What Can God Trust You With?

Hello Peeps!

Today, my contemplation comes from the following verse of Scripture:

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.

Often times, when we pray to God, we always hope that God will answer our prayers and various requests; however, on the flip-side, when God calls us to simply be obedient and follow His leading by giving us specific instructions on doing something specifically “His Way”, and then fail to follow His instructions, is it then any wonder why we can’t obtain the greater blessings in our lives? The fact is, obedience is the key to obtaining the greater promises of God in our lives.

1 Samuel 15:22 [Full Chapter]

But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.

Don’t be asking to “hear from the Holy Spirit” if you have no intention of obeying His voice in the first place once you hear it.

You must be wondering: How do I differentiate between the voice of the Holy Spirit from my own inner voice or a contrary voice that comes from a demonic source masquerading as the voice of the Holy Spirit?.

You need to meditate on the Word of God to know what God says is “right” and “wrong” in order to discern the difference concerning when what you hear is in alignment to God’s will for your life or not. When God gives instructions, He doesn’t instruct us to do things that are contrary to His own Word (The Bible). He wouldn’t instruct you to do something that will cause you to sin. Any instruction that is impressed upon your heart to do something that contradicts the Word of God is an instruction voiced by a false spirit/ or a deceiving spirit masquerading as the Holy Spirit.

I know based on my own personal experience that obeying the voice of the Holy Spirit isn’t always a simple task. Sometimes, He asks me to do things that don’t always make any sense to me, but whenever I have obeyed what I’ve heard, I have always seen a positive outcome. Learning to hear from the Holy Spirit comes from learning to obey simple instructions and following through on those instructions through your actions. If you can be trusted with a small instruction, then you will eventually learn how to obey even larger and probably more difficult instructions in the future.

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.

Prayer and fasting is what we need to do in order to hear from God and obey the instructions we receive as we meditate on His Word (The Bible). However, I will state again, it is one thing to hear from God, but the real question for us is, will we obey His instructions once we have heard the delivered message from God?

Many people want to “Hear from God”, but what they really need to ask themselves (if they really want to be real with God) is that once you have heard from God, will you be willing to obey the instructions once received?

We have to fear God (reverentially) to a degree that when we feel convicted in our spirit to do something, we simply do it without question. I know based on personal experience that most of the times, even after having prayed and fasted, once God has impressed an instruction on my heart to do something, when I find myself ignoring His voice and by being disobedient, He won’t let me sleep well at night until I’ve obeyed His voice. The moment I do what He wants me to do, I can sleep well at night. Sometimes, the things He asks me to do are simple tasks like interpreting a person’s dream, or giving a word of warning to someone, or He sometimes tells me something that I need to change in my life as He convicts my spirit. God has various ways of communicating His instructions towards me. I simply have to recognize His voice and obey when the Spirit of God leads me to do something out of obedience and inner conviction.

I have learned to cultivate that type of relationship with the Lord by meditating on God’s Word, Praying and Fasting and simply being obedient to follow through on the instructions that He impresses on my heart to do through visions, dreams or by Him impressing a thought in my head to do something. That is the type of relationship I have cultivated over time on a personal basis in order to hear directly from the Holy Spirit. It started off with small instructions, but over time as I have increased in my faith in God, the Lord will sometimes give me even more challenging tasks to do as I continue to walk in the path of Faith. We can only be trusted with much more once we have learned to obey the small tasks that He has given us to do. So for today, question where you are with respect to your FAITH LEVEL in God.

I believe that the level of faith a person may currently have is determined by the level of reverential fear they have for the Lord.

If you don’t fear God enough to obey a simple instruction, then don’t expect greater things to happen in your life. The more you reverentially fear the Lord and obey the instructions that you are willing to receive from the Lord, the more you’ll become spiritually sensitive to hear clearly from the voice of the Holy Spirit and increase in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as you continue to walk by faith and not by sight.

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Fasting and praying will be very beneficial for you to get into the practice of doing in your personal life in order to greatly sharpen your ability to distinguish, discern and hear from the voice of the Holy Spirit. So for today, make it a personal goal to focus on seeking to develop a deeper relationship with God in order to sharpen your discernment and spiritual sensitivity to hear and obey the instructions that you receive from the Holy Spirit, Amen! I have a song by Passion called Even So Come to minister to your spirit today. I pray that this song blesses your spirit today. God Bless You Everybody! 😀
