Hearing God’s Frequency

Understanding what it means to Hear God at the right frequency. Are you tuned in or tuned out?

Hello Everyone!

radioToday, I felt like discussing how we, as Christians and non-Christians can hear from God. I find it extremely amazing how God can talk to just anyone in order to have His voice heard. However, my focus is to simply outline my experience of how anyone can hear the voice of God by tuning into his frequency.

You must be wondering how does anyone in this world tune in to God’s frequency in order to hear Him better? I liken this experience to an analogy on the radio. Let’s just imagine that everyone in the whole world had access to the radio to hear about news, current events, your favorite music station and so on. We have to tune the radio to a specific frequency in order to obtain the information we need.  Now let us imagine that the radio channel the Christian believer is on is the frequency…

Press In Your Presence – I will fight to worship you!

Hi Everybody!

I pray that you all are having a blessed Sunday. God is our strength from day to day and today is another day to give him the highest praise! :D

Today, I just want to seek y’all to pray for a young man by the name of Richie who is struggling with his family that is threatening him to stop pursuing praise and worship as a musician in our band. The situation is rather complex, but this young man loves God and wants to stay on our worship team, but the issues at home are preventing him from pursuing God with the passion he has burning in his chest to play his bass guitar with his friends in our praise team. He was beaten up by his father last night and the conditions at home are quite complicated since his father is living with another woman that is not his mother, and his grandmother is another obstacle that literally tried to stop him from coming to church last Sunday to do worship with us, however, he was able to make it after a phone call conversation with my Pastor. Seriously, can you believe that????!!!

People, this is what I mean when I say Worship is warfare…and unfortunately, in the case of Richie, this is the situation. Despite all of this, we are praying for him and we are taking steps to defend and fight for this young man that needs covering to get through all this. I simply cannot understand why people would want to prevent others from worshiping God, but without revealing too much personal information, what I will say is that we are up against a Strongman which is the spirit of RELIGION, coupled with PRIDE and ARROGANCE and a Spirit of CONTROL. So I pray that all my blogger friends join me and pray for this young man who seeks to pursue his passion to be a part of what God is doing. God wants this young man to worship freely and without being manipulated. He called my pastor and told him that he was really sad today because he really wanted to worship with us today. It really broke my heart because last week when he worshiped with us for the first time, he totally enjoyed it, I mean thoroughly enjoyed it. He has never felt so free in worship in his entire life and the best thing was that the whole band was comprised with his friends.

Worshiping God with freedom is a river to ones soul. It fills you and satisfies you in ways you cannot even begin to imagine or explain. The moment people try to snatch your worship away, it’s as if your soul has been thrust into a desert where you remain thirsty seeking for that drop of water to fill you with life again. I know personally and from experience that I cannot be in a place where worship is not done freely, and if a spirit of Control is attached to every action of a worshiper then aren’t we just marionettes singing songs masquerading as worship?

God doesn’t want a puppet show where one is only pulling at the strings, He wants each and every person to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.

My Pastor is going to speak to the boy’s family today and as he does this let us put our hearts together and pray for this young man called Richie and pray that God breaks through in his situation. He is seeking God and we are praying that God will intervene in Jesus Name.

Thank you so much for praying with me everyone. I really appreciate it.

If two or more are seen as touching anything, whatever we ask of God, it shall be done, Amen!

Here is a song by Shana Wilson that came to me as a song that seems to be the right one to minister to this young man’s needs called Press in Your Presence. I pray that this song blesses your spirit today. God Bless you everybody! :D

So What Do We Do Now With Mark Driscoll?

So What Do We Do Now With Mark Driscoll?.

I read this article and thought to myself how sad it is that popular preachers are straying from the safety net of wise counselors by abusing their powers that not only affect the flock, but their spiritual walk with God on a personal basis.

I think the major take away from this article are the numbered items that I think are key for leaders to understand about their role. There is nothing wrong with making mistakes…but it is the attitude in which those refuse to repent or be corrected by them that worries me. I have seen this happen in a church before and all the signs are there, but people are too afraid to speak up, pay attention, or do something about it (i.e. confront their leaders). We are our brothers keeper…and it is a duty to make sure that when even a leader strays. we guide them back on the right path on the right road with love and compassion and direction. If we shy away from correcting them…are we not saying we don’t care for their lives???

This should be food for thought today.

What would Jesus want us to do? We cannot forsake our brothers and sisters…but if they refuse to change…they will have to answer to God in the long run for their own actions. Apostasy continues when people don’t stand up for what is right, allowing abuse to continue to happen.

As a watchwoman, I find this to be critical to watch out for this year…leaders will reap what they sow during the season of the harvest if they don’t repent. It is not God’s will to watch Christian leaders fall…He wants them to change their ways and humble themselves and pray and turn away from their wicked ways, and God will restore them and heal them and deliver them, if and when they do choose the path of the humble and decide to repent openly before God and their flock.

This is a good time to remind people of the warning signs of an unhealthy church:

1. Little or no accountability. When celebrity preachers seem eager to tell everyone else what to do but aren’t willing to hear correction from others, prepare for a train wreck. There is safety in the multitude of counselors (see Prov. 11:14). There is much less safety—even danger—when a leader does not seek counsel from a diverse group of his peers.

2. Spiritual elitism. If there is a spirit of control in a church, people are usually told their group is superior. If people choose to leave, they are shunned or branded as renegades. Sometimes, in extreme cases, people are even cursed if they leave. This cultic behavior inflicts unimaginable emotional suffering and also divides families.

3. An oppressive atmosphere. Authoritarian leaders control people through manipulation. This may come in the form of threats, legalistic demands, unreasonable requirements or false doctrines. In such a church no one is allowed to ask questions. Spiritual heaviness lies like a thick cloud over the congregation, and few believers manifest genuine joy.

4. Angry domination. Tyrants are surprisingly similar. Because they want to control their surroundings, they often blow up when people do not conform to their demands. Yet the apostle Paul taught that church leaders should not be “violent” or “quarrelsome” but “self-controlled” and “gentle” (see 1 Tim. 3:2-3). He also instructed Timothy that the Lord’s servant “must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone” (2 Timothy 2:24).

 5. A low view of women. While churches today differ in their views on women in leadership, it should be noted that authoritarian churches almost always discourage women from pursuing any genuine role in ministry. Women are viewed as useful only in their functions as submissive wives and mothers, and they are not encouraged to step beyond these confines to pursue ministry opportunities.

Let’s pray that the healing power of Jesus covers this situation in Seattle—and that the people who left Mars Hill Church, the people who remain there, and Mark Driscoll himself can recover from the trauma of spiritual abuse.

Should a Christian listen to secular music?

nightshade130:

All the things you wanted to know about music but were afraid to ask when thinking about what is acceptable before God

Originally posted on Pastor Mike Says:

secularMany Christians struggle with this question. Many secular musicians are immensely talented. Secular music can be very entertaining. There are many secular songs that have catchy melodies, thoughtful insights, and positive messages. In determining whether or not to listen to secular music, there are three primary factors to consider: 1) the purpose of music, 2) the style of music, and 3) the content of the lyrics.

1) The purpose of music. Is music designed solely for worship, or did God also intend music to be soothing and/or entertaining? The most famous musician in the Bible, King David, primarily used music for the purpose of worshipping God (see Psalm 4:1; 6:1, 54, 55; 61:1; 67:1; 76:1). However, when King Saul was tormented by evil spirits, he would call on David to play the harp in order to soothe him (1 Samuel 16:14-23)…

Hi Everybody!

Hope you are having an awesome weekend! Well, I’m in the mood for some praise and worship! Whoohooooo! The song I have today is the kind that will keep your head up by J.Moss! If you didn’t feel joy today, this song will uplift your spirit and make you dance!

When I think of David in the Bible and all the stuff he had to endure before he  became King of Israel, he wrote so many psalms to God to keep His focus on who it was that gave Him Strength when he was weak; Who gave him joy in times of depression; Who gave him hope even in the most dismal situations he had encountered while Saul was seeking him out to destroy him. David had a lot of praise to give to the Lord despite all the things that he was going through and this is…

Does God want Christians to be prosperous and rich?

(Prov 19:10)

Read: Ecclesiastes 10:5-7

“I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth” (Ecclesiastes 10:7). Solomon was the wisest man in the Old Testament. He had a simple way of communicating great truths. In today’s reading, he showed his dismay about servants ruling over princes. In Proverbs 30:21-23, hemoney said he could not tolerate a servant ruling over those who should rule over him. God shared this sentiment with king Solomon. Revelation 1:4-6 says you have been made a king and priest to God. 1 Peter 2:9 says you are of divine royal blood.

God is sad when He sees the one He created to dominate, at the mercy of those who should be under him. Are you living up to your billing…

Ignite My Fire for New Beginnings this Month

5988623188_2669f7a0fd_z

Hi Everybody!

I know that it’s been a while since I’ve written on my Blog. I mean it’s been a while since I’ve written anything substantive, but I just want to let you know that I’m still alive and well :).

I want to declare and decree to you that this month of August is a month of New Beginnings.

August is the 8th month of the year and number 8 in biblical numerology is always associated with NEW BEGINNINGS! HALLELUJAH! :D

REJOICE!!!!! because this is also a month that I believe you will receive answered prayers. The important key factor about receiving something is your EXPECTATION level. What are you Expecting from God? Some people pray and give up along the way, but I want to encourage you in this season NOT TO GIVE UP. Keep pressing through for your breakthrough.

Another thing I want to point out is that blessings don’t just fall from the sky and onto your lap… My friends, you have to ACT, you have to MOVE by faith (be practical) to obtain the promises of God. Passivity does not bring bread and butter to the table. You have to GO OUT and make it happen. I’m not here to give you a fluffy feel-good about yourself kind of message. You will have to learn what it means to endure and press through and face trials and tribulations by remaining steadfast and vigilant. As the old sayings go, No Pain, No Gain, No Guts, No Glory…

Laziness is a vice to your advancement in the Kingdom of God. So Go out there and get with the program.

If you are not prepared to face battles in your mind right now….then you are destined to fail. OUCH Sherline, Where’s the encouragement woman!!!!!! (I’m sorry, did I just smack you with the truth?) tsk tsk tsk.

WAKE UP and FACE REALITY! You must aim to get stronger if you are weak right now. Train yourself, seek knowledge, pursue wisdom, for wisdom will carry you to greater heights.

Build emotional strength and wisdom to confront each battle with the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. Gird yourself up with the full armor of God and choose to not lean on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge God and He will direct your path… (Proverbs 3:6) God will make your path straight when you are led by His Spirit, so seek God first in all that you do. You aren’t that bright all by yourself.

I’ve been learning on my journey that people who are short sighted only see where you are right now, but they don’t know where God is taking you when you are following Him. Do not be distracted by the naysayers and the ones who don’t have the same revelation of God that you have. Criticism is really a sign of insecurity to the one who gives criticism aimed to cut down and tear down at others so that they can feel better about themselves. You have no time to trifle with such people. Shake the criticism and the discouragement off and keep your head high and focus on the goal.

You must remain focused so that you obtain your promises from the Lord. Critics are those walking around for 40 years in a desert not seeing a way out… You will notice that nothing around them changes so you must be like Caleb and say “enough is enough! I’m walking towards the promised land!”  This is how you should go about your everyday business.

Choose your battles wisely because sometimes you’ll get caught up in fruitless arguments that also pose as a distraction. Let me tell you, You have no time for that in this season. Remain focused, be vigilant, don’t be passive and remain ACTIVE. Your pursuit of happiness is determined on how you conquer minor and major giants that you face in your daily life. Seek wisdom from the Lord if you lack it. The Lord will not withhold any Good thing from you.

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.

The Lord has been impressing upon my heart to tell the people I want them to focus on the Deuteronomy 28 Blessings. So what I’m going to do is paste this scripture here on this blog and you are going to pronounce these blessings over your household and your family in this month of August. Great things are coming to your address!

Deuteronomy 28: 1-14(NKJV)

Blessings on Obedience

28 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:

“Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.

“Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.

“Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.

“Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

“The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

“The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. 10 Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. 11 And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. 12 The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. 14 So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Here is a song that is in my Spirit lately by William Murphy called Ignite My Fire. May this Song Bless your Spirit Today. God Bless you everybody! :D
