October 29, 2011 - Let Go and Let God

I woke up this morning thinking about why it’s so hard to let ourselves surrender areas we struggle with into God’s hands. I will speak for myself and say that there are areas where I feel I don’t trust that he cares about and “I can handle it under my own terms”. I lack the faith to believe that God can take care of this or that situation.

 Just when you think you’ve surrendered all to God, I come across bumps along the way and realize that I didn’t surrender this area to God but I allowed Him in certain areas that I could trust Him with. Why is it so hard to lean on God for things that are beyond our control at times? In my Journey I know that I have a measure of faith and if I want to increase it, I have to surrender the areas in my life that I have not fully trusted God to handle. Surrendering feels like we’re being left vulnerable but really, it’s a test of trust and a measure of Faith.

Look at your cup and ask yourself, what is your measure of Faith today?

Have you surrendered ALL to God?

What do you still Struggle with?

What keeps you from Letting Go and Letting God?

So my encouragement today is:

Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not unto you own understanding, and in ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your Path (Proverbs 5:6).

You are not alone when you think you are. He is waiting for you to Trust Him. He cares about every circumstance and issue that you are dealing with. He cares when you are in Pain, when you are suffering when you feel despair. He cares when you Hate Him and think that He isn’t listening. He cares when you Cry, He cares when you feel Alone, He cares for you in ways that you cannot understand with your own level of thinking. He is waiting for you to reach out to Him like a child who reaches out to their parents for comfort.

The reasons why we struggle to have Faith in God is because we wrestle with what should be handled with by the DIVINE. 

Be Encouraged no matter what’s goin’ on. You’ll make it all right, but you’ve got to be Strong! (This is a line from a song I’ve heard years ago).
