Building on Integrity in a World with Moral Decay

Quotefancy-16915-3840x2160

Hello Everybody!😀

I pray that your Weekend is going pretty well.

We had a brother in the church that lost a newborn baby and just came back from Africa from burying the baby.😦 We as a church pulled together to minister to his spirit by loving on this individual because it’s so important to have support when you’re going through that time of grief. I know I needed it when I was going through the grief of losing my grandmother who was someone very important to me. I pray that he and his wife will pull through this together and that God will restore joy back to them and bless them with many more children in the future. I found out later on after service by my Pastor, that the brother was so moved by the love displayed by the members of the church that he made a decision today that he wants to serve. To me, that is worth a praise and a shout to God. It’s amazing what the love of God can do for someone. If it causes a person to move into destiny, then I’m all about that. No manipulation involved, just pure and genuine unconditional love is enough to move a person and shift their destiny, Amen!😀

That’s what it means to be the Church people of God. We build each other up by supporting each other, growing with each other, edifying each other and training each other to keep moving forward to the upward call of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

So today I want to continue on this whole thing about INTEGRITY. For those of you following along, please refer back to my previous posts, the Transition to Elevation post and the It’s PA time with God, How did you measure up? post.

integrityIt is so important to assess the condition of your heart when seeking elevation, promotion and going up somewhere that you’ve never been to before. God always looks at our hearts to determine if we are ready for the next level. If you’re not prepared, God won’t bring you to something or someone that you aren’t prepared for. People want to experience high levels and high heights, but are spiritually, intellectually and/or emotionally immature to handle the responsibility of the next level. I can tell you right now that if you harbor any jealousy, bitterness, pride and arrogance towards your fellow brother or sister, be it family, friends, co-workers or peers who are getting blessed, then you’re heading down a dangerous path of destruction.

What is INTEGRITY?

The dictionary defines it as:

  1. adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.
  2. the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished.
  3. a sound, unimpaired, or perfect condition.

The Bible also has a few things to say about integrity:

Let me be weighed on honest scales, That God may know my integrity.

The Lord shall judge the peoples; Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity within me.

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for You.

So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

bmmlwvsimaabs4qIt is so important to walk in integrity with your heart because if you don’t, you will walk in a place filled with many dangers. Those that lack integrity live a perverse life and are drawn to wickedness, are boastful and have a lying tongue. They will delight in the ways of evil and not good, and such people will corrupt your heart and will lie with their lips. They walk in the counsel of the ungodly and find themselves bound up by their own devices. Notice how I said “They will be bound up by their own devices” and not necessarily the devices of the enemy because all the devil has to do is dangle something in front of such a person and they’ll run quickly to evil and will get caught up in a snare. My message to you is to please not become such a person. Such a person will have a seared conscience (1 Timothy 4:2) and will not maintain any standard that has to do with Godly moral principles.

He who walks with integrity walks securely, But he who perverts his ways will become known.

The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.

Better is the poor who walks in his integrity Than one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

It is better to hold onto Integrity, because it is founded on a person choosing to maintain a Godly moral standard way of living. Those that have integrity will be blessed in everything that they do and will receive promotion, elevation and much much more.

The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.

Integrity is also founded on TRUST. Can God trust you with His business? If God can’t trust you with little, why is it that we expect to receive so much from God as if we are entitled to every blessing from the Lord? What have you given God lately? Have you given Him your time, your attention, your love? We really need to get away from simply demanding stuff from God and really start focusing on building a closer relationship with Him by pursuing the HEART of the FATHER. Seek to understand Jesus’ Heart by being a God Chaser.

Luke 16:10

10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.

INTEGRITY is what you pass on to the next generation if you are a parent/guardian/mentor/teacher/pastor/leader. If you look at Proverbs 20:7, it tells you that even the children of a righteous man who walks in integrity are blessed after him. If we need to pass on something to the next generation, let it be INTEGRITY people. Right now we live in a Godless society that wants us to compromise our beliefs and what we stand for, but God is seeking a people to stand for what is right, to stand up for what is good and to stand up for our Lord Jesus Christ. We can’t be closet Christians. Our life should scream “I’m a believer of Christ Jesus”, but do you want to know the reason why some people aren’t obvious in their Christianity? It is because some people are “Christians” in name only, but not in conduct. We cannot afford to be this way.

heartI remember sharing this story with my church the other day because right now we’re dealing with a series that my Pastor has been talking about called “God, Money and You”. You can check out those sermons on our church website livingproofcentre.org So a while back my parents were friends with this guy that they went to school with in the UK. My parents moved to Canada and this friend followed, but he ended up living in Vancouver since we lived in Ontario. He had just gotten married a few years after that and apparently the woman that he married was quite wealthy so when he visited us and my parents in Ontario a few months after getting married, he came and showed off his golf clubs and made fun of my parents and their house and was quite disrespectful to them and to me with his show of arrogance and pride asserting that “he’d made it”.

Frankly speaking, I didn’t care and was very annoyed to serve this guy with hospitality because if it were me, I’d show you the door and won’t think twice on it if you think you can just disrespect me and my family in my own house, however, my parents were more gracious than I was at the time and entertained this so-called “friend” until he left to go back to Vancouver. I honestly was like good riddance…I mean really people, really!😦  Oh Minister Sherline, you shouldn’t say that…yes, I’m saying that because I’m being real here.

My parents could not believe this supposed “bible-believing” friend that they went to school with together could change so much. My question was, did you really know the man? The man was obviously in love with money and you know what the Bible says about the love of money? It is the root of all evil. Don’t get me wrong, money in and of itself is not bad, but its the way in which one pursues it that matters. Do you pursue it with just means, or are you unjust in your methods of pursuing wealth? All these things matter people.

1 Timothy 6:10

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

integritaet-w620xh248-cutout

A few months pass by and it became apparent that this friend no longer wanted to have anything to do with my parents because he was a “high-roller” now and why would he need to hang out with those below his so-called status? Let me just say that our standards are never God’s standards if we act with a haughty spirit filled with pride and arrogance. Anyways, a few months down the road we read about that brother in the newspaper. He had stolen over $450K from the Children’s hospital and wrote out over 75 fraudulent cheques. As a consequence, the man was put under house arrest for 2 years and we also heard that the government of Canada had placed a ban from him from ever traveling to the USA for life, he was stripped of his accountancy designation that he worked so hard alongside my stepdad to obtain in the UK, I mean, the man was simply destroyed. In the papers they quote this about him:

“”It’s the scarlet letter that you wear,” [An Official] said. “’He’s the guy that stole the money from the Children’s Hospital.’ That’s how he’ll be remembered.”

We as a family were shocked about this brother’s demise. I mean, the whole thing is sad, but this is what happens when people lack INTEGRITY to maintain Godly standards in their character and conduct. This is what happens when you don’t preserve your integrity. You compromise and do things your way because you don’t want to listen to God anymore, you want to take things into your own hands and feel like you don’t need to answer to anybody and refuse to submit to Godly and wise counsel. You will be operating in a place of mediocrity and will end up with a life that is mediocre. When you lead yourself astray, the devil uses you as his playground to get you to a place where you are bound up, isolated and can’t move. That is called BONDAGE folks.

The truth is, there is redemption and there is grace, however, the road is much harder to walk on because you have to guide yourself back to the right path by first seeking the Father’s heart through REPENTANCE. Don’t ever take God’s grace in your life for granted, because one of these days, that grace period will run out and it’ll be too late. If your heart is far from the Father, you are walking on a perilous road. Stop trying to exalt yourself when humility is the path that you should walk in in order to preserve your life and your future. I’ve lived a life serving dignitaries at a government level and can tell you, I’ve seen the worst in government and I’ve seen amazing people at the same time. How you climb up in promotion MATTERS, because if you ever fall, you’ll have to wonder if there will be anybody below to catch you when you fall. How you treat people MATTERS, because if you treat people with disdain, you will have no true support to help you when you’re down. Treat people in the way you would like to be treated, Amen!

Titus 2:6-8

Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,[a] sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.

Here is a song from Elevation Worship called Grace Like a Wave. I pray that it ministers to someone’s spirit today as we meditate of the Grace of God and how we shouldn’t take that grace for granted in our lives. Let’s learn to walk in right-standing, Amen! God bless you everybody!😀

Transition to Elevation – by Minister Sherline

Hello Everybody!

This is part 2 of the God’s PA Review message that I promised I would share on here. This Post was taken from a message I shared tonight at church. It is posted on my church’s website livingproofcentre.org . I do believe that the message is timely and I pray that it blesses somebody today. Be encouraged, Amen!😀

When you look into the Bible, there are many situations where you encounter people that experienced a “Transition into Elevation”.

What is the meaning of Transition?

It is a movement, passage, or change from one position, state, stage, subject, concept, etc., to another; change: the transition from adolescence to adulthood.

 What is to Elevate?

  1. to move or raise to a higher place or position; lift up.
  2. to raise to a higher state, rank, or office; exalt; promote:

to elevate an archbishop to cardinal.

  1. to raise to a higher intellectual or spiritual level.

The examples that I can think of are:

  • From Shepherd to King – David – 1 Samuel 16: 1-13 (Read this whole)
  • From Prisoner to Leader – Joseph – Genesis 41
  • From Slave to Free – The children of Israel – Exodus 14
  • From Barren to Fruitful – Hannah, Prophet Samuel’s Mother – 1 Samuel 1
  • From Cursed to Blessed – Jabez- Enlarged my territory and bless me indeed – 1 Chronicles 4:10
  • From Enemy to Follower – Saul to Paul – Acts 9
  • From Sickness to Wholeness – The woman with the issue of blood – Matthew 9:20-22
  • From Death to Life – Jesus – Matthew 28; Mark 16; Luke 24

downloadSometimes, transitions into elevation seem to be anti-climactic, because as Steven Furtick said (Head Pastor of Elevation Church) in his New Year’s 2016 sermon, we are typically building anticipation for the event, but once the event happens, we tend to feel no different and yet we’ve elevated.

We’ve risen to a new level, we’ve reached a new height, we moved from point A to point B.

I wrote a blog post entitled It’s PA time with GOD, how did you measure up?” and in that blog I talked about how God measures our performance. If you have a job, you know that you’ll go through a Performance Appraisal.

A follower of my blog asked a question:

She asked me “How do you know when you have been shifted by God to a new level?”

2b4af4f9ac202d785cf3346f824b928aThere are signs everywhere that you have shifted but at the same time the transition may also feel very anti-climactic, meaning that it will feel like as if nothing has happened and yet you’ve moved into a different level. I’ll give you an example, it’s like graduating from high school or college, your excitement will be in the anticipation of that transition from student to graduate, but after the graduation party, you’ll feel no less different and yet you’ve transitioned from being a student to a graduate. You’ve moved up and yet you will feel nothing different because transitions are not based on “feelings”, they’re based on where God wants you to go. So there will be signs that you’ve moved to another level, i.e. your associations/friends/peers may change their attitude about you, new people will enter into your life, new doors start opening for you that didn’t in the last season. With every level, there are new things that happen that didn’t occur in your previous season. That’s why when God elevates you through the Word of His Mouth (be it from a prophet, preacher, minister etc), it is already done. You may not feel like anything happened but think of David, he was a shepherd boy and after he was anointed by the prophet Samuel, he was immediately transitioned into becoming a King but it took him a while from hiding from Saul to take up the throne. So even though it seems like nothing has happened, the signs were around David in that the moment he was anointed, his friendly relationship with Saul became one as an enemy overnight. Your friends/family/peers will change their attitude about you when God elevates you to the next level. I hope what I’m saying makes sense. Yes, it will feel lonely, but David went through that as well in the Bible, so just understand that when you act in obedience, there is a reward for your obedience. So understand that the shift you experienced was meant to happen. If you are moved by the Spirit of God, you will do things that will change your status as you continue to act in obedience. Transitions have nothing to do with feelings, they have everything to do with where God wants to take you.

Man has a standard of evaluations, and so does God. Man’s standard has a series of criteria, and so does God.

However, the way in which God evaluates us is by using this one criterion. Can you imagine that His evaluation is simply based on this one aspect of our life and that is that He evaluates us by our Heart?

Why does God evaluate us through our Heart?

Here are some of the reasons that He evaluates us using our Heart. Take note that this is not an exhaustive list:

  1. Your Heart has a voice:

Luke 6:45

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

  1. Your Heart reveals the issues you have in your life:

Proverbs 4:23

Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

  1. Your Heart can be hardened like stone and it can also be softened into flesh:

 Ezekiel 36:26

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

  1. Your Heart reveals what you desire:

 Matthew 6:21

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Deuteronomy 14:26

And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the Lord your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household.

  1. You think through your Heart:

Proverbs 23:7

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.

  1. Your Heart can be stirred to move by God’s will:

Exodus 35:21-22

21 Then everyone came whose heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willingand they brought the Lord’s offering for the work of the tabernacle of meeting, for all its service, and for the holy garments.22 They came, both men and women, as many as had a willing heartand brought earrings and nose rings, rings and necklaces, all jewelry of gold, that is, every man who made an offering of gold to the Lord.

  1. Your Heart can be stirred by Wisdom to give:

8e41428c9d50a1cebce4ba466c3eff92Exodus 36:1-3

36 “And Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whom the Lord has put wisdom and understanding, to know how to do all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, shall do according to all that the Lord has commanded.”

The People Give More than Enough

Then Moses called Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whose heart the Lord had put wisdom, everyone whose heart was stirred, to come and do the work. And they received from Moses all the offering which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of making the sanctuary. So they continued bringing to him freewill offerings every morning.

  1. Your Heart harbours all your emotions:

Such as Discouragement, Fear, Love, Hate, Courage etc etc

  1. Your Heart either holds on to the Truth or holds onto a pack of Lies:

1 Kings 3:6

heartAnd Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

Psalm 15:2

He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart;

James 3:14

But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.

  1. Your Heart will always be tested by the Lord:

 Deuteronomy 8:2

And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

  1. Your Heart can be deceived or you can be deceitful in your own Heart:

 Deuteronomy 11:16

“Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them,

Proverbs 17:20

He who has a deceitful heart finds no good, And he who has a perverse tongue falls into evil.

Jeremiah 17:9

“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?

  1. Your Heart reveals your loyalties:

1 Kings 8:61

Let your heart therefore be loyal to the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes and keep His commandments, as at this day.”

god-is-looking-at-your-heart

In Conclusion:

The Lord searches all Hearts:

 1 Chronicles 28:9

“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.

Jesus knocks at the door of our Hearts and therefore knows our intentions. We cannot fool God when the Word is what He uses to measure where we stand.

 Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Here is a Song from Hillsongs United called Here Now to minister to your Spirit as you reflect on renewing a right spirit in your heart to make your Heart become like flesh to hear and feel the heart of the Father who is God.

Another message for the Singles – Destiny Destroyers

temptation-HD

Hello People!

Joseph and Potifar's wifeOk, I had no intention of bringing this up ever, but today I had lunch with a friend of mine and her story is what has inspired this post.

You know as a single person, you will encounter many battles and temptations to undermine and compromise your integrity. Joseph had that situation happen when Potifar’s wife wanted to sleep with him, but he did the right thing and preserved himself from the open invitation to stray from the path of  simply doing the right thing.

And it came to pass after these things that his master’s wife cast longing eyes on Joseph, and she said, “Lie with me.”

1eded7c4682539b61c0c0b554b8a97a3So my friend today tells me that there’s this guy in her past that has been contacting her as of late and they know each other since high school days. They’re good friends, however, the man is married. He went through an arranged marriage and has had 3 kids with his wife. So the thing is this, he supposedly confessed to my friend recently that he has always been “in love” with her and she didn’t really have romantic feelings for him, but would have entertained the idea of marriage had he expressed interest earlier on before the whole arranged marriage fiasco happened. He claims that the reason why he didn’t confess to her earlier was because she didn’t throw any hints of entertaining the idea, but she didn’t know that the man was interested in her that way. This is a moment where I say to men reading this post, if you’re interested in a lady, don’t assume for one second that they can read your mind…go up there and have courage to confess to her, so that you don’t have this crae-crae-ness affect your life later like this guy in my friends story.  You won’t know if  you have a chance if you don’t try. Why live in regret thinking I coulda shoulda woulda, but inevitably like this guy, didn’t?????

Anywho, let me continue on with the story, so mind you they were young when they were friends and she was battling self-esteem issues like we all do when we’re  in our teens and in our twenties. Anyways, long story short…he’s been constantly wanting to meet up with her without his wife knowing, and she being a woman with strong moral standards, doesn’t want to be a quote in quote “Homewrecker”. He even wrote two poems to her today which she shared with me to read to see what they meant because she isn’t really strong in understanding the symbolism in poems, literature and meanings etc etc. Thank God for English class because when I read these two poems, I could tell you where this man’s head was at. There were warning signs everywhere with what he wrote. I won’t paste the poems here for the sake of anonymity, but what I will say is that his subtle messages to the undiscerning individual will seem like lovely emotional imagery type poems, but in the poems were laced with venom that entertained leaving his wife, a threat of committing suicide and feeling trapped in dark emotions aimed at making my friend feel guilt.😦 The man is obsessing over the fact that he could have married her had he had the guts back then to confess. Men…life is short, if you like a gal, confess now….if it doesn’t work out it doesn’t work out…but don’t be like this guy okay? Ladies, don’t entertain ungodly behaviours that can cause your brother to stumble. Don’t give into the temptation whatsoever because this type of thing right here is a DESTINY DESTROYER. Not just your destiny will be affected, but his as well, if you entertain the thought of adultery. Think David and Uriah’s wife, Bethsheba in the Bible (2 Samuel 11 ). David committed adultery, and his life there after was not peaceful from then on… there is a heavy price to pay for such a sin and life changing mistake.

Hearing her story freaked me out because I was reminded of a time I liked a similar person. This person that I liked was “in the church” and I secretly liked this person for 7 years (Yeah, I know…why did I do that to myself?). The person appeared to (from my perspective) or seemed to like me back and sent out strong signals that he was attracted to me, but he never took action. Me being young and naive thought…that was just him being shy…but when I got the courage to confess (because I couldn’t stand waiting anymore), I was stopped by a few friends of his that were in the church as well who kind of indicated to me not to say anything. Long story short, I found out soon after that he was married and he had no intention of revealing that in the first place to me whatsoever until he had peer pressure from his friends forcing him to be accountable and come out with the truth. I thank God everyday for his God-fearing friends.

The moment he told me the truth I was devastated and immediately, all the feelings I had for him were completely gone. I was distraught beyond belief and felt like I had just wasted 7 years to end up with nothing, NOTHING😦. I was angry and completely emotional about the whole thing. The strange thing was, after confessing the truth that he was married, he all of a sudden started to show strong affections towards me that he never displayed before once he found out that I “liked” him, and started to pursue me in the church. Just like my friend’s situation, he was regretting not acting on his feelings or so it appeared. At this point, I didn’t have time for that so You know what I did? I RAN AWAY. That’s right I RAN AWAY and didn’t look back. He started to stalk me and that totally freaked me out, but thank God, his friends and family kept him at bay. I had to pray and fast to God to have this person removed from my life, and one day he simply just left the church. I sincerely pray and thank God for that because he seemed like he was not going to back down until he had what he wanted. It was like dealing with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The man had two personalities going on there that shocked me. I shudder when I recall the whole thing.temptation

I must say this, even if you pray for the person to be removed from your life, you might have to take drastic measures and simply remove yourself from the situation just to preserve your integrity. I’m not joking about this. You have to do whatever it takes in order to preserve yourself. Yes, it will hurt like hell, but trust me, you will see down the road that you did the right thing. I admit that initially when he started to show strong affections towards me, I did entertain the idea that maybe he married the wrong person” etc etc, yes, those thoughts did come across my mind, but who was I kidding but myself. I have no time to be in self-denial. He showed a dark obsessive side that I failed to see before and when God simply opened my spiritual eyes to see into the person, I saw something that freaked me out and I will never forget it for the rest of my life that it made me realize the devil will use anyone and anything to kill your destiny.

God loves us so much that He will show us the truth to preserve our lives, but we have to be willingly open to what God shows us in order to embrace the reality of the situation no matter how disappointed you may feel. I knew that God loved me enough to show me the truth of this person’s heart that he saved me from a life-time and possibly life-changing mistake. Think SAMSON….he entertained danger and made a life-changing, lifetime mistake when he allowed a DELILAH in his life.Overcoming_Temptation_Product_Image_1024x1024

Men, I urge you, do not allow crae-crae (crazy) women into your life. They can mess you up big time and give you a lifetime of pain. Ladies, don’t allow a man who promises and tells you sweet “nothings” to cause you to compromise your beliefs and where you stand in God. He is not worth it.

Albeit, I was devastated, I imploded on the inside and the funny thing was, God had shown me in some dreams that I had recorded that he was not what he appeared to be despite being in the “church”, but I was ignoring the interpretation because I wanted to “see the best in him”. Listen, love isn’t blind to the truth, we choose to be blinded by our emotions. We deceive our own hearts into accepting lies rather than seeing the truth for what it is. That whole experience inspired my “So You Lied to Me – Trust is Earned My Friend” post which is one of my very first posts for this blog that has always received huge hits because I’m sure many people have gone through this craziness.

DO NOT and I mean DO NOT COURT WITH DANGER.

I cannot emphasize this enough. As a single person in my thirties, I have come to know based on experience, that life is already short, why make it shorter by entertaining nonsense in our lives. The Devil’s agenda doesn’t change…he want’s to kill, steal and destroy you and the blessings God has for you in your life.

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Yes, you will be tempted, you will be deceived, you will be tricked, you will be put into situations that will test your integrity, but hold fast to the WORD OF GOD. That is the only thing that can save you. I know what it’s like to be heartbroken. I was heartbroken about the situation to the point I was grieved because I couldn’t believe that a person I liked, and supposedly a “Christian” person at that would not care about entertaining the idea of an “affair”. I’m not that girl, I’m not that woman that wants leftovers. I was so distraught that such a person didn’t realize how much I take my relationship with God seriously. It took me two years to get over it…I mean I loved the guy for 7 and I was in a state where I was repenting everyday and seeking God’s face to show me where I went wrong, how could I be deceived etc etc, and during that time I separated myself from a lot of people and contemplated suicide. I was withdrawn and needed to find myself again.

God is amazing in that He healed many parts of my broken heart that started me blogging in the first place. It took 2 years…but honestly, I’m glad I went through that experience. I was bitter and didn’t trust anybody, but honestly, God was showing me not to close myself off just because of this. I want to remain in right-standing and had to be like a modern-day Joseph and preserve mine integrity. I won’t lie, it does feel lonely at times doing the right thing when everybody else is just jumping to what’s good, but this is all about fighting for your DESTINY.  Hence, this is why I’m sharing this story now. Honestly, I would much prefer taking this story to my grave, but I feel led to share it here so that I pray that this story helps someone to see that there are things out there that are geared to destroy your destiny. Only you have the power to protect it with the decisions that you make. I’m not saying that it’ll be easy, in fact, it will be excruciatingly hard, but you can do it. God wants you to have an abundant life, don’t allow room to sin in areas that you know you cannot undo. Don’t entertain illicit affairs or relationships that are ungodly and unequal yokes. Don’t marry into a lifetime of unhappiness and pain. Wait on the Lord, and He will bless you in the fullness of time. I trust God with my future, so I implore you to put your future in God’s hands. Don’t allow the enemy to trap you and halt your destiny by entertaining danger. You know that saying that goes, “If you play with fire, you will get burned”. I know what it feels like to play with fire…but thank God I ran away from it so that I wouldn’t end up burned. Don’t play with fire is my message.

The Devil will attack you with feelings of “loneliness” to move you to do crazy things. It is so important to anchor yourself with the right people that share the same biblical-standards that you do, or are stronger than you in many areas that you are weak in. Isolation is not good for you because we are all created to be relational beings to begin with, so fellowship with strong Christians. Find mentorship with people that can guide you in the right direction. If you’re in my thirties like myself and thinking “Yo, my biological clock is tickin’ and nothing’s going on. I’m going to take matters into my own hands and do this thing my way”, let me stop you right there and tell you, if you ain’t praying to God about your spouse right now, I guarantee that you’ll attract trouble and trouble will find you. I may not be married right now and many of you might think I’m not qualified to say the things I’m saying, but it doesn’t matter. God’s Word stands firm forever. If you want to do things your way without consulting God on the matter, then be my guest, because I already have friends that compromised and fell into temptation and their lives are in chaos with what the devil brought in their direction. Understand this one thing, the Devil maximizes on the emotion we call “Loneliness” to trap you and get you to compromise. Don’t allow that feeling to trump reason, don’t allow that feeling to override what it means to do the “right thing”. Go to God when you feel empty, because it is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that He fills you. No person in this lifetime can fill or satisfy the void that is in your life and in your heart.

This message is for the single for both men and women, young or old.  There are things out there in life that are laid there as a trap to cause you to falter on your journey. These are what I call DESTINY DESTROYERS. Please, please, please, go to God if your are dealing with something like this. Find someone who will pray with you and assist you to stay on the right path. Avoid a life time of pain, Amen! This was indeed a difficult post for me to write because of my personal story, but I feel that someone needs to hear this and change their course to get back on track. I hope it helps somebody.

Here is a song from Hillsongs United called I Surrender. Surrender your life to God right now. If you’ve made some of these mistakes, go back to God and seek His face to help you get back on track. God Loves you and will help you get up again no matter how many times you’ve fallen. He cares about you and will do all that it takes to Protect your Destiny, Amen. I pray that this Song blesses your spirit today. God bless you everybody😀

Wake Up the Wonder

vain-worship

Hello People!

Did ya miss me? lol just kiddin’😀

I have a part 2 to my previous post regarding God’s PA review, but I won’t share it on here yet until I’ve ministered this message to my church this Friday. I feel like I can’t release the message just yet. You can wait right?:)

I thank the Holy Spirit for giving me a timely message. When I do share it this Friday, I pray that it may minister to somebody’s spirit. I’m in a place where God keeps revealing so many new messages that I need to record everything so that I don’t forget. I welcome questions and will try to answer them to the best of my ability. When God is speaking to you, have a notebook, or tablet or laptop to record these things. Save every detail that you remember so that you can continue to fine tune your ears to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to you the Church.

I entitled this post after Elevation Worship’s cd title Wake Up the Wonder (can you tell I’m still on this Elevation Worship tip…I just love them! lol:) ) because that is the main message. Wake up the wonder inside of you. This is the mystery that needs to be revealed to the World, that you have CHRIST in you, the hope of glory. You are the miracle that you seek, you are the answer to your own problem, and you are the answer that the world seeks. You are a revival starter. It all begins with you, so stop looking around when you should be looking in the mirror and seeing that the answer already arrived, the answer is YOU, Amen!😀

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

So in the mean time I want to post a song by Elevation Worship called The King Among Us.

It’s PA time with GOD, how did you measure up?

3289_1920x1080

Hello People!

You must be wondering “what’s up with the title today Sherline?” What does PA mean or stand for? For those of you who “work”, you know that this is the time of the year for Year-End reviews for Performance Appraisals. That’s what PA stands for, Performance Appraisal.

madeformovedark_grandeSo I got around to thinking, we work hard to prove why some of us are eligible for a promotion, a step up the ladder if you will, or a bonus and we create a list of things we’ve done throughout the year to prove that we have done all we can to move to the next level to upgrade our situation. At the same time though, there will be people in this mix that have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING to warrant a promotion, and yet with a self-entitled attitude, they’ll expect to move ahead with the “nothing” that they’ve had to offer. In some workplaces, you will see people unfairly passed on for promotions even though they’ve done the work to be rewarded for it and still have a bunch of lazy ones moving ahead simply because of “who they know” (Nepotism) and yet, when they land in such positions, their attitudes haven’t changed and they still continue with the bad behaviour they had in the previous role and are a train-wreck in the workplace. If you can relate to this, put one hand up somebody.😦

So let’s take a look at this with our own walk with God. I personally look at myself right now and cannot lie and say that I don’t need improvement. Yes, I’m in ministry, I have done outreach, organized events etc etc, but apart from these “activities”, I think God looks at us with a different set of evaluations and criteria.

GOD is ALWAYS looking at the HEART.

1 Samuel 16:7 (NKJV)

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees;[a] for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

When you look at Saul the “people pleaser” and David the “God chaser”, you can assess why God made and promoted David a simple shepherd boy to become King over Israel. In the workplace you may find those around you that kiss other people’s derrière (butt) just to move ahead and think that’s ok, but really, under God’s standards, that “people pleasing” behaviour is one that I do not believe God appreciates nor condones. When you simply do the right thing, that should be enough to reward you and elevate you, but that comes with the attitude of gratitude, patience and humility. Please refer back to my Humility will Promote You in your Destiny post.

Matthew 23:12

And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

[ The Humbled and Exalted Christ ] Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,

I cannot stress how HUMILITY is key for the sake of promotion. I know a lot of unfair things can happen in the workplace or even in ministry, or in life for that matter, but at the same time, you must maintain your INTEGRITY. My grandparents and parents always say this to me and my sisters and I will repeat this to my own kids (some day when I have them) and you my readers that “Do things as if you are doing them unto the Lord”. Don’t try to exalt yourself before men by being a “people pleaser”. You will operate as a person with NO STANDARDS. You will be wishy-washy wavering between TWO OPINIONS (1 Kings 18:21). And you know what the double-minded man is like in the Bible? It says that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. Do you want to be like that? I don’t think so.  When you act in humility, you will always operate with the mind of Christ. You must always remember that.

he is a doubleminded man, unstable in all his ways.

tumblr_lzdw33cpad1qhmhdfo1_500Therefore, assess yourself by GOD’s STANDARDS. I’m not talking about just in ministry, or in the workplace, but in every area of your life. Be honest with yourself. If you had to rate yourself between 1-10, where would you really sit? As much as some of us prepare for our elevation speeches during our PA discussions with our bosses, you must prepare yourself before God. I will speak for myself and say that even though I’ve grown spiritually with some of my giftings, God is always looking at my heart. Do I love His people enough? I feel that I need improvement in this area. It doesn’t matter how many people I’ve ministered too, the question is always on the basis of God’s perspective, not my own perspective of the matter. I always have to rate myself in the Love-meter of God’s evaluation. If in God’s eyes, I can do better, then I myself, must do better and not be satisfied with my current status-quo.

I CAUTION YOU: Do not be deceived by people’s flattery of your achievements, if God sees that you’re not on the right path, then no amount of compliments from people can change God’s evaluation of YOU at that point. So always, measure yourself through God’s lenses, and not simply rely on other people’s opinion of how good you are right about now. Otherwise, you’ll end up like Saul puffed up with PRIDE and ready for God’s DEMOTION. I don’t think you want that now do you? Remain humble at all times.

How many people know that in the workplace, it doesn’t matter how skilled you are sometimes even though having skills is important, employers prize those with “soft-skills” which are referred to as “people skills” and “relationship-building” skills. If in the world those skills are important and are enough to promote people at times, then the same applies with God. How do you treat His people? Are you a relationship builder or a self-interested individual looking to climb over others just to move ahead in life? Be very honest with yourself and do some serious self-inventory of your life.

but-god-looks-at-the-heartThe mistakes some people make when they go for PA evaluations with their bosses is that they do not assess themselves at all. Some people even think that they have nothing to improve upon because they’re comfortable with the bare minimum and wonder why they are passed on for promotions. God is the same. He is always evaluating our performance everyday of our lives. He assess us through our hearts. If you have bitterness issues, then make it a point to work on that this year, if you’ve got self-esteem issues, then work on that this year, if you lack knowledge in a certain area, then upgrade yourself and go to school, read up on stuff, find out what you need to know and seek out resources that have the answers you need in order to become fully effective. If you are jealous of your brother or sister who is moving up, then you’ve got to get that checked out pronto. God will not deal with a jealous-spirited person kindly. I’m just being real with you on that one.

NO ONE, and I mean absolutely NO ONE can do all these necessary self-assessments for you, except YOU. So if you’re upset as to why certain things haven’t happened in your life, then you’ve got to realize that you need to do something different, otherwise you’ll be stuck in a cycle of insanity. Understand, that when you start your own self-evaluations, talk to the Holy Spirit. He has a way of being brutally honest with you and will convict you of areas that require improvement. I tend to fast and pray when I need to hear from the Holy Spirit and I totally recommend it if you need to hear clearly as to what it is that you need to do differently in order to see positive results occur in your life.

Understand, that with your limited level of understanding, you simply don’t have all the answers to move forward, so go to God who has all the answers, Amen! Don’t worry about where you are right now, just understand that when you start chasing God, like David did, He will accelerate somethings in your life that should’ve taken years to happen, but you have to remain humble until that time. Also, be aware that with promotion comes responsibility. Are you up for the task??? Seriously assess and ask yourself these questions before hounding God about wanting a promotion. God’s method can be so out of this world and mind-blowing that if He can turn a simple shepherd-boy (David) into a King overnight, then what say you about YOU? It’s okay to seek wise counsel as well, but at the end of the day, you need to be very God-reliant and humble enough to seek God’s advice for yourself so that He can direct your path, Amen!😀

So my main message is, be a “GOD CHASER” for your PA review with GOD. Don’t be a “people pleaser” before God, because I guarantee that if that’s they way you’ve been doing life right about now, you will be demoted just like King Saul was…and his ending was quite tragic…I just want you to be aware of the ramifications of that behaviour. Be a GOD CHASER people. That’s my goal in life and I pray that that’s yours too.:)

I have a song from Elevation Worship that’s been in my spirit called Here as in Heaven.  I pray that this song ministers to your spirit today. God Bless you everybody!😀

We are a Move of God!

fire1

Hello Everybody!

It’s so late right now, in fact it’s like past 1:44 am, but I had to share this song before I head to bed. This song by Elevation Worship  is sooooooo off the hook… ok, it’s like out of this world amaaaaazing  that my spirit is soooo shook up that I had to share it with y’all. It’s called Evidence.

I believe that the Lord wants someone to know that you are that special move of God. So many people are wanting God to move “something”, but fail to realize that you are that “something”that needs to move, in fact you are something even better, you are that “someone”. You have to be moved by God’s Spirit that causes you to do the impossible and make it possible. Stop waiting for someone to encourage you to move, the Spirit of God is saying “Move” because you are able, you can, you should and you WILL.

You are the miracle that you’re waiting to see. Believe it, because you are the evidence that Jesus is alive, and He is inside you. God is AWESOME!😀

Give a Shout of PRAISE!!!!!! HALLLELLLLUUUYYYAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!😀

I pray that this song blesses your Spirit. Love ya!😀

Learn to Stay in Your Lane

Stay in your lane

Hello People!

Happy Sunday! I’m still trying to get over the jetlag believe it or not. Lord help me now! lol.😀

01454baeb76a64bf08ca3070349734c8Today’s post comes from experience. How many times have you driven (if you drive that is) and had someone cut you off and either:

1) slow down the moment they did that, or

2) they drive in such a way that they make it almost nearly impossible for you to overtake them?😦

If you are a driver, holla! As a fellow driver, I know how annoying that can be. Some people even do things to get you into road rage, but the thing is, you’ve got to remain calm. Well that’s what any good driving instructor would ever tell you. Honestly, I should speak for myself because sometimes, I’m like “get off the road!” if I see careless driving skills going on. Father, Help ME NOW! lol😀

tumblr_md8u5oz12c1qhmhdfo1_500Listen, sometimes people will do that to you in life. There will be people competing with you unnecessarily in your life trying to overtake you to show you how supposedly “better” they are than you at something. Some people may even antagonize you to speed with them and race them, but you shouldn’t fall for that nonsense. Just keep it real cool and stay in your lane! You don’t need to be tricked into getting into an accident with them. The mistakes I see people make is that when people are competing with others for attention or promotion that’s headed your way, they do things to try and make you mess up to make you miss your blessing which is your destination.

Don’t allow a fool on the road of your life to mess up the direction you are heading by being distracted by their shenanigans. There will be people trying to prove that they are better than you at something, but your job is to remain focused on the road you have to take. If they overtake you, let them…continue at a safe distance behind and remember, that just because they’re in front of you doesn’t mean they know where you’re going. When they aren’t paying too much attention, you’ll overtake them, just give it time because the road you are traveling on is one less traveled.

I believe that God is taking certain people to roads less traveled. Having said that though, you will have bad drivers in your life trying to follow you, overtake you, aggravate you as you pursue your destiny/destination. You have to stay on your lane to get to where you need to be. Those that compete with you are direction-less and mindless people that don’t know how to “stay in their lane”. When you allow God to be your GPS (Godly Positioning System), He will take you to places that will help you avoid all these obstacles. You need Emotional Strength to be a great driver. Don’t always react to every crazy driver that tries to pull stunts while you remain on the right path. God has given you a path to take, so continue in it.

d476a3477856cef4477ac1ac6518e2a9I remember being in a car accident a few years ago. I was hit by a bus and a huge SUV in the winter time at that. It’s a wonder why I’m still alive and all in one piece. Obviously, I give God the credit for it😀 . But what I want to say is that, there may even be people  in your life who will try to abort your destiny by trying to crash into you. That is when you need the Holy Spirit’s help to preserve your destiny. You need discernment and wisdom to continue your journey. That accident I went through like 5 years ago was insane. I had to go through soo much therapy to be back in shape again. I still suffer some back issues because of it, but I don’t allow the past to stop me from jumping back into my car and continue the course.

You see, sometimes, people will crash into you hoping that you won’t recover and continue your journey. In some cases, they hope that you die from the accident, which I think was the case for me, but praise God, I’m still here. Let me tell you, that with God on your side, nothing by any means can stop you from achieving what you need to achieve. Yes, like me who was in that accident, you might be delayed on the journey, but God will heal you and it will be up to you at that point to not be paralyzed by the fear of the accident to keep you continuing the journey.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

tumblr_meepy1JYLU1qhmhdfo1_500Some people encounter stuff like that in their lives and never drive again, but I’m a person that has too much destiny to stay put…I’ll continue moving forward and so should you. Don’t let the past hold you back from pursuing the future. Don’t let anybody’s mistake hold you back either. Just because people don’t like where you’re headed doesn’t mean that they have the capacity to hold you back from your destination.Don’t give people too much power over your destiny. Give your destiny into God’s Hands, and He will preserve you throughout the entire journey. Ask the Lord to give you the spirit of wisdom and understanding to take you safely to your destination. You have to put your trust in God.

The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

Sometimes, you’ll encounter busy-bodies who are all up in your business wanting to know “where are you going?”. Remember my previous post about Wisdom in the Season where I talked about being DISCREET?  Those are the times where you need to keep your mouth shut because such people are the same types of people that try to overtake you, ram into you and do crazy things while you are on your journey to your destination. You haven’t got the time for that.

15-1Yes, people will be jealous of you and will want to travel along side you to see if they can obtain the promise that God has for you when you get to your destination, but let me tell you, they have no right to what’s yours if they never worked their faith as hard as you have to obtain it. No one has the right to steal or overtake you thinking they can simply beat you to what God has planned for you. These people are “haters” and God will cause such people to take detours out of your life simply because you are putting your trust in God. I like the saying I heard one Nigerian say which is what I’ll say to you here in this post, and that is to all your haters, they can “sit-down, one-side, to the back” of your life since God will direct your path to a place where you will prosper and be in good health as your soul prospers. Because Jesus is the GPS in your life, He will take you to the roads that will rid you of all the crazy drivers out there that want to give you hell on the road while you are on your journey. Just keep trusting God, Amen!

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

There is a song that is in my spirit right now by Hillsong Worship called Open Heaven (River Wild). You need to surrender to the Holy Spirit in order for God to direct your path, Amen!

I pray that this song blesses your spirit today.😀
