that the beginning of the Fast is always the most difficult for many including myself to start; however, as time goes by it gets a little bit easier once you reach your determination level to stay the course.

I find that just by being silent and really just training my spirit to hear what the Father has to say has been a humbling experience. Although I see visions of things happening and things yet to come, there is that sense of feeling overwhelmed by the information that I’m receiving that has caused me to feel like I just need to be silent for this fast. It’s that waiting period when you are awaiting instructions and at the same time taking the time to observe that which ought to change within (yourself) in order to change throughout. I probably am not making any sense right now to others; however, what I will say is that as I sit here contemplating about God’s grace in my life, I can testify that there are times when I have taken it for granted. I think to some extent we all do. Life is seemingly so transient, but when you find the path that leads to eternity, your life never really stays the same again unless you decide to forsake the path.

From what I can see, this year is going to be dynamic and at the same time a trying year as well. I get the sense that there will be difficult tests that each person will have to go through in order to see a new side of God in their lives. Developing spiritual strength starts from developing emotional strength. The one word that hit me at the beginning of this fast that has been disturbing me for quite some time is the word “Treachery”. I’m not exactly sure why this has been on my mind as of late, but from what I understand, all I can think of is that as I have been talking about the David Generation rising this year, it is important to know how one should engage the enemy especially enemies that have a Saul-like spirit. There was a point where David had an opportunity to kill Saul because of his treacherous ways, but David did not kill him even though he may have been justified in doing so. It is so important to NOT create any room for hatred to enter into ones heart. It has a way of contaminating your spirit. This is why we need to make room for God’s grace in our lives. The Grace of God helps us to overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21).

Read about how “David Spares Saul” in 1 Samuel 24-28

TRI-10445529 - © - Helene Rogers

David Spares Saul’s Life

This is why it is important to develop emotional strength. I think for myself…this will be the area that I will be focusing on this year since I admit that I can be emotionally immature when dealing with certain kinds of people. I know that when I lived with my grandparents, I witnessed various forms of treachery that it developed in me a sense of taking justice into my own hands because I couldn’t stand to witness injustice. Thank God I never did because God doesn’t want us to do such things. He wants us to allow Him to take care of our enemies His Way, if only we just learn to TRUST HIM. This means….vengeance belongs to God and we have to step aside and let Him do His thing. That’s extreme humility and that’s what we all should develop if we want to be successful in Spiritual Warfare. We usually say things like “the Battle is not ours, it is the Lords” and yet some people take the battle into their own hands and suffer incredible losses because they refused to wait on God to take over and ensure victory. Defeat can be avoided when we yield to the power of the Holy Spirit, so for this year…people, develop emotional strength for the battles that you will face. I can sense that the war is heightening in intensity this year, so I urge all who are participating in the Fast to focus on building fortified walls of HUMILITY. God is your strength and shield, Amen!

Another thing that I want to say is that it’s one thing to be anointed, but it’s another to have the right mindset to handle the weight of it. Even so, God’s Grace is sufficient to meet the need as long as we remain humble. Humility is completely key this year. Also, from my own meditations, the one thing we must understand is that might and power won’t take us to the destination of our destinies. We can only reach our destinies through the power of the Holy Spirit. Not everyone has trained themselves to rely on the Spirit because they are too used to having faith built by their own hands, but if you want something to have “staying power”, you need to let the Holy Spirit build things His way so that whatever you try to build will not be shaken. Christ is the solid rock and He should be our foundation. So for those participating in the Daniel Fast, recognize that this Fast trains you to strengthen your Humility in order to be successful in your Spiritual Warfare. Humility takes you places…pride halts progress.

The Daniel Fast is also a form of Spiritual Warfare to receive answers and instructions from God so continue to meditate on God’s Word and keep it in your Heart when you encounter your battles this year.

I have a song to lift your Spirit up today called Grace sung by Bebe & Cece Winans. May this Song Bless your Spirit. God Bless you Everybody!

How Far is too Far?

Hi Everybody,

It’s nearly the weekend!!! Praise God!! 😀

Today is rather a short contemplation…hmmmm…maybe more of a question. I was thinking about how people do certain things that trail along the lines of compromise.

How Far is too Far?

I think that some people first ask themselves…. “How far can I go?” , before asking the first question I posed which is “How Far is too Far?”. I think to a large extent, we don’t seem to know how subtle compromise is in changing our minds about common moral standards  which are GODLY STANDARDS  that should be upheld in our conduct through our words, thoughts, actions and deeds.  When we fail to uphold Godly standards by compromising with the truth, we open doors to start believing in a lie(s).

Think about it…it’s like starting off by telling a “small ‘white’ lie” to yourself or another until you have to back it up with many “‘black’ lies”  (seriously, do lies even have a colour?)  to remain convincing, hoping that there is a shade of gray in this whole mess and then hopefully after having done that…you sell off this blatant lie as truth that it becomes soo customized that you yourself begin to believe in the very lie that you have contrived and put together on your own. This is called SELF-DECEPTION. I find this type of thing to be a scary activity that I have seen others participate in it on a regular basis.

Choosing to remain in denial of the truth is choosing to live a lie and believe it too.

This is how people develop a SEARED CONSCIENCE.

The attitudes of those I have witnessed to have such a seared conscience are rather cold and calculating…that the mere presence of them wreaks of evil.

Like I said in an earlier post…I’ve seen a lot of evil in my day… and what I can tell you is that having seen a person acting on a seared conscience….you can tell when what governs their hearts, their minds and their spirit is utter darkness throughout their conduct.

As Christians, we must be vigilant to keep our conscience clear.

Daily repentance shields us from believing that “gray areas” exist in regarding what is RIGHT and WRONG when the Bible is clear in its guidelines.

King David knew how to keep his conscience clear even though there were many instances where he was tempted to stray from the path of righteousness before God. King David acknowledged his weaknesses and refused to be in denial of his sinful actions especially after being reprimanded by Prophet Nathan over his sin of Adultery with Uriah’s wife Bethsheba. God loved David enough to warn him of his crime through a Prophet to give him a chance to change his ways. David took that chance and repented for his actions even though he reaped some of the things that he had sown because he wanted to keep remaining in right standing before God.

How many of us want to keep remaining in Right Standing with the Lord?

When we sin…we don’t offend the Bible…we offend GOD. However, not many people see it this way, even those that lack the reverential Fear of God will not even blink twice when they run quickly to do evil. This is totally my opinion, you can agree or disagree with it because you are entitled to your own opinion. This is just what I believe to be true.

My dear friends, we must not be deceived of the subtleties of compromise. We must remain vigiliant and stand up for the truth for what it is, even if the truth is unpopular to someone else or even if the truth in its own way offends ourselves. We have to stand for what is right at the end of the day. We cannot afford to sear our conscience….If we do….we will end up like King Saul who didn’t think twice to run quickly to evil. He even went as far as seeking advice from the adversary through the use of a medium rather than seeking God for answers towards what is true which indicates the repercussions for those that pursue a lifestyle that is perpetuated by believing in a lie; one quickly runs to evil for answers, seeking ‘a truth’ from an evil source which is falsehood; a lie; and an idea that is contrary to the truth. When we sear our conscience…we  not only start believing in a lie…but we ultimately start seeking how to live and perpetuate that lie to satisfy the desires of the flesh. King Saul’s life ended tragically as his soul was darkened by hatred and blood lust fueled by his arrogance and Pride that even God rejected him from being king of Israel and had replaced him with a humble-spirited young shepherd, little David, who maintained a lifestyle always in pursuit of Holiness while struggling with his weaknesses. David pleased God more than Saul ever did.

God abides with us in the Truth. Lies separate us from the Truth and inevitably we get separated from God if we choose to believe in a lie and nurture a contrary spirit that resists the truth and the workings of the HOLY SPIRIT, so heed this warning seriously.

Humility is key… so for those that are thinking “How far can I go?” and “How far is too far?”, I suggest that you stop thinking in this way…and start thinking “What is the right thing for me to do?”. When you contemplate on what is right…you pursue the truth and that is how we remain in right standing. Compromise subtly leads us astray, but when you remember this question:  What is the right thing for me to do?” you will be brought back on the right path that leaves no room for gray areas. Pursue the truth with much fear and trembling everybody and leave no room for self-deception to creep in, AMEN!

God bless you everybody!

It’s the HEART that counts!

Hi Everybody!

Is everybody enjoying their summer? Well, as we enjoy the weather let us not forget that we need to remain in prayer for the land that we live in. I’m sure some of you have heard of the Colorado fires going on in the US? The landslides in Uganda where those who lived in the slum have lost their homes, the summer drownings  that seem to be a seasonal thing that keeps happening in Ontario, Canada every year (Canadians need to learn to swim seriously 😦 ). There is so much going on in different parts of the world and we just need to remember to keep our nations in prayer, AMEN!

Ok so I have a video here today for us to contemplate on what we do and how we live before God’s measure of Faith. I said in a previous post a while ago that God doesn’t measure deeds, He measures our HEART. Man always looks at the outward appearance as a standard of good behaviour, but God always looks a our hearts. When you think of Saul – the people-pleaser in the Bible…you’ll recognize that his heart was always in the wrong place and was therefore rejected from being King by the Lord Himself, which consequentially offended him greatly and moved him to be filled with hatred and jealousy to God’s new Candidate David the little shepherd boy. David was exalted because his Heart was one of a true worshiper who worshiped in Spirit and in Truth and is always described as the man after God’s Heart. Even when David sinned against God, he repented with great remorse because he truly loved God and realized how much he had grieved the Lord with his sinful actions. It didn’t matter how faithful he was in deeds prior to his sin of adultery, because God was always looking at David’s heart. If we focus way too much on deeds without cultivating a heart of love in our actions walking in the spirit of truth and humility, then deeds alone don’t count for anything. Faith without Works is dead (James 2:14-26) as are works without faith and love are dead also. Faith and Works must be held together if we are to walk in Righteousness since the Just live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:16; Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:26; Hebrews 10:38).

1 Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”.

It’s amazing to see how deceived people can be when they think that deeds count for something more than the heart. JESUS is always looking at our hearts all the time. Let’s learn from the story about Ananias and Sapphira in the book of (Acts 5:1-11). Not every story has a happy ending and the story of Ananias and Sapphira is once such story. Their story is a warning for all believers to take God very seriously and to not think or consider lying to the Holy Spirit. God shall not be mocked.

We can try and fool people with self-righteousness and deeds but if we have not LOVE, then it is useless and we are most definitely operating in a false sense of humility. Such a display of  this false faith in action is nothing more but pride in action.

Love is an important character that we need to cultivate since AGAPE “God is Love” is the very character of God. I know for sure that the Holy Spirit shows me areas that I lack it, but I still make an effort to strive to love like Jesus did. I admit that there are individuals who rub me the wrong way sometimes and I’m sure we all do have some in our lives, but the most important thing is to always purpose to operate in love. True Humility operates in Love at all times and it is never self-seeking nor is it pretentious.

When I see others who operate with a high level of Love, I always get challenged because I’m thinking…”wow…you know this person is against you, but you still treat them with the utmost love that I find to be quite profound”. My Grandpa and Grandma are really good at displaying this type of love…and sometimes I think it’s over the top because there are some things that I consider to be things that really need to be addressed and called out on with regards to some people in their actions. However, I remain amazed at how they can still fellowship with all kinds of people especially their enemies and still maintain that spirit of love despite knowing what they are all about even in circumstances where these same people plot harm against the family.

Love is real when it is in action and Love can only grow through Faith. Faith is tied to LOVE. The more faith you have the more love you have. The more Godly love you have the more Faith you have. Faith and Love go hand in hand in God’s Hand.

For God so loved the world that He gave us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for us and for our sins so that whosoever believes in Him will not perish like Ananais and Sapphira did, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

It is clear to me that Ananias and Sapphira lacked faith and operated without the fear of God because the believed they could pretend humility in a self-seeking manner as a reaction to their jealousy toward their brother in Christ which is not characteristic of Agape-love at all.

As we learn from the grimm story of Ananias and Sapphira we must look back and ask ourselves what do we believe in? Do we believe in the powerful Love of our Lord Jesus Christ? Will we choose to operate in Love just like our Lord Jesus? or will we pretend humility and lie to the Holy Spirit?

When you have faith in God, you believe in His love that He has for you when you get saved; however, our faith in His love is demonstrated best when we love others in return as He has done for us as well. So Today, focus on increasing your capacity to love people as Christ loves the Church and all the people of the World. When you demonstrate your love, you show God that you have faith in Him.  God Expects us to do likewise in our conduct as He has done for us through His Son Jesus Christ at the Cross. Let’s think on purifying our Hearts so that we can Love people as God loves us and Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth rather than end up unfaithful and deceitful like Ananias and Sapphira. God shall not be mocked by self-righteousness so we must reverentially Fear Him as we walk by faith with fear and trembling ensuring that humility is our garment of Praise. Let’s renew our spirits and ask God to cleanse our hearts of anything that doesn’t resemble Godly love in character though our actions, thoughts and deeds, AMEN!

I have a song by Donnie McClurkin called Create in Me a Clean Heart. May it minister to your heart today. Have a Blessed day everybody!

Hold Fast Your Confession

19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

The Just Live by Faith

26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.

Hebrews 10:38
Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

1 Corinthians 13 (NKJV)

The Greatest Gift

13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Regrets

Hi Everybody,

Happy FRIDAY! Wow it’s already the third day of Summer and as you noticed I reblogged my summer survival kit for all those who need a few pointers to survive the heat. Keep cool and drink lots and lots of water. Don’t regret anything.

Todays devotional is about regrets. I know that I’ve done many things I regret but at the same time I have learned that it is more important to consider what I should have done differently had I a chance to turn things around. We shouldn’t mill around in self-pity when God can turn what was meant for evil for good when we choose to lean on His divine wisdom to get out of this mess. One thing we should never do is end up being in denial of the mess we make. It’s not a good thing to be in-denial of our own problems because that’s an area of pride that refuses to take responsibility for actions. I agree that some things are beyond our control and some things are based on irresponsible decisions that we make, but despite all of this we have the Holy Spirit in us to develop self-control. When we take ownership for our actions it is easier to reconcile with the Father when we come to Him with a contrite spirit that seeks forgiveness and assistance to set things back on course. Offence can derail us and self-condemnation arrests us, so it is important to seek God and repent of any area of weakness, failures and mistakes with honesty and with humility.

Psalm 34:18
The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

Psalm 51:17
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise

Isaiah 57:15
For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

God is so good in that even though we make many mistakes, He is still willing to work with us when we humble ourselves and recognize that “Oops…I made a mess of things. Please help me” because His love endures forever (Psalm 136 ). Ask for God’s help today and you’ll see turn arounds when you yield to His infinite wisdom. I know that for me some mistakes can’t be easily repaired overnight and somethings take time to heal but with whatever is impossible with us, with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). It is true that some things may end up as wounds, but God is able to heal the deepest crevices of our hearts even when they are broken. So today, Lean on God’s Love and ask Him for a divine turn around in your situation. God loves it when we ask Him for His help because He comes to us with open arms just like the father that greeted his prodigal son that sqwandered his inheritance and came back seeking his fathers forgiveness. In the same way, Let God greet you with Open arms as you return to Him in HUMILITY.He will robe you in His righteousness as you seek to connect with him and remain in right standing together with the Lord as your covering. May this video bless you Everybody!

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

The Parable of the Lost Son

1Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood. 13 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. 14 But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. 15 Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.

17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”’

20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring[a] out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.

25 “Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. 27 And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.’

28 “But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him. 29 So he answered and said to his father, ‘Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends. 30 But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.’

31 “And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. 32 It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.’”
