Let God Direct Your Path

Hi Everybody!
I’m back from vacation and I  just wanted to give praise to God for making it the best I’ve ever had in a long while. Three weeks away from the noise and the distractions in my life have led me to feel so rejuvenated that I feel convinced that this year will be an amazing, dynamic, transforming and innovative year.

Everything from this point on is based on perspective. As I was praying to God during my holidays, the Holy Spirit showed me that a lot of things we go through in life are based on one of two perspectives; (1) It’s either we do things or experience things from our own perspective; or (2) we view our circumstances from God’s perspective.

Ask yourself, in light of where you are right now, how are you seeing your world? Is your world view coming from your short-sighted carnal lens? Or are you allowing God to help you see clearly using His set of supernatural lenses?

The way in which you perceive your world today is the way in which you will choose to function in it.

Most of our reactions to situations are based on our perception of a situation. If you have a negative view of things, you will function with that negative under-tone in all that you do. If you have a positive view of the world, then you will function with that positive tone in all that you do. Many a time, we like to take things into our own hands and do things our own way, but lately, God has been showing me that it’s time we give the Holy Spirit some room to function in our lives since it is not by might, nor by power, but by His Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).

Today’s post comes from a contemplation of this scripture from:
Proverbs 3:6 – In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

How many of us take the time to pray before we make a decision about something which even includes even the smallest of things in your tasks (i.e. shopping)? Many people want to hear from the Holy Spirit but they don’t want to include the Holy Spirit in their daily affairs. The Holy Spirit talks to us everyday, but it is up to us to take the time to make room for Him to voice His instructions. If you want to learn to hear from the Holy Spirit, you will have to learn to obey Him when he instructs you to do something. This is how you sharpen your hearing to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to YOU the Church of Jesus Christ. When you give room for the Holy Spirit to speak you will increase in your spiritual discernment and sensitivity towards the things of the spirit.

In this particular year of Divine Grace, you will have to quicken your spirit to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying. Many of your struggles right now are based on acts of disobedience and lack of attention to the Holy Spirit’s voice. It may sound hard to believe, but you sit down and do an inventory of your actions and ask yourself how many times did you consult or take the time to pray before deciding to take a course of action? Be honest with yourself. In fact, I’ll be the first to put my hand up and confess that there were times that I leaped into something head first without consulting the Lord on whether or not my decision was the right course of action to take and only discovered my mistakes after-the-fact. You don’t want to move in that level of mediocrity this year.

Don’t strive to build things with your own hands (Might and Power) without consulting with the Holy Spirit this year. If you do things like that, you will be actually working against yourself and you will indeed labour in vain. The Holy Spirit wants to guide you in the right direction which requires your ability to remain attentive, patient, and obedient. If you cannot master your ability to listen and obey to simple instructions, then you will block yourself from receiving instructions that could lead you to greener pastures.

Our perception of obedience must be changed in order to move away from doing things from our own will and actively pursuing God’s will. God’s will for your life is to prosper as your souls prospers, but if  you aren’t taking the time to pay attention to him, you might just “miss the mark” Also consider that “missing the mark” is also defined as “sin“.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soulprospers.

For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.”’

This should be your goal this year. Make it a point to seek God’s face this year and learn to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will guide you to people that will either show you the answer, be the answer or are a sign that you are heading in the right direction.  Learn to humble yourself and expect that your answers will come from the least likely of sources so do not judge prejudicially a book by its cover.

You want to prosper? Then focus on letting your ego step aside for a moment and give more room for the Holy Spirit to take over in your daily affairs. The more room you give to  allow the Holy Spirit to function in your life, the more you will be able to grow spiritually sensitive to hear God’s voice and incline your ears to instructions. You will avoid so much strife by learning to humble yourself to take heed to the Holy Spirit’s voice.

Some of you maybe asking, how do I hear from Him? You must first immerse yourself in the Word (the Bible) in order to know when the Lord is speaking to you. If you don’t know any of His Word, then how can you expect to learn to hear and recognize His voice in the first place?

A great analogy would be when you listen to a familiar song on the radio and you immediately know who sang the song and what the lyrics are to that song. How were you able to know who was singing if you didn’t read the lyrics, familiarize or meditate on the song? You wouldn’t be able to without doing those things, so in the same way, God instructs us to meditate on the Word of God Day and Night and to not have this Word depart from our mouths so that when we incline our ears to understanding we will be able to recognize the Holy Spirit’s voice. Make this your goal this year and seek God with all your heart, soul, and mind. God Bless your everybody.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

[ A Book of Remembrance ] Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

This song that I’m posting is one that I have posted before from Hillsongs United called Oceans. May this song bless your spirit today. 🙂

In Thy Name

God's NameHi Everybody,

Hope y’all are having a blessed weekend. Today, I want to post a video called “Thy Name”.

The questions I have for your meditation today are:

Do you know who God is? Who is God to you?

Many people assume that they do many good works in His Name which make them stellar Christians in the eyes of people, but unfortunately, these same people ignore the voice of the Father (through the Holy Spirit) when He gives direction which is an act of DISOBEDIENCE.

If you are one of those that say “I have never heard the Lord say….” or “The Holy Spirit doesn’t speak to me…”, then You need to re-evaluate how you perceive yourself before the Father.

You need to have a revelation of who God is to you in order to hear what He is saying to  you in order for you to be who God wants you to be…and that is to be His child.

148663_10152093485351832_2085451673_nChildren of God are Children of obedience. Obedience is cultivated by a trust relationship. You need to Trust in the Father as the Father also has need to Trust in you.  Trust is built on Faith, and Faith comes by Hearing, and Hearing by the Word of the Lord (Romans 10:17).

Do you Trust God enough to Hear Him? Sometimes our Pride can cause us to be deaf to the Holy Spirit, but when we humble ourselves before Him and pray and seek His face, that is when we truly begin to Hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to “Us” the Church as little children (Revelation 2:7, 11, 17,29; Revelations 3:6, 13, 22).

You know the saying that goes…“When the student is ready, the master will appear”. Well, in our case…it’s different. In our case it is

“When YOU, the Child of God is ready, the Father will appear”.

Are you ready to be what you were predestined to be?

As Jesus is the Great Shepherd, He tells us that “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”  (John 10:27).

In order to follow Jesus, we must be willing to hear what the Spirit of the Lord wants us to hear.

God speaks to us everyday in so  many different ways. Do not put God in a box with your way of thinking. Learn to soften your heart and become sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. You can do this by meditating on the Word and acting on it by faith. When you reach out to the Father by faith, He will extend His hand to you. It’s all in His Word. He is not a man that He should lie. So reach out to Him today and learn to Hear from Him when He calls you by Name.

Scriptures to Meditate on:

Psalm 73:28

But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, That I may declare all Your works.
Ecclesiastes 5:1

Fear God, Keep Your Vows ] Walk prudently when you go to the house of God; and draw nearto hear rather than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they do evil.
James 4:8

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purifyyour hearts, you double-minded.
Numbers 23:19

“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Obedience Leads to Promise and fulfillment of DESTINY

Hello Everybody!

So today I was just doing a meditation in the book of Hebrews and read something that jumped at me.

It’s in Hebrews 3: 16-19

Failure of the Wilderness Wanderers

16 For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? 17 Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Have you ever questioned why some people haven’t been receiving the full promises of God in their lives? Sometimes as we wait we can do one of two things during the waiting period for our promises.

1.) We can wait in Faith.  Believing is Seeing.

2.) We can wait in Unbelief. Seeing is not Believing.

In the passage above God tells us why the majority of the Children of Israel were unable to enter into the Promised Land.  The promised land is a place of destiny. If you are wondering why some people cannot reach their full potential, it’s because they have certain *character traits* that hinder them from reaching their places of DESTINY. In the passage above we discover that there were particular traits that prohibited the Children of Israel from entering their promised land.

1. They were rebellious (v. 16);

2. They had sinned (v. 17);

3. They were disobedient (v. 18); and

4. They were unbelievers of GOD’s WORD. (v. 19)

The Character traits listed above are what will prevent us from reaching our places of destiny if we choose to be Rebellious, Sinful, disobedient and unbelieving in the Word of God.

Folks, we cannot afford to be like that with the things that God wants to give us in our lifetime. We must seriously learn to walk by Faith and NOT by Sight because Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen (Hebrews 11:1).  So today I challenge you, analyze yourself and REPENT of any areas that exhibit the four traits listed here that are hindering you from receiving the promises of God in your life. Prosperity is your portion, but if you don’t even believe that…then you have to repent for Trait number 4 (UNBELIEF).

How you reach your destiny is determined by how you exercise your FAITH.

Destiny is always tied to FAITH.

The only thing that aborts Destiny is UNBELIEF.

This is just a short meditation today so I hope this blesses you. God bless you everybody and keep believing until you see God in your situations. God has your Jeremiah 29:11 promises for you so hold on to that truth and remain steadfast and Believe in that TRUTH.

So now that we know the Truth lets us rejoice in it. I have a song by Hezekiah Walker and LFC called Let’s Dance. Be Blessed EVERYBODY!

Tapping into Divine Wisdom: The Reverential Fear of God

For the past few days I’ve been feeling the need to speak on the reverential fear of the the Lord. We must understand that God is a Holy God. We are all unworthy to come before His presence because of how Holy He Truly is, but through Jesus we are able to commune with the Almighty one. No one can come to the Father except through the Son. This is how HOLY God is but I don’t believe that people have fully grasped what it means to go before a Holy God. Ask yourself what does it mean to be in the Presence of a HOLY God?

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

The Holiness of God is such that it is sooo powerful that our human container (our physical bodies) can’t handle the Holiness of God. It is so powerful that it can crush us and that is why when we speak of “Seeking His Face” we have to go from strength to strength to handle The Holiness of God as we learn to increase from Faith to Faith to see God working in our lives. It takes a measure of Faith for us to see what I would term “glimpses of God” because we cannot handle the fullness of God’s Glory.

So how do we learn to Revere a God that is so Holy?

Let me just say that the fear of God that I speak of isn’t some unhealthy fear that causes us to be bound up and paralyzed from doing or acting on something. By all means learn to take initiatives to step out and do things that you’ve never done before. That is what Faith is about! The fear of God that I speak of is in respect to the relationship between having UNDERSTANDING with WISDOM to do the RIGHT THING and LIVE the RIGHT WAY.

It says in the Word that:

Psalm 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

The Fear of God provides us with the Benefits of Wisdom and Understanding to do His Will in our lives, but how many of us Fear God enough to obey Him when He tells us to do something? We have the free will factor to choose between doing things GOD’s way or doing things OUR way which is foolishness to God.

Isaiah 55:8
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.

Our levels of wisdom are limited and that is why we must learn to Fear GOD because HE is our PROVIDER of Wisdom that leads us to do things with purpose, direction, and with a promise that assures that our obedience in Him will lead to prosperity according to the Jeremiah 29:11 promise. However, we as people can be hard headed and become ignorant and arrogant and do things that may seem right to us at the time, but later reap the repercussions of our disobedience.

There are benefits to reverencing our Lord as there are repercussions to the lack of Fear in God which I will outline here:

1.) Those who Fear God will cause others to believe in God.

1 Samuel 12:14
If you fear the LORD and serve Him and obey His voice, and do not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then both you and the king who reigns over you will continue following the LORD your God.

2.) Those who Fear God will be rescued from their enemies schemes.

2 Kings 17:39
But the LORD your God you shall fear; and He will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies.”

3.) Those who Fear God will be safe and remain safe.

Proverbs 29:25
The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.

4.) The Fear of God keeps people from continuing to SIN.

Job 28:27- 28

27 Then He saw wisdom[a] and declared it;He prepared it, indeed, He searched it out.
28 And to man He said,‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom,
And to depart from evil is understanding.

5.) The Fear of God is Pure and is filled with Truth.

Psalm 19:9
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

6.) Those who Fear God will be revealed prophetic revelations and will be revealed of His promises in their lives.

Psalm 25:14
The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant.

7.) Those who Fear God are blessed when they follow by Faith and walk in His Word in OBEDIENCE.

Psalm 128:1
[ Blessings of Those Who Fear the LORD ] A Song of Ascents. Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways.

8.) Those who Fear God receive divine wisdom and knowledge when they take heed to God’s instructions by following His Word and Trusting in Him.

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

9.) The Fear of God prolongs a persons Life.

Proverbs 10:27
The fear of the LORD prolongs days, But the years of the wicked will be shortened.

Proverbs 14:27
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death.

10.) Those that Fear God walk Humbly and are Honored in their Humility and Wisdom.

Proverbs 15:33
The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility.

11.) The Fear of God provides safety and confidence because you know in whom you Believe.

Proverbs 14:26
In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge.

12.) Those that Fear God Obey His Voice and His Word.

Haggai 1:12
[ The People’s Obedience ] Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him; and the people feared the presence of the LORD.

13.) A Church that Fears God PROSPERS!

Acts 9:31
[ The Church Prospers ] Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.

When you read these benefits, it makes you wonder why the current state of the world is in chaos and confusion. It is because people have not learned to FEAR GOD and follow HIS WORD. When a nation Fears God, the people of that Nation are blessed and this goes vice versa, when a Nation does NOT Fear GOD, the People suffer.

The consequences of not Fearing God is like asking for a removal of His Jeremiah 29:11 promise of Blessing on your life. This is quite serious folks. If people don’t learn to Fear God in the sense of seriously BELIEVING HIS WORD, we liken ourselves to SAUL’s attitude which was one of REBELLION (the same level of sin as witchcraft). We all know what happened to Saul right? The Spirit of GOD LEFT SAUL and entered into DAVID who was a man of God who reverenced the LORD enough to take out a GOLIATH when no one else would.

1 Samuel 18:12
Now Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, but had departed from Saul.

Saul ended up demonized and was going insane. This is what happens when the presence of God leaves our lives. We are left vulnerable when we continue to remain in disobedience, faithless, and rebellious to God’s Word in our Lives. Therefore, Fearing God, the Giver of all blessings, all wisdom, all knowledge and power is the only way we are assured of Divine preservation and prosperity.

We must understand that those that DO NOT FEAR GOD are:

1.) Rebellious.

1 Samuel 15: 23-25

23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,
He also has rejected you from being king.

24 Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. 25 Now therefore, please pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the Lord.”

2.) Cursed.

1 Samuel 16:14
[ A Distressing Spirit Troubles Saul ] But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the LORD troubled him.

Deuteronomy 28:15 -19

15 “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

16 “Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.

17 “Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.

18 “Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.

19 “Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.

[Please read the rest of the curses in this chapter of Deuteronomy 28:20-68 for there is a huge list, but I’m sure you get the point]

3.) Faithless, Sinful and always troubled.

Proverbs 15:16
Better is a little with the fear of the LORD, Than great treasure with trouble.

4.) They that lack the Fear of God Call forth Judgment in their Lives.

Malachi 3:5
And I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness Against sorcerers, Against adulterers, Against perjurers, Against those who exploit wage earners and widows and orphans, And against those who turn away an alien— Because they do not fear Me,” Says the LORD of hosts.

5.)  They are full of PRIDE, they are Liars and are children of DISOBEDIENCE.

1 John 2:4
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Colossians 3:6
Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience

Ephesians 5:6
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

I know that this post is very different from many of my earlier posts because I feel so strongly on this subject at this time that I feel led to touch on this touchy subject. It may not be something someone wants to read, but it has to be said. Folks, many of the curses I read in Deuteronomy 28 are actually going on right now in certain countries right now if you analyze them. What’s also interesting about this chapter is that it first lists the blessings, but the curses took a whole chunk of that chapter because let me tell you that there is a heavy price to pay in the lack of Fearing God. I’m not trying to be scary here but I feel that this needs to be addressed. For each time we try to take God out of our lives, curses keep entering our lives…we open the doors for such things to happen. God doesn’t want to see people suffer, that’s why His will is for all to Have LIFE and have it more ABUNDANTLY!

John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

We can only have abundant life when we Fear the ONE who GIVES LIFE!

Today reflect on where you are in your relationship with God. Ask yourself, do  you sincerely FEAR GOD? Are there areas where your conscience is cold to the truth of what you ought to be doing? Do you value the Holiness of God? IF so, how? If Not, why?

Ask yourselves these questions and understand that the Fear of the LORD is the beginning of ALL wisdom so if people are praying for Wisdom in this life, you can’t have wisdom without the Fear of God. The Fear of God is connected to Wisdom because He is the One who provides for it. It goes hand in hand in God’s Hand. Be wise and learn to reverence the Lord your God so that He can say that I will be Your God and You will be my People.

To finish off, I have a Lovely Song that I was actually listening to the whole time I was writing up this post. It’s by Byron Cage and the song is called Royalty. Trust me when I say this Song will bless your heart. Enjoy it and may it minister to you. GOD Bless you everybody!

Stepping out into New Territory

I remember that when I was a kid living in Kenya, I think I was about 10 or 11 years old,  there was a school day- trip to the Great Rift Valley. If you’ve ever heard of the Great Rift Valley then you’ll know that it is the most amazing sight I have ever seen. When I sit back and reminisce on it all, I feel like going back there just to see that landscape but if you’ve read my story about living in Kenya you’ll understand my reluctance to even go back there. I often think about what if God were to ask me today “Go back to Kenya”….would I do it? I mean this would mean facing that which I feared, but I’ve now began to resolve within myself, that even though I was terrified as a kid because of the experiences I had without full knowledge of God at the time, my perspective of going there has changed in that now I know God and I wish I knew Him better a little earlier when I was going through some things but I am grateful that God is in my life now. THANK YOU JESUS!

Anyway, back to the school trip story… so we went there and it was really a trip to go to Mount Longonot. Mt. Longonot is not really a mountain per say , it’s more of a dormant stratovolcano, in otherwords a crater created during the time Mt. Kenya Erupted many years ago during the formation of the Rift Valley so it is a tourist haven for those who love hiking. I love hiking and all but when we got there and I looked at the steep incline to go up, I freaked out! Mt. Longonot is known for it’s steep rigdes that look like numerous veins of embankments.

Natrually, I wanted to go back and call it a day, but there’s no turning back now since the bus has left and plus I was with some teachers and friends as well so I wasn’t alone either as this was a whole new experience for me. I even thought of feining sickness like an asthma attack…but I didn’t want to call back a sickness I had long since recovered through swimming, so in the end I had to brave it out into the mountain that laid before me. It took us 3 and a half hours to get up there and let me tell you that my Nike shoes were not built for this rocky and steep terrain. It was an amazing climb but there was a freaky moment when one of the students slipped off one of the narrow ridges that you had to walk single file because you could either fall to your left or right of the embankment but thank GOD a teacher managed to catch her on time. I tell you that my heart literally stopped in pure shock upon seeing that and boy did I pray like crazy after that. I thought to myself “I must be crazy to have convinced my Grandma to go up this mountain” I wanna LIVE! lol.  It was incredibly windy too (which was not helping) and the sun was beaming happily on our heads making us sweat like crazy. I mean…I’m pretty sure I lost weight going up there, if not from the walk itself, definitely from the stress, lol.

I thought about this whole trip and thought to myself, I can’t afford to die here today because if I do, my grandma is surely going to kill herself and meet me in heaven and spank me silly for not living lol. It took a lot to convince her to allow my sister and I to go on this day trip in which we would return at the end of the day because she was quite fearful of our safety so it wouldn’t pan out well if I slipped and fell somewhere and died just like that lol. It’s funny that I thought this as a child because my Grandma was strict so I was afraid that I’d meet her in Heaven and she’d give me hell for dying so easily and probably lecture me on why she didn’t want us to go up there in the first place with many yadda yadda yadas and a whatever *me rolling my eyes*…I tell you this is a Kids mind, well my mind, lol. I’m sure if she knew I was rolling my eyes like that, she’d get angry with me so “Sorry GRANDMA! in advance”. I must say, my grandma truly gave me the fear of God in her uh hmmm.

When we got to the top, and I mean the summit *praise the Lord*, we were sitting at the very edge of the crater so any foolish move would mean toppling into it and I took a brave peek inside just to see what was down there but it was really dark… I mean Pitch black…I know in photos you can see trees from an airplane view but it’s diffferent when you walk all the way up there and look into the deep. It was drafty and it was dark….pitch black…no, more like blacker than black. It was a scary thing to see looking in. I remember my foolish guy friends trying to nudge me forward to take a closer look and some were foolishly walking right at the sharp edge as the dare devils that they were, but I had no crazy ambition to do what they were doing so I shake my head at these *guys* tsk tsk tsk. However, it was an amazing thing to see all the same. When you shout into it, you expect an echo but it doesn’t really echo down there since there seems to be so much wind at the top that muffles the sound.

We ate our lunch as we took a break from the treacherous trek upwards and looked at the view of the Rift Valley that lay before us down there. It was indeed a wonderous sight. I was in awe of God’s creation of this land. I remember feeling amazed and I thought to myself that this must be how God felt when he finished creating the whole world…He must have sat at a high place like this and thought…”Wow, I did a great Job! It looks so Awesome!” *Pats Himself on the Back*. Truly the World is our Lord’s canvass and it is beautiful.

To end the story, it took us two hours to get down because going down is easier than going up and it was just as treachorous. My shoes looked like road-kill and my Grandma was not pleased at all, whoa, you should have seen her angry expression…but I’m used to that lol…..but despite all that, she was happy that we ventured out into the deep and explored this amazing land. We (My sister and I) did something that was new and it was a great adventure. We stared at fear right in the face and took the courage to go out there and get messy, get experience, expanded our world view and enjoyed the journey. It was a terrific adventure. I will never forget it.

It was new territory for me and I learned a lot from this experience. One lesson that I grabbed from all this was that You have no idea what you are capable of doing until you step out and do it. When I reflect on this truth I think this goes without saying about everything we do. Sometimes we are too scared to do the things we have never truly ventured out to do before because of fear, and we over-analyze ourselves for lack of skills or experience, but You have no idea what your true capabilities are until you step out into a situation that is foreign to your comfort zone.

I feel like God has been talking to me about this area for a while and there are areas in which I find myself feeling shaken and afraid to do because I have comfort zones that need breaking. What are your comfort zones? Don’t kid yourself and think you have none because if you aren’t operating at your full potential then you have comfort zone issues that you need to deal with in all sincerity. I know I do…in fact I feel like lately, God has been forcing me to face myself so much in this area so each year I purpose to do something different to expand my horizons. Try and do something that you’ve never done before and see what happens. You might learn something new about yourself that you never knew before, but you won’t know what it is if you are sitting on your derriere. You can’t enlarge your territory sitting down, you have to get up and GO!

If you go year to year and do nothing different….you are living in a case called INSANITY. The Insanity Zone keeps your potential on lock-down. In order to break from that, you have to do something DIFFERENT. Shock your Comfort Zone levels, Shock your Insanity Zone levels and get into the POTENTIAL Zone. To unlock your potential, you have to step out of the Comfort and Insanity Zone.

Question is: “Are you willing?”

No one can do this for you except yourself so like me, who had never climbed a crater let alone a mountain before, had to face this reality… Believe me, I wanted to turn around and tail run…but when you have no where else to Go but UP, then GO UP! This is what I believe God wants people to do…Don’t look back, don’t look Down, LOOK UP! You are the HEAD and not the TAIL.

If you want to enlarge your “territory”, it’s not enough to pray the  Prayer of Jabez. You have to be willing to step into that territory just like CALEB and JOSHUA! Read about them again in my post called The Latter Rain will be Greater . Enlarging your Territory means stepping into it. It’s not something that you should expect to land in your lap without your participation. You have to perceive it first when God shows it to you and then He will expect you to walk right into it and claim it. God Points the direction and you follow where His hand leads, do you get that? Are you ready for God to Point His Finger in the Direction where He wants YOU to GO? When I think of this question, I always freak out first and then I say “Yes” in a small, sheepish voice…because when you don’t have the full picture, it is at these times that God expects us to WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT(2 Corinthians 5:7).  He always tests us with the WORD.

The Promised Land

So my encouragement today is:

Walk into your territory, do something that you’ve never done before to enlarge your territory because you haven’t tapped into your hidden potential yet. Expand your horizons and seek no limitations because God says “NO LIMITS!”. For with man it is impossible but with GOD all things are Possible Matthew 19:26. You have someone that is Greater that is living within you (the Holy Spirit, the HOPE OF GLORY1 John 4:4) that is waiting to perform, but we cap the Holy Spirit in us by our Faithlessness, our Disobedience and our Fear. Fear is not of GOD, so embrace Courage and step into your Territory so that God can take you to the Land of Promise that He is going to Show you.

 Stay blessed everyone !

Strengthening Your Patience while Waiting

Day 19 of 21 Day Daniel Fast – Waiting can be a tedious and arduous task when you are expecting an answer to your prayers to come down ASAP; however, as cliche as this sounds “patience is a virtue” and by virtue, it is indeed a difficult thing to strengthen in a microwave society that expects things to be produced immediately. Just because society has become accustomed to this microwave way of thinking doesn’t mean  that in the Kingdom of God we can treat such important matters with the same mentality. God’s Kingdom has value and the things that God has for us has great Value and as such, we have to learn to cultivate patience which is a specific virtue to obtaining the things we need in order to become highly effective people in our society that needs to see God as the answer. Because God is our answer, we have to understand that Great things come to those that wait and that a blessing delayed is not a blessing denied. Unfortunately, we can abort its arrival to our address if we start to become impatient and seek other avenues that are ungodly to receive the answers we seek. This is characteristic of rebellious behavior; a culmination of a level of faithlessness, unbelief, and an uncommitted heart which is derived from DISOBEDIENCE.

When others choose the path of disobedience to obtaining the things they want, what they don’t realize is that such behaviors may allow them to receive what they seek in an attractive package, but the consequence to their actions will ultimately bring them pain and misery as a result once they realize that what they settled for may not have been designed to fit their destiny. Wait for Gods best rather than settling for less than the best. Yes, you have to wait, but waiting for a promise that will give you a lifetime of joy is better than settling for a hasty decision that brings a lifetime of pain likened to living without peace and feeling like everyday is a living hell. Avoid making hasty decisions.  An example of such disastrous ideas could be choosing the wrong mate as a life partner because of the impatient desire for God to reveal His best handcrafted for you, or choosing the wrong school for your education, or choosing the wrong occupation or job out of desperation just to work but not really seeking God to direct you to the right place for you to work in or trusting Him to take you to the right connections that are aligned to your destiny.

We must understand that God is committed to His Jeremiah 29:11 in your life but are you committed enough to wait patiently for that long awaited valuable answer or blessing that you seek in your life? If we choose to be impatient as we wait for what God has for us, we potentially can make life changing, destiny altering decisions that have lasting ramifications not just in your life but in future generations to come. This is a serious thing that we should understand when we await what God has for us. Think of Esau, he despised his birthright for a morsel of food and the blessing that was intended for him was handed over to his brother (Genesis 25:19-34). It was said that he sought for his blessing with tears (Hebrews 12:17). You don’t want to end up like that now do you? I Know I don’t. Don’t allow doubt to rob you of the virtue of Patience. Patience is a character building trait and let me tell you, I for one am still workin’ on it. It is a difficult thing to cultivate but I believe it is worth while to nurture since the benefits of it are that you gain wisdom, understanding along the way in order to maintain the promise once you receive it. Purpose to wait patiently for God’s best and don’t allow disobedience to rob you of the best that is yet to come.

Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright.

Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”

Hebrews 11:20
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future.

Hebrews 12:16
See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.

Hebrews 12:17

17 Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears, he could not change what he had done.

Colossians 1:11
being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,

Colossians 3:12
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

1 Timothy 1:16
But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

Hebrews 6:12
We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

DIVINE JOY “It’s OK to be Happy !!!!!” – Analysis of the Critical Spirit

When we think of JOY, we think of all things positive pertaining to it, such as happiness, goodness, kindness, smiles, cheer, elation, excitement, etc. Joy is an experience that people with a winning attitude carry; however, no matter the level of Joy you experience in your life you will encounter those that work against that JOY that I think everybody deserves to experience. I classify such people with such a heavy-seated negative spirit as those of a CRITICAL SPIRIT.

There are times when I come across people who have developed within themselves a critical spirit. A critical spirit is one that always knit-picks at every single thing you do or say because they suffer a serious illness which I call “DEPRIVATION OF JOY“. Without realizing it, they tend to tear down other people’s self-esteem to propel their own because deep down inside, they are suffering emotional pain that they pacify by hurting others with their words, thoughts, actions and deeds. Such pain is rooted in heavy seated personal insecurity harbored by feelings of resentment, envy, and bitterness. Hurting people can hurt people in much the same way that abused people can become abusive people. They may not realize it on the onset that they exihibt the traits of an abuser with their conduct, but from my experience, I find that they focus on attacking strong-willed, passionate, and confident individuals because they despise their strength that comes from working at being positive minded and growing in FAITH.

The character of a Critical spirit  is what most would identify in modern vernacular as a “Hater”. They criticize in methods and ways to damage and control others because they lack the ability to practice serious introspection regarding their emotions. They tend to operate on the basis of emotions and their criticism is never constructive but rather always destructive. Constructive criticism builds and corrects, Destructive criticism negates, nullifies and always seeks to CONTROL others.

I have observed in my life that when a person is unhappy with their status quo they seek to control those that are happy and full of JOY in whatever they are doing. True Joy comes from the LORD and JOY is everybodies portion, but bitterness, anger, unforgiveness, impatience to receiving the promises of God robs people who are “Haters” to receive full healing because they can’t diagnose how sick they really are emotionally. They are blinded by their unstable behavior nor can they ascertain what their root problems are that are hidden deep within themselves. It is better for the “Hater” to point a finger and knit-pick at others weaknesses without analyzing their own. I have met a few in my walk, and yes, they are quite challenging to deal with on a daily basis at times, but I still believe that God loves even such people and seeks to restore them into their “right” mind.

Psalm 30:2
O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.

Psalm 107:20
He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

Let’s analyze an example of how destructive a Critical Spirit  can be when it is unrestrained.

In the book of EXODUS 32, Moses had to deal with such cantankerous individuals (the children of Israel) that exhibited traits of a critical spirit when they were wondering in the wilderness and criticized his leadership and rebelled against his authority while he was up on the mountain receiving the Ten Commandments from God, by opting for a GOLDEN CALF as their “god” and claiming that the graven image was responsible for releasing them from captivity in Egypt (Exodus 32:4). Aaron usurped Moses’ authority over the people and aided in the creation of the golden idol as they started to worship the Gold Calf with drink and merry dancing. God got very angry with the children of Israel’s idolatry and commanded Moses to go down to reprimand and rebuke them for their evil actions and rebellious behavior. Aaron (Moses’ brother) dished out excuses as to why he assisted in making the idol trying to pin the blame on the people when he was in on this whole thing too. Moses got really angry with Aaron and the people and took the idol, burnt it, crushed it into powder and put the powder into water and made the children of Israel drink of that water (Exodus 32:20). Aaron should be found guilty of his behaviour because he had facilitated in the act of creating the idol and had contributed to causing all the children of Israel to sin against GOD. This was a serious offense that led God to judge those that were guilty of the deed later on (Exodus 32:33-35).

What can you learn about people who have a Critical spirit from this story?:

1. They lack patience to hear or wait on God and are negative minded complainers (Exodus 32:1);

2. They refuse to do things God’s way and start to do things their way by taking things into their OWN hands (Exodus 32:1-2);

3. They love to Usurp authority when they disagree with their leaders instruction and enjoy the power of  controlling a group to follow their instructions instead that go against the original mission or vision for the group (Exodus 32: 2-4). Aaron usurped Moses’ authority by taking the lead (in Moses’ absence) in the creation of the new golden calf by instructing the children of Israel to give up their gold and jewelry so that he could mold the new graven image. Instead of waiting on Moses to return from the mountain, Aaron took matters into his own hands which was a grave mistake for both him and the entire camp. They all had raised the fury of the Lord to pronounce righteous judgment on them all by this grave conduct of DISOBEDIENCE.

4. Critical spirits are disobedient to the Word of God.  They fail at listening to instruction and are rebellious in all their ways.

5. They lack the Fear of the Lord (Exodus 32:6).  They (the children of Israel) danced and drank merrily in their disobedience around the graven image of the Golden Calf.

6. They are FAITH-LESS and try to justify it by pointing fingers and pinning the blame on others for their lack of Faith. “Nothing is ever their fault”, it’s always “everybody else is to blame but them”. This is also a pity-party behavior as well.  Aaron tries to justify his actions to Moses by blaming the people when he had the ability to lead them to do right before the Lord. It is clear to me that Aaron loved the power trip he had and sunk too high in PRIDE that he was too arrogant and willful in his behavior to notice how rebellious he had become against GOD. He saw no consequence to his actions since he assumed that his brother wouldn’t come back anytime soon from the mountain (Exodus 32:22-24).

7. They are moved by the things of the Flesh and not by the Spirit of God.

8. They seek instant gratification over perseverance in obedience to God (Exodus 32:1-6).

9. Under their leadership, they cause others to sin and fall into a place that allows for the righteous judgment of the Lord to fall against the people (Exodus 32:21); however, judgment was withheld by Moses’ intercession for a short time (Exodus 32:11-14) Aaron was the cause of this grave offense against God’s 1st & 2nd commandments — “You shall have no other gods before Me” (Exodus 20:3); “You shall not make for yourself a carved image…” (Exodus 20:4). Aaron’s conduct affected the destinies of the others who had followed his instructions to sin together. Critical spirits latch on to other people which enables it to cause another to sin if they lack Self-control.

10. Critical spirits FEAR divine correction, instruction and rebuke (Exodus 32:22).

11. Critical spirits refuse ownership for their evil actions (Exodus 32:22-24). Aaron justifies his behaviour as no fault of his own and yet in Exodus 32:35 it is proven he was responsible for the calamity that fell on the children of Israel who followed his WICKED instruction to create a graven idol for worship.

12. Critical spirits are unrestrained (Lack self-control) (Exodus 32:25)

12. Critical spirits destroy other people lives (Exodus 32:35Righteous judgment falls on the people who were rebellious and disobedient to God.

13. Critical spirits turn you against God (Exodus 32:1-6).

I just want to state for a fact that this is my biblical take on this type of critical spirit. From my opinion and experience, I have seen people operating in these traits that I have described in many of their actions  done to me and others during my walk. They exhibit many of the qualities to a large extent and follow a similar pattern to Aaron and the children of Israel who grumbled while out in the wilderness.

Despite all that, whether they see it or not, these highly emotional people don’t realize that their emotions are like a sinking ship into a path that leads to ungodly behaviour. Such people need to admit that they have a serious problem with PRIDE and lack of self-control to function properly. I classify these critical spirited people as highly dysfunctional. In some cases, depending on the level of dysfunction, they may need some serious deliverance counseling in order to heal from that behavior.

Anybody who operates with a lack of self-control is definitely under the influence of some demonic forces and that is why some people who cultivate such a critical spirit behave demonized (depending on the level of strongholds in the persons mind).

How can one receive healing & deliverance from this Critical Spirit?

They must CONFESS with their mouths their sins/weaknesses in order to receive their healing and not act like Aaron, who refused to take ownership of his behaviour. A lot of people remain a slave to their sins/weaknesses because of this level of PRIDE and ARROGANCE that refuses to admit that they need to come clean about their actions. If you know of someone that has operated with this type of spirit, or if you have personally struggled with this type of behavior and have identified areas that you have failed to be honest before the Lord, let me tell you that JOY is virtually non-existent in your life if you choose to remain in denial about of your sinful actions/ behaviours.

Why choose to be in bondage to guilt and shame when freedom comes from CONFESSING your weaknesses and failures before the LORD?  Temporary fleshy JOY isn’t true JOY, because true JOY comes from the LORD and that level of JOY provides strength. Choose to be set free from this cycle of destructive criticism and confess the areas where you caused harm to others by your bad behaviour, words spoken, thoughts meditated, and through your actions and deeds. When you confess, seek the Lord to set you Free to release the guilt and restore your JOY that is DIVINE and from the Lord. Humble yourself before Him and HE will hear from Heaven and heal you from this Critical spirit. Remember that such a spirit is UNBELIEVING, so seek God in FAITH that HE will hear you from Heaven and answer you when you call on the NAME of the LORD, JESUS CHRIST.

MEDITATE on the Word concerning JOY.  JOY IS YOUR PORTION. BE FREE TO Experience it in ABUNDANCE!

For I will cause the captives of the land to return as at the first,’ says the LORD.

Philemon 1:20
Yes, brother, let me have joy from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in the Lord.

Be encouraged and know that JOY can be restored in those lives that have often times experienced the rough end of the stick. The JOY of the LORD is for EVERYONE. He is the one who can restore it all who seek to walk uprightly and seek to do HIS WILL and not THEIR OWN.

I have put another song that ministers to me whenever I struggle with my own weaknesses and seek God to heal me in areas that require DIVINE INTERVENTION by seeking His face in truth and sincerity in prayer and meditation. I pray that it ministers to you and May God Grant you the JOY that you deserve in this life. Humble yourself to receive the Joy that He offers to give. Set aside your PRIDE and seek His face so that you can be restored and feel true fulfillment in the Lord. He cares for you soo much that He loves to heal the broken-hearted, the abused, the critical minded, the proud, the haughty, the offended, the disobedient and rebellious, etc.

John 14:1

Out of Eden – I am the ONE.
