Transition to Elevation – by Minister Sherline

Hello Everybody!

This is part 2 of the God’s PA Review message that I promised I would share on here. This Post was taken from a message I shared tonight at church. It is posted on my church’s website livingproofcentre.org . I do believe that the message is timely and I pray that it blesses somebody today. Be encouraged, Amen! 😀

When you look into the Bible, there are many situations where you encounter people that experienced a “Transition into Elevation”.

What is the meaning of Transition?

It is a movement, passage, or change from one position, state, stage, subject, concept, etc., to another; change: the transition from adolescence to adulthood.

 What is to Elevate?

  1. to move or raise to a higher place or position; lift up.
  2. to raise to a higher state, rank, or office; exalt; promote:

to elevate an archbishop to cardinal.

  1. to raise to a higher intellectual or spiritual level.

The examples that I can think of are:

  • From Shepherd to King – David – 1 Samuel 16: 1-13 (Read this whole)
  • From Prisoner to Leader – Joseph – Genesis 41
  • From Slave to Free – The children of Israel – Exodus 14
  • From Barren to Fruitful – Hannah, Prophet Samuel’s Mother – 1 Samuel 1
  • From Cursed to Blessed – Jabez- Enlarged my territory and bless me indeed – 1 Chronicles 4:10
  • From Enemy to Follower – Saul to Paul – Acts 9
  • From Sickness to Wholeness – The woman with the issue of blood – Matthew 9:20-22
  • From Death to Life – Jesus – Matthew 28; Mark 16; Luke 24

downloadSometimes, transitions into elevation seem to be anti-climactic, because as Steven Furtick said (Head Pastor of Elevation Church) in his New Year’s 2016 sermon, we are typically building anticipation for the event, but once the event happens, we tend to feel no different and yet we’ve elevated.

We’ve risen to a new level, we’ve reached a new height, we moved from point A to point B.

I wrote a blog post entitled It’s PA time with GOD, how did you measure up?” and in that blog I talked about how God measures our performance. If you have a job, you know that you’ll go through a Performance Appraisal.

A follower of my blog asked a question:

She asked me “How do you know when you have been shifted by God to a new level?”

2b4af4f9ac202d785cf3346f824b928aThere are signs everywhere that you have shifted but at the same time the transition may also feel very anti-climactic, meaning that it will feel like as if nothing has happened and yet you’ve moved into a different level. I’ll give you an example, it’s like graduating from high school or college, your excitement will be in the anticipation of that transition from student to graduate, but after the graduation party, you’ll feel no less different and yet you’ve transitioned from being a student to a graduate. You’ve moved up and yet you will feel nothing different because transitions are not based on “feelings”, they’re based on where God wants you to go. So there will be signs that you’ve moved to another level, i.e. your associations/friends/peers may change their attitude about you, new people will enter into your life, new doors start opening for you that didn’t in the last season. With every level, there are new things that happen that didn’t occur in your previous season. That’s why when God elevates you through the Word of His Mouth (be it from a prophet, preacher, minister etc), it is already done. You may not feel like anything happened but think of David, he was a shepherd boy and after he was anointed by the prophet Samuel, he was immediately transitioned into becoming a King but it took him a while from hiding from Saul to take up the throne. So even though it seems like nothing has happened, the signs were around David in that the moment he was anointed, his friendly relationship with Saul became one as an enemy overnight. Your friends/family/peers will change their attitude about you when God elevates you to the next level. I hope what I’m saying makes sense. Yes, it will feel lonely, but David went through that as well in the Bible, so just understand that when you act in obedience, there is a reward for your obedience. So understand that the shift you experienced was meant to happen. If you are moved by the Spirit of God, you will do things that will change your status as you continue to act in obedience. Transitions have nothing to do with feelings, they have everything to do with where God wants to take you.

Man has a standard of evaluations, and so does God. Man’s standard has a series of criteria, and so does God.

However, the way in which God evaluates us is by using this one criterion. Can you imagine that His evaluation is simply based on this one aspect of our life and that is that He evaluates us by our Heart?

Why does God evaluate us through our Heart?

Here are some of the reasons that He evaluates us using our Heart. Take note that this is not an exhaustive list:

  1. Your Heart has a voice:

Luke 6:45

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

  1. Your Heart reveals the issues you have in your life:

Proverbs 4:23

Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

  1. Your Heart can be hardened like stone and it can also be softened into flesh:

 Ezekiel 36:26

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

  1. Your Heart reveals what you desire:

 Matthew 6:21

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Deuteronomy 14:26

And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the Lord your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household.

  1. You think through your Heart:

Proverbs 23:7

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.

  1. Your Heart can be stirred to move by God’s will:

Exodus 35:21-22

21 Then everyone came whose heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willingand they brought the Lord’s offering for the work of the tabernacle of meeting, for all its service, and for the holy garments.22 They came, both men and women, as many as had a willing heartand brought earrings and nose rings, rings and necklaces, all jewelry of gold, that is, every man who made an offering of gold to the Lord.

  1. Your Heart can be stirred by Wisdom to give:

8e41428c9d50a1cebce4ba466c3eff92Exodus 36:1-3

36 “And Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whom the Lord has put wisdom and understanding, to know how to do all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, shall do according to all that the Lord has commanded.”

The People Give More than Enough

Then Moses called Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whose heart the Lord had put wisdom, everyone whose heart was stirred, to come and do the work. And they received from Moses all the offering which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of making the sanctuary. So they continued bringing to him freewill offerings every morning.

  1. Your Heart harbours all your emotions:

Such as Discouragement, Fear, Love, Hate, Courage etc etc

  1. Your Heart either holds on to the Truth or holds onto a pack of Lies:

1 Kings 3:6

heartAnd Solomon said: “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

Psalm 15:2

He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart;

James 3:14

But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.

  1. Your Heart will always be tested by the Lord:

 Deuteronomy 8:2

And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

  1. Your Heart can be deceived or you can be deceitful in your own Heart:

 Deuteronomy 11:16

“Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them,

Proverbs 17:20

He who has a deceitful heart finds no good, And he who has a perverse tongue falls into evil.

Jeremiah 17:9

“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?

  1. Your Heart reveals your loyalties:

1 Kings 8:61

Let your heart therefore be loyal to the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes and keep His commandments, as at this day.”

god-is-looking-at-your-heart

In Conclusion:

The Lord searches all Hearts:

 1 Chronicles 28:9

“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.

Jesus knocks at the door of our Hearts and therefore knows our intentions. We cannot fool God when the Word is what He uses to measure where we stand.

 Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Here is a Song from Hillsongs United called Here Now to minister to your Spirit as you reflect on renewing a right spirit in your heart to make your Heart become like flesh to hear and feel the heart of the Father who is God.

  1. What a wonderful and timely post. I was blessed to know that you posted your response to my question. I want to share a progress report about that:

Truly God is Great and the evidence of transitioning to a new level in the Lord is this, you are even more hungry for him, you become conscious of a deeper anointing, You are moving in more power. You crave more understanding wisdom and knowledge, you are not satisfied with the status quo. What sustained you in your last season/place will not do anymore. God knows when you are ready.

But you are also more sensitive to his Spirit,What every is your primary gifting gets stronger, weightier. If you are a prophet/seer your range of sight may increase. That is what happened to me. You will be sharper! You may discover a new gift that you were not aware of. If you grieve him in any way, It feels terrible.

Your level of warfare increases too! But thankfully God has given every believer a unique measure of talents, time and resources to accomplish his will during our life.
We are equipped to deal with anything that may come our way. All praises belong to our King Jesus!

    • Wow Hazel. God seems to be making you sharper and stronger as you seek Him. Continue to pursue Him with undaunted faith. Something is shifting His people to places people have not even imagined. I think or should I say I believe, there is a supernatural shifting that’s opening doors that were shut closed before. These doors are now opening because there is a bell ringing in the spirit telling God’s people to move now. I pray that people don’t miss the signs because the time is now. Uncommon favour and uncommon spiritual awakenings will thrust people into position. It’s all about the timing. You are right to say that the level of warfare does increase. I definitely am feeling it, however, Let God be praised. His Name overpowers every scheme thrown against His people that choose to follow His voice. I believe that those that seek Him, will not only find Him, but He will reward them with things they never thought they could achieve before. God bless you sis 🙂

This is powerful, you have identified exactly how I feel right now! Awakened!
Ephesians 5:14-18Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

14 Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light.
15 Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people),
16 Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil.
17 Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is.
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit.

Bless you my sister, I thank God for your wisdom. I am blessed to be ministered to by the next generation! Those people will go forth will be even greater, they will be sharper, stronger, and swifter, they will impact all of the cultural mountains. Because it will take all that and more for the times we are in. They will complete what the last generation didn’t. Older people like me will encourage them to go forth and conquer. To stand in the gap and pray for them, to do spiritual reconnaissance ( that was a word the Holy Spirit gave me recently ) and God is with you, the enemy will be but bread for you.

Stay focused, keep your eyes on Jesus, keep your ear to his mouth!

    • I love the verse of scripture you wrote here. That is exactly what’s going on. Ephesians 5 touches exactly what’s going on right now. My thinking is that what God is doing isn’t necessarily for the next generations, its for all generations that are alive right now. Sometimes we keep fanning the flame for the next generation, but the Holy Spirit has impressed on my spirit that the move is for all those generations that are presently alive. some people we have hope for in the next generation may miss it so the dispensation isn’t for just the “next” generation, it’s for those that are willingly seeking God’s face. Age, Sex, race or creed will have nothing to do with the move, because the Spirit works all in all. The question is who’s waiting? who’s Watching and who is listening to the next instruction?

34 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
