Worship Sunday: Give Me You

Happy Sunday Everybody!

I have an awesome song for you today by Shana Wilson called Give Me You. When I heard this song I just fell in love with it. The Lyrics are so simple and yet so profound. I’ll post them below for those interested in the song. I pray that this song ministers to your heart, your spirit and your mind today. God bless you Everybody!

Give me You.
Everything else can wait.
Give me You.
I hope I’m not too late.

Lord, give me You.
Lord, give me You.
Lord, give me You.
Lord, give me You.

It’s me oh, Lord.
I’m on my knees.
Crying out to You.
It’s me oh, Lord.
I’m on my knees.
So, give me You.
Give me You..

    • I agree! she has strong vocal range that it sounds similar. However. Whitney’s voice is one of a kind. She hit high notes that not many people are able to reach without sounding like a screeching owl lol.

Shana’s voice is absolutely anointed. It ministers to my soul.

  3. Can someone help me with what she’s saying when she says I hope I’mean not to late? I’very always been afraid to lead a congregation into this song and have someone come against thone lyrics, but because I don’t know what she’s trying to say, I wouldn’t be able to defend myself.

    • Hi Brady,
check out the youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrWeI-z4jV0 it has the songs lyrics.

Basically, the song is like a prayer asking the Lord to give up time of Himself to the person because the person wants the Lord’s attention (that’s why “everything else can wait” is in the lyrics). And I assume that the “I hope I’m not too late” part of the lyrics refers to a person calling on the Lord for His time. Sometimes, we don’t spend enough time praying to God and communicating to Him through prayer that when we finally understand that we truly do need Him, we hope that it’s not too late to have His attention since we as people can ignore God for a long time. So I think it is more of a plea for the Lord’s attention acknowledging how sometimes we as people can ignore Him until we really need Him.

I hope that makes sense to you 🙂
