Hope is what we Crave

Hello Everybody!

f551c49317faa4dc520f2a11e9b40ec6There’s this song that I’ve been listening to that’s just awesome. It’s by for King and Country called Hope is what we Crave. I sense in my spirit that there are people out there facing self-condemnation.

In Christ there is no condemnation but redemption. Nothing you have done, thought and/or said can keep you from being forgiven. My challenge for those of you beating yourself up about your past mistakes is to learn to forgive yourself. Forgiveness releases you from depression, bitterness, anger, fear and doubt. Don’t exalt or magnify your mistakes either...it’s very easy to get too caught up in that so rather lean on the redeeming power of Jesus Christ that will embrace you like a father who welcomed back his prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32) . BELIEVE you are forgiven and move on. I’m not saying continue to sin…I’m saying, learn to repent and change your heart to be more like the loving Father.

And for those that love pointing fingers at others, make sure that there isn’t one pointing right back at YOU. God is not pleased when we make fun of others for their mistakes or weaknesses. The same measure you judge another person is the same that will be used against you. We must be a people that understand the meaning of Compassion. If you don’t have it, then get it.

Matthew 7 [Full Chapter]

[ Do Not Judge ] “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?

2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (NKJV)

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

Romans 8:1

[ Free from Indwelling Sin ] There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Sometimes it’s hard to comprehend to love or should I say the Agape Love of the Father when we are imperfect in our own love. Perfect love casts out fear so learn to abide in the love of the Father.

1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

[ Love and Joy Perfected ] “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.

There is literally nothing in heaven or earth that can keep you from the Love of God.  You have to be persuaded to believe that though. In order to believe, you must first have Faith that this Love He has for you is unchanging. People may change around you but God’s love never changes towards you. Circumstances may rock you, and you may even fail sometimes, but God’s love will always be there to carry you when you’re down.

Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV)

38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I don’t believe that when a child is disobedient and does something that upsets their images (1)parents that all of a sudden the parent stops loving them. Good/God-fearing parents never stop loving their children and in the same way, God never stops loving you even if we may upset Him with our disobedience sometimes, His love never changes for you. That’s why it is good news to know that you can be redeemed. A contrite spirit is one that God does not despise so bask in God’s love for you today.

Psalm 34:18

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.

I pray that this song encourages you today and blesses your spirit. God bless you everybody 😀

It’s the HEART that counts!

Hi Everybody!

Is everybody enjoying their summer? Well, as we enjoy the weather let us not forget that we need to remain in prayer for the land that we live in. I’m sure some of you have heard of the Colorado fires going on in the US? The landslides in Uganda where those who lived in the slum have lost their homes, the summer drownings  that seem to be a seasonal thing that keeps happening in Ontario, Canada every year (Canadians need to learn to swim seriously 😦 ). There is so much going on in different parts of the world and we just need to remember to keep our nations in prayer, AMEN!

Ok so I have a video here today for us to contemplate on what we do and how we live before God’s measure of Faith. I said in a previous post a while ago that God doesn’t measure deeds, He measures our HEART. Man always looks at the outward appearance as a standard of good behaviour, but God always looks a our hearts. When you think of Saul – the people-pleaser in the Bible…you’ll recognize that his heart was always in the wrong place and was therefore rejected from being King by the Lord Himself, which consequentially offended him greatly and moved him to be filled with hatred and jealousy to God’s new Candidate David the little shepherd boy. David was exalted because his Heart was one of a true worshiper who worshiped in Spirit and in Truth and is always described as the man after God’s Heart. Even when David sinned against God, he repented with great remorse because he truly loved God and realized how much he had grieved the Lord with his sinful actions. It didn’t matter how faithful he was in deeds prior to his sin of adultery, because God was always looking at David’s heart. If we focus way too much on deeds without cultivating a heart of love in our actions walking in the spirit of truth and humility, then deeds alone don’t count for anything. Faith without Works is dead (James 2:14-26) as are works without faith and love are dead also. Faith and Works must be held together if we are to walk in Righteousness since the Just live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:16; Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:26; Hebrews 10:38).

1 Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”.

It’s amazing to see how deceived people can be when they think that deeds count for something more than the heart. JESUS is always looking at our hearts all the time. Let’s learn from the story about Ananias and Sapphira in the book of (Acts 5:1-11). Not every story has a happy ending and the story of Ananias and Sapphira is once such story. Their story is a warning for all believers to take God very seriously and to not think or consider lying to the Holy Spirit. God shall not be mocked.

We can try and fool people with self-righteousness and deeds but if we have not LOVE, then it is useless and we are most definitely operating in a false sense of humility. Such a display of  this false faith in action is nothing more but pride in action.

Love is an important character that we need to cultivate since AGAPE “God is Love” is the very character of God. I know for sure that the Holy Spirit shows me areas that I lack it, but I still make an effort to strive to love like Jesus did. I admit that there are individuals who rub me the wrong way sometimes and I’m sure we all do have some in our lives, but the most important thing is to always purpose to operate in love. True Humility operates in Love at all times and it is never self-seeking nor is it pretentious.

When I see others who operate with a high level of Love, I always get challenged because I’m thinking…”wow…you know this person is against you, but you still treat them with the utmost love that I find to be quite profound”. My Grandpa and Grandma are really good at displaying this type of love…and sometimes I think it’s over the top because there are some things that I consider to be things that really need to be addressed and called out on with regards to some people in their actions. However, I remain amazed at how they can still fellowship with all kinds of people especially their enemies and still maintain that spirit of love despite knowing what they are all about even in circumstances where these same people plot harm against the family.

Love is real when it is in action and Love can only grow through Faith. Faith is tied to LOVE. The more faith you have the more love you have. The more Godly love you have the more Faith you have. Faith and Love go hand in hand in God’s Hand.

For God so loved the world that He gave us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for us and for our sins so that whosoever believes in Him will not perish like Ananais and Sapphira did, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

It is clear to me that Ananias and Sapphira lacked faith and operated without the fear of God because the believed they could pretend humility in a self-seeking manner as a reaction to their jealousy toward their brother in Christ which is not characteristic of Agape-love at all.

As we learn from the grimm story of Ananias and Sapphira we must look back and ask ourselves what do we believe in? Do we believe in the powerful Love of our Lord Jesus Christ? Will we choose to operate in Love just like our Lord Jesus? or will we pretend humility and lie to the Holy Spirit?

When you have faith in God, you believe in His love that He has for you when you get saved; however, our faith in His love is demonstrated best when we love others in return as He has done for us as well. So Today, focus on increasing your capacity to love people as Christ loves the Church and all the people of the World. When you demonstrate your love, you show God that you have faith in Him.  God Expects us to do likewise in our conduct as He has done for us through His Son Jesus Christ at the Cross. Let’s think on purifying our Hearts so that we can Love people as God loves us and Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth rather than end up unfaithful and deceitful like Ananias and Sapphira. God shall not be mocked by self-righteousness so we must reverentially Fear Him as we walk by faith with fear and trembling ensuring that humility is our garment of Praise. Let’s renew our spirits and ask God to cleanse our hearts of anything that doesn’t resemble Godly love in character though our actions, thoughts and deeds, AMEN!

I have a song by Donnie McClurkin called Create in Me a Clean Heart. May it minister to your heart today. Have a Blessed day everybody!

Scriptures to Meditate

Habakkuk 2:4
Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.

Romans 1:17
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Hebrews 10:19-27  (NKJV)

Hold Fast Your Confession

19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

The Just Live by Faith

26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.

Hebrews 10:38
Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

1 Corinthians 13 (NKJV)

The Greatest Gift

13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

A Prayer of Repentance – Forgive Me Father for I have Weaknesses!

Nathan the Prophet confronts King David

Psalm 51

For the director of music. A psalm of David. When the prophet Nathan came to him after David had committed adultery with Bathsheba.

1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
   and done what is evil in your sight;
so you are right in your verdict
   and justified when you judge.
5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;
  you taught me wisdom in that secret place.

7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
   wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins
and blot out all my iniquity.

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
   and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
   or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
   and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
   so that sinners will turn back to you.
14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
you who are God my Savior,
and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
15 Open my lips, Lord,
and my mouth will declare your praise.
16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;
you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
17 My sacrifice, O God, is[b] a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart
you, God, will not despise.

18 May it please you to prosper Zion,
to build up the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then you will delight in the sacrifices of the righteous,
in burnt offerings offered whole;
then bulls will be offered on your altar.

I felt the need to point out Psalm 51 as a model for a prayer of Repentance.

King David had sent Bathsheba’s husband Uriah to the front lines to be killed while he stayed in Jerusalem so that he could take his wife (2 Samuel 11:1). Uriah died in the battle and David had committed adultery with Bathsheba. This was a serious offence against the Lord in that he had committed a heinous crime and had envied Uriah for his wife and acted on his envy by committing adultery with her (2 Samuel 11:27). The Lord sent Nathan the Prophet to rebuke and warned David of what he had done to anger the Lord to pronounce His righteous Judgment against him. David’s response to his grievous sin was a sincere and sorrowful, contrite and a broken-hearted spirit seeking forgiveness from the Lord for his grievous actions (2 Samuel 12). David was anointed and chosen by God to be King over Israel and yet he too had weaknesses in areas that sought to satisfy his flesh. He too was tempted and had succumbed to his temptations to such an extent as to plot someones death just to get what he wanted. David is no angel here but when he confessed to God, he did so with a sincere and contrite heart that moved God to forgive him as a response to David’s repentance of his actions. King or Pauper, no one is immune from temptation. It says in the word that:

Romans 3:22-24 (NKJV)

22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all[a] who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus

We can only be redeemed through Christ our Saviour, so we must confess our sins before Jesus who died for us so that we can be restored to the Love of the Father.

John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

God is a Father who forgives us even for the most grievous of offenses as hard as that seems to believe.

David’s act of Repentance allowed for him to be Forgiven because he still remained a Man after God’s Own Heart.

How God sees us as children

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

The Greatest Love of All

Hello Everybody!

Today is Valentines day which is a celebration of Love. To be quite honest with you I think that it’s great to celebrate it but I also think that Love should also be practiced everyday. If love is the greatest thing of all in this life, why don’t we see acts of it everyday? Today, show love towards others but don’t forget to show it tomorrow, and the day after that and the day after that. It should be love in action everyday till the day you leave the Earth. Don’t just love Love, become LOVE.

I know that it seems like Valentine’s is dedicated to couples only, but I don’t think so. Valentines isn’t just designated to couples, it’s dedicated to all. You give love by your acts of kindness and receive love by others acts of kindness.  There are different types of Love but we must aim for AGAPE as a way of life because Jesus is AGAPE Love.

Let’s explore the types of LOVE that we are aware of:

Phileo Love  –  is affectionate love – the type expressesed by giving affection.

Eros Love – Sexual/Passionate love – Love that is strictly between one man and one woman in a (marital relationship)…notice how I didn’t say courtship …I said MARITAL relationship.

Storge love – Love between a parent and child – Love that is directed between parent and child and kin.

AGAPE LoveGod is Love– This is the type of love we must try to honor with each other and with ourselves.

Jesus is the Greatest Love of all since He died for us so that no one would perish but have everlasting life in HIS LOVE. Let us exemplify this Love today and forever so that Love isn’t just a Feb 14 thing every year…it’s an everyday thing. BECOME LOVE and SHOW IT.

GOD says to you Today  “Happy Valentines Day, I Love you, Yesterday, Today and FOREVER, Be my VALENTINE”.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”” John 13:34-35 NKJV

Today, bask in God’s Love for you. It is everlasting! It is a Love that is Perfect and it casts out all fear and provides hope. Be a reflection of Gods love for you by the way you love others. Love is not possessive, it is shared. Love rejoices in the truth so know today that you are indeed Loved. Single, Married, Divorced, Widowed or are currently in a relationship, whatever stage you are in Life, God will Always Love you.

My Valentines Gift for everyone today is a Song By Fred Hammond From his CD called Unstoppable and the Song is called Lord How I Love YOU! Be blessed and HAPPY VALENTINES EVERYBODY!
