Hello Peeps!
Today, I want to talk about being specific in your prayer life. Sometimes people pray vague prayers and get disappointed when nothing they have asked for was answered in the way that they wanted. Sometimes the reason why some prayers are not answered in the way we want them to be answered is in the way in which we pray. Are we vague in what we request from God or are we SPECIFIC?
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
Don’t get disappointed so quickly at God for not answering your prayers if you’ve been very vague in your requests. Let’s just say as an example that you are praying to God to help you buy the perfect car for your needs. You don’t want just any car, you want a car that’s got an automatic transmission, with 4 doors, 5 cylinders, with leather seats and tinted windows with a silver finish on the body of the car and it has to be a BMW in terms of its make.
Just looking at the description I’ve typed out with regards to the specs of a car is just an example of how to pray with specificity.
Don’t be praying to God that you want “a car” without being specific as to what type of car you really desire and then when He gives you one that is not exactly what you wanted, you start to grumble continuously being angry at God for giving you what you call a “dud” of a car and yet your prayer was answered. Just because you weren’t specific from the very beginning of your prayer, you start to moan and groan and become ungrateful for what you actually do receive as a blessing from God.
We have to become mature and mindful of the fact that sometimes, we don’t always get what we have specifically asked for because sometimes we ask amiss and God ends up giving us something even better than what we have asked for. It’s all a matter of perspective and also a matter of our attitude in terms of gratitude. Are we grumblers and complainers to God, or are we humble and grateful for what God actually does for us daily in the long run? Our attitude in life will determine the types of blessings we will receive and achieve in this life. It’s just like that saying which goes: “Your attitude will determine your altitude” – basically, this means that the way in which you think and conduct yourself will determine how far in life you’ll actually go, so determine to be respectful, grateful and graceful in all that you do in life and you will achieve great success when you honor God and have God on your side.
You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
So when you pray to God, be mindful about not being vague in your requests. Another example of this could be about praying about wanting a spouse/marriage. Be specific about what it is you are looking for in your prayer life and then dedicate that prayer to God so that He can guide you to the right person in your life. I don’t think that we need to overthink prayer, nor should we underestimate its power when we become specific as to what it is that we truly desire. God knows our hearts more than ourselves, and He knows exactly what is right for us so at the end of your prayers always remember to seek God’s will for your life and not your own because God’s will for your life is to prosper you and to be in good health as your soul prospers.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
I know that God can confirm His will in various methods to His people through visions, dreams, signs and wonders. I know that when I’m heading in the right direction, God gives me dreams (multiple dreams for confirmation). Sometimes, I see visions and I witness signs around me when I feel like something is about to occur or happen. Be grateful for any gifts of the Holy Spirit that the Lord gives you as you grow in your faith in God.
Serve God with Spiritual Gifts
3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel.
I want to post this cool song by Trip Lee called Lights On. I really love the beat of this song. It’s just kickin’. I pray that this song blesses your Spirit today. God Bless You Everybody! 😀
So true. We need to learn to pray on point.
Why we pray amiss is that we only pray for our own issues without praying to get things to be used to for the gospel.
If we pray without including what we will use our blessings for, we might not receive.
Nice one. Good day.
