Every Praise is Due Our God

Happy Saturday Everybody!

I just want to post this song by Hezekiah Walker called Every Praise. Praise comes from a heart filled with gratitude, appreciation and love. When parents tell a child “well done you did great” 🙂 , the child feels good inside because they know that they are being acknowledged, appreciated and loved by their parents. In the same way, we need to Praise our God so that He knows that He too is acknowledged, appreciated and loved because He first loved us. When you are filled with gratitude and love for another, you don’t take the other person for granted when you give them praise. Even in marital relationships, I find that women need to know that their husband loves them by simply saying it “I love you”, and men need to know that they are appreciated by their wives by them giving praise for working hard and doing a good job for the things they do for the familial unit.

The less praise we give to each other, the more we take God and people who are with us everyday for granted. The same thing applies to every relationship we have with our colleagues, friends, siblings and our peers. Dissatisfaction in any relationship is based on how we communicate our love, gratitude and acknowledgement of each other as people and the same applies with God.  Some people realize too late what they had until it’s gone. You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.  Don’t take God’s presence in your life for granted. Give Him praise, because in His presence there is liberty, there is joy and there is love, Amen!

Psalm 16:11 [Full Chapter]

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

I Pray that this Song blesses your spirit today. God Bless You everybody! Love ya 😀

Heaven’s Anthem

Hi Everybody!

I apologize for not having posted anything for a while. I’ve been quite busy with so many things going on. Can you believe it’s almost the end of 2014???? I mean we are in the 11th month and so much has happened. I’m planning to leave the country for a lengthy trip soon and I anticipate that so much will transpire on my trip. I’ve been on preparation mode for it and at the same time I just wanted to drop a line and say a few words of encouragement and prophesy to y’all today.

The next four months including the month of November will be a transitional season for many of you. Where you are right now has been the preparation stage for unlocking the door of your “calling” in your life. It may appear to you that not much seems to be happening, but do not be deceived by your natural eyes. God has watched you tilling the ground and has watched you work the fields to cultivate your giftings that will launch you into the next level of your life. You must remember that operating in your calling demands that you walk a supernatural path (a path less traveled). This Supernatural path requires you to pray different, dream different, act different, fast, speak and move differently from the average Christian. Prepare your mind to receive new associations, networks and mentors that will groom you into new areas of leadership and stewardship as you tap into your calling. The emphasis I have been prodded by God about for the past few months is His concern for the people of God has been about “Activation of Calling”.

What must you do now? Pray and concern yourself with God’s agenda in this season. Every breakthrough you receive or should I say want to receive will only be given to you and I do mean ONLY be given to you while you are about Your Father’s Business. Focus on growth and analyze your weaknesses so that you can turn those weaknesses into strengths. Going to church doesn’t mean you are being activated into your calling. Mere attendance is not enough, you have to go out and do something with respect to advancing God’s agenda on the earth in your life. Your weaknesses do not determine nor limit you from God’s prescribed outcome for your life which is to prosper you and be in good health as your soul prospers (Jeremiah 29:11). Your Faith in action is what will determine your outcome.

Learn from the Past, Respect your Present, and Appreciate and Look forward to your Future. You serve a God that knows your past, present and future so understand that all of these timelines are important for you to note so that you will know what to do in the days yet to come.  If you don’t learn from your past, you will make mistakes in your present that can hinder you from God’s prescribed future. Focus on doing things that you haven’t tapped into before in order to move to the next stage. And Yes, that means getting outside of your comfort zone. The consequence of remaining in your comfort zone is Insanity and death. Insanity is doing what you’ve done before and still expecting a different result. God doesn’t work with insane people since death is at the end of that cycle.God only works with those who are up to the challenge of growing from their past mistakes and still having the end goal in mind. God is about life-giving (growth and prosperity) and not about death-sentence making (insanity, conviction). You must do things that attract life-giving growth in your life and choose not to participate in activities with a death-giving purpose to your destiny. Do not be complacent and self-focused, you must be God-centered and purpose-driven focused.

Encouragement: God has given you all the ingredients you need to be successful. The moment you became Born-Again, you achieved your overcomer status. Faith is what causes you to Overcome. Circumstances around you are not powerful enough that you are unable to overcome them. When you Believe and Trust God, Nothing at all in your life will become impossible for you because your mind has been transformed and renewed to be more like Christ. Remember in Whom you have believed.

1 John 5:4 – For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.

Mark 9: 23 – Jesus said unto him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.

If you are lost and don’t know how to move into this season, then it means that who you are hanging out with in your current state, is at the same if not lower level than you. You must go out and pursue associations with people better than you if you want to escape your current condition. You must learn to humble yourself before those who have the necessary ideas, tools, and networks that can take you from your current level to the next higher level for your life. Do not despise your mentors, and remember to have an attitude of gratitude in all things that you do. How you treat people right now will determine whether or not you will fast-track into your calling tomorrow. Be mindful of this and seek wisdom above all else.

Knowledge must always be accompanied with wisdom for wisdom is what will preserve your destiny and protect your future. Seek it like Gold and Silver. Remain determined and develop a spirit of tenacity to not back down or give up until you have achieved your desired end result. AMEN 😀

To end this post, I have a video by Dan Stevers called Heaven’s Anthem. May this video bless your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody 🙂

Worship Sunday: Clean this House

Hi Everybody,

Happy Thanksgiving Canada!

I just want to thank God for all that He has done in my life and I just adore Him. When you remember the mess you were before Christ and then remember how you felt when you received Christ, there’s something that happens in you that makes you never want to go back to the same place you were before you knew Him. Sometimes we forget all that He has done, and it’s time to really refocus on our relationship with Him and seek God to purify our hearts. If we want to live a life filled with gratitude, we must constantly seek God to clean the houses of our hearts. We must rekindle the torch that makes us so passionate about Christ in the first place.

Today I’m putting up a song from Isaach Carree called Clean this House. We go through many trials that when we remember how God brought us out of them and forgiving us over and over we become really grateful for the saving Grace that God has for us. May this song minister your spirit today!

Matthew 5:8

Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

God Bless You Everybody!

Worship Weekend: Oceans

Hi everybody!

There is this song that’s in my spirit right now that I have to share and it’s from Hillsongs United called Oceans. I love it! I heard it at a youth conference being held in my church called Dunamis 2013.

The Youth are on fire and I find it a great joy to see youth so hungry for their Savior. God is doing a new thing with all of them that seek His face with all they’ve got in a world that’s saturated with compromise and non-God standard ways of doing things.

God is the Standard, and the voices that cry out His name in a world that tries to shut them up, will be the strongest ones that will be generals in this day. I have faith to believe that God is opening up a way in which the now generation is being built with a sword in one hand and a brick in another; born consecrated with the Word as their testimony and empowered to empower with the bricks they have in their other hand to build a strong foundation of faith in the ones that need to be empowered with the TRUTH.  The road of consecration is not an easy one, but it’s for those that will stand through many trials and testing that will see God’s glory be revealed.

Sometimes we can’t fathom how awesome God is in our lives until you see Him move mountains in your life. Right now so many things in my life have shifted that I am literally in awe of what God has done and is still doing. May this song uplift your spirit today as you think of the things that God has done for you as you practice having an attitude filled with gratitude.

God Bless You Everybody!

Sunday Mornings: Keepin’ it Together

Hi Everybody!

 Happy Monday!

I know, not many people enjoy the start of the work week, but it is another day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it, AMEN! Honestly, I felt like a brick when I woke up this morning. Sometimes, I wonder how I got to work this morning. So today’s post is going to be one filled with Humor for those that suffer Monday blues. In a way no one should be experiencing Monday blues because Tuesday comes right after Monday and no one complains about Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, but everybody has a way of Praising God for Fridays, myself included 😉 lol :D. Some people wish they had a job just like you so change your perspective about each day and give the Lord Praise! So to pep you up this morning I have two videos just to give you a smile and keep you feeling like Monday is a blessed day indeed. May they minister to you today and God bless you everybody!

Scriptures to Meditate

Psalm 113: 1-3

Praise the Lord!

Praise, O servants of the Lord,
Praise the name of the Lord!
Blessed be the name of the Lord
From this time forth and forevermore!
From the rising of the sun to its going down
The Lord’s name is to be praised.

Psalm 122:1-9

The Joy of Going to the House of the Lord

A Song of Ascents. Of David.

122 I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go into the house of the Lord.”
Our feet have been standing
Within your gates, O Jerusalem!

Jerusalem is built
As a city that is compact together,
Where the tribes go up,
The tribes of the Lord,
To the Testimony of Israel,
To give thanks to the name of the Lord.
For thrones are set there for judgment,
The thrones of the house of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.
Peace be within your walls,
Prosperity within your palaces.”
For the sake of my brethren and companions,
I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
Because of the house of the Lord our God
I will seek your good.

Miracles: Entrusting the Delicate in God’s Hands

Hi Everybody!

I was thinking about what I should write about today and started to read some inspirational stories and one of them that I read today is called Open the Rose.  Have a read.

              OPEN THE ROSE

A young, new preacher was walking with an older, more seasoned preacher in the garden one day and feeling a bit insecure about what God had for him to do, he was inquiring of the older preacher. The older preacher walked up to a rosebush and handed the young preacher a rosebud and told him to open it without tearing off any petals.

The young preacher looked in disbelief at the older preacher and was trying to figure out what a rosebud could possibly have to do with his wanting to know the WILL OF GOD for his life and for his ministry. Because of his high respect for the older preacher, he proceeded to TRY to unfold the rose, while keeping every petal intact…It wasn’t long before he realized how it was impossible to do so.

Noticing the younger preacher’s inability to unfold the rosebud while keeping it intact, the older preacher began to tell the following poem…

It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of GOD’s design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.
The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so sweetly,
When in my hands they fade and die.
If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of GOD’s design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?
So I’ll trust in Him for His leading
Each moment of every day.
I will look to Him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.
The pathway that lies before me,
Only my heavenly Father knows.
I’ll trust Him to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.

After reading this I thought to myself that many a time in our lives we often try to manage that which should be handled with the Divine.
When you think of how God works intricately in the fine details of our lives, the most important factor to any outcome is based on our measure of Faith.
In the same way where God says to us that those who are trusted with little can be trusted with much, He too is in this equation. If we can trust God with little, we should be able to trust Him for much, but how often do we allow God to function in the fine details of our lives? We in a way have a natural tendency to rely a lot on our human capacity to rationalize things and reason, but when we think of areas that require miracles…what room does rationality and reason play in such instances?
I think to some extent we no longer seek miracles because we are too busy trying to work out everything within our human limitations and capabilities even if they become done in vain. However, when our limitations are fully realized we then turn to God for miracles.
I feel that each day is a miracle and that when you start to thank God for every little victory you had in your day like for example, you needed something to work and function properly at work and for some reason…your computer starts acting up….pray for God to intervene…and poof voila…God starts making it work for you… (Disclaimer: I’m not saying that this happens all the time… this is a hypothetical example of your faith in action to seek God in this fictitious example).
Now it’s easy to forget to say “THANK YOU” in such instances because we just see it as a technical error…but if you prayed and then it started working…God must get the Glory even for such a small matter. I know that I have issues sometimes with technology and I pray for God to intervene…and let me tell you, it works people, but that’s all dependent on whether or not you can even trust God for even the minor details of your lives. It’s easy to explain it away as a technical glitch and ignore how God had a role to play to make it work…but that’s where we need to repent and give God honor where honor is due. You can’t claim miracles that were divine in nature to be your own doing when GOD divinely intervened by your faith in action through prayer.
This is how we drown out God in the fine details of our lives. We cannot afford to be this ungrateful to our Father God. Praise Him, Thank Him and INCLUDE HIM in all that you do. He is Sovereign and if you want Him to be Lord over your life… include Him in the minor details. You’ll always have a reason to give Him praise after that. He will feel moved to bless you more and more when you remember the name of the LORD.
The question is….where, what and whom are you putting our trust in????
Psalm 20:7
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
What I’m trying to say today is that… learn to trust God for little so that you can cultivate an attitude that is receptive to even larger and greater miracles yet to come in your life.
When you thank Him for the small stuff…it won’t be hard to give Him glory for even the big things. God is your beginning and the end of each day….so thank and praise Him every chance you get. The more you do this…the more you will start to see GOD operating in your life and in even in the minute details of your life. Some people lay in wait for big miracles to see God…but I’m telling you that miracles are happening everyday….but you have to consider the small ones first so that you can appreciate the big ones when they start to arrive at your address.
God loves to walk and talk with people all the time….but are we inclined to do the same?
We tune Him out of our lives very often when we try to manage everything in our limited human capacities and levels of understanding. If you want to understand God, allow Him in the minor details of your life so that you can see Him in the major details of your life. Don’t expect Big things from the Lord when you can’t even expect for Him to be present in something small. Consider that you reading this today is a miracle because you have eyes to see whereas a percentage of the population in this world is blind.
Food for thought. Marinate in this thought Today.
I have a song to minister to you today from  Marvin Sapp called Lift those Hands. May it bless you today everybody!

The Heart of Gratitude

I was thinking a lot for the things that I am grateful for when I looked at the things that others do not have. It is easy to become jealous of others blessings and totally miss the fact that what we currently have is more than what others have by a large percentage. This is all about changing our perspective on life to see things in a different light when we walk in that path of Humility. I would definitely recommend reading Tarisai’s post regarding the subject of Wisdom in Humility: Defining Real Humility to get some background on what it is so that you understand why it is needed to cultivate a heart of Gratitude. He uses a window-mirror analogy that speaks volumes of how we see ourselves when faced with a problem. Which side of the coin are we sitting on?

We have to explore having a heart filled with Gratitude for even the smallest of things but it is typically the smallest of things that make the largest difference.

Let’s start with something fundamental such as poverty. How many of us are actually grateful that we even have a roof over our heads? You are rich if you have a $1.00 bill or coin in your pocket because there are countries in this world that live below $1.00 by a large margin.  In Bolivia, it was reported in 2009 that  30.3% of people live below the poverty line living with only USD$2.00/day or less. In Canada (2008) we have 9.4% of people that live below the poverty line; the USA has 15.1%  in 2010; Trinidad and Tobago at 17%  in 2007; the Gaza strip (2009) has 70% ; Liberia is 80%  in the year 2000; Malawi at 53% in 2004; Mozambique at 70% in 2001; Nicaragua at 48% in 2005 and the list goes on. I think you get my point now.

We can look at different stats using UN reports and many other sources but what I’m driving at here is that we have a tendency to overlook the things we currently have and grumble at our neighbours for possessing the latest new gaget we don’t have or the new car that they just bought and forget that we truly have it better than most in this world.  When will we get to that point where we stop with the mindless ingratitude and Thank GOD for what we have? We obviously have to shift our FOCUS.

My Grandparents always taught me that the two most important phrases you must learn in this life are Please and Thank You.

Gratitude is not just a word of thanks but it’s also an attitude.

It’s very easy to miss opportunities if we grumble and look jealously at our peers for what they have in comparision to what we have. This includes when we receive things from others; you may not always get the things that you want because you could be receiving things that you need and it is easy to despise the gift that is given if we are driven by desire rather than necessity.  I am speaking yet again from experience in that I have seen people given priviledges that are not necessarily deserved and they abuse the gifts that they receive because of that heart of ingratitude. Why do people start to appreciate what they have once it is taken away from them? It’s because they failed to understand that a heart of gratitude is an attitude that appreciates everything and doesn’t take even the smallest of things for granted. People lose out on this principle in all walks of life.

Ask yourself when was the last time you said “Thank You“?

I believe saying “Thank You” should be a daily affair whether you’re Christian or not. You should practice just that small phrase each day if you want to cultivate a heart of Gratitude. Stop looking to the left and to the right and look at what is right in front of you. Shift your Focus off others and FOCUS on yourselfMany people miss this because they have a grumbling attitude that doesn’t see anything apart from what they “wished” they could have instead of looking at what they “already” have.

Thank God that I could live to see another day when the last second could have been somebody elses last breath in this life; Thank God I have a roof over my head while I reflect on others that have no shelter; Thank God I have a car even though there are those that don’t have one and are forced to walk many miles to get to work and back; Thank God I can afford to buy food while others don’t even know if what they have is their last meal; Thank God for every day, hour, minute, second and every moment that you have in this life because I know that for everything that is given, I know that even such things can be taken away so I Thank God for everything I have each day. You don’t have to be Christian to be thankful, you just have to be thankful period. Fill your cup with GRATITUDE and Don’t take life for Granted.   Ask yourself, what have you filled in your cup…is it Jealousy or Gratitude????

Life is a priviledge, it is not a RIGHT.  – OOooohhh I see wide eyes staring back at me with bewilderment. “How can you say that SHERLINE!!!!!!”

When you start to change your perspective on even the basic of things, you will learn what to be thankful for. Remember that you don’t have to be here on this earth right now, but something higher than yourself is allowing you to survive another day. For me it is God, for you…what could it be?

Do NOT be envious of others for what they have.

People can get so caught up with competing with their neighbour that they often breed an attitude of greed and lust(envy and want). You must also consider the ways in which people receive and obtain what they have.  Does the person have what they have through honest means or deceitful means? Think about it. Would you like to be jealous of the rich man that happened to trick his clients out of their entire lifesavings  in order to buy his Condo in Hawaii, or the man who murdered his brother because he wanted his wife, or the girl you stole a Coach brand bag from a presitgious store to look stylish? I know these examples seem extreme but if you knew how people obtained their possessions, would it change your heart of jealousy?

Also, I think that people shouldn’t be envious of those that prosper by honest means. You don’t know if that person will be the connection in your life that you will need to whom will have the means to help you in your time of trouble. If you treat people who are blessed or possess more than you with disdain, you in fact close the door of a future opportunity. Notice how I said YOU close the door.  Ask yourself, how many doors have you closed because of your ungrateful and jealous attitude?

I also want to make something clear here…there is nothing wrong about yearning for something that someone else has but if that yearning turns into jealousy that’s where you’ve got to stop and seriously do some soul-searching and self-reflections regarding your desires. I spoke about differentiating between a want and a need in a different post which ties in to this whole concept of Gratitude. Having a heart of gratitude is an attitude that nutures an overall appreciation of the priviledges you have in this life. You must get away from thinking you deserve things all the time and start seeing things as priviledges more than a right. We should avoid hoarding even the things we do have because the purpose of having stuff  is in order to enable us to give in the first place and to also produce more of what we have. It is more blessed to give than to recieve (Acts 20:35; Matthew 13:12).

Look at what Paul had to say to the Elders at Ephesus:

Acts 20: 32 – 35

32 “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. 33 I have coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel. 34 Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me. 35 I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” (Emphasis added).

Having a heart of gratitude changes how we view what we have. We must view our possessions as gifts that enables us to help others that do not have what we possess. Also, don’t think only of just possessions, but think of the health that you have…someone else could be battling cancer and you aren’t…what will you do to comfort another? Also…do not laugh at others who are disadvantaged…..because if you do…you might end up in their position one day and therefore, you reverse the blessings in your life with that attitude and open up doors to disadvantages in your life. Be careful how you treat others and guard your tongue, guard your heart, and learn to be Thankful. Practice it everyday until it becomes a second-nature attitude and a permanent character.
