Believing for the Best that is Yet to Come

Prepare your heart for Harvest. You have to do your part in order to reap the rewards of your labor. The Scripture that comes to mind when I thought this was:

Proverbs 20:4
The lazy man will not plow because of winter; He will beg during harvest and have nothing.

In preparation of the 21 Day Daniel Fast, we are all planting and sowing spiritual seeds for a physical and spiritual manifestation of God’s Presence in our lives in this year of DIVINE GOVERNANCE. I recommend Tarisai’s post regarding the insight to this special year of DIVINE GOVERNANCE and WISDOM that brings ORDER.

I will repeat myself and say that do not do things in vain if you don’t have a heart that is expecting. Your mind, your spirit, your soul should be expecting during this Fast if you are participating. Let me tell you that each year when I face the 21 Day Fast, I always seem to struggle with Fasting my Tea. I love Tea like you cannot believe and to think that I won’t have it for 21 days straight is going to be wow for me, and I mean WOW!!! I’m a person who drinks it morning, noon and night — thanks to my Grandpa lol. I am still preparing my mind for the withdrawal symptoms lol.  There are other things besides tea that I have to set aside but the whole point is, the Fast is a sacrifice of fleshy desires to gain things that are Spiritual.

The fleshy things of this world can be likened to drugs. Sometimes you have no idea what you’ve fed your body  in a spiritual, soulful and physical sense until you starve it by fasting on the things that you’re use to. We can be junkies of the fleshy stuff and when we start to set aside those things on our spiritual journey, God starts to shake all that junk out of your system as a means of purification which is another form of CONSECRATION. So the Daniel Fast isn’t just a warfare Fast, it is also a time of Consecration. You set aside the things that the world feeds you to obtain the things that God wants to feed you in your spirit-man.

Sometimes people want things of the Spirit without putting effort into working for it. Relationships with people are hard work and even cultivating a relationship with God takes work. Many of us must move away from always expecting stuff from God without having a relationship with Him. Would you like it if you had a friend that always took stuff from you but after receiving what they wanted from you, they ignore you and act like you aren’t there until they need yet another thing from you? This is how some people have treated God on many occasions. People enjoy the blessings of God without the relationship. Let’s face it, people can be incredibly selfish.

Deuteronomy 7:12
[ Blessings of Obedience ] “Then it shall come to pass, because you listen to these judgments, and keep and do them, that the LORD your God will keep with you the covenant and the mercy which He swore to your fathers.

Deuteronomy 28:1
[ Blessings on Obedience ] “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.

These are two sets of blessings that come from OBEDIENCE. This isn’t just a personal blessing but a generational one. We must pursue GENERATIONAL BLESSINGS.

Let me tell you that Fasting isn’t easy and I’ll be the first to say that in the past, I slipped up during this fast because the withdrawal was soo intense and I succumbed to eating that which I shouldn’t because I was immature and also inexperienced, so even now I will not claim to be a pro on this at all. I had to learn a lot through practicing personal fasts which I do periodically in the year now and the discipline I obtain from that has helped me realize that it is achievable and it can be done. So do not feel discouraged if or when you slip up in this fast, just recognize that it takes mental preparation, discipline and personal determination and resolve. Do things with purpose and with expectation. Always expect the best that is yet to come for you are sowing seeds for a great Harvest in your spiritual journey with the Lord. This is a relationship building activity as it is a spiritual one. Be encouraged and work your Faith out. Perseverance is the Key here.

I have yet another awesome song to fill you today. It is again from Deitrick Haddon called Power. Fill your spirit with prayer, praise and worship so that you maintain the focus on the One helping you to Gain that which He has in the palm of His hand. God has not intention of withholding anything Good from you when you seek His face. So Seek diligently with great expectation. Registered & Protected

  1. Love the post Sherline, thank you for sharing it. I want to try the Fast, but I need to make sure my health is in check before I try it since I take so many medication, but I know GOD will provide for me. I need to learn more on Fasting so I hope you do share your experience so I can try it one day. You and tea, I don’t think i can do without coffee. Oh gosh. Do you plan on posting about your 21 day fast? If so I can’t wait to learn more on it. God Bless 🙂

    • PJ because of health issues you can fast on other things like TV or something like an activity that gives pleasure but you could do without as long as you focus on Him. It’s not only about food only, it’s about fleshy things that derive pleasure. However, do things with wisdom and do what you can do as you’re led. I haven’t decided if I’ll post on here about my 21 Day but I will probably periodically post on my meditations during the Fast. We shall see 😀 God Bless you.

  2. I love the title of this post! The best is yet to come is something Pastor Brian Houston says. Now concerning the tea issue, I know exactly what you mean! I thought you could have Rooibos tea with honey?

This is an amazing post. Getting ready for the Daniel Warfare Fast. I know you mentioned Consecration but after your Fasting With A Purpose part 1 post, I will not be convinced otherwise!

    Keep this up. Loving it!

    • Thanks Tarisai. Most Tea has caffeine so I can’t do Rooibos either which makes me cry somewhat lol. Oh I know it’s gonna be tough so Juice and Water is going to be my best friend during this Fast, Lol. Enjoy your Fast and May God Take us all through it with Fear and Trembling (literally) lol 😀

  3. Lol. Most tea has caffeine? Wow I never knew that. I’ll be sure to take that into consideration. More importantly of course, the battle that will take place in the spirit. Working out our salvation with fear and trembling is going to be insane!

Well soldier, we’ll be prepped up with you and see you in the battlefield!

  4. This is a wonderful post young lady! You go ahead now. I think I read the post by Tarisai or either I’m not done. From what I have read, it’s a great compilation to what you wrote. They go together well. God bless you both! I will do the Daniel Fast with you. I too am a tea lover and the upside is that I am all out of chamomile tea, which is my favorite! No thanks to my kids, I’m out of it though my husband bought more. Just not chamomile so I have no desire to drink it. Lol. Most teas I drink are caffeine free so it’s possible you can still do so. It’s just a thought. But if just giving it up all together is easier in a sense, do that rather than possibly stumbling. I don’t consume much caffeine in general because of my seizures but prior to that I stayed pregnant so much that I was always nursing a baby which I had to be mindful of what I was consuming so it has just become a way living now that my youngest is 10. Ok yes I totally took this in left field but I came back to my purpose. Lol.

Much love, blessings and prosperity in great abundance to you. Wisdom has graced you. What an inspiration and encourager you are to me. I’m looking for a great harvest this year. May we all be mindful of the seeds we sow. Praying the Lord’s purpose of his will set for our lives be manifested physically and spiritually in Jesus name.

    God bless you and yours…..

    • I’m glad you are joining the Fast Terra. Yes, I think knowing me, I must avoid Tea all together lol. May you be filled with a spirit of abundance during this fast in Jesus name. This Journey is going to be an interesting one. Thanks for stopping by. God Bless you 😀

  5. I cannot think of harvest without remembering that some will plant, some will gather, some will winnow, some will carry the abundance of the harvest to the Lord’s storehouses. Some will then feed the flocks from those storehouses. I think of how the cycles of the growing seasons circling back around give us so much spiritual insight in how the Kingdom works. You, I have complete faith, are growing exponentially in your spiritual life during your Daniel Fast.

  6. Oh no! There goes my green tea! No kidding, lol. Seriously though, you are wonderful and I’m not ashamed to say that your posts keep me grounded sometimes. [was planning to skip the Daniel fast and then act like I’m ahead of y’all] Wrong, I know it lol. But thanks for being there haha 😀

  7. Sherline,

Okay yea I read some more on the fast and I plan on giving it a try. I always thought it was food, but its a fleshy thing. well I can’t wait to read more of it regardless. somethngs I need to try and pull back from all together. And I believe I can do it! Thank you for letting me know. How or you doing? God Bless 🙂

    • Well I’ve started today with my fast and having no tea has kept me very alert today which is kind of incredible because I thought tea would make me more alert lol. Otherwise, I’m good and keeping focused 😀 I’m so glad you want to give it a try. Just make sure that you watch your health as you said before. Do things in moderation and eat food if you have to too so that you remain ok. Since you are taking medication always inquire with your doctor first before heading out to do this ok. Just want to lay that out there so that you keep safe and practice wisdom. Gotta take care of yourself first. 🙂

  8. You can do it, I know I would be out of it without no coffee in me. I hate to be cold, and thats one thing I see myself having when it comes to getting warm. I have tried different kind of teas but just not for me. I’ll will keep a eye on my health, which maybe to late as of now, since I’m so not feeling my best at the moment, 😦 but I do have other things I can work on. Any snow your way? lol

    • Yesterday was a bit wierd in that we had snow then sun then snow then sun then snow then sun then snow and then sun. So we technically have no proof that we had snow since the sun periodcially melted it away so yes we had snow but then it dissappeared. It’s a mystery lol 😀 Keep warm and stay healthy. Instead of food, I suggest other things like music that isn’t christian or tv shows…you can participate at that level if it can’t be food. Because you are still devoting yourself to Christ by blocking out the things that distract our focus. stay blessed hun 😀

  9. Sounds like what happen over Christmas and lately. Rain, then sun, rain, sun. Only God knows 🙂 Thats a mystery in itself. Yea you right, I’m do that. Sad to say I don’t watch much television but I do have urge for my soaps I do watch. Thank you for the encouragement. I needed it. God Bless 🙂
