DESTINY HAS NO COMPETITION


I just had to post this short but very sobering post found on The Mahdeebah Blog about our attitudes when we find ourselves competing with each other. We must learn to focus on our personal goals rather than be distracted by those that appear to be far ahead of us in life. Stay in your lane and focus on where you ought to go rather than get misdirected by focusing on someone else’s path that leads to a different direction. Many people find themselves lost trying to imitate and achieve what others have by competing with them rather than choosing to be grateful for what they do have and work with what they’ve got in order to achieve their desired results. Stick to your lane.

I was jogging this morning and I noticed a person about 1/2 a kilometer ahead.I could tell he was running a little slower than me and I thought, good, I shall try to catch him.I had about a kilometer before I needed to turn off. So I started running faster and faster.Every block, I was gaining on him just a little bit. After just a few minutes I was only about 100 meters behind him, so I really picked up the pace and pushed myself.You would have thought I was running in the last leg of an Olympic competition. I was determined to catch him.Finally, I did it! I caught and passed him. On the inside, I felt so good. “I beat him” Of course, he didn’t even know we were racing, as Dr Ben narrated.
