Hello Everybody!
Today, I want to post this wonderful song called Holy Spirit by Tina Campbell known to be one of the sisters that sing as a duet in Mary Mary. The Holy Spirit is considered as the “Third Person” of God since we have: (1) “God the Father”; (2) “God the Son”; and then (3) “God the Holy Spirit”. The Holy Spirit is described by Jesus as “The Helper” in John 14:26 and is also referred to as “the Spirit of truth” in John 15:26.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
[ The Coming Rejection ] “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
The Holy Spirit comes upon us when we become baptized by water. Water Baptism allows us to acknowledge, confirm and affirm our Faith in Jesus as we wash away our past selves and renew our minds with a new found faith in Christ as our Saviour. No longer do we walk with the old and worldly mind-set because now we have found a new life and a new mindset that is purpose-driven to walk in the light of God’s Word which is found in The BIBLE.
The Baptism of Fire comes upon us when the Holy Spirit starts to ignite the gifts of the Holy Spirit in our lives whether it be by speaking in tongues, prophesying, evangelism, gifts of healing, the ability to deliver people from demonic oppression (deliverance ministry), interpretation of tongues, seeing visions and dreams and being able to interpret these dreams and visions, and the list goes on. I believe that as believers, we ought to be functioning in any one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. If we aren’t operating in any of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as a manifestation of our faith, then I think that as people we need to consider that something isn’t lining up in our lives if none of these gifts provided by the Holy Spirit is functioning whatsoever in our lives. I don’t believe as Christians, that we ought to be passive about the workings of the Holy Spirit. If anything, as believers we should be manifesting the fruits of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives.
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
So for today, the message I am stressing in this post today is that us Christians need to be repentant in order to function in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Without repentance, I highly doubt that a person could function with the gifts of the Holy Spirit at its full potential if we allow sin to keep us in bondage. The Holy Spirit can flow in a Christian’s life when a Christian makes it a point to operate in the realm of seeking to live a holy and godly life, a life filled with sanctification, a life seeking to operate with the mind of Christ Jesus, a life that is in pursuit of virtue and a life that seeks to be like Jesus in every way through conduct, deeds and actions. I believe that this is what we ought to do; pursue righteousness and Godliness as a way of life so that the Lord can use us to do miraculous things. If we don’t pursue such virtues, then don’t we fall short of the Glory of God? Let us pursue God like King David did in the Bible and run after God’s heart so that we can become more and more like Him in all that we say and do, Amen! Meditate on this today and I pray that this song by Tina Campbell blesses your spirit today. God bless You Everybody 😀 !
